@sparklytimebun liked for a starter !
ʀᴘᴍ. ❝ so you're telling me i'm not the only one that had the big bad trying to control me to take down my team? ❞ dillon's brows raise a little - his head tipping as he sips at the water in his hands , much less perturbed at suddenly finding himself in a different universe and time .

The HayRay fic pt. 3
I’ll post this on AO3 eventually… Parts 1 & 2 here.
Dillon always assures Lucas it’s perfectly natural, as does his therapist, during the occasional appointment Lucas still has with her. But Dillon also knows it frustrates Lucas to no end, the way his body and mind still carry the weight of everything that happened.
“Do you know what day it is?” Lucas asks eventually. He sounds tired, world-weary, each word scraping over his vocal chords. His Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows.
The question catches Dillon off-guard. He glances at the opposite wall, where the clock sits above the kitchen sink, its hands like the parody of a smile as it slowly creeps towards 2am. “Monday?” he asks, confused.
Lucas barely suppresses an eye roll at his answer. Warmth licks at Dillon’s rib cage instantly in response, pleased by the presence of Lucas’ typical snarkiness despite the levity of the conversation. “What date, Dillon?” Lucas amends.
Dillon blinks. He mentally flips through his calendar, through his work schedule, through birthdays and holidays and - oh. His eyes snag on the calendar by the fridge, the bold lettering barely visible in the dim light. Anniversaries.
The warmth in his chest dissipates, replaced by a creeping frost, ice lancing through each capillary of his lungs.
The realisation must show on his face, as Lucas rolls his lips into his mouth, eyebrows twitching up in resigned concession. Dillon’s brain supplies the memory of a sixteen year old Lucas in a white hoodie, alcohol on his breath and Dutch courage in his bloodstream, looking despondent after Dillon had pulled away from him — the only time Dillon had been the one to pull away first.
“I didn’t realise,” Dillon says lamely.
Lucas’ thumbs sweep soothing arcs over Dillon’s hipbones. “I know,” he says easily, without resentment.
It’s not something Dillon thinks about often. What happened at the folly. Not because he wants to pretend it didn’t happen — because it did, there’s no point in acting otherwise. But because their relationship is so much more than that, made up of thousands of moments over the years that make that one horrible memory pale in comparison.
It all unspools like a movie reel in Dillon’s mind. The first time they met, an angelic face marred by a scowl, a soft voice hardened by harsh words. The twist of their fingers, stiff from the cold, on a winter’s night, rough brick against their backs through their jackets. What felt like a hundred almost-first kisses, and the yearning that hummed through Dillon’s veins for months on end. Their actual first kiss, the starburst of fairy lights in the corner of Dillon’s vision.
Everything that came after that. The spill of hot tears over Lucas’ cheeks when Dillon left for uni. The peal of Lucas’ laughter echoing through the train station as Dillon span him in circles when Lucas followed him to Manchester a year later. The taste of vodka on Lucas’ tongue, bass vibrating through their bones and the press of bodies on a dance floor. Slow mornings on their couch with old reruns on Netflix, dregs of tea in their favourite mugs and toast crumbs on the coffee table. Family FaceTimes and weekends away, long car journeys and grocery shopping.
Their life.
Dillon made his decision the same day he left the hospital, ribs broken and heart shattered. He hasn’t changed his mind since: he’ll stand by Lucas for as long as Lucas will have him.
He’s thankful to whatever higher power that’s at work that Lucas hasn’t changed his mind yet either.

XXPOSUREETV'S Week With Denzel Curry
By Mary Gordon
Back in May, I met Denzel Curry at his OnTheRadar performance with A$AP Ferg and Tia Corrine. I was there shooting with the Sewer Sounds and caught some dope BTS that became vital to the roll out of their single “Hot One” on King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2.

When Denzel touched down in New York to promote the album, he hit my line and we got to work. We headed over to the Brewery Studio in Brooklyn for a session. DJ Kal Banx & Artist Dillon Cooper stopped by the session to catch up with the Mischievous rapper as his album release date approached.
Aside from promoting the new release, Denzel was excited to explore New York City. We took him over to LAAMS where we chopped it up with manager, Stevie Skytel. Denzel broke down the history of Raider Klan, their influence in the industry, what worked, and did not work for the group. Using this as a formula and blueprint, Denzel Curry is building the foundation of Ultraground to be as legendary as Raider Klan.

Wrapping up our conversation, we then stopped by le PÈRE to style ourselves for his upcoming performance happening the very next day. We quickly headed over to Elsewhere for the Glass Animals concert where Denzel was a special guest performer. We ended our night back in the city at a Marc Jacob’s event promoting their new sunglasses.

Countdown to the midnight drop of King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 was celebrated in partnership with SoundCloud and NoStrings. Denzel and members of Ultraground celebrated with guests and supporters bringing to life “Club Mischievous”.
While the streets was buzzing hot with the new album, we posted up live from le PÈRE to celebrate the release of King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2. Denzel performed songs off the album with guest performances by; A$AP Ferg, Tia Corrine, Key Nyata, and PlayThatBoiZay. The event was presented by Pigeons & Planes,
RENEGADE, and le PÈRE. Powered by Monster Energy Ultra.

After the performance we headed over to 42nd street to view the King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 billboard. In celebration of the billboard and album released A$AP Ferg gifted Denzel Curry a cake with “K.O.T.M.S Vol.2” written in icing. We ended the night at Republic Records joining Ferg for a Sewer Sounds X Ultraground session.
A legendary week with legendary people presented to you by XXPOSUREETV 📺🏆‼️

So I recently read this fantastic meta post about the implications of Dally's physical appearance and it really got me thinking about the missed opportunity the movie had when it comes further showcasing one of the book's themes: feeling like an outsider even amongst the people that you love.
All the love to Matt Dillon (I don't think I would be able to appreciate Dally's character as much as I do if not for his portrayal) but Dally's book design really reveals a lot about who he is and what kind of role he's going to play in the story:
If I had to pick the real character of the gang, it would be Dallas Winston—Dally. I used to like to draw his picture when he was in a dangerous mood, for then I could get his personality down in a few lines. He had an elfish face, with high cheekbones and a pointed chin, small, sharp animal teeth, and ears like a lynx. His hair was almost white it was so blond, and he didn't like haircuts, or hair oil either, so it fell over his forehead in wisps and kicked out in the back in tufts and curled behind his ears and along the nape of his neck. His eyes were blue, blazing ice, cold with a hatred of the whole world. Dally had spent three years on the wild side of New York and had been arrested at the age of ten. He was tougher than the rest of us—tougher, colder, meaner. The shade of difference that separates a greaser from a hood wasn't present in Dally. He was as wild as the boys in the downtown outfits, like Tim Shepard's gang
Compared to the other members of the gang receive exposition-like descriptions from Ponyboy in Chapter 1, Dally's physical appearance is emphasized over everything else in his description. Ponyboy goes into a lot of detail about the way that his hair is styled and how blue his eyes are—his face is 'elfish' and his ears are 'like a lynx'. He gets only four sentences about his backstory and current space that he takes up in the greaser-sphere vs in-depth accounts of Steve and Two-Bit's place in the gang and their relationships with everyone else in Ponyboy's life. While you could make the argument that Dally receives this kind of treatment from Ponyboy because he's not from Tulsa like the rest of the gang and could be considered a fairy recent member as opposed to everyone else, I find it interesting that his relationship with Johnny wasn't mentioned at all, which Ponyboy has a lot to say about when the three of them go to the drive-in.
This leads all me to my point: Dally was positioned as an outsider from the very beginning, from both Ponyboy and the narrative. He was an out-of-towner, a greaser meaner and more violent than most of the greasers in Tulsa, with white-blonde hair and piercing blue eyes that no one on his side of town really had. He's from New York and has seen some shit™. He's the one that Ponyboy and Johnny go to after Johnny kills Bob and he loses the will to live after the one person who didn't make him feel like an outsider dies. Whereas everyone in the gang as a somewhat muted color pallet (in terms of hair color and eye color)—Dally kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. Combined with the St. Christopher necklace and skull ring that he wears (heavy on the St. Christopher necklace because it links him and Ponyboy in terms of religion/religious beliefs and their outsider status; I have a lot to say about this later on pls bear with me), I think it would've brought home this critical theme.
So yeah, I think that Dally should've been a true blonde haired-blue eyed menace like he was in the book but also God Bless Matt Dillon

Weirdly, I find myself invested in the fate of Rooster Teeth when I stopped watching most of their stuff years ago, save being weirded out at the Justice League crossover with RWBY (and being infuriated Rooster Teeth animated both parts instead of Part 1 in Remnant being done by Rooster Teeth and Part 2 in Metropolis being done by the people handling DC's current batch of DTV animation). Maybe some of that is enjoying the company that made the hate letter to mecha gen:Lock squirm, maybe some of it is the idea that these properties could have been big if someone had zagged when they zigged, went a different way with a story, etc. Maybe, like a lot of other people, I was just disappointed when RWBY Ice Queendom wasn't a full-on remake of the series done by actual animators in SHAFT vs. what I've dubbed "Rooster Teeth Vision", the Blender-animated visuals that pale to visuals from companies like Studio Orange. But I think I'm just attracted to concepts that never got over the hump, the franchises, and films that die in development, the incomplete behind-the-scenes stories, etc.
I think after seeing everyone talk and the discussions of who's interested in buying RWBY from statements and podcasts, I have some good news and some bad news, depending on your opinion on the franchise.
The good news - There is definitely someone interested in buying RWBY (maybe not gen:Lock).
The bad news - Given that Warner is only allowing Rooster Teeth its 60-day sunset period to find a buyer for the IP before taking over proceedings and selling it directly, that potential buyer probably has zero interest in hiring Dillon Goo, the CRWBY, and probably wants to call a do-over on the franchise. A full-on reboot is going to happen if someone buys after the 60 days are up.
I've gone over options in other posts for potential homes for RWBY if Warner declares open season from the likely (Crunchyroll/Sony facilitating a sale to a Japanese partner, given their own disinterest in owning IP vs. being a middleman) to the less-likely but vastly different (A mobile game company turning the IP into the basis for a gatcha game in the vein of Honkai Star Rail or Genshin Impact) to the "Utterly goddamn hilarious but not likely" (Nacelle buying the IP and making RWBY the centerpiece of their shared universe with the likes of the Biker Mice from Mars, the C.O.W.Boys of Moo Mesa, and Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion). But in pretty much every scenario, from the mundane to the ridiculous, one thing remains consistent.
No one who buys RWBY after the 60-day time period is going to have any interest in continuing the series from where it left off. At most, Dillon Goo seems to be positioning himself as the guy to hire as a showrunner/property steward for the potential reboot no matter who the new owner is.
But that might be a bit of a blessing.
Even if you're a fan of RWBY, I point to the utter disaster that was HBO Max's attempts at continuing gen:Lock after its first season did OK on Toonami, but was a lightning rod for the practices that affected Rooster Teeth, ranging from employee abuse to embezzlement. The second season was an utter disaster. What are the odds that an attempt to pick RWBY up where it left off wouldn't suffer the same issues? To that I say, just reset it rather than let its corpse shamble about.
As for gen:Lock, I'll give you $10 for it. Sell it in the next 72 hours and I'll throw in a keychain absolutely free.

The History of the World Begins in Ice
I’m delighted to announce that, in Summer 2024, Fairwood Press will be publishing a collection of stories and essays from the Spiritwalker (Cold Magic) universe, titled
THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD BEGINS IN ICE:
Stories and Essays from the World of Cold Magic.
That’s right! A collection of fiction and non fiction from and about my Afro-Celtic post-Roman icepunk adventure set in an alt-fantasy 19th century Earth alongside a perilous spirit world, and including Phoenician spies, well-dressed men, revolutionary-minded women, and of course lawyer dinosaurs.
The collection will be published in a trade paperback edition and an ebook edition. It will contain eleven stories and eleven essays, as well as an introduction by N.K. Jemisin.
Each story will have an illustration by a different artist. The collection will include “The Secret Journal of Beatrice Hassi Barahal” with all 28 of the original Julie Dillon illustrations, previously published only in a 300 copy chapbook edition. Here’s the narrator of the trilogy, Cat Barahal, as drawn by Julie Dillon.
Tumblr media
Nine of the eleven stories were previously published. The other two are being written specifically for this collection.
If there is enough interest, Fairwood Press will produce a limited edition deluxe hardcover edition with two extra color plates (by Julie Dillon), a fold out triptych (by Kelsey Liggett), and a chapbook insert of the infamous smut chapter, “Chapter 31.5,” from Cold Fire. I can’t promise exact figures (and recent cost of paper increases may mean my guess is way out of date) but likely in the $40-50 range for a book of about 100,000 words.
You can express interest here (comment below or reply via email) or by writing directly to Fairwood Press. If you are interested, please (if you can) write in as soon as possible since creating a deluxe edition will take additional work, monetary investment, and time (that we would be delighted to take on).
Pre-order information will come as soon as it is available.
I first started thinking in autumn 2018 about producing this collection with a Fall 2020 publication date to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the publication of Cold Magic. Events conspired against me at the time, by which I mean I didn’t have the energy or time to move forward with it.
So I am incredibly thrilled to work with Patrick Swenson and Fairwood Press to bring this long-dreamt-of project to life and share it with all of you Spiritwalker fans.

Indy Fuel Steal One Over Nalers, 6-5
Tumblr media
Wednesday night's game at Indiana Farmers Coliseum is one that slipped away from the Wheeling Nailers, as they earned one point, but missed out on a second one against the Indy Fuel. The Nailers got the first two goals of Dustin Manz' pro career, including a go-ahead strike at the 10:57 mark of the third period. However, Indy battled back with a power play goal during the final minute of regulation, then won the game 6-5 in overtime on Andrew Bellant's second marker of the night. Dillon Hamaliuk also had a big performance for Wheeling, as he returned to the lineup with four points. Both offenses came ready to roll, as each team put a pair of tallies onto the scoreboard for a 2-2 draw in the first period. Indy struck first at the 6:57 with a bit of puck luck. Victor Hadfield let a wrist shot go from the left point, which got tipped by both Ryan Gagnier and Kyle Maksimovich, with Maksimovich being the last to touch the puck from the left side of the crease. Davis Bunz netted the first equalizer for the Nailers, as he wound his way around the back of the net and into the left circle, where he thrust a wrist shot through Mitchell Weeks. The Fuel temporarily regained the lead with 2:33 remaining, when Andrew Bellant went end-to-end and lifted a backhander into the top-left corner of the twine. Wheeling answered just 46 seconds later, when Dillon Hamaliuk accepted a pass into the trapezoid, then turned with a wraparound, which he placed between Weeks' legs. The two sides continued to mirror each other in the middle frame, as a couple of power play strikes were exchanged. The Nailers took their first lead of the night at the 1:49 mark. Dustin Manz found some open space to skate across the ice and into the right circle, where he swept a wrist shot across his body and into the left side of the net for his first professional goal. Indy's man advantage marker came with 9:57 left, when Ross MacDougall flew a center point wrist shot into the top-left corner of the cage. The back-and-forth battle kept on going in the third period, and more offense came with it. Tanner Laderoute cut in behind the defense and lifted a backhander into the top-left corner to put Wheeling ahead at the 2:26 mark. 1:50 later, Maksimovich answered with a tying goal for the Fuel, as he found an opening on the left side for his second of the evening. The Nailers regained the lead with 9:03 remaining, shortly after a power play had expired. Hamaliuk collected his fourth point of the match by delivering a backhand pass through the slot to Manz, who slammed in his second career marker with a one-timer from the left circle. Wheeling nearly got the game to the finish line, but a last-minute penalty led to extra hockey, as Andrew Bellant got the puck to bounce in off of a Nailers player with 21 seconds on the clock for a 5-5 tie. The contest got decided at the 3:58 mark of overtime, when Bellant took a pass from Brett Bulmer and picked the top-left corner for the 6-5 Indy win. Mitchell Weeks picked up the victory in goal for the Fuel, as he made 19 saves on 24 shots. Garret Sparks received the overtime loss for Wheeling, as he allowed six goals on 32 shots. The Nailers will play their final four regular season games on home ice, starting on Friday night at 7:10 against Fort Wayne. That is a Frosty Friday with $2 beers, plus IWC returns for a second Wrestling Night. Also coming up this week is a Screen Time Sunday at 4:10 against Indy, in which one lucky fan will win a free TV courtesy of Walmart. That day will also feature a post game skate with the entire team. Fan Appreciation Night on April 13th is the final Big Six Promotional Game of the season, which will feature all sorts of prizes, including one grand prize winner, who will receive a trip to Put-In-Bay. The Wheeling Nailers, considered one of the top things to do in Wheeling, West Virginia, provide affordable family entertainment for fans throughout the Ohio Valley. Power Rangers RPM Headcanons
Ziggy has ADHD and Dyslexia (In Ghosts he’s shown to be a poor navigator and on more than one occasion gives the wrong left/right direction, possibly because he has a hard time determining which is which)
Dr. K, Gem, Gemma, and Dillon all have autism.
Dillon experiences hyposensitivity to pain, heat, and cold.
Though his upgrades make him more powerful they do not protect him from damage. After battles he has to search himself for injuries.
His attachment to wearing long-sleeves is a bit dangerous in the summer because he doesn’t notice the heat so he’s prone to heat cramps and heat exhaustion when they’re all running around or just outside for long periods of time when it’s really hot.
Dr. K loves the cold and enjoys keeping her lab near frosty temperatures, which Ziggy complains about because he’s got poor circulation and is cold easily.
Ziggy is transgender and he chose his name from an old newspaper cartoon series.
Ziggy shares Flynn’s love of comic books and they both geek out with each other frequently.
Dr. K has insomnia and eventually her and Dillon start hanging out at night when neither can sleep. They usually watch TV and eat ice cream.
Dr. K thought Scott was the 10 on the ‘Cuteness Scale’.
Post-Series Dillon has a bit of an identity crisis and ends up piercing his ears and getting a few tattoos, mostly flowers.
Dillon and Tenaya’s upgrades start failing a few years post-series. Dillon’s decline much faster because he was generation seven and she was upgraded later in the series. They have to have certain implants removed to retain movement and prevent infection. Tenaya loses her sight and Dillon gets nerve damage in his arm and shoulder.
Scott’s brother Marcus is buried next to their mother. Scott visits the graves three times a year, on Marcus and his mother’s birthdays and on Mother’s Day. Sometimes he finds flowers that he assumes are left by his father. However, Dillon is prone to visiting the graveyard as it’s a quiet place and he always stops to pay his respects.
Gem and Gemma have a strangely touchy relationship with Dillon mostly built upon their love for battle and all things physical. The first time the other rangers walk in on them all wrestling, they originally assumed they were genuinely fighting. But they just like to tussle.

Aubrie Graham put her head in her hands and sighed. Another lost lead, and five missing persons cases needed attending, not to mention the other twelve that had just come in.
She felt a slight chill as someone opened the front door to the station, and walked briskly over to Aubrie's desk. She looked up to a smiling Emily Dixon holding out a coffee cup. Aubrie took it gratefully and sighed.
"I swear if one more person in this town goes missing I'll walk out," Aubrie said sipping her scalding hot coffee. Emily frowned and took the seat in front of her desk.
"I'm sure you'll find something soon. So don't worry about it."
"I know, but it's so frustrating. The victims simply disappear into thin air and the only lead we had gone missing last night." Fast footsteps echoed through the room and a man wearing a cowboy hat, whom Aubrie recognized as Dillon Kennedy the sheriff, pushed through the front doors cursing on his way out.
"What do you think about that?" Asked Emily standing up and stretching.
"Maybe a lead?" Suggested Max who stopped at Aubrie's desk to drop off paperwork.
"Or the Feds." Aubrie snapped as she glowered at the stacks of paperwork sitting in front of her. And now there was an endless pile to her left and right. She would definitely be staying for overtime tonight.
Suddenly a loud slam interrupted Aubrie's train of thought as the sheriff walked in with a man and a woman in suits following close behind. The three of them leaned closer to the group to see if they could overhear anything. Aubrie frowned as she realized what was going down in the back office. The blinds were partially open and everyone could see that the sheriff was not happy.
The two departed after what looked like ten minutes of the sheriff's ranting. They didn't seem too happy either.
"What do you think that was?" Asked Max, turning back to the women as if searching their faces for an answer. He was a new hire and had yet to know about how things ran around here so of course, he was a bit confused.
"Well, the FBI must be taking over the case from the looks of it." Said Emily taking a sip from her now ice-cold coffee. She grimaced at the taste and threw it into the trash can next to her desk. Max seemed to be still mulling over the fact that the FBI had taken over a case.
"Then does that mean you won't be able to oversee any of the evidence? And won't you have to hand over what you have to the agents?" Asked Max who was now looking out the window at the flurries of snow falling onto the ground.
"I would, but the problem is that there is no evidence." Remarked Aubrie. "They all just up and disappeared." She took another drink of her coffee and grimaced at the taste. She pushed her cup to the edge of her desk and laid her head down on her paperwork.
"Well, I'm sure something will turn up soon." Said Max with a nervous smile as he walked away leaving the two in silence.
Aubrie raised her head when the doors at the front of the station were thrown open, a large blast of icy wind knocking half the papers off of her desk and onto the floor. She bent down to grab them and saw feet moving towards the Sheriff's office. It must be the agents, she thought to herself as she placed her papers back onto her desk. This time they were whispering. The Sheriff moved his head and spotted Aubrie. He immediately beckoned to her when his eyes landed on her. She quickly stood up and went to his office.
"Is there something you want from me, Kennedy?" She said sweetly. The Sheriff shot her a glare and gestures to the FBI agents who were staring out the window at the swirling snow.
"I want you to take these two around the crime scenes and show 'em around. Give 'em the reports too. Oh! And go over the suspect too." He said sitting down and rubbing his forehead.
Aubrie turned her attention to the FBI agents whose eyes were on her now and shook her head. Guess I'm back on the case then. She thought as she gave them a smile.

PLASTIC HEARTS — ALL
Synopsis: what the characters are like in the mornings since I’m currently writing this at midnight lol + I feel like ask memes are really underrated and they’re quick to write so I’m open to those too amongst the 100 of other things I have on my list/have yet to write (typical writing probs lol)
Tumblr media
Jordan: I feel like with Jordan is either 50/50 with him. If he has to be up pertaining to football then he’s up and determined! it might take him like 2-5 mins more extra in bed to fully get up if his parents (more so billy) don’t drag him out of bed but he still manages to get up and function somehow. If he’s partying the night before then that’s a different story, he’s always hungover and feeling that shit the next morning so he’ll move super slow and will be late to class/grumpy as hell. He’s either happy and functioning well making sure he’s getting a meal regardless if he’s in a good mood in the morning or not cause the boy likes to EAT (just like Michael’s ass) + if there’s no food at the house best believe he’s cruising to a cafe to get him a meal before heading to boredom high—I mean Beverly
If he’s in a crap mood then he’s mean to everyone in his path. It’s best to leave him alone and let him sulk in his corner until he’s out of his grumpy mood which he does get out of...eventually after arguing with someone or snapping on them, taking a nap in the back of class, or after football practice.
Olivia: I’m squinting as I’m thinking this over. I don’t really think she’s a morning person? but she sets her alarm for herself and can get up in the morning without the help of her parents unlike Jordan lol. She is the type to set her alarm ten minutes before she actually has to get up so she can get extra time in the comfort of her bed. It takes the girl some time to get ready in the morning okay? Have you seen her hair? It takes time to get it right for how she wants it and she always says she should pick her outfits the night before but she always seems to get side tracked so that never happens which also takes up more of her time. Eventually she almost always makes it downstairs before Jordan does. They DON’T ride to school together, hardly, unless one of them has a issue with their car or something but they’re usually doing their own thing but have some sort of conversation in the morning over breakfast—trying to build the closeness of their relationship back
Liv likes to be on time if she can or just right on time, either or. And if things come up, then she’s a little anxious which she normally is until she’s meeting up with someone she can hold a conversation with. Half of the time there’s no need to be anxious? It’s just there and she hates it despite the lonerism she found herself in
Spencer: I think Spencer can be a light sleeper since he’s used to some sort of noise going on in his house. Plus his room is in the center of where the noise will take place. If it’s too quiet, like it usual was at the baker’s he finds it a little hard to sleep all the way? There has to be something going on for him to fully sleep like the light noise of tv? Or a sound machine. James said he was the same way as a baby, always alert. So when he wakes up in the morning, he always lets out a soft sigh closing his eyes letting the alarm go off for a few more seconds before he smacking it off. He has to get in the shower to fully wake him up tho. If he doesn’t take a shower in the morning then he’s not fully up and if he doesn’t take a shower at night, he knows he’s not going to sleep well either.
If he has to walk Dillon to school, then he doesn’t mind being late. Now that Dillon is getting older he doesn’t mind walking on his own or with a friend or two but being the protector that Spencer is, he’s going to try his best to make time for Dillon no matter what and the boy secretly appreciates it but understands now if it can’t be all the time. Spencer doesn’t have his license so he’s either catching the bus (if he was still going to Beverly, Jordan or Liv would scoop him up ofc) or speed walking to school which he seems to make just in time?? Always.
Layla: I always view her as someone so chipper. She IS a morning person (unless the depression is hitting her hard, some of us have those days) and usually has it together. She’s a big planner and if she doesn’t continue with being a producer like her dad in the future, I can see her being a event planner big time. Anyways she’s usually very organized, outfits steamed and hung up for the week, weekly calendars and reminders in her phone. Alarm’s set since she’s the only one in the house and only has herself to depend on. I feel she does take a lot on her plate for a teenager so she tries her best to follow a routine/schedule most of the time. Wake up. Stretch. Slippers. Robe. She does not check her phone until after she is done taking care of herself! Brush teeth. Shower. Skincare. Get dressed. Does hair. Checks phone on her way downstairs to breakfast. Layla is a açaí bowl or oatmeal kinda girl, fight amongst yourselves. I see it. I manifest it. She always has to have her hands in something and when it comes to breakfast and baking, you can count on her to always make something. It became something she loved since her mom and her always did that together. And she often likes taking the long way to school and the long way back home.
Asher: not a morning person. Never on time unless it’s for football on Saturday mornings. he’s a cereal kinda guy since his dad can’t afford a professional chef anymore. His favorite cereal is probably Rice Krispies with strawberries and wh*le milk or cashew milk if he remembers to buy it from the grocery app. I feel like he would eventually have to get a job his senior year since it’s kind of a struggle with his dad settling into his new job. It’s a big adjustment with his parents divorced and although his mom still slips him money when he see’s her every other weekend, he’s more tired than he ever was before. He’s used to sleeping in cars if he’s not in a king sized bed but can pretty much sleep everywhere. He can sleep through anything and always has multiple loud ass alarms to wake him up since his dad is either gone before he wakes up like before or just about to leave for his new job. He never bothers to wake him anyways. Asher is a grumpy grouch in the mornings and is addicted to ice coffees and loves a good pastry if he can’t have himself some cereal in the morning.
He’s also annoyed if he doesn’t get his cartoon’s in too before school. Don’t bother him until mid-morning, early afternoon if you know what’s good for you.
Coop: if she’s something else when she’s angry what do you think she’s like in the mornings? Annoying either way? Probably lmao. She’s probably a talker in the morning expressing some wild ass dream she had or either how she had a sucky night and couldn’t sleep properly so she was up writing a new song or something. Since she’s dropping out of school, her mornings could probably start later around 11am? Unless her mother is still home and making her get out of bed to run errands with her or clean the house while she’s gone for the day? Either way she’s probably dancing, talking your head off, blasting music as she gets ready, or browsing Twitter as her form of “morning news”
Chris: I get night owl vibes from Chris. Which is more difficult to do in high school, whew! He has to use melatonin spray or cream to help him knock out and if it fully doesn’t help, he’s dragging the next morning once he fully crashes. Sometimes it can be a good morning or it can be a sucky one. Due to his injury, he gets occasional pain in his joints which he keeps a secret from mostly everyone from his team since they were only described as spasms from his doctor. He deals with it even if it freaks him out from time to time. If it’s a sucky morning, he has to wake himself up with a splash of water to the face and then tending to the pain in his joints before carrying on about his day.
I do think he’s on his phone a lot. Before bed, actually watching soothing videos to help him knock out—don’t tell anybody that and then checking his phone again when he wakes up. Which is apparently unhealthy for the mind but hey with technology continuing to take over, what can you do?
Patience: the girl doesn’t care if she’s late or early. All that matters is trying to get through the day. She’s not crazy about getting up early to sit in 7-8 classes a day but if she’s got to do it, then she’s going to take her time. She wasn’t named “Patience” for no reason okay? When it comes to her appearance, she’s going to make sure she puts in the effort because if she looks good then she feels good and can go about her day. Most of the time she takes a quick breakfast with her on her bus ride to school (thanks to her hair not doing what she wanted it to) and then if there’s time heads to the cafeteria to get whatever they’re serving for breakfast there. At least that’s better than the lunch they serve there.
JJ: total morning person! Or if he’s not? You can never tell. The guys always in the best mood. Even if he was out partying and doing too much the night before, the dude is never hungover. Everyone wants to know his secret. And when he tells them, they don’t believe it. He’s usually a slob of a eater but he also knows how to take care of his body and all about his protein shakes and juicing. He definitely has a meal plan that he takes the time to post on his Instagram stories. The guy loves Instagram and is always posting there. If you need positive words of affirmations, JJ is your guy. Check his stories or if you run into him in person he’s all hugs and uplifting you to get through the day. He’s the guy you need around if you need it. If you don’t want to be bothered? Make sure he doesn’t see you and keep your distance because he will tackle you down and turn into DJ Khaled on your ass.
Simone: she hates mornings and thinks it’s cruel to be up five days of the week for. If she physically feels like she can’t get up due to intense studying or up binge watching real housewives or whatever, she knows it the night before and puts her plan into motion the next morning. Her parents are usually always on her ass, especially her mom so it takes a lot of persuading to let her stay home. And it still doesn’t feel like a free day because her mom is checking up on her every hour on the dot from work. She makes it feel like Simone should have just went to school. If the answer is, “there’s nothing wrong with you, you’re going.” Then Simone is definitely in a sour mood. Her dad almost always drives her to school and she checks up on her son every day through socials if she doesn’t message his second mother. Simone’s also not much of a breakfast person but if her dad is making her eat they’re stopping somewhere before he drops her off or encouraging her to take some of whatever dish he made before they leave.
Now? If there’s something on her mind? Then she’s active and stressing over it before she’s talking to someone about it. She’s out getting a light jog on around her gated neighborhood (she’s getting her fitness game back up after deciding to take tennis seriously again) before showering and getting back into bed for at least thirty minutes to forty five before she has to be up for school. Worries erased for now.
Darnell: is a morning person even if he grumbles that he doesn’t care for it. He’s a sunset kinda guy not a sunrise. It’s not much of a issue for him to get up and start the day with a long exaggerated sigh. He’s not as talkative but get something in his belly and he’s bringing up some interesting facts or news about what’s going on with certain celebrities he keeps up with. I also feel like he knows how to cook and breakfast isn’t his speciality but lunch foods are? Grits, eggs, bacon, and jam on toast is his fav thing to eat for breakfast with apple juice. That’s right, apple juice over orange juice no matter what Spence and dil have to say.
His version of appetizers (which are too big of portions but to each their own) are his go to make for lunch. For breakfast if he can’t have his fav meal in the late morning, he always eats light since he says his stomach is too sensitive in the mornings which has been proven to be true...The James’ can vouch for that
Kia: again 50/50. Depends on her night. She’s also someone who is very active in clubs so it all depends when she gets home and how fast she can get things done at home before she can crash. Sometimes she takes a lot on as well but she thrives off it? It makes her feel productive but she also knows how to balance and have free time when she wants to. Her breakfast always consists of fruit, she loves her fruit. And even if she finds herself running late then she quickly adjusts and cuts out what needs to be cut out of her morning routine and get where she needs to be making herself have the time. Which can be good or bad, depends on how you look at it. Kia is great at handling whatever is thrown at her it seems!
Vanessa: Morning person after she’s fully awake lol. Hates how she looks in the morning, thinks her face is too puffy and definitely uses a jade roller no matter what to help. Her mom is always on her ass + she’s a coach so just imagine that on top while struggling to get up. However once she’s settled, she gets this burst of energy—coach montes believes it’s “the vitamins” and “always eating properly” but the small girl always seemed to get random bursts of energy throughout the day no matter the circumstance. loves a food bagel or pastry for breakfast with orange juice or water, either is fine. She especially loves sunny mornings in California, it just makes her feel better—as it should. She even thanks the sun when it greets her face. Which is something she used to do as a kid too.
Fin.
A/N: I apologize for any typos in advance. It’s now 2am, phones about to die and it’s surely time to crash. Goodnight/morning wherever you are in the world and I’ll fix what needs to be fixed later lol. Feel free to send me ask memes for this week if you want when I do have the energy to write. Toodles!

Hi ! Was Axel von Fersen really a lovely man? What opinions did the French have about him? Thanks !
Hm, I'm not sure if I have the best answer to this question, since I actually don't think I've ever read anything that mentioned the French public's perception of him. From what I HAVE read, I do not believe that the French public were particularly interested in him or knew much of his existence.
During Marie Antoinette's trial, he was mentioned when she was questioned about Varennes, as he was named as the person who supplied the Bourbons with a carriage to leave Paris in. I actually have a book in front of me, Marie Antoinette's Darkest Days by Will Bashor, who claims "This answer [Marie Antoinette agreeing that it was Fersen who supplied them with the carriage] would surely have created a commotion in the hall," but I disagree with this statement. During her lifetime, Marie Antoinette was accused of having affairs with the Count of Artois, the Princess of Lamballe, the Duchess of Polignac, the Duke of Dillon, the Duke of Coigny, the Baron de Benseval... there are probably more, but rumors of Marie Antoinette having an affair with the Count Fersen stem more from Count Fersen's journal mentioning sleeping with a woman named Josephine which some people hypothesize to be Marie Antoinette (one of her middle names is Josepha, but when she married into the Bourbon family, she translated Josepha as Josèphe, not Josephine, but they are similar names). Regardless, that wouldn't occur until the 19th century.
I think it's a fair assumption to say that since Marie Antoinette was accused of sleeping with most of her friends, and the fact that Fersen rumors didn't emerge during her lifetime, the French court did not find him to be particularly offensive. There are memoirs left by 18th century courtiers that do mention Fersen, since some people were miffed that the Queen had a Swedish man in her intimate circle while she left so many French nobles out. Contemporaries did describe him as "le beau Fersen" (handsome Fersen), although tbh, I think the physical qualities he had were more attractive to 18th century eyes than 21st century haha. These are some contemporary descriptions of him: he had a "most gentleman-like air", "a burning soul with a shell of ice", "one of the best-looking men I ever saw", "like the hero of a novel", and "like an Apollo". (I found all these quotes in Royal Romances by Leslie Carroll). Character wise though I would say he was a lovely man, just based off of how dedicated he was to saving Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, even though they were not his sovereigns, although in my opinion I do not think the 18th century French court thought that having a good character was all that important. So I guess the conclusion is that the French court saw him as attractive, but several people that had felt snubbed by Marie Antoinette did not like that he took a place in her friend group that they felt should belong to one of them.
My guess is that the contemporary French public would like him for fighting with them in the American Revolution, but would not like that he tried to help the Bourbons escape Paris (since they believe they were actually attempting to leave the country all together). Rumors about him possibly being the father of Louis XVII do not seem to have existed during the time period, but if they had, I'm sure the French public would not have liked the future king being an illegitimate child of the queen. At the same time, they did not seem to like anyone associated with being Marie Antoinette's friend, even before the Revolution, so take that as you will. He definitely wasn't as controversial as the Count of Artois.
If you're interested in reading more about Marie Antoinette's relationship with Fersen I would warn you to take everything with a grain of salt [and honestly everything you read about Marie Antoinette should be taken with a grain of salt, as I've noticed with a lot of books that I have about her tend to ignore primary sources in favor of Stefan Zweig's Freudian analysis of her while also giving way too much credence to 18th century "tabloids"]. Even in the Bashor example I gave before, he wrote his own opinion on how the public would've reacted, yet people of that time period did not link the two together romantically, and there is no recording of the public reacting to his name being mentioned, even though the public's live reaction to the trial is documented. Elena Maria Vidal has a blog, Tea at Trianon, (http://teaattrianon.blogspot.com/) that has several posts discussing the origins of the Fersen rumors and why some people would be interested in starting and perpetuating these rumors. She also discusses it in her book Marie-Antoinette, Daughter of the Caesars (her tumblr blog is @emvidal). If you want to read more about Fersen himself, apparently you can buy a copy of his diary (https://www.amazon.com/Diary-Correspondence-Count-Axel-Fersen/dp/1332008852).
Anyway I hope that helps and sort of answers your question! I personally don't believe he and Marie Antoinette had an affair, but I also don't have any reason to dislike him or think he wasn't worthy of her friendship.
