“I know I won’t be able to get over it.” He whispered, voice more fragile than he’d like. He wasn’t sure about the level of truth he felt was in Touya’s words - on one hand, Touya would never lie to him, but then Shoto wasn’t sure he’d done that much.

“I’ll always be strong for you, Touya-nii.” Shoto nodded. “.. but what are you going to do?”

He is six years old and his life has already fallen apart. There’s a scar over his eye, accompanied by slightly blurry vision, and he’s isolated from the rest of the world in the name of training to become a hero.

He is six years old and the only company he has had in a while is the harshness of his father and the memories of his mother’s gentle kindness which has been overridden by memories of the insanity dancing in her eyes and the hot water on his face - burning, burning, burning. 

Today is the first time he has left home in a while without his father, accompanied by his older sister - she’s the only one of their siblings allowed to be around Shoto and even then, there are restraints. The only reason they weren’t at the house - it wasn’t his home, it wasn’t her’s either - was because his father was overseas on hero business.

Shoto had never been more thankful, even if his faith in heroes is almost non-existent. People like his father who call themselves heroes are fake, but he can’t say that - they’d label him a villain, a liar, a child trying to rebel against what should be a loving father but has become anything other than that.

Fuyumi is watching him as he sits in the grass, not wanting to be around the other children at the part. He’s a shy child, likely due to his lack of human contact, so being around others isn’t always something that makes him happy. He doesn’t mind, though.

He’s more than happy to sit and weave flower crowns in the little time he has.

Tag changes:

I have a new tag for any verses that will not be main verses on my blog (i.e ones without a specific page for them). The “swap au” is incorporated into this tag, although the vampire hunter verse (with fyrianfiend) remains with its own tag -  ic; ѕσмєтнιиg α ℓιттℓє мσяє иєω (unspecified au)

The tags for “villain” and “traitor” verses have been merged into one tag (however. the Reverse AU still has its own tag as it is very separate) - ic; ωαт¢н тнє ωσяℓ∂ вυяи (villain au)

The “child verse” tag has now been changed to a “pre-ua verse” tag and covers everything from before the first day of school (quirk test) -  ic; тнє ¢нιℓ∂ ι σи¢є ωαѕ (pre-ua verse)
