I am victorious.

I haven't been talking much about any specific projects this year; I've just been posting my chapters as they come up.

But in between my various fanfiction projects, I've been maintaining a pretty good NaNoWriMo streak. This year, so far, I have participated in both Camp NaNoWriMo events.

In April, I worked on a mass crossover fantasy story, which I call Carve My Path in Chaos. It's basically a rebirth of a story I first came up with as a kid, way back before I had regular internet access, crossing the classic JRPG Chrono Trigger with Blizzard's Diablo franchise.

This month, July, I worked on something a lot more personal, which I call Notes for a Love Story.

It's a personal project in the sense that I'm literally using myself, and my personal history, as a basis for the work. Given just how personal it is, I have no intention of posting it in its current form. That said, I may be posting it in some other form, more heavily fictionalized, at a later date.

Special thanks to my partner @thejanestofdoes and my girlfriend @kintatsujo for their steadfast support as I worked on this project. It was hard, but I think it was important, work.

I love you both.

And to any writer following me who's been struggling: hang in there. It took me ten years to figure my shit out enough to write regularly again, after university.

You can do it too.

lately a taco truck has been parking near the dollar store with the best tacos i've had outside of LA. this works out really great for everyone with taste but the guy with the lunch sub place has been getting really mad about it and won't stop filing complaints even though the truck has all its permits in order and has permission by the property owners to park there (because they also want good tacos). he keeps insisting the truck is stealing his business but local officials keep reminding him that he doesn't sell tacos and the truck doesn't sell subs. finally the sub guy posted his revised 2025 menu on facebook and it now includes a 'taco sub' which is just pre-seasoned ground beef on a sub bun with american cheese.

Here's the thing: there's no way to pull Kirk's "surprise" move without crawling onto Bones's lap. This isn't the same as leaning on a desk that someone's seated 12" beneath. I think I got the proportions wrong in my illustration because it failed to show how absolutely lip to lip they'd be. It's also possible they could be whispering in each other's ears instead of talking mouth to mouth. If you don't believe me, try it yourself: feet on the ground, hands on the same surface your coworker the other person is sitting on.
