The following list of the Top IAS Coaching in Kolkata will assist you in selecting the finest IAS Coaching in Kolkata for civil service exam preparation. If you are a Kolkata-based IAS Exam aspirant looking for IAS Coaching, Continue reading this article on Best IAS Coaching in Kolkata until the conclusion.
What Are the Qualifications for an IAS Officer?
To become an IAS officer, a candidate must pass the Union Public Service Commission's Civil Service Examination (CSE) (UPSC). Only a candidate can become an IAS officer after completing the UPSC-CSE test.
How tough is the IAS exam competition?
IAS exam (UPSC Civil Services Exam) is widely considered the toughest exam in India. Why?
This is not because of the difficulty of the questions asked. Of course, the questions which come in the Preliminary, Mains or Interview stages of the IAS exam are not easy. But IAS exam is tough to crack because the selection ratio is very less.
There is only a limited number of vacancies every year (only approximately 1000, for all the 24 services combined like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. – and this includes 49.5% reservation).
The competition is huge. And, the quantity and quality of the competition are increasing exponentially. The selection can now be rightly called ‘one in a million as more than 1 million aspirants apply for the exam – including those for IITs, IIMs, etc.
IAS Exam Preparation
Read on for IAS exam preparation strategy:
According to the current trend, more current affairs-based questions are being asked in both the Prelims and Mains stages of the IAS exam. Use only reputable sources like PIB, The Hindu, Yojana, and others, and make sure current events are aligned with the IAS test syllabus. For the IAS test, current affairs are mostly events of national and international importance that transpired in the previous 10-12 months.
Examine previous years' IAS test questions to see how much preparation you'll need.
As you read the NCERT materials, take notes. At least two sets of notes are required, one for the UPSC Prelims and the other for the UPSC Mains.
Until 1-2 months before the Prelims exam date, you must prepare for both the Prelims and Mains exams at the same time. Determine which topics overlap between the Prelims and Mains syllabuses and focus on them first.
Choose an Optional subject for the IAS test based on your aptitude, passion, and experience. Although only a few optional subjects have significant overlap with the General Studies syllabus in Mains, their syllabi are rather substantial, so do your study before choosing one.
Examine each subject's needed textbooks. The IAS exam book list, current events notes, NCERT notes, and other materials are available at the websites listed below.
The Prelims CSAT paper and the Mains Ethics paper are not to be taken lightly. Similarly, failing to score at least 25% in the two qualifying language tests in Mains will automatically disqualify you from the IAS test procedure, regardless of your great performance in the other disciplines.
Make time to prepare for the Prelims by practicing MCQs and the Mains by composing answers.
Revise multiple times before editing your notes and revising once more.

This exam, however, is regarded as one of the most challenging in India, as well as one of the most prestigious positions. This exam, as well as two others, the Indian Police Service and the Indian Forest Service is administered by the UPSC.
Why strategic planning is important for UPSC Exam?
Do you know why UPSC Civil Services exams are one of the toughest exams in India is due to the Increasing volume of aspirants who write the exam? Starting with a few lakhs of candidates who take the IAS prelims, only a few hundred cut the IAS interview round. It is without saying that one must try their utmost best, but they should also actively try to beat the competition if they want to get the desired post and rank in the IAS exam. As a result, having a concrete plan in place will help a lot when it comes to cracking the exam. Certain factors will lead them to victory by surging ahead in the competition. This article will describe in detail what some of the methods are.
Candidates would find the article very helpful in their preparation for the UPSC examination.
Methods to Crack the competition in the UPSC Exam:
Some of the methods to trump the competition in the UPSC Exam are as follows:
Familiarize yourself with the Exam Pattern:
The first thing to do is to do your research on the UPSC exam pattern. Being familiar with the same pattern, will to an extent help in being aware of the type of questions that will be usually asked in an IAS Exam
Get the right resources:
Make sure you study only from the most recommended sources of study material for the IAS exam. Anything more would be a waste of time and resources. Optimize your resources to make the most of your preparation time
Prepare a study timetable:
To ensure your success, you must maintain a strict schedule for your IAS preparation. Only this would ensure direction to your studies. A timetable serves many purposes like giving you a daily plan (what to complete by the end of the day), a monthly target to achieve, ample time for revision, time for self-assessment, etc.
Prioritize your topics:
To surge ahead of the competition, you must prioritize your topics to study. Know what are the latest topics in current affairs and also they are the marks
Solve previous years' IAS question papers: This is a very important thing to do if you want to get a high rank. Go through previous years’ papers and solve them. This way you will get a general idea of the UPSC Syllabus and the type of
Attempt mock tests:
Attempting mock tests is a crucial step as it assesses your strengths and weaknesses, and also helps in analyzing your strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, it will also help in effectively managing and planning your time before you write the actual exams.
Believe in yourself:
Perhaps the most important thing is to be positive and expect victory. Your battle is won halfway through. The rest will only depend on how well you perform when the exam day comes. If you are doing all it takes to gain IAS success, you should believe that you can become an IAS officer.
IAS as a career:
The Indian Administrative Service, or IAS, is India's most coveted employment.
