I just wanna say this au is amazing, but I also have been wondering something ever since I started reading it and started my own au
How would Steven act with another diamond hybrid?
//Depends on the hybrid and their personality!
//If it’s a yellow diamond hybrid that acts like Yellow would (raised on Homeworld), he’d have a passive aggressive relationship with them. If it’s a hybrid that was raised on Earth, he’d immediately start being a nuisance every chance he gets.
//If it’s a blue diamond hybrid raised on Homeworld, or raised on Earth, he’d be friends with them whichever way it goes; though depending on that hybrid’s personality he’s either going to tease them constantly, or “encourage” them to follow his every word and whim. Or be like that one annoying older sibling who won’t leave you alone (but you know they care about you)
//Any Pink Diamond hybrid usually immediately gets bullied, he believes he is the only and the best pink diamond cut there is out there. Though if that pink diamond hybrid is taller and stronger than him (think kenji-benji’s old Pink Diamond AU, if anyone knows of it!) he’ll be a little intimidated, but pretends not to be and still tries to be mean himself. After all, he’s the more superior diamond! But also, if it’s a pink diamond hybrid like in the Perfect Steven AU or Homeworld Steven AU, he’d at least try to be friends with them. (My Steven canonically looks up to Azul’s Perfect, and feels like an older sibling figure to Homeworld Steven)
//White diamond hybrids…. He’d likely avoid interacting with them at all if possible. If it’s a Steven like @/thechekhov’s Steven, and that Steven actively attempted to befriend him, he might warm up to them slowly, but for the most part, just the sight of White’s gem, if visible on any Steven, will cause him to shut down and be scared (for now). Although he would be comfortable around my own take of White Diamond Steven, were they to meet.

Doubt we'll ever know how it was simulated, and while the s400 is ass against BMs (we always knew that), that doesn't change the fact how deadly it can be vs 4th gen. Unless you're a LO/VLO platform, good luck penetrating airspace protected by IAMDs consisting of S-400 batteries

Exercise Ramstein Flag 24, organised by NATO’s Allied Air Command and the Hellenic Air Force, is under way in Greece. This exercise runs from 30 September to 11 October 2024 and marks the first iteration of the ‘Flag’ series, which aims to demonstrate NATO’s determination and capacity to implement and execute the ‘Deter and Defend’ concept across NATO member countries in the Euro-Atlantic region. The primary objective of Ramstein Flag 24 is to strengthen cooperation, interoperability and integration among Allied forces. It serves as a powerful demonstration of NATO’s resolve, commitment and ability to deter potential adversaries while defending the Alliance through multi-domain operations. Along with NATO AWACS aircraft and NATO RQ-4D Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance drones, over 130 fighter and enabler aircraft from Canada, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States are participating in the exercise. The exercise integrates air, land, maritime, space and cyber domains under NATO command and control. “Neutral like Switzerland” can no longer be a saying as the Swiss government has announced it is joining the European Sky Shield Initiative (ESSI) to develop a shared missile defense system across Europe. Switzerland is neither an official member of the European Union nor a member of NATO. Yet, the nation forfeited its neutrality stance years ago as Swiss leaders continued to adopt globalist rules.
The ESSI was initially proposed by Germany in 2022 amid the Russia-Ukraine war. The program will integrate with NATO’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to enhance Europe’s air defenses. The powers that be know war is on the horizon, but they are betting on most of Europe continuing to fight on the same team. Armament chief Urs Loher has signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU), officially making Switzerland the 15th nation to join this coalition.

Switzerland claims that the MoU does not force it into any binding obligation as the government may choose its level of involvement. The Swiss government also claims that it may withdraw from the ESSI if any member becomes involved in a war. “With its participation in the ESSI, Switzerland is increasing international opportunities for cooperation: ESSI enables better coordination of procurement projects, training and logistical aspects in the area of ground-based air defense,” the government noted in a statement. The initial project will protect Europe against medium-range missiles, but naturally, the plan is to accelerate this technology.
Switzerland lost its tax haven status years ago when it began offering up banking information to foreign governments. Switzerland completely capitulated its historic safe-haven status to the entire world. The country was born from a tax revolt against the Hapsburg dynasty in Austria. The tax collector made William Tell to shoot an apple off his son’s head with an arrow. Switzerland then remained neutral in war and religion, serving as a safe haven for those who would be religiously persecuted. All of that is now gone.
In 2015, the Swiss Senate passed a resolution to exchange ALL information on anyone who has any assets in Switzerland. They have surrendered their sovereignty to this worldwide effort to destroy the entire global economy because politicians can never run any government efficiently.
Of the nation’s three main sectors, the tertiary sector is the most important for the Swiss economy. It includes banking, insurance, and tourism, employing more than 75% of Switzerland’s workforce. Over a fifth of the working population makes up the secondary sector, i.e. industry, trade, and crafts. The machine, metal, watch, and textile industries play a significant role, as do the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, which rely heavily on imports and exports. By far, banking was a major sector at the top of the list.
The Swiss economy was built on its banking expertise and security. That is now gone in the age of hunting cash globally. Consequently, the economy of Switzerland lost its primary competitive advantage economically. Now it must develop industries that are competitive globally. It needs more than chocolate and Rolex watches.

@starlightomatic missile defense engineer here, I can answer!
So yes, they do have something similar in construction though kuch more frankensteined than what is commonly called 'iron dome'
First lets use what you know!
Iron Dome is the SHORAD (Short Range Air Defense) part of Israel's overall IAMD (Integrated Air and Missile Defense) system. It deals with short range rockets, drones, artillery, and cruise missiles.
There are other systems with greater range and ability that add to the defense structure, like layers!
[image id: a diagram of the different ranges of the israeli air defense system based on public data; showing iron dome intercepting rockets, david's sling intercepting medium and long range missiles, arrow intercepting long range ballistic missiles, and thaad intercepting short to medium range ballistic missiles]
The idea behind this is that each layer is good at its main threat, and can help with others even though the cost effectiveness is less. ( You dont want to use a $2 Million missile on a $100k drone, but a $100k iron dome missile is perfect )
--
Now for your question!
Ukraine has a large number of donated systems, both short, medium, and long range that help them intercept Russian threats.
It is a mixture of local systems, but mostly donated systems and missiles, that keeps them protected, but keeping their stock up has been a challenge with how many strikes Russia does. Ukraine has some very difficult decisions to make about what they can and cannot protect I hope the US and NATO step up more deliveries to help them keep going.
They do not have a full 100% "umbrella" like Israel does and honestly very few countries do, although Poland, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea are getting close.
People take shelter from a russian attack in the Kyiv metro early on November 17th.
Russia launched 120 missiles and 90 drones across Ukraine, targeting energy infrastructure & civilian structures. Ukrainian defenses intercepted over 140 threats.

NATO conducts long-range exercises testing interoperability in Romania
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 08/27/2023 - 19:00 in Military
On August 24, NATO Allies conducted verification tests in the skies of Romania on how their air assets work together to protect NATO airspace with Integrated Air Defense Missile (IAMD) means.
The verification test allowed combat and air-to-air refueling aircraft from France, Spain and Turkey to unite over Romania, improving the readiness and interoperability of NATO IAMD, along with additional features such as surface-based air defense and anti-missile systems (SBAMD). During the mission, NATO Allied Air Command, through the Combined Air Operations Center in Torrejn, Spain, supervised the procedural test analyzing how these means can be gathered efficiently.
"NATO's IAMD provides a highly responsive, urgent and persistent ability to achieve a desired level of air control, which ensures that the Alliance is able to achieve freedom of action to conduct the full range of its missions, safeguarding and protecting the territory of the Alliance," said Brigadier General Christoph Pliet, Deputy Chief of Operations of the General Staff of the Allied Air Command. “This mission was extremely beneficial for all participating air forces to execute and achieve integration and interoperability,” he added.
Once activated, SBAMD units provide their data to NATO's IAMD network, which comprises sensors, means of command and control and national weapons systems and provided by NATO. This joint and combined defensive network compiles the received data into an aerial and missile reconnaissance image.
"The participating fighters operated from their domestic or deployed bases and flew to Romania with the help of air-to-air refueling aircraft and integrated with local SBAMD units. This complex mission has demonstrated that NATO and its Allies are able to conduct flexible, long-range deterrent options, in addition to maintaining a general stance ready to deter and defend every inch of NATO territory,” General Pliet added.
NATO IAMD is a defensive component of the Alliance's Joint Air Power, which aims to ensure the stability and security of NATO airspace through the coordination, control and exploitation of the air domain. It is an essential and continuous mission in times of peace, crises and conflicts, conducted through a 360-degree approach throughout NATO territory, and is prepared to face the full spectrum of threats.
