Visual Diary: Pageant Photoshoot
If you can recall, I asked my Facebook friends and Instagram followers (I assume you are one of them) to ‘HEART REACT’ on a photo of me posted by the Facebook Page of our college’s student council. So… ayun na nga. I joined a pageant in our college called ‘The Search for COEd’s Ambassador and Ambassadress.’ Wait, what? Yes, you read it correctly–I joined a pageant. The pageant is already over and if you have seen the posts I’m tagged in on Facebook and my posts of Instagram, you’d know that I did win 2nd Runner Up (not bad for a first timer tho).
But hold up, this blog entry is definitely not about the pageant itself; sorry to cut your expectations short–I’ll be saving that for another entry, which I hope to finish soon. I’m just here to recount our photoshoot for the social media campaign of the pageant. We had a pictorial 2 weeks prior to the pageant which yielded the set of photos you will find below. We are all in our PT uniforms (got mine borrowed from a senior student) and we all had a total of 9 frames to work in on the actual shoot. Here’s how the shoot went…
6th of October – Friday
We were informed that week that we’ll be having the shoot by Friday. Majority of the candidates still haven’t borrowed PT uniforms so hiraman na lang kami during the actual shoot. Shout out to Andrey who helped me borrow the uniform. The shoot also coincided with our Balik Aral meeting (my partner, Tin, is also a teacher together with Rica, who assisted us during the pictorial). The good thing is that our colleagues managed to serve as substitute teachers that Friday so the 3 of us focused on preparing for the pictorial. I got ready an hour before the shoot.
I have zero knowledge about makeup and stuffs so I let my classmates do my makeup. My glam team for the shoot consisted of Maha, who did my hair and makeup, and Paw, who did my eyebrows. I looked so pale on the photo (like, two shades whiter) probably because of the mismatch between the makeup and the lighting but on the bright side, I looked like a vampire on the photo–channeling my inner Edward Cullen of Twilight (kayo na ang humusga lol). Nonetheless, I felt comfortable with my look and was able to project well in front of the camera.
The other candidates did not have their slacks, shoes and belt to I managed to let some of them borrow mine–your boy comes prepared. We had to wait for more than an hour to pose for the camera because there is a total of 10 pairs of candidates and we were 2nd to the last (?) if I’m not mistaken. When my turn came it, I felt overwhelmed by the lights so I didn’t have the chance to pull off my Instagram poses. Pardon my masungit and galit face on the photos cause I forgot to smile. The 9 frames consisted of 3 close up shoots, 3 half body ones and another 3 for whole body.
Check out (some of) the photos below:
Till the next entry!
