Superdim Sunday: Chapter 2

If pressed, she would agree that it was a little crazy to drop everything to drive two hours in the hopes of ruining Hammer's night. She felt vaguely embarrassed by herself throughout the drive, fingers wrapped a little too tightly around the steering wheel.

At least no one knew what she was doing. Her masked activities were clandestine. She could do embarrassing shit and not have it bite her in the ass.

"I don't have to do this." Ji-Min tested out the thought. "I could go home and just let him run wild until he gets picked up by the cops or a local suit."

…Nope, bad idea. Ji-Min sneered. The steering wheel creaked under her grip. The thought was extremely displeasing.

She couldn't let someone else handle him. That was her role and no one else got to do it. She was going to find out whatever half-baked plan he had pulled out of the garbage can of his mind, and she was going to thwart him.

That was what she'd been doing for months now. The newspapers would say that she was a rogue vigilante, with varying degrees of approval. They said that she was Hammer's mysterious nemesis, a shadow that only emerged when he was free to drag him to justice.

The truth of it was that Ji-Min was a massive hater and she couldn't stand to let Hammer have anything.

She stopped at a gas station in a bad mood and got an offensively large cup of tea from a faded machine. It tasted shit. She tossed it out the window and got bottled water at the next stop. The drive really wasn't that long, except that she was too keyed up to turn up music and enjoy it.

The closer to confrontation she got, the more wound up Ji-Min felt. The tension eventually got so high that she parked the car and did some furious calisthenics. She glared at anyone who looked at her, defensive about what she knew was weird behavior. It was necessary.

Ji-Min had spent a lot of time in the gym since her powers came in. If she didn't blow off steam, she'd find herself breaking things by accident.

Before she started driving again, she checked Hammer's social media. Ji-Min leaned on the side of her car and smacked on gum while she scrolled.

"heY r U ready to GOooooo," he had sent to Sunspot.

She'd sent back a thumbs up and a sparkly moon emoji. "Go to bed. You have a big day tomorrow, boss."

"😔 😩 😩 Y don't u love me anymore and be nice o me?"

"Unfortunately, I'm not your one true love 🔨 💕"

"haha 😂 🔥 😘 ��2 bad!!!"

God, what poor fuckhead was Hammer's 'one true love?' Ji-Min pulled a face and closed the app. Her stomach turned at the thought.

She pushed the disturbing bits away and focused on the eventual crime. If Sunspot was telling him to rest up, then Ji-Min should probably just get a hotel and wait for him to make his move. She sent her sister a text canceling their workout tomorrow morning. Ari sent back a thumbs up and a crying face.

Then she looked up a hotel in the area and checked the price. Feeling spiteful, she logged into Hammer's bank account and sent a $500 transfer to her Swiss bank account. He wouldn't notice. He never did. He might not even know his password. He only ever used his card.

She took a moment to scroll through his recent transactions. Fifty at a gas station, 126 dollars to a pizza place, 7 in ice cream, and a Paypal transfer for 7000 dollars. The note said "clothes."

Her phone chimed. A gray alert came up with some graph and a title about the stock market.

"Oh, fuck," Ji-Min sighed. She opened the app and then went to the settings. She ignored the landing page and its copy of the current stock market happenings. On muscle memory, she opened up the hidden login and typed in the 14 digit code.

The real message showed up.

Warning from Sir Tiger Explosion, it read. Bank robbery this evening in NYC at ….

The tension flooded out of her system. "Again?" Ji-Min snorted. She closed the app and opened up the hater group chat.

Harmes had beat her to it. As she opened it, " 💰 Always love to see someone push the boundaries!!" landed.

Ji-Min cracked a smile. "Innovate. Expand. Boldly go."

"Live laugh love the consistency," said an anon with a pirate hat icon. "Maybe it'll work this time."

"Unlikely," said Harmes. They followed it up with a couple photos of newspaper articles with headlines like "Local Man Attempts to Rob Bank."

Ouch. That wasn't even from the special crimes section. Ji-Min put a crying reaction on the image. Lurkers added crying and laughter reactions as she watched, probably for the same reason.

"Remember when he used the back of his atm withdrawal slip for the ransom note?" Ji-Min typed up. She felt a mean little smile steal across her face.

That got laugh reactions all around.

Feeling better, she shoved her phone back in her pocket and got back in the car. She cranked up the music for the last leg of the drive and arrived at the hotel in a good mood.

She swiped to pay with her Swiss account, and gave a cash tip to the receptionist. She didn't have much to bring in- a gym bag with her change of clothes and kit, as well as the bare basics like a toothbrush and hair supplies. She took her time getting ready by putting her hair up and stacking it with the pins that would support her mask later. When she was done, Ji-Min shrugged on her coat and went for a walk.

She spent an hour casing the city before she decided what to do with her time. Ji-Min got a table at a French restaurant for dinner and ate filet mignon and rabbit. She kicked back in a private corner with a glass of red wine and watched the people eat and walk outside. They were all so distant to her.

She'd never really felt like she was part of the crowd. And now…

Ji-Min finished her glass and left her card carelessly on the table while she went to the ladies room. She saw a server bob their head and hurry over to run the card.

In the bathroom, she checked her hair was staying in place and took a moment to stretch, limbering up her fingers and wrists.

She passed an older woman on her way out. Ji-Min could feel the stare. She didn't deign to look back.

With a yawn, Ji-Min collected her card and slipped it back into her bag. She scribbled a $40 tip onto the receipt and left as much in cash.

It was fully dark out by the time she left. Haunting sirens called out in the distance of the night, tattle tailing on some kind of trouble. She was feeling like trouble herself, personally.

'I'm not ready to go back to the hotel just yet,' Ji-Min decided. She felt the pleasant buzz of anticipation, a thrill down the back of her spine. Ji-Min slipped her ear buds in and put on something with a thumping baseline beat. She idly used her phone to search the area as she prowled around the streets. The night air was crisp and the air was so fogged with pollution that she couldn't see a single star. It felt exactly like the kind of night for her to be unleashed.

She wasn't too far away from an interesting target.

The Versace store was closed at this hour, and the lights she could see were off. Ji-Min paused outside with her hands in her pockets, looking up. She turned off the music and slipped her headphones into the case.

She could tell that people were still inside. They were probably counting out money and doing inventory. Ja-Min popped in a breath mint and cocked her head at the building, tracking the faint impressions of body heat where workers were moving inside.

It was easier when there were fewer people around. It took her a few minutes to determine how many people were inside and what floors they were on. She casually walked around to the side of the building. She pulled the mask out of her bag and started attaching it, pulling the pins out of her one by one to attach the ribbons to her hair. When she was finished, Ja-Min pulled gloves out of her pocket and slid them on. As she slipped into the shadows, there was no one and no camera to watch her scale the wall.

She settled on a fourth floor window far from any of the lingering employees.

The subtle, cat-burglar type strategy would be to cut a hole in the glass and silently remove it. Hammer would break it with his fist and crash in– but he'd set up a drone first to record it, of course.

Ji-Min took off her gloves so that she could wedge her nails into the frame and pop it clean off. There was an ugly scrape, but the operation was overall very quiet. Ji-Min hummed with concentration and rotated the frame at an angle to maneuver it into the room. She stepped inside and leaned the window against the wall. Then she blinked in the darkness until her eyes adjusted.

She caught her reflection in a mirror while she put her gloves back on. It was hard to tell with her dark eyes, but her pupils were blown out to nearly subsume her whole iris. That was new. The night vision was one of her favorite powers.

When her gloves were back on, she took out a spray bottle and wiped down everywhere she could conceivably have touched on the frame. Then she finally took a look around.

There were cameras.

If the lights had been on, that would have been some small concern. As it was, Ji-Min casually flipped one off and prowled down the deserted department floor. She'd ended up in the home goods section. She dismissed it entirely and crept silently down the stilled escalator.

There was something so poignantly beautiful about the store deserted, dark, and cold.

This was the closest thing to religion that she ever felt.

The first thing she picked up was a thick bangle. It had the brand name emblazoned on it. "This is fugly," Ji-Min said, lips pulling up into a smile. She clapped it onto her wrist. "I don't even want it." She checked the price and let out an incredulous little giggle. "Incredible." She ran a gloved finger down the display and picked up a ring. "Gaudy." She paused. "This has potential, though."

Ji-Min worshiped in a daze as she slipped rings, bangles, earrings, and hair accessories into her bag. She was faintly tempted by shoes and a red dress, but even in her haze she knew better than to take anything that indicated personal information like her size. She could go to another store and buy what she wanted later.

She ended up with an eclectic mix stuffing her purse to the brim. Some of it she would sell, and some she would wear.

She barely remembered leaving. It was as easy as entering had been. She tucked the mask away and made her way back to her bed for the night.

The hotel room was larger than she needed. She turned the bathwater on and asked room service for a pot of tea. When it arrived, she sat it on the edge of the tub and went through her skin care routine. When she finally slipped into the water, she was perfectly relaxed.

After a while, she thought to snake her arm out to grab her phone and check on Hammer again. He'd changed his profile photo since the afternoon. This one was shirtless. Ji-Min let out an annoyed sigh, but her heart wasn't really in it this time. He'd let on more of the details for his plan since she'd last checked.

"The Planetarium?" Her skeptical voice echoed in the steamy air. "Is this going to be like the thing he did with that Aquarium?"

Just like that, her blood pressure was back up.

I think I saw Taylor Swift and Emily Kinney on the street at different times on my walk back from Safeway today. The grocery market.

Could they be in cahootz?

I've been there since the beginning in 2011. I don't know how the government plans to try and erase those records nor do I know the reason why. I know enough to judge them evil, and strike them down with a sacred sword of heavenly power incarnate in heavenly form presently.

In all reality, I imagine people are going to choose to learn from the Christ rather than deny basic common sense; ironically because most of those people who are being problematic by blameless mistake fancy themselves as extraordinarily rational people. It is for you whom Christianity is for, my friend, the Devil. Christianity proves that you are real by standards of worldly law of men, which is why it is said the evil world is passing away. You died with Christ, as did I, as does anyone who learns what that means, by identifying human nature with the man on the Cross.

Ever since then it's been a quest to pioneer into the world and forge the steel of human power as fast and as painless as possible. The Mayans and peoples of Central America cut down by the conquistador? That is what their way of life demanded of them, just as it does for mine and anyone's, when they are confronted with a new. The main difference is the level of civil technology that makes moral complexity obvious through all the beautiful functions of civilized architecture and design which remind us of this ancient and humble truth.

Want the cavepeople to listen to you? Build a teepee outside and show them you know a better way of life than the cave. That they can too enjoy an even better way of life than that of a teepee if they cooperate presently to be civilized and grow the fruits of labor like corn from the golden haired maiden of the frozen ice mountains our peoples have cultivated, devoured, and amused ourselves with since ages of old. Live like a bachelor.

The universal convenience of Christianity was maintained to be good and always will be because it is in fact just that, and that's why it is expected for pagans of all kinds to accept. Norse, Hawaiians, Central Americans, all people the same. As you can see, cultures are not "required" to destroy their cultural heritage, even if bad people sometimes try to accomplish that, which is always for the same reason Saul wanted to hunt the first Christians on his zealous journey to destroy a community in Damascus.

I doubt it will relate much to the Jews after the big day in our times, but not be out of reach for further information, to access their Truth in Torah. Better to just leave that part in the murky depths and go with something a little more relevant to the Fear of the Lord today.

Death is not something you typically need fear from the civilization anymore. That's the main difference. You still need to fear that in the complicated ways that are invisible that you may not even notice until it is too late, just as our traitorous government in america failed to do when they most certainly should have known. That is the very purpose of their job, and the purpose of which has not yet even dawned on them to atone either.

When the Christ was working properly, you never needed to divert any attention to the lower dangers of your body's senses, but that has finally had a total failure and needs to be replaced. That's what the Way of the Story is for. It is universally compatible with all true faith. False faith is not accepted, meaning money and flesh cannot be exchanged for heavenly currency at all nor at any time. The new heaven and new earth, the Way of the Story, is the superior faith than what we inherited from the old world that Christians have been waiting for to change the programs. Whether you like it or not, I only made the Way of the Story to be helpful to myself and also all people as universally applicable equally at least, and you are free to use it as you please without me and improve upon it at your leisure as well.

Identifiable corruption in the government is unacceptable no matter where you are. You cannot sleep safely at night if your government is corrupt. The smallest crack lets in the most dangerous evil first. Just look around at the present day situation... do you not read the evidence of evil between the lines of reality?

Whatever the case, I would wager my opinion that the message of Christianity should be laundered into something entirely new which won't immediately reference the Chosen People, in any way. Always two layers beneath, a disclosure between.

That way a crucifix won't tempt people to open up that text and start unwittingly delving into forbidden blood magic and distressing all of us out of our minds because of the natural blood affinity maidens have with the magic arts in general. Good goddess maidens, those occult rites were destroyed for good reason... there is a better way to study that knowledge, and you will not find what is forbidden when you look. If you find anything, you will reinvent the problem into something worse, complicated further by having that which was forbidden inspiring it like a vengeful wraith from the past.

Christianity is anesthetic for that kind of pain; paranormal injuries, which affects us all equally as one when we suffer it. That's why the ghosts chose you... you are special in the unlucky way...

That pain is most likely the reason why you hate Christianity, if you do. Christianity's true purpose is in fact to accept that hate with no retaliation, like a baited fishhook love lure from a creepy old guy whose words are suddenly in your mouth. The functional purpose of the religion is to transubstantiate hatred that is sin like an aethereal filtration system for the world (in need of replacement with my new and improved next gen invention in stock individually). The Christian function they serve in general by being in service to the Lord Most High and Christ Jesus on behalf of humanity, happens mainly through the eucharistic sacrament of holy community daily all over the world-- the bread and wine/body and blood ritual during mass-- of Jesus Christ.

Christianity is the armor of the skeptic, the sword of the stoic. It is the chisel of the philosopher, and the ingredients for the epicurean. It is but a thing, and a thing specialized by which only mastery of its function can realize its true purpose in daily life. If you will be angry at Christians, be angry at them for not being good enough for your standards, and never give them a reason to be worse by antagonizing them further.

This is true for all people, but it is the requirement of Christianity to help people from a more primitive age become more civilized and live in the world we have today. Do what you have to do to help them, even if you have to die on a Cross to show them that a man's life is more important than his public image.)

Companies and entities that have severed ties with Russia

So far 69 institutions and large companies have suspended their trade with Russia as a result of sanctions imposed for the military invasion of Ukraine.

The West has imposed harsh sanctions on Russia as punishment for invading Ukrainian territory. As a result, several companies, as well as institutions, stopped their relations with the Russian side.

But let's take things in stride. Apple Pay completely blocked the Russian government and completely withdrew from the Russian market. The same tactics were followed by Audi, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Coca-Cola, Danone, Dell, Dropbox, Ericsson, DHL, Ford (closed all its stores), General Motors, Harley Davidson (finally in spare parts), Jaguar, Lenovo, LinkedIn ( near its complete withdrawal from the Russian market), Maersk (stops deliveries to and from Russia) Mercedes, Nike (closes all its stores), Nestle (closes all 6 factories in the country), Porsche, Renault and Scania . In fact, near its exit from the Russian market is Mitsubishi, which has 141 service centers in the country.

However, these are not the only consequences for the Russian economy, as AMD (computer hardware company) has banned the supply of microchips and will soon ban the supply of graphics cards, Amazon will block all its retail sales, the Adobe announced the closure of its services, Carlsberg has imposed restrictions on exports, Dropbaox will stop operating in a few days, FedEx announced a "block" on all supplies, Intel banned the supply of microchips, Paypal "freezes" Withdrawals from all accounts, Samsung pay has stopped working, as has Playstation and Spotify.

Beyond that, FIFA, UEFA and the Euroleague have imposed penalties, with the first two announcing the expulsion of all Russians from the tournament, while the Euroleague has not yet made it clear whether the Russian teams will be zeroed or if they simply will not fight for the rest of this season.

Eurovision has announced that Russia will not take part in this year's competition, while the FIA has announced that the Sochi Grand Prix will not take place this year, while Russian films will not be screened at the Cannes Film Festival either. The NHL (US Ice Hockey Championship) has also announced that it will block all players from Russia.

Of course, the list does not end here, as BP (British Petroleum) withdrew 20% of its shares from Rosneft, while Shell also terminated its cooperation with Gazprom.

The Cinema 4D application is no longer working, Facebook has blocked all the pages of the Russian media, while Instagram is also blocking the Russian propaganda.

Also, Megogo deletes all Russian movies, Netflix blocks subscriptions and stops producing Russian TV series, while Paramount, which blocks movie distribution, and Sony do the same.

NFTs have also been blocked and Russian and Belarusian user funds are being transferred to Ukraine. Paysera (electronic wallet format) is completely blocked. Nintendo has announced a ban on the purchase of games and applications in rubles, and Parimatch has withdrawn its franchise from Russia.

But in addition to the sanctions, Google, Snapchat and other global market giants are backing Ukraine financially, giving 15 million euros each.

Of course, the effects of sanctions do not only hit the real Russian economy, as cryptocurrencies are also hit. KUNA announced that it will be impossible for the Russians to proceed with "mining" of cryptocurrencies, while CEX IO announced that it excludes from its services the people of the Russian government.

Outside Russia and Swedish IKEA furniture Swedish furniture giant Ikea today announced the suspension of its activities in Russia and Belarus, a move that affects almost 15,000 employees, 17 stores and 3 production sites.

"The war has a huge human impact and also translates into a serious disruption to the production and trade chain, which is why the group's companies have decided to temporarily suspend Ikea's operations in Russia," the group said in a statement to AFP.

The suspension mainly concerns Russia, where the Swedish group has been present since 2000 and is one of the main Western employers. There are only a few suppliers in Belarus and the company has no stores, according to Ikea.

"The catastrophic war in Ukraine is a human tragedy and our deepest sympathy and concern is with the millions of people affected," the group said.

"These decisions will have a direct impact on almost 15,000 employees and the group's companies will ensure employment and income security, offering support to them and their families," said the Swedish giant, which is the number one company in the industry. .

While the Ingka holding company stores account for most of the affected employees (12,000), Ikea has nearly 2,500 production staff, with three factories in Russia producing mainly for the local market.

According to the group, 47 suppliers in Russia and 10 in Belarus are also affected by the decision, which closes the door on any import-export from or to both countries.

Prior to the announcement, Ikea had initially stated that it would keep its stores open in the country, a statement that drew criticism in Sweden.

my turn to make a post asking for money because my mental health is fucked and i don’t have enough money to make it through summer and i have a loan that i need to pay back that i absolutely cannot afford to��

tldr; i joined the stock market this winter, i made big gains and then i attached my self worth to my success, then it started going badly and i got reckless and lost all my initial money, all my profit and the money for the loan i took to use as a lever (10.000SEK, roughly $1000)

yeah i could go on and say i’m gay, my health health is fucked and has been ever since i was a teenager and got bullied for 9 years all throughout school, i probably have some undiagnosed add, i had cancer a couple years ago which certainly didn’t help my mental health, and so on and so forth but must i really?

i need to raise $784 (7450 Swedish kronor as of today April 20th) preferably within a month but really i need to raise a bit more because of the fact that i lost all my money at the stock market, i don’t have any savings to get myself through summer, much less do anything remotely enjoyable this summer like a short trip or having ice cream in the city

Kickstarter FAQ

I’ll be going into more detail explaining tiers and the like once the Kickstarter’s live (it also has a FAQ section I’ll be answering questions in), but here’s a few questions I’ve received/anticipated as I’ve received them for past Kickstarters.

When’s the launch date?

Barring anything unforeseen, the Kickstarter is going to launch on June 30 and wrap up on July 30.

Why are the pledges in Canadian dollars? And why do you always note how much the pledges are versus USD?

Kickstarter requires the pledges to be in the currency of the country of residence of the creator. While I have readers in a number of countries (I think my Australian readers might actually overtake my Canadian readers, which is crazy because a) hockey and b) Australia has about two-thirds the population of Canada), but a significant majority of my readers are American, and, in addition, because the US dollar is an international market signifier, readers are more likely to be used to converting USD into their own currency than they would CAD to their currency.

Are the extras the same thing as the kickstarter story of the week or are they 2 different things? (the asker subsequently sent me a follow-up stating they’d figured it out but it’s a helpful question!)

Two different things! The Kickstarter stories of the week are pretty much identical to the stories of the week you see on tumblr (and later AO3) and Patreon, if you’re subscribed. That is, they’re 500+ word stories written in response to a reader prompt. Kickstarter stories of the week are included in every pledge, as well as being included in the pre-orders and in the post-publication orders via Paypal of any of the published novels.

The Kickstarter extras are only available during Kickstarters (as of my last Kickstarter, previous extras became available through Kickstarter and the month following via Paypal for those who are unable to pledge through Kickstarter) and are always a little more focused in one direction, though they also follow the 500+ word formula. Here’s the breakdown by project:

The upcoming And Then and Between the Teeth: an outside point of view of the events of the novels (one per chapter). Will feature main characters, supporting characters, incidental characters and the like, and focus on their interpretation of David (or Jake!); basically stories that parallel the action of David’s point of view, which is very (very!!!) self-centred and oblivious. (TBD in word count but it’s at least 25,000 based on absolute minimum word count, but is going to absolutely outshoot that — CIFP alone was 31k — so it’ll likely be in the range of 30k to 45k)

And for full transparency so no one feels cheated if they order previous extras and it’s not what they anticipated, here is what the previous extras entail:

Coming in First Place: outside POVs of the events of Coming in First Place: Jake monopolised it then and I suspect he’ll do it again with the next round of POVs. Jake has a lot of feelings, and he likes to express them. (31,000 words)

Thrown Off the Ice: Liam’s POV of the first part of Thrown Off the Ice (from him joining the Oilers to him telling Mike he’ll stay, and Mike’s ‘I don’t believe you’). I think it’s even more explicit than Thrown Off the Ice because, well, Liam’s shameless. We knew this about him. (39,000 words)

You Could Make a Life: 30 Years of Marc and Dan, which is what it sounds like — mostly: 30 short stories over thirty-eight years of their relationship (I did thirty years, can’t make me do them all consecutively!), from being rookie teammates to being fathers of three (okay, two, but they’re counting the rookie they’re billeting) (17,000 words)

What are the projected publication dates for And Then and Between the Teeth?
