The colors of the circumhorizontal arc are more vivid and reversed from those of a rainbow, with red on top and violet at the bottom. A circumhorizontal arc can only be seen when the Sun or Moon is very high in the sky, at an elevation of 58 degrees or greater. This means that it is more common in tropical and subtropical regions, and rare or impossible in higher latitudes.

In summary, a 22° halo and a circumhorizontal arc are both halos, but they differ in their shape, color, and occurrence. A 22° halo is a ring around the Sun or Moon, with faint colors and red on the inside. A circumhorizontal arc is a band below the Sun or Moon, with bright colors and red on top. Ketika memasuki musim dingin, khususnya di daerah-daerah dekat kutub seperti Finlandia, Kanada, dan Rusia, akan terjadi suatu fenomena alam yang sangat indah di langit malam. Fenomena alam ini dinamakan Pilar Cahaya atau light pillar. Pilar cahaya adalah fenomena optik yang terjadi di lapisan atmosfer bumi yang menunjukkan cahaya yang memanjang ke atas atau ke bawah dan membentuk sebuah tiang di sumber cahaya. Fenomena pilar cahaya ini hanya dapat muncul di daerah yang bersuhu di bawah 10 derajat celcius, sehingga tidak mungkin terjadi di Indonesia yang dilewati garis Khatulistiwa.

Kemunculan fenomena ini disebabkan oleh pantulan cahaya dari kristal-kristal es kecil yang bergantungan di atmosfer atau di awan pada ketinggian tertentu, seperti awan cirrostratus yang berada di ketinggian 6.000 meter dari permukaan laut dan awan cirrus yang terletak di ketinggian 9.000 meter diatas permukaan laut. Oleh karena itu, fenomena ini tergolong dalam keluarga fenomena Halo, yaitu klasifikasi untuk fenomena-fenomena optik yang terjadi akibat interaksi cahaya dengan kristal es. Kemudian, sumber cahaya yang membentuk pilar ini dapat berupa cahaya Bulan untuk pilar cahaya alami, atau lampu jalan untuk pilar cahaya buatan.

Pilar cahaya terjadi dengan beragam tinggi, kejelasan dan kenampakan, serta warna. Tinggi dari pilar cahaya tergantung pada bentuk kristal es yang memantulkan cahayanya. Biasanya, kristal-kristal es yang bertanggung jawab atas pilar-pilar cahaya yang tinggi berbentuk heksagonal rata. Setiap kristal memantulkan cahaya tepat ke bawahnya dan semakin banyak kristal es yang memantulkan cahaya, semakin jelas dan nampak pilar cahaya yang dihasilkan. Sedangkan warna pilar cahaya beragam tergantung dari sumber cahayanya, pilar cahaya yang berasal dari pantulan cahaya bulan biasanya berwarna putih atau kuning.

Terkadang orang-orang mengira bahwa pilar cahaya ini adalah fenomena alam lain yang cukup mirip, yaitu Aurora. Jika dilihat secara sekilas memang terlihat sama, tetapi kedua fenomena ini memiliki beberapa perbedaan yang mencolok. Aurora adalah fenomena yang benar-benar alami sedangkan pilar cahaya dapat dibuat oleh manusia dengan mudah. Selain itu, pilar cahaya hanyalah pantulan cahaya dan tidak mengganggu gelombang elektromagnetik di atmosfer seperti aurora.

Pilar cahaya alami dari pantulan cahaya bulan paling sering terjadi di wilayah Finlandia yang menampilkan tiang-tiang cahaya yang terang dan indah. Tak hanya pilar cahaya alami yang indah, pilar cahaya buatan juga terlihat sangat indah. Salah satu peristiwa pilar cahaya buatan yang paling indah terjadi di New York City, Amerika Serikat setiap tahun sejak 2002 pada tanggal 11 September untuk mengenang peristiwa 9/11. Peristiwa ini dinamakan "Tribute in Light" dan diperlihatkan di kawasan bekas reruntuhan gedung kembar World Trace Center.

So the other day I noticed that these odd ice crystals had formed on a staircase window in my house on a very cold day. In five years living here I had never seen it happen. Then while listening to a lecture by Adam Gopnik about winter and its mythologies, he explained that these formations once unleashed a fierce debate about the existence of God. Apparently such shapes only form on old style window glass (like the kind in my staircase) so they are becoming obsolete. In the 19th Century, Goethe and his gang had intense arguments about whether these beautiful patterns known to them as  eis blumen (ice flowers) were random occurrences or part of a larger plan —  evidence of God's hand in the universe or proof of God's absence. I don't have a strong opinion either way but do find it odd that a day after discovering the existence of this phenomenon I was delivered  its explanation and significance. It may not convince me of the existence of God but It does reaffirm my faith in the CBC.

I recently took a deepdive into Rainworld and it's Lore, so I got a bit obsessed over it xD As a Result, I created my own Slugcat-OC I named The Glacier or just Glacier.

They sit a bit before Saint in the Timeline, so when the world is already an IceAge.

- Their Fur is covered with lots of tiny Icecrystals to make them immune agains the Cold and the Blizzards. So they're able to stay outside a lot longer than Saint (In Saints Campain are enemies that can withstand the cold and not get affected by it) - They can use their Icecrystals as Spear-like weapons similar to Spearmaster; their Damage is also increased - They're very weak agains explosions and can get instant killed by them, which prevents Glacier from using them directly - If around warm Objects or Creatures for to long they can get a heatstroke which weakens them - In a weakend state, they act similar when being in a Starve Circle and they can't use their Ice Spears anymore until recovery - Their lung capacity is bigger than the Standart, but not as big as of Rivulet - Swimming and staying in the Water helps recovering from a heatstroke faster  - Staying in a Shelter and Hibernating doesn't affect their temperature - The previous Drainage System now Undergrowth Area also can cause a heatstroke if staying in there for to long - Glacier needs as many Food Pipes as Rivulet and Spearmaster (5) with being able to store three more for the next Circle. - Any dead creature can be eaten for food, however smaller creatures and plants only fill 1/4th of a food pip. - During a Blizzard, Glacier is less visible to creatures, quieter and gets a larger stealth bonus when crouching

Real name: Herie/Haley

Species: Ice mutant with an human like appearance that allows her to blend into the humans more. She is half human but she has more mutant dna than that of a human. Her father and he grandfather is a ice mutant as well. There was a man who became the ice king. His name is Cyron. He had loyal followers and he transformed there dna into ice mutant dna. Haley’s father and grandfather were lucky to escape after that. Then they went to Khun Lhun. A kingdom where magic is prominent.However , it is very unusual for people to have ice powers. Especially as strong as Haley’s father Tyler and her grandfather who is one of the few strongest Ice mutants who could break the ice king’s will over there minds. Haley doesn’t know that she is an ice mutant until her father has to tell her. She comes to New York after escaping her kidnapper there. Her family remains there. She reunites with the rise turtles. They have met before when they was all little and recognized eachother when they were older. Haley’s father and splinter were friends in the past when splinter was human. This is her first origin for her fan fiction story. I have a solo story of her as well for her own story. Images will be shown here soon!

Assignment 5: Part 3

This is the last part of the 3D printing where I finalise the object I decided to create.

After I was done with the main Netsuke piece, I jumped into creating a base for it. I wanted it to fit the overall theme of a Japanese garden, so I made it into slabs of rock. It was my first time sculpting stylised rocks so I made sure to watch a few online videos for reference. The channel IceCrystal ART had a video which was quite helpful and straightforward (https://youtu.be/phgEOyqhDuo?si=9l7xw1p3PK3NAw6X).

After that came the stage where I created the planter bowl. I quickly modelled it in 3dsMAX and imported it into ZBrush to add details. Then, to create wavy bumps on its sides, I used the "Standard" brush to carve into the bowl on both sides. I wanted to make sure that the brush only affects one side at a time, so I researched how to do it online. I found this video by Follygon on YouTube which introduced me to backface masking for brushes (https://youtu.be/G_pEfhDqtZY).

At first, the backface masking was very useful, but I later realised that using it had a potentially bad effect. Both sides of the surface no longer had a connection and were independent, this caused them to overlap in places where the surface had been pushed too far in or out. Unfortunately, this was not clearly visible inside of ZBrush and I only realised it had happened after exporting the object later on. I ended up fixing it afterwards by using the backface mask again and pushing the mesh in the opposite direction in places where it overlaps.

The final step was to get the sculpt ready to be exported. Meanwhile, the subtools were too high in polygon number so I had to reduce them somehow. For that, I remembered a tool that was discussed during class, which is ZBrush's "Decimation Master". It turned out to be relatively easy to use as I only had to do two steps: preprocess all the subtools first, then decimate second. What this allowed me to do is reduce the number of polygons while keeping the sculpted details intact by transforming the mesh into triangular faces. In the end, I exported the entire object as an STL file which is ready for printing.

Although Zivs pale ears turned into the direction of the scream like the ears of an alerted animal, all she did was taking another sip from her hot tea. She had learned that drinking hot beverages in hot climate helped the body cool down because the system did not needed to waste any energy to heat the content in her stomach up, so accordingly she drank hot tea, stayed in the shadow and moved as little as she could in the sun that could burn her colourless skon as easy as a sheet of flimsi: "Oh no, how horrible. I have no kriffing idea where all the fur came from. Maybe a Nerf came by and kriffing sneezed. As it kriffing happens. Occaisonally. Not that I know much about beeing loosing fur,nooo what makes you kriffing think that."

"You should be kriffing thankful that the fur is all kriffing beautifuly white and perfectly isolating dense and soft and velvetly! I am waiting for the krififng thanks! Not that I have any-kriffing-thing to do with that Kriffery of fur covering anything, but a thank you would be kriffing welcomned too!", After all Tynnans were aquatic Mammals and made for extreme cold, so beeing in hot climats made Ziv shed easily and fast, even if the shedding and ast change of fur was never enough to make her even feel remotely comfotable in hot temperatures, let alone stark sunlight. Then, without a ounce of shame, she grabbed under her shirt and pulled a handful of fur off her stomach from her shedding undercoat and let the fluffy,like icecrystals shimmering boundle fall to the ground. Unimpressed the young woman took another sip of her tea, watching the much too hot sun out of the safety of her shadowy corner sourly.

i really like the banescale male pose! i have 2 favorites!

the purple one is named oddity (he/him) and the pink one is named kaurus (also he/him).

oddity is a guy who is so transgender and i got him because ice with tomato stained surprisingly makes a decent purple. because he's a 7 digit g1, he gets to be in my lore, which focuses on pairs of dragons that are kind of the same aspect and feel the same feelings. in general, the pairs are like if 2 people ran a blog about a concept. i got his skin for about 700g and i have no clue when i did.

kaurus has a troubled history. i know i bought him before my hiatus for 100g and i bought his skin during wind vs lightning after coming back, but he reminds me of pre-hiatus me when i thought some nasty things that make me think i never had will of my own. i planned to get him a wife but that didn't work out and he's way cooler if he's gay. after my hiatus i made him central to my lore as a guy that knows aliens exist but then i scrapped that concept. but i did train him to 25 to put a new build on him that i made. check out icecrystal crusher if you want to medimire but in crystal pools. also his skin is named after a cosmo sheldrake lyric i think that's neat

My characters for my stories:

IceCrystal - real name; Haley Rolland/Herie in Korean. Haley is a teenage girl with ice powers! However, she has little control over her powers. She has been trained by her dad whom also has powers and by the monks of the kingdom she lives in to control her powers not develop them. Her origin is messy, since her father is secretive about their past. I put her in fanficitions with ultimate Spider-Man show characters and I have ships with her and iron fist. I also have another fanfiction of her where I have here shipped with risetmnt Leo. She has a lot to learn about herself and her powers in all of my stories. I don’t know why I’m posting this, but what the heck. It’s a list of monsters in various Japanese RPGs that have no palette swaps in their games. This does not include monsters that have the same graphic, but with different weapons (i.e. Goblin/Ogan/Groupie/Flunky in Chrono Trigger), minor additions (i.e. M.Mummy in Breath of Fire II or TrickBag/JewelBag in Dragon Warrior VII), or that are just stretched/shrunken models of other monsters (i.e. the Grangalan family or Ice Golems in Final Fantasy VII); nor does it include dummied monsters or monsters that only appear in remakes.
