ICC releases Manu Sawhney as CEO
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has discontinued the services of Manu Sawhney as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with immediate effect. The decision was taken by the ICC Board during its meeting. Geoff Allardice will continue as Acting CEO supported by the Leadership Team working closely with the ICC Board.
Sawhney was suspended in March following various allegations in an internal review conducted by an external agency. While Sawhney had referred to the review as a witch-hunt, the ICC Board on Thursday decided to sever ties with the sports management veteran.

T20 World Cup Venue
The men's T20 World Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman in the near future.On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the news.The event will take place from October 17 through November 14 over four locations in both countries, according to the statement.
The T20 World Cup Venue was meant to be hosted in India, but due to the coronavirus outbreak, it was moved to the two countries. In addition, the UAE will host the remainder of the 2021 Indian Premier League season.
"The ICC board has instructed that management focus its planning efforts for the ICC men's T20 World Cup 2021 on the tournament being held in the UAE, with the potential of integrating another Middle Eastern venue," according to the statement
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said it will need extra time from the International Cricket Council (ICC) before deciding if India, the sport's economic powerhouse and one of the top on-field nations, could still host the T20 World Cup.
The tournament will take place across four venues – Dubai International Stadium, Sheikh Zayed Stadium Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium and Oman Cricket Academy Ground.
According to ICC, the first round which comprises of eight qualifying teams will be split between Oman & UAE and four from them will then join the eight qualified teams in Super 12. “Our priority is to deliver the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 safely, in full and in its current window,” said acting ICC CEO Geoff Allardice. “We will work closely with the BCCI, the Emirates Cricket Board and Oman Cricket to ensure fans can enjoy a wonderful celebration of cricket,”
