Birthday: May 9th Ethnicity: Japanese + British 6′0 / 155 pounds 

Kiyoshi used to live in the UK, being one of MC’s friends at the time. They met at a very early age, as he was one of the only kids who knew Japanese. While they’ve distanced over the years, they’ve remained acquaintances with each other, being friendly whenever they do see each other.  Because of his parents’ divorce, Kiyoshi moved back with his mother to Japan, letting Kiyoshi meet MC once again. 

Kiyoshi is in MC’s class, so the moment he introduces himself, MC recognizes him. That’s when they meet once again! MC starts talking to him after class and invites him out to lunch. 

Kiyoshi appears to be cold, quiet, and nerdy when he first moves back in Japan. He avoids conversation with others and instead focuses on his schoolwork.

This isn’t the case, as Kiyoshi is just nervous. His first language is English, and Kiyoshi was raised in the UK all of his life. He’s not used to the atmosphere at all, so he’s afraid of saying the wrong thing. 

Kiyoshi got his tattoos when he was in the UK. Now, he has to hide them now that he’s in Japan. He’s very panicked about them, as he doesn’t want to be expelled. He purposely goes out of his way to buy makeup to cover the rose tattoo on his neck. (Though, the makeup can’t save him during pool days.)

He now is just very regretful of his tattoos in general, as he will cover himself up in public. Even if it’s summer, he’ll wear long sleeves (unless Black Ship is just the gang) 

Kiyoshi...is bit of a hot mess. He gets panicked over things easily, and he rarely has everything together. (He often makes self deprecating jokes about how much of a mess he is.) 

Kiyoshi enjoys reading, whether it be manga or novels. He especially loves mystery and horror. 

He’s interested in becoming a journalist when he grows up! 

Kiyoshi doesn’t exactly fit in with the gang at first. In the beginning, he only talked to MC. He’s not exactly fond of them, aside from Takeshi. He’s never had any good experiences with ‘stereotypically popular people’ like Rihito, Ichigo, and Haruki. Along with that, Ryuzo just intimidates him. He slowly starts interacting with them more because he talks with Takeshi, though.

He’s completely blind without his glasses. He owns contacts, but he doesn’t wear them often, as they’re too much of a hassle. 

Kiyoshi adores roses. He remembers going to a rose garden with his family before they got a divorce, so they hold fond memories for him. He also specifically remembers bringing one rose home for MC. 

Kiyoshi had a huge crush on MC when they were younger, but it ended up fading over the years. Now that he’s met MC again, however, he can feel it slowly coming back.
