I haven't painted with a traditional medium in quite some time. The 38th IBBY International Congress 2022 in Putrajaya is hosting a KIDLIT (Kids Literature) Illustration Exhibition with the theme "The Power of Stories." There is an exhibition platform where 18 children's picture book illustrators can showcase their work, along with various exhibitions and celebrations such as the Hans Christian Andersen Award and the IBBY Honour List. Thank you so much @_mbbyofficial_ and @ellynorsuriamz , for inviting me to participate in this exhibition alongside so many talented artists! ********** 38th IBBY International Congress 2022 Date: 5th - 8th Sept 2022 Time: 10 am - 5pm Venue: Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya ********** Exhibition statement: When I was a child, the first story I heard was a fairy tale. Fairy tales have always been an integral part of children's everyday life. They were so important to my childhood, and I believe it has a positive impact on every child. Good stories are powerful, and they allow our brains to light up. A little girl, a grandmother, and a wolf are just a few keywords that can instantly recall the entire story. If fairy tales don't exist in the world, an image of a little girl wearing a red riding hood will not connect you to the famous fairy tale. We grow up hearing fairy tales and reading them into our lives because of the power of good stories. Every word and image is imprinted in our minds.
