Xanxus/Ichigo, Curses + Detective AU

Oooohhh. Okay. Squalo seeks out Ichigo, a PI with a reputation for solving weird cases, and hires him to find the former (assumed) heir of the Vongola Family, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances eight years ago. Ichigo knows that Squalo has more info than he’s offering, but he takes the case anyway, because Squalo looks desperate. And, in the course of digging into things, he starts finding odd little pieces that point squarely to it being a cover-up from within the family. Eventually, he manages to find out that Timoteo was the one to curse Xanxus, and, horrified, he finds Xanxus in his cursed sleep and goes on the run, trying to find a way to break the spell and not get killed by Tsunayoshi, the very disarming but also scary true heir who’s conflicted but still determined to recover his cousin from the evil kidnapper who’s taken him. 

Of course, the cure for the curse is true love’s kiss, which Ichigo provides entirely by accident. Xanxus is Not Amused, but when Tsuna realizes what’s happened he stops the fight, and they all go overthrow Timoteo together.

Okay, yeah, your logic is sound I can roll with that. 

With a growl of frustration,Xanxus rakes a hand through his hair, shoving it back, and then turns. He scansthe grounds in a long, careful sweep, but even that isn't enough to ease thetightening knot of tension in his chest, the pulse of alarm that’s growing outof his control. It’s enough to make him want to blow up the mansion, go on therun, and he hates it.

The last time he felt like thiswas his confrontation with Timoteo beneath the Vongola Mansion, and if it getsany worse Xanxus is going to claw his own skin to shreds just trying to escapeit.

And then, light and soft andswift, there's a footstep.

Xanxus wrenches around, Flamesof Wrath surging to hungry, violent life, both of his pistols aimed in half aninstant. His heartbeat triples, races, and he locks eyes with a steady browngaze and snarls, “Who the fuck areyou?”

The man—younger than Xanxus, butnot by much—raises his hands, like that’s any kind of gesture when he’s here, in the middle of a base full ofassassins and surrounded by guards, without any hint of having raised an alarm.

“Easy,” he says, and despite thebright orange hair, that’s Japanese. Xanxus frowns, and the stranger freezes,then curses. “Damn it, of course they wouldn’t—uh, English? I can—”

“Japanese is fine,” Xanxus sayscurtly, in the same language, and tightens his finger on the trigger. “Butyou’d better use it to explain what the fuck you're doing on my property beforeI put a hole right through you.”

There isn't so much as a flickerof fear on the stranger’s face. He glances at Xanxus’s guns, then back at hisface, and says, “You’re in danger. I'm here to help you.”

Xanxus barks out a laugh, roughand angry. “Help me? Shithead, I'm more dangerous than any fucking thing youthink’s coming after me.”

Brown eyes widen, and thenamusement flickers across the stranger’s face. “Maybe,” he says, and beforeXanxus can do more than bristle he adds, “Backup can't hurt. And I know who is after you.”

Xanxus hesitates, but—that’s apoint. Lussuria and Viper haven’t heard of any threats, because they would haveinformed him, and hiding from the intelligence officer of the Varia and one of the Arcobaleno isn'tsomething most people manage, especially when Xanxus is the target.

“Names,” he orders, and doesn’tlet his guns waver.

“Look,” the stranger says,faintly exasperated, and his hands come down. Xanxus tenses sharply, but thestranger just flicks him an unimpressed look. “It’s a long story. And it’sabout your father.”

If that was an attempt to calmXanxus down, it does exactly the opposite. He snarls, takes a stride forwarduntil the stranger is looking right down the barrel of the closest gun, anddemands, “What the hell do you have to do with Timoteo—”

“Not him,” the stranger says evenly, holding hisgaze. “Your real father.”

Ok here goes, I yearn for a Xanxus/Ichigo rare pair. The premise is that Isshin was not the only Shinigami to fall in love with a human, a Kukichi did too, enter Xanxus as someone related to Byakuya. Due to some similarities in their childhoods, Xanxus and Rukia are instant bros.

Xanxus/Ichigo, shinigami as yakuza/the mob AU. Maybe Xanxus meets Cloud!Ichigo and decides to recruit him/aggressively date him on the spot? Or there's an arranged mariage for alliance/peace treaty reasons (Ichigo with whatever flame you want)? Or maybe a mix of both? Bonus point for some Squalo & Ichigo bonding! Like Squalo would be so relieved to have someone reasonable to act as a buffer! Super bonus point : Ichigo + whole Varia bonding!
