Iboga Trip: Get The Most From Your Iboga Retreat Experience

Just wanted to have the opportunity to talk to you about the recipe for a good Iboga retreat experience. Well, there's three things, truth, intent, and action. Well, which one's more important? They're all important.

First, it starts with your truth. Why are you coming to an Iboga retreat experience? Secondly, what is the issue? And having truth is admitting that first of all, there's a problem and there's a reason. We've all heard the term "acknowledging the problem is half of the solution". And I agree with that. You have to know what your issue is before you come to an iboga experience.

So my truth was that I had ptsd and major depression. Is it hard to admit? Yeah. Is it hard to live with? Most definitely. But I knew I had an issue, so I made the choice - because of my truth - to do an Iboga retreat and have an iboga experience.

So the second thing is intent.

What is my intention with the plant medicine of Iboga and having an Ibogaine experience? Well, I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but I had faith and I knew my truth and I knew living the way I was living, it wasn't going to be good. So my intention with the plant medicine of Iboga and my Ibogaine healing experience, I decided with my truth to have a ceremony with an Iboga healing experience and I got truth within my intentions within my ceremony and I found out my truth even though I didn't know a lot of my truth.

My truth came out within my iboga ceremony because I allowed my true intentions to come through and allow the iboga plant medicine to actually work. Because when we go through an iboga ceremony, we don't know what's going to happen in the iboga retreat. This is an iboga ceremony that is like an onion removing layers one at a time and we deal with one thing at a time through our past and we may go back pretty far. But allowing and having the true intentions allows the true plant medicine to work to foreign. Iboga healing to actually work, so we come out of our Iboga healing experience and now we have the final thing is action because we have our truth, we understand what went wrong and our participation within it.

And now we have action.

So in my case, I went home and I had to make some changes, big changes. The people I was hanging around with, were not good for me. The people who I thought were close to me who, I thought loved me, truly did not. And that's hard to deal with. But knowing that if I continue to do that, I was going to get the same outcome. It made a life a lot easier because knowing the truth through my Iboga experience showed me that those actions weren't really good for me. I kept putting faith in others, putting my life into other people's hands... when the truth is I had to start taking charge of my own life. So I did. And when I came back, I quit my job. I got rid of a lot of friends. I started enjoying things though, because when I removed all those people from my life, all of a sudden I had time for me and I count. I never counted before.

I never allowed myself to be important, but now I was important and knowing my truth through the Iboga healing experience allowed me to say no. Most people don't know how to say no, but knowing your truth empowers you, and now that you have your empowerment, you have the ability, the confidence to move forward, and we do and it took some time. It took me a little bit of time. I'm not going to say everything's a magic pill because it's not, but it comes first with truth, your intention and then your action and your action with your truth, and then you have your intention will follow you because it doesn't end with an iboga ceremony. It only begins, because your new life begins and not being depressed or having psychotic thoughts or wanting to end my own life. When that was gone... I just wanted to live.

I've wanted to go out in nature. I wanted to go into the parks, I wanted to have some fun. I want to laugh with my kids, you know, it was a long time since I laughed with my kids, but it came back and you know, there's adjustment periods because my kids had been so used to me being down. My family was so used to me being down that they didn't even know how to deal with me. So it's reprogramming... that everything we do, we have to reprogram because we'd been living a certain way. And that's the action role because you're in control now you have the ability to change everything. If you want a bad life, that's your choice. For me. No, I've always wanted a good life. Now, what's my truth? That was my intention. And with the Iboga experience, it aided me because the ceremony is a huge part, but it gives you the truth. But then you're empowered to do whatever you choose.

Hi, it's Luis Makonza DaSilva from IbogaHealingExperience.com. I'm here in beautiful Whistler, BC wanting to talk to you today about the power of thought.

We have positive thoughts. We have negative thoughts. We choose which one we listen to and which one is going to affect our lives. It's all about choice... choice in the thought, positive or negative. 

I want to share an experience I've had recently, with my Iboga experience in November 2018. I chose to do an Iboga healing experience, I thought it was for the purpose of detoxification, but as always, my experience led me further. 

After I did the detox part of the ceremony, I started to get my visions. What appeared to me was my soul. My soul was standing there with a piece of paper at its throat, looking at me and saying, "Luis, if you don't stop smoking, this is what's going to happen to you." It dropped down the piece of paper and I had a trachea. 

That shocked the bleep out of me. That floored me, completely floored me. 

My soul knew exactly what to show me! When I was a child, my uncle Tony had a fire in his home and was trapped in his home, and ended up with smoke inhalation. He ended up with a trachea. That poor man died on the street because he couldn't breathe through his trachea. My soul knew exactly what to do. It knows me so well that he knew exactly what to show me in my iboga experience.

It showed me the thing that scared the bleep out of me - and that's what it was. That thought, the power of that thought, changed my life forever. 

I smoked for 35 years. November 2018 was the last cigarette I had after that ceremony. I've never had another cigarette. Have I had the cravings for cigarettes? No, because the detox took care of that. 

Have I had the thought, the negative thought of wanting to have a cigarette? Yes, I have. 

But what's happened is that thought comes in, but that positive thought of that trachea from my soul squishes that thought. So I no longer am a victim to the negative thoughts of wanting to have a cigarette. That's the power of thought. So I want you to come to an iboga retreat and have a healing experience and come find out what the power of your thought is. We have to rebalance ourselves. So by doing an Iboga ceremony experience, first of all, after dealing with the PTSD and the medication with prescription drugs. Yeah, let's talk about prescription drugs within your depression and your, PTSD. For myself, I was on probably around $1,500 worth of medications, every month. I needed pills to go to bed, to wake up to, just to function, to have sex. I needed pills for everything. It's the way I lived. There's no emotion, there's no emotion left in you. You're not living at all, you're "functioning". And you know, pharmaceutical companies were that while at least they're functioning and they're out there. They can work, work and you know, raise account, but you're not. You're not present in your own life. So you're not really in your own reality. You're a drug diversion of yourself within your life and is brutal.

So how do we fix this? Well, first of all, an Iboga healing experience. What's going to do is detox you so the detox will clear out all the pharmaceutical drugs in your system without you having to do go through that detox because generally when you detox off pharmaceutical drugs, it is brutal. Yeah, I'd put on some weight, big deal. I can lose weight, but the greatest thing I ever did was get my connection with my soul and now I can, enjoy other people, enjoy my kids, my parents. Now, I can have an understanding of other people in life.

And I, and I determine who's coming into my life if I don't like, what you're all about,  I say, yeah, no, I don't want any of that. It's my choice, you know, we're all made in the image of the creator. We create whatever we want. I personally choose a healthy lifestyle and healthy people surrounding me. So. Okay, so when I finished my experience with Iboga, my personal iboga healing experience. And I came back and started being with my children. I started living again, smiling, you know, enjoying fruit like everything you know with the prescription that everything didn't taste well. I didn't enjoy life. Hi, it's Luis Makonza Da Silva, from Iboga healing experience.com. We're here in beautiful Muskoka today, fall, my favorite time of year... a time of change. And I like to take a little bit of time and talk to you about mind, body, and soul.

We've all heard the term mind, body, and soul. What does it mean? Which is more important? Is it mind, body, or your soul? Well, the most important is your soul. And uh, we've been all been taught to, you know, stimulate the mind, nurture the body, but who talks about your soul? Nobody. So what we need to do is change things up here. What Iboga does is puts everything back into balance. When we are sick, our minds are in control, our minds take over and we are not connected with our souls. So all those negative thoughts, racing thoughts, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction...  the mind has taken over.

And then your mind will employ your body.

So the addiction or the depression or the trauma of the past wrapped in your body. So you're in bed or you're, you're out of sorts. Whatever the case may be, it's that you're out of balance. So what we have to do is rebalancing and that is putting the soul on top. So instead of it being mind, body, and soul, it's soul, body, and then mind your mind needs to become the least important. So what we're going to do is with an Iboga healing experience, what we do is shut down the mind, clean the mind of those negative thoughts, and then reconnect you with your soul. So reconnecting with your soul realigns you. And once we realign, we can have true balance. So then we're on our souls are aligned with our body and our mind, but most of all our soul. In our last conversations, we've been talking about soul and the one question I get asked all the time is, what is my soul gonna think of me? I'm scared. I don't want my soul to meet me or I don't want to meet my soul. What is my soul going to say? Well, the thing is your soul is been with you the whole time anyway.

So when I hear that question, I start to laugh because I think it's funny because if you think you're hiding something from your soul, you're sadly mistaken. You may have not been doing the right things or acted a certain way or you know, been a d*ck or been a b*tch. But the reality is your soul's been with you the whole time. So what do you have to fear then? So if your soul has been with you and you've acted a certain way and you have had issues.. So what can we do?

I don't understand what the problem is about meeting your soul. Because your soul knows everything. So you need to stop that fear process. The fear of your soul, what knocking you out, slapping me upside the head or you know, checking out if it hasn't done it by now, it's not going to do that. And it's actually gonna open you with open arms. And the first question you know, we tell people to ask your soul is, is everything okay with us? Because I need to know. And you know, it always says the same thing. Everything's fine because the reality is you haven't known how to, how to act. You haven't known what it's all about because you're completely disconnected from your soul. So reconnect, having a, actually having an Ibo, healing experience. What it's going to do is connect you with your soul for the first time since birth, because since birth we, you know, I personally, I come from a Roman Catholic background. So there's guilt, shame, fear, all. It's embedded us, he's part of the religion and it just, it's just part of our lifestyle. So you have a lifetime of nonsense that we have to clean up. So you know, when you meet your soul, your soul already knows that. So we're going to get together. How has experience met your soul? Everyone's got killed. All this stuff. I'd been a bad person.

He just didn't know. Most of the time we're just doing things to survive, just to stay alive because you know women or men have been raped or break and then not in the physical, mentally destroyed. Our minds are, but we don't even know what we're doing anymore. So what we got to do is get back. Let's get back. Meaning your soul is the most beautiful thing that you can do. The most beautiful thing you can do if you haven't done anything in your life, this is the most important thing anybody can do. We need to get together with our soul. It means everything, every, everything because we will no longer suffer the way we've suffered.

I'm here today, in this beautiful setting in my favorite place ever and it's in front of the fire. Wanted to talk to you about before and after my personal Iboga experience.

Prior to my experience, I was diagnosed with PTSD, major depression. I lived on about $1,500 worth of pharmaceutical drugs per month. I used a lot of street drugs. And that actually came to a halt at the end. Nothing was helping... at all. It was a poor existence. Basically, I was just living. And it gets to the point where either I was gonna live or I was gonna die and I was making the choice up quickly.

I didn't want to live anymore. The only reason that stopped me from taking action was my children and I couldn't do it, but on the other hand, I couldn't continue living the way I was living - that wasn't good for them either. I had to make a decision. So I had met a man at a barbecue and his name was Moughenda. He told me he could fix me up in a week. And like most people you'd probably say, "yeah right, sure buddy". And you know, 2 years later, after suffering even harder and not being able to do anything, I just couldn't be intimate, couldn't live. And then finally I finished my produce season because I worked in production for about 30 years. I finished up and made a decision, that it was time.

I called Moughenda and told him I needed to come. I went down he basically told me "what took you so long? You wasted 2 years of your life to come down to me." He goes, you wasted 2 years, and that's what stuck in my head and I did my experience. When I came out of it, I realized that I really wasted 2 years that I'll never get back prior to the eight years ahead of that.

So I had my experience. One of the things you've noticed right away is how clean you are because all of those pills leave you full of toxins. When you clear out all those toxins, your, your skin feels a whole lot better. Your eyes feel amazing. You couldn't go to the bathroom a lot easier because you don't have anything plugging you off. And uh, once I left there and came home, I had a lot clearer mind, a little leery of people when it first came back. And that's okay because I felt so pure, like a reborn and I needed some time for me. I needed time to regroup and find myself. And uh, I did, I took them, I took six months for me, quit my job, I spend as much time as I could with my children. Um, and it was, it was really good.

I thought it was going to be a lot better, but it took some adjustments. It took a lot of adjustment. But I had the tools to do the work. I knew that my choices were my choices and I had the right to say no because prior to that, you know, you don't have the confidence to say no because you always know something's wrong so you don't want to disappoint others. And the biggest thing was I was disappointing myself, so disappointed my soul. So not I was connected with my soul. I realized that it's time for me. One of the things I did was I bought a cushion for my crew, like push the seats down and I would go out and wilderness and I was just open up the hatch and lie in the back and just enjoy, um, fall asleep even. I could never do that prior because I had allergies. And that's one of the other things that I bolded cleared was my allergies, so I could actually sit out in nature and enjoy myself and you know, not get my eyes off poppy and full of pus and sneeze and can't breathe and all that. I was finally enjoying nature and enjoying life again.

I like it. I like, you know, others to come around and have a ceremony because that's one of the things I want to do for people. People can say a lot of things, but the main thing is I never want anyone to suffer the way I suffered a long time. Um, you know, from my home invasion, I'm still the day I called the hospital, come get me because I was completely suicidal, ending up in a mental health facility on a ton of medication that's no road for anybody. My children actually had to watch their father fall apart and I know I don't wish that I don't have any other parents, any other child because my kids have had to deal with that and they had to watch it. And I don't ever want that to happen to anyone else. So I encourage you to come, come to Iboga healing experience and, uh, try and dig deep and you're going to find some serious results. Getting Back to Ourselves and Nature with an Iboga Retreat 

Another thing that is actually a sidekick to all of this iboga ceremony and spiritual healing retreat and all that.

One of the greatest gifts I got from doing an Iboga healing experience was healing my severe allergies. I grew up with serious, serious, bad allergies. My eyes would puff up. I couldn't see and I couldn't be out in nature. So one of the greatest gifts that this iboga retreat has given me is the ability to be out in nature without having allergies. I was able to heal my allergies naturally.

Love this. I absolutely love this. I get excited because I couldn't do this before.

So the first thing when I came back from doing my first retreat, was that I bought a sleeping mat. I put it in the back of my car, I had a Honda CRV at the time. And I came out in nature and I just relaxed without allergies.  I fell asleep outside and I loved it. So now where do I want to be all the time? I want to be out here. I love it out here. This is beautiful.

We have trees, we have water. This is a beautiful spot. You've got you to be able to appreciate that. It's not about quantity. It's about quality, it's about the experience. These are trees, these have spirits. We're alive, we're connected with everything. We all need to get back together.

I want to show you something.

Not being able to go to a cottage where I was, I could only go into certain times of the year... But being out on the dock looking out onto the water, looking at nothing, gazing. Being at peace. It could be that you're looking at nothing or you could see fish jumping or whatever, but my soul brought me here for the peace. This is where I need to be. This is where I choose to be because I have a choice and I have my soul on my side. I wanted to talk about the mind, the mind is the most dangerous of the three and it is. It manipulates everything and if you allow the mind to have that kind of power, it will manipulate you. It will control you. It is the one that supplies all those negative thoughts, all that negative energy. Anytime you don't have self-confidence, that's all coming from the mind. The mind creates it and the mind has the power to employ the body and what it can do that's where you get sick so you, when you have depression, you don't want to get out of bed, your bones ache and you have so much pain within your body that you don't know what to do. You don't have the answers because you can't keep going in this loop that the mind is created.

Before your Iboga ceremony, you're out of touch with your connection between your mind, body, and soul, which actually should be soul, body, and mind.

During the iboga ceremony, we have to not only tear down the way the mind is working. We have to reconnect you with your soul. We need to clear the mind and shut it down.
