Lexember 2nd

Today is an old verb that needed to be remade. -ga- to turn, swivel (intransitive) -gag- to turn, to twist, to cause to turn (transitive) -gaga- to dance, spin -ŋa- to spin thread

all the verbs should be able to fit the presented paradigm, and the nasal mutations are what I would like to spend most of lexember doing.

Jirix gaína- I turn to look at your face. Haqë’iqë gagóna- I twist the bird’s head off Kogagasá- I cannot dance Apëpë inŋáiš- My grandmother always knits.

I don’t have many either, yet. But I usually make then as passive nominatives- it is worn on the chest, worn on the legs etc.

I just made apron today, gyádék(‘iíŋax)- it covers the front(fabric)

ruutłú /ruu.t͡ɬú/ vd. to clothe oneself ł-u-s-u-ruutłu sa. (’I’m clothed.’) Comp. of ruu (’to carry, to bear’).

Ironically, I don’t have words for any articles of clothing, and I have no idea how I’m going to make those. So for now here’s a verb that basically means ‘to wear,’ but it requires three arguments: reflexive subject and object, and then an applicative object which is the article of clothing.

Any suggestions on how to make names for articles of clothing? Because now I have a word for ‘to wear’ and ‘to be naked,’ but no words for any kinds of clothing HAHA. 

PS This verb comes from ruu which means ‘to carry (a load), to bear (a burden),’ along with yet another meaningless component (which also does appear in ratłú ‘to carry in one’s arms/hands’ – can you tell that I really like mysterious compounds?).

-ui- to change -wig- to change, (transitive) cause to change -uyui- to modify, adapt -nui- to barter, to exchange

Uií é zë- Changing is living. Ráájutitaë’i neri wigensi- That lizard can change its color. Kuyuíísë ndjaritë- If you don't adapt you’ll die. Jehaqënape aaru’qe ennuiímušë?- Do you want to exchange your deer skin for my wolf teeth?

ŋaxungehaiíŋax- A waste of time, bullshit, a task not worth the work lit: My fabric is unwound/unwoven/undone /ˈŋa.ˌxuŋ.gə.ˈhaɪ̆í.ˌŋax/

This was the word I wanted for yesterday, I remembered because someone brought up the meeting I had to sit through that was such a waste of my time in the first place it inspired this word. haha

-ro- to kiss, affectionately touch foreheads together -rog- to nuzzle, to cuddle -roro- to feel (as in emotions, not with the hands) -ndo- to love, romantically, as a lover

Rona- Kiss me. Ošk’rogaë- We often cuddle. Yároróh- I feel happy/good Ndošona- I love him.

Tëétsíqëest’i- Beluga Whale Yuntenast’i- Whale(general)

tenast’ is literally “it goes through water” which I apply to basically all sea animals, yun- is a clitic that means “big/large” so, whale is just “big fish” generally. tsíqëest’ is “it sprays water upwards” which is much more specific to whales. You could add ruqá- to the beginning of beluga meaning “white” as well, for extra specificity. tëétsíqëest’i- It that sprays water upwards smiling

I slept through these ones.  I guess I just wasn't in the right place to be making new words, but I'm back.  Sort of, I kind of had to force it today.

-rai- to be stuck, to be trapped -raig- to cause to be stuck, to trap gagáŋax- a snare -gagáŋaxgegë- to be trapping/snaring an animal -tseksin- to dislocate, as in a shoulder causing pain from -tsek- to knock, from -sk- to crack, burst (onomatopoeia) tanqëge- erection -nise’- to anticipate, look forward to

Lexember 4th

Today is another old root that is being reworked. This one was a trilateral verb that we discarded because it didn't really fit the paradigm even as an outlier.

-tsax- to be embarrassed, feel embarrassed -tsašg- to embarrass someone, to make one feel embarrassment -ndjax- to be ashamed -tsasax- to reprimand, to chastise, rebuke

Nijtsaxa na’jugja- I am embarrassed to tell you that I like you. Tsašgaë- You are embarrassing me. Atáništa ndjaxa- I am ashamed of my small penis. Apë tsasaxaiš- My mother chastises me.

It is worth noting though that these verbs can be expanded upon. -tsax- becomes -tsašg- with the addition of the valency adding -g suffix, and so -tsasax- could become -tsasašg- to make one reprimand just as easily. -ndjašg- to shame someone etc.

Lexember 8th

Today we’re talking about travel.

-iítšit- To travel, specifically to walk a long distance in multiple stages -aráít- to travel alone, this is of note because a tribal society would rarely leave a single person alone for any length of time.  This term is used colloquially to refer to those who have been banished or cast out. -iísón- to travel behind someone, can be to follow a path someone left, or using them as a windbreak -íuti’nar- to travel in the same direction as the wind is blowing, travel with the wind -tengaga’- to travel through a storm

Igiítšitpaë- We must start a journey. We must begin to travel. At’iíséja o’tu’uisáé- Now I am traveling behind you but soon we can switch. Ondzaax tengaga’ínas- I traveled through a storm to get to his house. “Mohráít’oi” Mosese, íauti’nar.- “You shouldnt travel alone.” Dont worry, the wind is at my back.

So, as per my previous lexember post, the stem -(a)r- is now the verb to speak, to say which means the name of the language is now changed.
