she’s never been all that comfortable in hospitals -------------- doesn’t matter if she’s the one stuck in the bed itching to get the all - clear so she can leave, or if she’s the one that’s keeping watch at @graceimbrued ‘s bedside like she is now. there’s been a constant state of dread sitting in the pit of her stomach like a rock for the last several days even if the reason for it has gone and shapeshifted since the shock of seeing him run through. ( she still doesn’t remember much of the ambulance ride over; or how they ended up in one in the first place for that matter ----- her subconscious has been steadily trying it’s best to wipe out as much of the trauma as it can get away with between then and now. and she’s not all that much up for a fight to keep those images in her mind. ) sure, they’ve been in close scrapes before; seen each other bruised and broken. but never like this ---------- never to the point where she’d been convinced she was going to lose him for good.

still, the days have blurred together since then. mostly they feel like one long stretch of nothing save for the ebb and flow of feeling numb and feeling everything. there’s nothing she can do, they’ve told her time and time again, other than what she’s been doing --------- holding his hand while the machines do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to something as simple ( and something she’s previously taken for granted ) as breathing. still, she talks to him, even if the majority of the doctors tell her that while he’s in this level of unconsciousness he won’t be able to hear her ------ needing to fill the silence between doctors being paged and the constant ping of his heart monitor with something that doesn’t remind her of just how dire a situation this could really be. she’s never been much of an optimist, but for him she’s sure as hell going to try to be one now. it certainly didn’t help that everyone around them seemed to think he was a lost cause ----------- the murmured conversations between the techs on the scene, knowing glances between the doctors and nurses once he’d been wheeled in with her a few steps behind the both of them covered in his blood ----------- everyone but dean. first time in a long time she’s been thankful for his mile - wide stubborn streak. )

now the he was stable enough the plan was to pull him back slowly; give his body a chance to rid itself of the medications keeping him far away from her despite the constant feeling of his hand weighing down against hers. the worst part about it was the wait ( as if it already hadn’t been ); it could be minutes, hours, even a day before his senses would start coming back to him. she lifts her wrist and stifles back a yawn checking the time on her watch for what seems like the tenth time in the last five minutes, when she’s sure she’s felt him squeeze her hand back. whatever exhaustion had been pulling her down suddenly gets overtaken with adrenaline and the loudest her heart’s ever beaten. she squeezes his hand again; wanting to make sure it’s not her imagination getting the better of her or that damn optimism sprouting roots where it shouldn’t ------- but it happens again. it’s not a reflex, it’s a reaction; an acknowledgement. “hey, baby.”

he’s back he’s back he’s back. “there you are, sugar,” how she manages to keep her voice from wavering as she coos quietly, she’s not quite sure ----- especially since it feels like her heart’s been caught in her throat now since the moment he started to stir. she bites back a full - on grin, erring on the side of caution ( something she’s never been really good at; but the last few days have made it something she’s had to learn and learn quickly ) at least until those green eyes of his are opened for longer than just a flicker of lashes. her fingers make their way back to his forehead, lightly tracing one of the lines that forms whenever he’s bothered by something ( or as she’s seen too much of it recently, spending the last few days fighting for his life ) before they creep back up into his hairline. “i was wondering when you were going to open those eyes again.” she knows she should probably be reaching for that call button ------------- there’s a whole medical team waiting on this very thing, after all. but before the room’s swarming with scrubs and medical buzzwords and they start poking and prodding at him all over again, getting a moment to themselves doesn’t seem like too much -------------- especially knowing how close they’d come to never having it.

            “i missed you, y’know,” she allows herself a little smile, hoping somehow through the fog of medications still leaving his system he’s able to spot, “missed you something awful.” which sounds odd considering she’s been camped out in this little chair next to his bed for the vast majority of the time he’s been here ---------- only allowing herself to be shoo’d out of the room when the doctors and nurses needed to run tests or check his medications. past that the furthest she’d been from him was the gloomy little grey couch against the wall in his room. ( and even then, it was rarely being used. she preferred to curl herself up here beside him, no matter how much her shoulders or back protested at the odd angles and broken sleep. she wasn’t about to miss the moment he came back into consciousness by being on the other side of the room ---------- she didn’t want him thinking he was waking up to an empty room. but now that he was awake, none of it mattered anyway. )

her fingers haven’t stopped making little lines in his hair since he started to stir, and they don’t plan on fully stopping any time soon either ( at least for as long as she’s allowed to sit here ); they only pause long enough for her to focus on gently guiding his hand - in - hers up to her lips to press a kiss against the back of his hand. saying she’s been worried about him goes without saying ----------- this isn’t the first time she’s been scared he’s going to leave her for good sooner than she’d like; even if getting old in what they do isn’t the norm. but thinking about having to carry on without him ... she’s not ready to cross that bridge until she absolutely has to. ( and even then she’ll be in seven layers of denial about it. )

Okay so Casey Marie's muscles are something I'm never going to get over. SHE LOOKS GOOD!!!!! Her getup is feeling a little too reminiscent of a cape-wielding superhero for my tastes to be honest - I really loved the more practical outfits she wore in TLR Lost Years, especially in issue 4 when she was running the training mission for the kids. FINAL THOUGHTS:

dude that first issue was wordy but the kids were ON POINT. they were so fun!! their dialogue is fun and they kick ass.

i loved yi announcing the punishment for casey while the others were like NOO SHE DIDNT MEAN THAT DONT LISTEN TO HER. we're getting more of their personalities and it's great!! it was a nice throwback to issue 2 of lost years when they were cleaning - yi refused to help because of how strictly she was following instructions. im picking up that she might be neurodivergent but i did get that from the lost years too - only doing things within strict instructions, getting frustrated at teaching odyn chess, not because of him playing horseys with the knights but that it was Against The Rules Of Chess - and now not picking up on some social cues. It's nice to see!! I love her very much, but it feels like besides rehashing the origin story she took a bit of a backseat to the other three.

i want to know more about why uno said being a rebel was moja's 'thing', since she didn't seem to be any more rebellious than the other three in this issue. we didn't get any unique interactions between her and casey marie which is what i felt was lacking from lost years but i wonder if this is hinting towards a more turbulent mother-daughter dynamic with them... I REALLY HOPE SO!! her and uno butting heads in a leo-raph way is very fun - i don't mind one or two prior group dynamics leaking into the new turtle siblings because they're all so different from the original 4.

uno seems to be taking on slightly more of a leader role than moja so i think he won the title of fearless leader. which is fine, i think it'll be fun to see and he's definitely less of an asshole now than when he was growing up in lost years. still picking on odyn a bit but seems to snipe at moja just as much. even when he was commenting on yi's storytelling he didn't make fun of her, though - i think she may have inherited the 2k3 don ability of being Completely Unbullyable.

i was really pleased that odyn felt more involved!! i feel like he took the backseat a few times in lost years - it was fun seeing more of his personality shine through! he and yi seem to get on the best, and i giggled at them rolling their eyes at moja and uno's raph-leo schtick. i didn't expect him to TURN TO FUCKING STONE THOUGH, so i'm nervous about that. WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHO DID THIS TO MY BOY? IS HE GOING TO TURN BACK NEXT CHAPTER OR IS HE OUT OF COMMISSION UNTIL THE END OF THE RUN??? (if it's the latter i'll be a bit annoyed - don't take odyn away from the equation please!!)

I do wonder if by introducing casually that they can PSYCHICALLY CONNECT, the turtles will use that as a technique to reach odyn's mind to make sure he's still in there and piece together what's happened to him. i mean, their casual telepathy has gotta be some sort of chekhov's gun right?

and shit.... april was so fucking mad casey took the babies out so she's going to EXPLODE when she finds out what happened to her baby boy, her beloved favourite, her baby odyn :''(( im giggling rubbing my hands together waiting for the fallout but also if she cries i might cry too. speaking of april, she seems to be working on a new project and i saw nano particles mentioned - are we going to have a roninverse version of nano in this run???? I NEED MY ROBOT SON

as always, casey marie... u have aged like fine wine. u are stunning. disappointed that ur still believing that jiro can do good as a cop when their entire police force and government is corrupt as fuck. just feels very naive of her. i'm excited to see her break down at the concept of losing odyn - in fact i need everyone to mourn this beautiful kid. they tell us so much that shes a super clingy helicopter mom and i am picking up on the strict part, but it would be nice to see more of her just... hugging her kids. holding them. i get why she didnt in this issue but id love more mama casey squishing their cheeks and kissing their foreheads.

i have zero fucking clue what's going on with odyn. im wondering if it's somehow related to nano, or to whatever project April is working on - she says it's to do with clearing the tunnels, but I''m not convinced. who knows, there might be some ulterior motive happening.

this might be long and rambly as shit but since u asked 😋 i really am SAURRRRR excited!!! i really have forgotten what svt cbs were like bc i got so incredibly busy but im SOOO so glad i'm here for it again <33 i haven't participated in anything else like i used to before (i.e: watching all the interviews, keeping up w/ all the appearances n shit 😭), so i haven't seen anything else aside from the mv & medley/did anything aside from listening to the whole EP. HOWEVER!! i can definitely say it well exceeded my expectations! for me svt comebacks just kept getting bigger and better since attacca, and honestly the pre-cb hype and General Good Vibes we were getting from that era just kept getting carried over their more recent releases! i'm glad there's that kind of energy (on my end at least) with their cbs!! and honestly, i'm so so happy to see them getting the recognition their unceasing hard work deserves. they're not a loud group, if that makes sense (like, when u ask ppl outside of korea abt kpop groups they most likely would not mention svt off the bat), but they really are so stable and they're only consistently getting bigger not only because of all the work, but also because of how well they just treat carats as well. it really does feel like we're a team to a certain extent 🥹

honestly my only gripe this time is abt the faded mono life concept bc idk... i feel like the company concept has been used and reused to death (and we've already seen so many similar concepts from the boys), but i also acknowledge that they're trying to fit it all into the fml overarching theme (and the title alone is v smart!!), but i really wish we had a ver with the traditional fits 😔 ALSO ICB I'VE MANIFESTED THIS i literally have been mentioning how i wanted crazy concept photos like the a.c.e hanbok ones to my irl carat friends and seeing it come to fruition makes me feel successful LMFAOO

there r so many things i'm glad abt w this comeback, esp chorus center dino <33 so deserved if i might say so heheheh. (im just going to ignore woozi btw) but i also fear i have cemented my dolly traits 😭 the mv for super was also such a nice surprise to me (but i also feel slightly bamboozled bc, again, this was so diff from the concept photo teasers just like attacca era as well lmfao). AND SPEAKING OF THE MV AND THE SONG ITSELF, I REALLY LIKE HOW SVT SUPER IS??? ik people say svt isn't sticking to their distinct sound anymore, but from the concept (that really speaks a lot about woozi, and which is also giving me a sense of shared childhood bc i also grew up watching dbz lmfao), THE LYRICS, and just the performance aspect of it all... it's so svt to me <333 i fr luv my team and luv my crew. ALSO LOVE THE REFERENCES THEYVE PLANTED IN THERE, everything's really well thought of. the composition of the song itself too is so fresh to me, i love how they structured the song and the way there r sm variations!! the double title track was also a smart choice it JUST makes so much sense

tracklist wise, i'm generally pleased with all of them tbh <33 also liking FML (the title track) a lot more than i expected!!! i was expecting to like it the least ngl, but not bc she's a shite track but the Sound we got from the medley just wasn't what i usually gravitate to. i expected it to be 'FML 👹' and not 'fml 😔' based on what theyve been saying tbh NDNJDJD i also fucking LOOOVE fire so much, as a noise enjoyer she's my top song rn <33 i really appreciate how they gave us a more varied sound this time around (while still being cohesive), and i really think they were able to highlight each unit's strengths so well. ALSO OBSESSED W THE PERF U SONG <333 they really never fucking miss!!! that being said though i hope we get more crazy subunits in the future (i.e: a diff mix of members) <33
