My favorite Shameless characters in order and why

Liam-that little boy loved and cared for his family so much despite their flaws and he was never paid attention to. He deserved the world and more.

Carl-his character development was phenomenal and I love that he accomplished everything he wanted

Mickey-sure, he was a little fucked up but you would be too if you lived his life. Under that hard exterior, he had the kindest heart, especially for the Gallagher's.

Ian-theres a reason he was the favorite sibling. He was so passionate about everyone and everything he loved and believed in

Vee-she was a whole package deal. Beautiful, bad ass, smart, companionate, a good friend, a good wife, a good mom. She always wanted what was best for everyone and was always there for everyone. True perfection

Kev-he had so much love in his heart. For Vee, for the girls, for Ethel, for Svetlana and Yvgeny, for the Gallagher's, even for Frank and Monica.

Franny-she was beyond smart. She knew right from wrong even better than her mom did

Kermit-Idk man there's just something lovable about Kermit

Trevor-he had so much love for the kids he helped and genuinely cared for Ian. Ian just belonged with Mickey

Sierra-she just wanted a good life for her kid and she was constantly in a bad situation due to other people's addictions

Okay Okay reading comprehension has kicked in: what’s up with 8’s last name being the same as Octavio? Are they parent-child? Siblings? Also with one being the leader of the octarian army and the other an agent I imagine there’s tension there! Am I at all right with that?

Yup! Octavia happens to be Octavio's kid. Her origins get a bit confusing though, so I'll explain them to ya.

Long ago, post Great Turf War era, Octavio has a son (who is technically his clone via severed tentacle) name Octavian, or Ian for short. Anyways Ian was way too hard for Octavio to handle, often rebelling against him. One day, Ian went too far with something, causing a physical fight to ensure with his father. Long story short, Octavio bashed Ian's brains out on accident, leading his son to immediately die. <-(it's like the painting Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan. The painting has some blood, so you're obligated to not click on the image if blood makes you uncomfortable/nauseous)

Now decades later, Octavio uses what was left of Ian (stored in a test tube) and attempts to recreate him, which leads to the creation of Octavia (also known as Vee). Octavia grows up, having a good relationship with Octavio, without knowing the existence of her brother until the events of Octo Expansion when she collects Octavio's memcake. She feels saddened upon learning the existence of Ian. Post Octo Expansion, she still wonders what it would've been like if Ian was alive.

With Ian, Octavio was quite strict on him due to raising him a few years after the Great Turf War, still getting used to the post war effects such as living in the domes and his injury.

With Vee, Octavio dotes on her as he's used to the post war effects now. Sometimes when he looks at Octavia he has a feeling of regret with how he raised Ian, wishing he did better.

“Uh…” He clicked his teeth, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel as he slowed for a red light. “I mean, we started shooting a couple weeks ago, and it's… going ok.” He adjusted his grip, rolling his shoulders as if shaking off some tension. “Well, I mean- it’s stressful as hell given that we’re filming ‘Ghostmates’, filming ‘Part-Timers’, and prepping for the live show all at the same time.”

The light turned green, and he glanced in the mirrors before easing the car forward. “*And* we have to shoot our usual sketches! It's…” He let out a small laugh, reaching up to scratch at his beard thoughtfully.

“I mean, I'm so happy that we're lucky enough to get the chance to do this- I mean, it’s our second movie in less than two years! But, man, I’d be lying if I said I can't wait to catch a break.” He shot me a quick, tired smile, the corners of his mouth shooting up slightly before he focused back on the road."
