Post S08E11 Bucktommy fix it fic because I can

“Whoa, hey. Wh- What's happening?”

In seconds and just a few words, everything was falling apart. Again.

“I have a shift later.”

The walls had come up so fast between them that he could almost see the concrete drying between the bricks.

“Tommy…”

This could not be happening again.

“Evan, thank you for last night. It was fun.”

And Tommy was walking away and the disbelief, the pain, the panic was rushing in as if it was that night at the loft all over again and something in Buck snapped.

He scrambled after Tommy, breath catching as he rounded the corner to the entryway as Tommy was reaching for the front door.

“I fought it too!” The words burst from him, falling loose from where they’d stuck the night before.

Tommy’s steps faltered, his hand freezing where he was reaching for the door handle.

“I fought the urge to call you so many times, Tommy. Almost everyday.”

Tommy’s hand fell to his side.

“Every time that I wanted to reach out, to text or call you, I baked. And I baked. And then I baked some more. I baked so much my fridge and freezer couldn’t hold it so I gave it away to everyone.�� He scrubbed a hand over his face.

“I couldn’t stop thinking about you, that you left and you weren’t mine anymore. I didn’t know what to do with my hands when they had grown so used to reaching out to you and holding you and then you weren’t there anymore.” The words shuddered from him, painful and raw.

The older man turned to face him and for the first time in possibly their whole relationship, Buck saw the cracks. He saw the flash of hurt and the last thing he wanted was to add more after his careless comment in the kitchen, but dammit, Tommy had hurt him too.

“You changed me, Tommy,” he drifted closer to where Tommy stood, “you made me different and you showed me what an actually loving relationship could be and then you left.”

Buck waved a hand behind him vaguely. “I have played that night over in my brain so many times, wishing the outcome was different, wishing that I had made you stay. But it wasn’t different. You left and you never gave me the chance to understand why or to talk things through and I think you owe me at least that.”

Moments passed, a shuddering breath as his only answer. He turned away, knowing he couldn’t watch as Tommy left again.

A hand brushed against his, guiding him to turn back around and when he met Tommy’s gaze this time, the wall crumbled between them.

“I’ve regretted it from the moment I walked out the door,’ Tommy rasped, “I was down the hall and all I wanted was to turn back, instead I ran. I ran and I cowered. I’d just burned the one good thing I had because I was too weak and terrified of what you did to me, what you still do to me.”

Tommy cleared his throat. “I'll keep talking, but can we sit down? You haven't eaten anything.” he tugged at the hand he was still holding, and Buck let Tommy pull him back into the kitchen, towards the miraculously still warm eggs in front of them. They carry the plates through to the dining room, sitting at the table to eat.

Buck is sure they both know they won't be eating the eggs, but it gives him something to do with his hands during one of the most important conversations he's had in a long time, even though he just ends up pushing the eggs around his plate until they go cold.

Tommy doesn't touch his plate, nudging it to the side as he continues.

“Evan Buckley, you terrify me because I have never loved someone the way that I love you.” Tommy’s voice cracked at the last words. “You filled my life with this warmth and vibrance and it terrified me because I can't keep you.”

“But you ca–”

Tommy’s expression stuttered into a mirror of that night at the loft, something oh so sad and broken twisted up into wistfulness. “I can't. Evan, I'm not the one that people stay for. I'm not the one who… I'm not that. Everyone I've ever let close has proven that.”

“So you want to add yourself to the line of people who have left me as well? Because news flash Tommy, no one has stayed for me either.” Buck stood up, his fork clattering against the plate when he plants his hands on the table.

“Tommy, every romantic relationship I've had ended with my partner leaving me. I was fun for them until they were forced to face that I wanted something deeper, that I have a dangerous job, that I care so deeply about my family. Even then, being left haunted my platonic relationships, too. Maddie left a few times, and I understand why for the most part, but she still did. Then the 118 after the bombing and lawsuit, though a lot of that was also on me.

“You are the only one who has ever just fucking cared, is it so wrong for me to want to embrace the love you gave me?”

Tommy shook his head. “I– no, Evan it's not, but you–”

“But what, Tommy!? You think I need to go out and explore and fuck more men? That I'll find someone else I like more? That you Eddie is some kind of competition?”

“You deserve someone better!” Tommy yelled, standing up and pacing, running a hand through his hair. “You deserve more than me.”

“Well I don't want better or more! I don't want some other man or woman, I don't want one of my exes, and I don't want Eddie!” He stalks around the counter to Tommy, stopping his pacing with a hand to his chest. He steps closer, sliding his hand up to cradle Tommy’s jaw, something in his chest softening when the other man leans into it the slightest bit.

“You consume me wholly. You are the one I want to text and call when I've had a good day, a bad day, a fine day. You are the one that I want to spend lazy mornings with and make dinner beside. You are the one I want holding my hand at family events.” He ducks his head, eyes following Tommy's when his gaze drops to the floor. “Baby, you are the one I want to marry and build a life with. If it takes me maiming Eddie again and again to prove that yours is the only attention I crave, well, he'll just have to put up with it.”

He uses his other hand to lift Tommy’s and press it directly over his heart. “There is no competition when you already hold my heart, Tommy.”

There is a light starting to glow in Tommy's eyes, making them shine in a way that Buck had never seen, something burning bright in them that had Buck wishing for the world to let them stay that way.

“You want to marry me?” There's something soft and full of wonder in Tommy's tone, tinged with the now apparent insecurity that had burdened Tommy for far too long.

“With all of my heart.”

There was a hell of a lot more talking after that, crying and arguing as well. They remade breakfast together, Tommy admitting to Buck that he didn’t actually have a shift later.

Buck knew, he understood that he was just trying to get out before they hurt each other even more, and even though they were both free, they gave each other space to settle and process everything that was said.

They met for coffee the next day, where they talked more about big things and small, about the things they had left out in their first 6 months together.

Buck dove into his history with Maddie and their parents, about Daniel, about his traveling. Tommy spoke about his father and what it had been like growing up with him after his mother had died, how his Nonna had stepped in and raised him and kept him as safe and cared for as she could while she'd been alive.

They spoke about Abby and other relationships.

They decided to try a few sessions of couples therapy to help them find their footing again.

On Saturday, they went on another first date, this time during the afternoon and far from Miceli’s which Buck was convinced was cursed. Tommy disagreed but Buck had seen his smile when he’d listed the many ways that he felt they had been doomed by the restaurant.

On Tuesday, they had a brunch date, Tommy just coming off shift and Buck about to go into one.

On Friday, they made pizza together and spent the evening watching movies on Tommy’s couch.

Wednesday saw them grabbing coffee before their first joint therapy session, during which they agreed that one on one sessions for themselves might be good as well.

Thursday they were back on conflicting shifts for a while, but texted often, their chats filled with questions and answers that they had for each other, some tabled for another time and some not.

And so it went.

Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Saturday. Two weeks, then three. Tommy’s crew found out they were back together just after week four, Buck’s followed two weeks after.

Two months, three months.

They sat next to each other in the waiting room after Maddie went into labour during their first double date at her and Chimney’s house, Tommy hesitating for only a second before he let himself be tugged along with Buck to meet his new nephew.

Four months, then five. They shared drawers at each other's house, a spare key, both with no pressure to move in. A silent assurance: you have a space with me, when we are ready.

Slowly but surely, they grew back together, this time intentionally. Two vines twisting together over here, a branch supported by another over there. Purposeful splinting done carefully and deliberately until they had something both new and old that they felt safe to let reach for the sun in its own time.

Six months after that morning at Buck's house, they are there again, standing side by side at the sink, rinsing suds from their dishes and setting them aside to dry. The room glowed softly, battery powered candles littered around. It probably would have been faster and easier to finish the dishes with the lights turned on but neither wanted to break the gentle veil that had settled over the house.

Dishes done, Buck leads them to the living room, lamps and candles the only light there as well. They settle on the couch, something far too expensive but the perfect size and squishy firmness for them both to lay comfortably on it.

Etta James croons softly in the background as they sprawl across the cushions, Tommy’s weight settling easily over him with his head resting on Buck's shoulder, their legs tangling together. They lay together, basking in the quiet, Buck running a hand up and down Tommy’s back.

He almost thinks that Tommy has drifted off when he lifts his head, chin resting on Buck’s chest as he gazes at him, eyes alight and glowing in the dimness of the room.

“I never want to be apart from you again.” The words are murmured so softly that Buck almost misses them.

“So don’t be.” His voice is just as soft and quiet, hand still trailing across Tommy’s back as Tommy tilts his head down to press a kiss to his pec.

“We both know that I meant what I said in the kitchen that morning. That I meant what I said at the loft.”

“Evan…” Tommy breathes.

“Keep me forever, Tommy Kinard?” He tilts his head, a smile tugging at his lips.

It's smothered by Tommy surging forward and kissing him slow and deep.

Tommy pulls away just barely enough to answer him.

“As long as you promise to keep me forever, too, Evan Buckley.”

The next morning, Tommy is flying them to Las Vegas.

“You're absolutely sure that you don’t want any of the others with us?” He asks as he does his last pre-flight checks.

The answer is easy.

“The only one I need is you. This is for us, we can throw a party with everyone some other time.”

- “I used to think that being a firefighter was the only thing I had that mattered, that it was the only thing I needed to keep my family, the 118. Through them I gained a home and I learned I was more than just Buck the firefighter, I could be Buck the friend, the brother, even a son.” Buck adds with a chuckle, reminding them of how much he views Bobby like a father. “I could be just Buck. But there was still something missing.”

Buck paused, breath catching at the way Tommy was gazing at him so intently, just like he always did. Like he always had from the start.

“And then I met you. I met you, Tommy, and my world exploded. All of a sudden there was something, someone, there in front of me that I was so intrigued by, and the more I found out about you and got to know you, the more I was entranced. I wanted your attention, your time, your conversation. I wanted it all.

“For a while, I had it, and then we stumbled. We fell apart and it was that first night without you that I realised that what I'd been missing for so long had been you. I never want to miss you again, not in any final way like that.” He sniffed, blinking against welling tears.

“I want to miss you in the small, everyday ways that remind me of how big a part of my life and heart you have become. I want to miss you when we have shifts and I see the notes you leave me in my duffle. I want to miss you when you're only in the next room. I want to miss you when you have to let go of my hand to shift gears. I want to miss you, knowing that you are there beside me and that we made it through our stumble stronger and closer than before.”

Tommy is smiling at him, all scrunched and wobbly and it undoes him. A wave of tears cascade down his cheeks, and he has to take a few breaths and get himself under control before he can continue.

“I want nothing more than to tell the world that we got it right, that I’m yours and you’re mine, that I choose you. Because I do and I always will. I promise to choose you, Tommy Kinard, over and over and over for the rest of my life.”

The officiant, an older man with kind eyes that remind Buck of Bobby, hands them both a handkerchief. They take them with teary laughter.

Tommy takes a breath, his hands squeezing Buck's, his smile crinkling in his eyes.

“I know I've told you this, and we've spoken about it all and grown through it, but walking away from you that night was truly and honestly the hardest thing that I have done in my life, right up there as the most stupid as well. I threw it all away, so wrapped up in my own fears and insecurities, I couldn't bring myself to hold tight to you instead of letting go. I will never make that mistake again.

“You gave me the privilege of loving you not once, but twice even after the hurt that I caused both of us. Your love and tender care has redefined my life and meaning and I vow to cherish my heart as you have cherished mine. You’ve given me a freedom that I’ve only ever felt in the pilot’s seat.” Tommy lifted one of their hands, pressing a kiss so reverently to the back of Buck's hand, his gaze pulling and dragging him in.

“You are my joy, my warmth, my world and sky. You are my wings and my life, Evan Buckley, and I cannot wait to fly into this next part of our lives with you.”

“Evan Buckley, do you take Thomas Kinard as your husband, as your companion and best friend for life? Do you vow to treat him with love and devotion, honor and respect? To stand by him in the triumphs and tragedies of life, as a faithful and caring husband?” asked the officiant

It's a simple statement, but it still leaves Buck breathless and full of laughter, excitement bubbling through him in thingling trails from his toes to his fingertips.

“I do.” He beams.

“Thomas Kinard, do you take Evan Buckley as your husband; as your companion and best friend for life? Do you vow to treat him with love and devotion, honor and respect?To stand by him in the triumphs and tragedies of life, as a faithful and caring husband?” The officiant continued looking at Tomy.

Tommy’s answer is quick and sure, his smile spreading even more wide and blinding than Buck had ever thought possible.

“I do.”

“Then, by the authority vested in me by the State of Nevada I pronounce you husbands. You may now…”

The officiant's words fade as Buck is dipped ever so slightly backwards and Tommy is kissing him, soft and slow and all consuming. Buck sinks into him, everything around blurring and distant when they slowly part.

His giddy smile is reflected back at him and Buck doesn't even try to resist the urge to lean forward and steal one more quick kiss.

“Hi, Husband.” He murmurs.

“Hello, Husband.” Tommy smirks at him.

There's a brief pause, the world standing still around them before they're breaking into peals of giddy laughter and Buck is lifting Tommy slightly and spinning them around.

Tommy sets a new beer down in front of Buck and drops back into the seat next to him with his own glass, briefly pulling Buck's attention from the conversation he's having with Chimney. He plants a kiss at the corner of Tommy's mouth in thanks.

Chimney groans, but the laughter and fondness is clear to see in his expression. “The two of you are even more sickening than the first time you were together. Shouldn't you be over the honeymoon phase by now?” He pauses in consideration and turns to Hen and Eddie who are sitting just down from them at the table, everyone gathered for a barbecue at Bobby's and Athena's new house. “Hey, guys, are they even allowed to get another honeymoon phase if they already subjected us to it the first time around?”

Eddie hums around a mouthful of potato salad and Hen is about to chime in too when Buck catches Tommy's smirk from the corner of his eye.

He tilts his head towards him and arches a brow, getting his own eyebrow wiggle in return.

Lifting his bear, he takes a swig and sets it down on the table with a solid thunk that draws attention to them.

“I mean, considering that we're freshly married, I think a honeymoon phase is just par for the course, no?” Buck drawls.

There's silence and Tommy snickering next to him for all of two seconds before all hell breaks loose and it's a pandemonium of overlapping voices and glasses and cutlery clattering together as everyone scrambles to get a word in.

A sharp whistle cuts through the chaos, and Bobby stands at the head of the table. “Yes, we all heard what Buck said, now could we please have some quiet so we can get more information.?” He has that “Disappointed Dad/Captain” look that has everyone settling back into their seats and looking expectantly at Buck and Tommy.

“Well, Kid?” Bobby prompts with a knowing grin.

Buck and Tommy smoothly slip their rings from their pockets and onto their fingers, holding up their hands to show off their matching tungsten bands.

“We got married a few days ago in Vegas. Tommy flew us there. We are incredibly happy. No, we are not having a whole huge wedding, but we might have a smaller celebration to include everyone at some point. Does that answer some of your questions?”

There were a few nods, though some of them still weren't quite content at just that, as was obvious by Maddie fidgeting and twisting with her ring.

Tilting his head, Buck smiled at his sister. “You can ask your question, Mads, any of you can. Just maybe don't swarm us like that?”

A few chuckles rang out before quieting as Maddie spoke.

“Did– did you not want us there?”

Buck shared a glance with Tommy and looked back at everyone gathered at the table.

“It's not that we didn't want you there, not at all,” Buck started, “But it's what we needed. Something just for us, you know? And it's not to say that it wouldn't have been ours if all of you were there but…”

“But so much of our relationship ended up being sidetracked or put out on show when we were first together, intentionally or not.” Tommy continued, coming to his rescue. “Our first date being crashed by Eddie and being a disaster, our coming out with soot all over our faces–which, to be fair, was on us not anyone else–at the hospital, Billy Boils, our first six month anniversary and subsequent spiralling after the break up. Also yes, I know about the phone snatching moment.”

Buck squeezed Tommy’s hand gratefully, jumping back in. “After we got back together at first we wanted to take our time.. We wanted this to be just ours, separate from everyone until we knew for sure it was what we both wanted, that we could and would put in the work. Yes, we eventually let everyone know we were back together and we went right back to joining each other at events and get togethers, but our relationship is just ours, and has nothing to do with anyone else or their opinions.

“I don’t know if that makes sense, but eloping was what we needed. Why wait when we can be together?” He shrugged.

Bobby cleared his throat, meeting Buck and Tommy both with a proud gaze. “I can't speak for any of the others, but out of everyone here, I think that Athena and I can, at least, partially understand that. I'm proud of you both, for how far you've come to be where you are now and that you have found and nurtured the love that you share.”

“Bobby's right,” Athena agreed, resting a hand on her husband's arm. “It’s your relationship and it's your business to do what is best for both of you… All I can say is, like father, like son.” Athena smirks, mirth shining in her eyes, “Congratulations, Boys, we're all happy for you.”

“Hey, wait, what are you doing about your names?” Eddie questioned. “Like, are you hyphenating, are you just taking one, are you making a new one?”

Karen pointed at Eddie, sipping at her wine. “Mhm, yeah, and if you drop the “Buckley” do we still call you Buck? Because I don't think I could call you Evan.” She wrinkled her nose, agreements echoing her from around the table.

“No matter what last name I have, I'm still Buck to all of you. Only Tommy and Maddie get to have “Evan” privileges.” Buck explained.

“Well, then? What'll it be, Buck? Are we ordering you new turnouts?” Bobby grinned.

Buck nudged his husband, gesturing with a hand towards the group. “You want the honours, Babe?”

Tommy sat up, clearing his throat. “You are looking at the newly dubbed–” He ducked back into Buck's space for a moment, “Drumroll please, Ev?”

Buck obliged, beating his hands against the table.

“Mr and Mr Kinard!” Tommy exclaimed and a cheer went up around them.

“New turnouts it is. You have a good deal of paperwork in your future, Kid.” Bobby laughed and Buck couldn't help but groan at the thought.

“Oh, leave them be for the moment, Bobby. You can talk paperwork another day. For now, we celebrate.” Athena decreed, raising her glass, everyone following suit.

“To Buck and Tommy!” She saluted.

“To Buck and Tommy!”

Outside In: One, if not the first BNHA fic I uploaded. I'm honestly surprised this one is the one that made start to get known in the BNHA fic atmosphere. The plot is based on that one Teen Titans episode where Beast Boy and Cyborb go into Raven's mind. This time, Bakugo, Uraraka, Todoroki, and Iida go into Midoriya's mind. This is BakuDeku Fic. Fun Fact: This is actually the first time I did something like this, in fact I did something similar for the Voltron fandom right here on Tumblr. Status: Complete

Add Water: THIS IS MY SECOND MOST KUDOS FIC? So context: This is an H2O: Just Add Water x Voltron crossover fic. The premise is Lance is the grandson of Cleo and Lewis from the original H2O series. It's still canon compliant so he's in space trying to hide his mermaid secret from everyone. Gosh, this right season three I wrote this, I haven't touched this fic since 2018 (Voltron Depression am I right?). I might actually go back to my VLD fics. This one does contain Klance. Status: Ongoing.

Mariposa: A MIRACULOUS FIC? DAMN I DIDN'T TOUCH THIS SINCE 2019! So, typical Marinette gets akumatized cause GOD DAMN IT I STILL NEED THIS! I want her to reach her villain era lowkey and give Chat Noir the spotlight he STILL deserves. Status: Ongoing

Friendship in Flames and Curses - OHOHO! Now this one I hoped would be in top five. This is simply a crossover between Blue Exorcist and Jujutsu Kaisen. Rin gets taken by Sorcerers by mistakenly being seen as Curse User. Him and Itadori becomes BESTIES! The comments in this became so crazy, I recently finished this not too long ago on 11/18/24. No focused romantic relationships until the sequel (currently in the works). But I love this fic SO MUCH. Status: Complete

Forget About Love: - Oh my gosh, I'm exposing my Klance Days. This is probably one of the few Klance fics I finished. The premise is after Keith leaves for the Blade of Marmora, Lance is hurt and misses him to the point he takes a potion to make him forget the hurt which makes him forget Keith and his love for him - which fundamentally changes for the worse. Fun Fact: The title comes from an Aladdin 2 song, but the premise is inspired by an episode from the show of Once Upon a Time. Status: Complete.

Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

I LOVE responding to comments. I used to reply every chance I got to them, but took only replying after I update the fic. I got tired of constantly getting comments to update. But, I always screenshot my favorite comments.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angriest ending?

... define angry ending? Cause I can tell you which fic I wrote with the most anger? I always strive to have happy endings, maybe bittersweet. But the only one I can confidently say I wrote in anger was my fix-it fic for Voltron Season 8 End to a Beginning. That shit I wrote almost 22k words from spite from the finale. I still plan to update it cause I was really excited but uh chapter two is still kicking my ass.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Well, almost all of them have a happy ending. I would say the most happy would be either JJK x Blue Exorcist fic cause its a happy note and had a pretty humorous ending, but there is also my UsaMamo fic Homey Touches where Mamoru realizes Usagi makes his home.

Do you write crossovers?

HA! Did you read my top five? Two of them ARE crossover fics, well they're more AU adjacent kinda. You'll see what I mean. Some others ones I've written are

Legacy of the Moon: A Sailor Moon X BNHA fic. After the death of Sailor Moon, another thousand years passed and Luna finds Bakugo and says he's Sailor Moon, but he refuses to believe it. A BakuDeku focused fic as well. It's still ongoing and the latest chapter is currently being written

An Alien Device: A BNHA x Ben 10 fic. In the summer before the last year of middle school Midoriya is forced to go on a vacation with Bakugo and his Dad. On the first night, an alien device crashed landed to reveal the Omnitrix and stuck itself upon Izuku's wrist. This is also BakuDeku.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

... have I? This is a genuine thing. I'm mostly bad with social cues, so I could never tell if something was out of hate or confusion. I probably did, but just don't remember it or simply ignored it.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I.... do not. It's mostly because smut itself to me is kinda just... there. Maybe its the demisexual in me, but when I read fics that have smut. I do kinda just... skim it over. Like I'll read it for the genuine emotion but not the actual well physical stuff.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

If I did, I do not know. I do know that I have a now long abandoned fanfiction.net account (I should move some of my How to Train Your Dragon fics I had there to Ao3). But if I did, I don't know about it.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

... I have been offered. One of my fics was offered, but I had to turn it down cause it wasn't going to be published on Ao3 but a different sight. I just didn't feel comfortable with the idea of having it out there without me knowing what's going on.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes, why with @vulpixen with a Gravity Falls fic. I was in high school, so I couldn't write as much as I wanted and since I was using her OCs we decided to just co-write together. She did most of the heavy lifting while I did most of editing and stuff. I'm always open to now co-write more often now, in fact I did have a fic being written with Codi ( @collisiondiscourse ) for a BNHA fic. But they're busy with Uni. They do draw me the most amazing cover art for some of my fics tho!

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

... Soooo this is kinda a loaded question. See, I don't have a singular OTP that dominates. I have a Mount Rushmore where I will eat any content of them like its the most delicious bowl of curry ever and it influences all future ships. Those being UsaMamo aka Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon and Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask. This was the start and I will always think of them when comparing any current ships I have. Next would be of course BakuDeku aka Bakugo Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku from BNHA. I don't think I need to explain this one. This sucker got me by the neck when Kacchan got kidnapped and I ain't ever leaving. Next is Klance aka Keith and Lance from Voltron Legendary Defender. By god, if you see me now and think "Wow she's super into BakuDeku"... you have not seen me at my most FERAL and potentially insane. In fact, I did not realize how much this ship STILL holds me its claws until the recent news of it being taken off of Netflix. And the final one *drumroll* is MadoHomu aka Madoka Kaname and Homura Akemi from Madoka Magica. Now this ship, while I don't talk about as often as I like is because their story is still going and I want to see how it ends. Doomed Yuri at its finest.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Any fic, I haven't updated before 2023. I love all my fics to bits but sometimes, hyperfixations come and go. I do plan eventually especially with my resurgence of Klance love, but it might be a while.

What are your writing strengths?

I think its dialogue. I often say my own dialogue aloud when writing to get the tone right. Plus, I'm very much a word person. So I think is my best.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Probably a lot. I know I'm my own worse critic, so I'm harsh. One that I try is conveying words through actions or setting the scene essentially. I can't quite get the tension right in my opinion, but maybe that's because I know how it ends. I haven't really asked what it could be from others.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

So I watch anime and read manga. So my thought process is write how the character would think, so for example in my anime fics, I use honorifics if the character does in speak, but in thought its just the name. When there's multiple language at play like say my Voltron fics where I make Lance use Spanish, I just use the Spanish and give translations at the bottom.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

So damn, can I say any of the ships I have yet to write for or ones that have like "dead" fandoms. Take Tokyo Mew Mew for example, I want to write an IchiSaya (Ichigo Momomiya x Masaya Aoyama) fic so bad because back in my middle school days THAT was the rare pair despite being canon.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Oh definitely Legacy of the Moon and Friendship in Flames and Curses. I love Sailor Moon and BakuDeku so much and that one is still so fun to write. As for my JJK x Blue Exorcist Fic, that one is simply fun to just write and have fun with no boundaries, like its purely self indulgent. You can probably tell how much I enjoy a fic by how fast I update.

Bellow selkie au Chapter 18

I am so sorry about the break this fic took! I was too busy writing for BLUE-niverse and just being lazy (the recent BLUE-niverse chapters are very long). I will start posting these nearly daily and since my break was so big you may need to go back and re-read a lot sorry!

Chapter 18 reunited

"I can't believe it, you've healed almost miraculously", a doctor said, looking at yellow diamond's wound, it was less than half its original side now. "And you said you where shot, correct?", the doctor asked, yellow nodded, "amazing and no bullet can be found, the wound definitely is a gun shot, but I've never seen one heal naturally as well as yours".

Yellow's arrival at the hospital had become mainstream news as soon as she checked in, journalists and preists flocked to the scene, it was even rumoured the highest ranking members of the church would be visiting her. Yellow couldn't go a day without an entire crowd being around her bed, asking her all sorts of question.

"MOVE ALL OF YOU!", white diamond yelled, pushing through the crowd to see her daughter, hitting some out the way with her expensive handbag. "YELLOW! THERE YOU ARE!", white cried hugging her daughter tightly, "owwwww", yellow moaned, white let go of her and looked into her eyes, with a horrifed expression, "oh I'm sorry is that where you where shot?", she asked, yellow just nodded, "oh I'm so sorry yellow! I've been worried sick!", white hugged her again, just less tightly but still almost suffocating her, "Thank the lord jesus you're okay I haven't stopped praying since I heard the news!". Yellow awkwardly nodded along, trying to ignore her mothers religious ramblings, she could see at the corner of her eye more priests coming to visit, "well that was good timing", she muttered.

"God bless you miss yellow diamond!", the priests exclaimed, picking up the icons she was found with, "If this is not a miracle of god then what is!", one held up an icon of jesus in front of the crowd, many cheered "amen!" "Christ has risen!", at the sight of them, yellow really didn't like how this whole situation had become so religious. "Those heretics tried to sink the ship of believers but the lord proved his power in the process and saved his devotees!", yellow just awkwardly nodded along, "I swear I could get a sainthood for this, theyre passing them out to everyone these days", she thought, "thanks a lot blue, now people think im some super religious lady".

After hours and hours of being forced to pray and talk with preists white diamond demanded her and yellow talk together in private, at first yellow was thankful for this but quickly remembered that letter she had sent her just before she'd gotten back on the ship, something serious must've happened and white definitely hadn't forgotten it. "So", white sat at the side of yellow's bed, "tell me what actually happened, because I think I already know what played out", yellow couldn't help but laugh at this, "no you really don't know how I got here I was-", "selkies? They told me". yellow froze, "h-how did you..", she studdered, "I told you stories of these selkies since you where a child, I know how they work, and I know you where saved by one. Selkies are very shy creatures what did you do to get one's trust?".

Yellow couldn't tell white the truth about blue but her tone of voice made it seem like she already knew everything. "Yes, yes I was saved by a selkie", yellow admitted, "oh I know that, but how did get one to save you", white responded, keeping eyecontact and seeming to never blink while keeping this terrifying and threatening smile on her face, yellow knew this expression all to well, it was always used to get info out of her and always worked. "Erm...well", yellow couldn't tell her about what her and blue had done on the ship, or how they really felt for eachother, she had to lie, "we became friends after accidentally bumping into eachother on the beach at a small town I was in, when I left she followed me and saved me when she saw the ship sinking".

"Aah, that was what actually happened, may god bless that selkie, he must've sent her to save you", white stood up from the bed and clapped her hands, "that story does seem accurate, blue you can come in now", as soon as white said that the door slowly opened and in walked blue diamond, she immediately looked over to yellow, smiled and waved at her, yellow gasped, "MOTHER YOU KNOW BLUE!?", she exclaimed, her voice echoing across the room.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

So far, all my published fics are for Danny Phantom. It's a fandom that's near and dear to my heart and my favorite to write for. I've written fanfiction for myself in a lot of different fandoms over the years. Miraculous Ladybug, Mega Man (Star Force, Battle Network) and Fire Emblem are a few. (Will these ever see the light of day? Probs not, lol)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 5. Frayed Ends - 37 kudos - Jazz and Maddie are fighting more often. Jack wants to reach out and help his family. 4. The Same Blood - 45 kudos - Maddie and Jack try to help a sick girl that collapsed in front of their house. They don't know what to make of her condition. Danny wants to help.

3. Returned Home - 49 kudos - Maddie finds Danny at home after he disappeared ten months ago.

2. The Broken Pieces Left Behind - 66 kudos (tie) - Maddie knew what the portal did to Danny. If she could create something that essentially turned him into a ghost, she could figure out a way to fix all of it. Even if she hasn't made any progress in the past two months, she'll keep trying. She didn't account for what Danny wanted. 1 . What's Out of Out Control - 66 kudos (tie) - Danny thought he had it under control. He thought he could finally hang out like they used to always do. Tucker could feel the rift between them widening. It wasn't getting smaller anytime soon.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to! There were a few comments from my two earlier fics that I never responded to and it's already been so long and I feel like I ended up putting it off too long to say anything now 😓But I'm so so thankful for all the comments I receive! I never thought anyone would read my work, let alone comment on it. I'm always between two modes of 'author commentary' and 'screaming thank you and running away'.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Lol, I love my angsty stuff and there are so many different flavors of angst, so it's hard to pick just one. I'd say the piece I aimed to write for Angst Fest, The Broken Pieces Left Behind, might be it. It ends on a rather hopeless note for the Fenton family that even I don't know how to make everything better for them

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably Home for a Cat. It was for a Ectoberhaunt prompt that I was absolutely stumped on. So I decided someone was going to adopt a cat by the end of the fic.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Ahh, so I actually posted a fic on FFN wayyy back when I was in high school. I remember it being received pretty well but I got a really rude comment on a simple spelling mistake. Back then, I was just told I had dyslexia a few years prior and I had some really bad self-esteem issues tied in with that. So, yeah, that comment basically made me terrified to ever show my work to anyone ever.

It's been over ten years since then and I wanted to actually get over that fear. I impulsively decided to do Angst Fest with the mindset that no one would even look at what I posted. Not only did people look, everyone has been so kind!!!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

lkdajldkf, nope. I get flustered trying to write basic romance and having two characters hold hands, lmao. Major props to those that can, it's definitely a skill that takes time to master just like any other genre.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I haven't.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Also haven't had this either.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope, but it seems like a lot of fun.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Back when the show was airing, Amethyst Ocean (Danny/Sam) was my go to. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers tropes and it's really nostalgic for me. But, I don't really read a lot of shippy things for Danny Phantom, so ships don't make or break a fic for me.

If I'm looking to read romance, the whole Love Square (MariChat my beloved) with Miraculous Ladybug will always be great. Even if I jumped ship on the show around season 2 or 3 and I have no clue what they're doing now, lol.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I honestly have so many WIPs that are unfinished on my computer from over the years. Maybe a super old one that I titled 'Phantoms in the Daylight'. Angst once more with Character Death as the main pain point. I like the beginning but oh boy, does it get sloppy and confusing real quick. I'd need serious outlining energy put into it if I'd ever want to salvage it and I just don't have it in me.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue! Give me two blorbos and I'll make them talk forever.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Scenery and description. I love the dialogue portion so much that I end up running into the floating heads in an empty room problem in the first drafts of my fics. My first round of edits are dedicated to making sure I have a scene and grounding characters into it. And then I have to go back later to make it not feel so robotic sounding.

(Also a weakness but more as in fic than writing. Summaries and Titles. I stare at my drafts on AO3's editor for at least half an hour trying to pull something together, lol)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I can probably talk about this for hours, lol. I absolutely love foreign languages, especially when it comes to linguistics. So, I'll try to be brief, lmao. Short answer: depends on the fic but normally no. I already spend so much time fussing over the word choice/slang/formality/dialect characters use in my native language. I don't have a good enough grasp on another language for it to sound natural to the reader. ("They would not fucking say that" is my internal monologue during dialogue edits, lol)

19. First fandom you wrote for?

It's a toss up between Pokemon and Danny Phantom. I first learned about fanfiction from a friend who showed me FFN for the Pokemon fics. I looked around the site and found all of the Danny Phantom fics soon after and got hooked on those. I started writing around then and it would have been for one of those two.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Hard to chose one! Writing technicality wise, I'm proud of how What Remains on the Table turned out. I consider description my weak point, so the original draft was 0 dialogue with very stiff descriptions. I was able to edit it to really practice my environmental storytelling. (Although, please mind the tags if you click the link as it does deal with the dissection topic)

p-please. if you still ship ace/luffy? if not then it's fine no need to read/answer etc. i just wanted to ask because i think i saw you post related art on here earlier at some point? and i haven't stopped thinking about it since honestly. could you possibly. please add some more thoughts on that future/time-travel/age swap (??) AU that's basically older/pirate king luffy meeting spade captain ace? because it has infinite angst potential to me (something something you're as beautiful as the day i lost you....), but also an equal amount of emotional hurt/comfort. and i'd like to hear more. how would an older luffy react to a young-ish (still alive.) ace? like, how would their dynamic change? (or not at all, with luffy going immediately into younger brother mode despite being in his 40s or something like these videos of fully grown up golden retreivers acting like puppies in specific situations. though not gonna lie, a more collected/a fully grown luffy in both the physical and emotional aspect is also. ugh.) would he respect the potential time-travel /rules/ that probably the rest of the strawhats would try to make him adhere to (like not talking about events that ace doesn't know about yet, or generally not engaging physically with people that clearly don't belong in the timeline), or would he just selfishly try to enjoy the moment while it lasted? (or a secret third thing, maybe?)

it's like. a purely self-indulgent AU for me because it both allows luffy to meet ace once more/say goodbye to him/thank him for a lot of things or just do things that he didn't get to do being the younger brother (even more self indulgent sub-scenario to this is. similar to your acelu week work? luffy helping ace bathe/washing his hair because it had always been the other way round, with ace taking care of him), and ace technically gets to see luffy as the pirate king? which partially equals to seeing him accomplish his dream.

hello!!! yes, thank you for messaging—I've had Ace on the brain so much lately... Definitely still ship acelu!! It just started seeming like there were fewer and fewer people who shipped it in, er, the same way I did? Which is totally fair, with how much possibility for interpretation there is with these characters.

ANYWAY, my version of the time travel acelu AU (since, you know, I don't think I came up with anything groundbreaking—there are a few fics out there, I think, with an older Luffy saving his younger brother Ace, things like that)... So much of it depends on the circumstances, like, if Ace was briefly transported forward in time, or Luffy + the SHs went back. I might go with the first option—let Ace get a fullllll sense of Luffy in his Pirate King grandeur, haha.

"angst potential"—I definitely see that possibility, like, the pure shock Luffy would have seeing Ace young and healthy, miraculously alien after however many years it's been and yet so, so familiar. The little details Luffy might have even forgotten... the particular way the freckles fell across Ace's skin, the way he was always so expressive in his movements, tensing up in this new environment, leaning in toward Luffy when he's laughing. Also, different kind of angst, but I could imagine Ace having this sinking, freezing feeling when he finds out he died. A sort of resignation, like, his fear that he never deserved to live confirmed. Then, Luffy explains more about the situation—how he owes Ace his life, how so many people fought for him, how even Ace was moved to want to be alive. So then Ace is like, at least my death was worth it—I made something valuable of my life. And finally Luffy has to be like, no. I appreciate your sacrifice, but what I really wanted was for my brother to live.

Also (it's probably clear already) but because this is *my* take on the AU I wouldn't have it get too angsty. Not that I want everything to magically be perfect, I'd want whatever catharsis happens to feel earned... but with any of my headcanons, I'm just not compelled by a story where Ace still dies. 😂 So:

"would Luffy respect the potential time-travel rules" absolutely not, ahahaha. Mr. "I heard your rules, and they're stupid, so I'm making my own"? Fair, a more mature Luffy would recognize the true weight of messing with the past/future... But even recognizing that risk, he'd actively choose to prioritize his connection with Ace and his faith in his own instincts. Plus, I don't know, Luffy feels like the kind of character who you could tell, "It's either you let Ace die, or your crew" and he'd say, "no! I'm taking option #3" and then he makes it happen.

"how would their dynamic change?" - so, tbh, I first came up with this AU on a horny whim. I wanted older, even more self-assured Luffy to just have the time of his life messing with Ace while also piling on the adoration. I don't think Luffy would really "revert"... The way he acts in Wano, and other places, shows that his mindset has really shifted over time. (Actually, okay, caveat—I could see Luffy in his initial shock of seeing Ace, if you wanted to really push the angst, completely breaking. Then he might get a bit clingy, wrapping Ace in as close as he can get him, crying for his big brother...) On Ace's side, maybe he's put at-ease, because this really is Luffy, the person he loves most in the whole world... Same ridiculous laugh, same unstoppable smile. But Ace is also completely thrown for a loop, because you're telling him this guy?? Right here?? Is his baby brother (who he last saw as some 14yo pipsqueak??)? The guy able to shove him around with a slap to the back, and who's somehow able to restrain himself from yelling for meat because he's so engrossed in Ace, for some reason?

I definitely think Luffy would thank Ace for everything he did, both during Marineford, and just their whole lives... I don't even need to get into it in this post, but thinking of how Luffy carried Ace's love with him all those years (this post says it better). Anyway, Luffy would express all that to Ace, and then let that lead into why he wants Ace to live this time around even more desperately.

From there, it just depends on how long the time travel effect lasts. If it's brief, it might just be Luffy trying to convey some way to make Marineford go differently to Ace ("train your haki!!!! don't make reckless sacrifices thinking it's the only way you can show your love!!"). But............ if I wanted to be really indulgent, I could say the effect is a few days, maybe even weeks. And then, I could so see Pirate King Luffy just doting on Ace completely. Being the one to show Ace all kinds of wonderful things in this future, interesting treasure they've found—the same way Ace made him feel that wonder when they were kids. And then, like, treasuring Ace's physical form, that he's whole and safe... Gosh, with how defensive Ace might get at this whole situation, I could see older Luffy and his insight immediately clocking how much teen Ace was hurting and angry in a way his younger self never noticed. Especially Ace from his Spade Pirate days... So, Luffy's response to that could be the care you mentioned—insisting on doing something soft and appreciative, like bathing, or bringing him his favorite food to share in a private place, like a quiet spot on the ship or Luffy's room or somewhere...

Ahhhhhhhh I have once again dumped an absolute mess of thoughts into the world. Hopefully this is something like what you were looking for (even with all my biases 😂)!

It's got to be either A Heart That's Been Loved or Is the Silence a Little Too Much? but those are just from what I've posted.

Again going from my posted works and not the WIP folder, probably They Can't Take What's Ours, since they reunite at the end and it's cute. I'm just now realizing not very many of them have very happy endings. Wow...

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No, never, but I got a weird comment once. Not AI weird, just human weird.

9. Do you write smut?

No. I can't even write characters making out. (Not well, at least.)

10. Craziest crossover?

I LOVE crossovers. They're so fun. The craziest (which I only have a concept for at the moment) is a house md x mcu x mighty med crackfic. The craziest that I actually take seriously has to be the BTR x the Miss Peregrine's universe.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but I got about a paragraph into translating A Sentimenal Notion into French before giving up.

12. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

I started to a couple years ago, but we haven't finished it.

13. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

14. All-time favourite ship?

Probably stucky, since I'll never let that one go

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I have so many that it'll take a long time for me to finish the series Thalassic Arson: The New Band on the Block, but I don't like to say never about that one.

I do have an old "Bucky lives but Steve gave Peggy his coordinates" fic that still doesn't have an ending and I'm not sure it'll ever get one.

16. What are your writing strengths?

If I've watched the source material recently enough, then dialogue. Not the tags, just the spoken lines.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Describing movement, and also sentence length variation. I always feel like it doesn't read well, but then I read it and it's not terrible, but it could still be better.

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I don't usually do this, but if I were it would be in a language I know some of, so I'm hopefully translating the lines better than google translate.

19. First fandom you ever wrote in?

First fandom is ever posted in was Big Time Rush (TV), but the first fandom I ever attempted to write for was JONAS. I've kinda gone full circle in the meantime.

20. Favourite fic you've written?

This is such a hard question. I have so many fun AUs and things like that in my wip folder...

Of the works I've posted though, So Many Things That I Wish You Knew (The Story of Us Might Be Ending Soon) is one I still like to go back and read for fun from time to time, so I'm going to say that one. I also really like Until We Find Our Way and Big Time Peculiars, though.

4. What fandoms do you write for?

I've only published fanfic for Ted Lasso, but I have a Black Sails fic and a The Terror fic that I'll theoretically get around to eventually. I also have some original fiction on Ao3.

5. Do you respond to comments?

...In theory. When I first started writing fanfic, I responded to all my comments, and then I got really behind and now there 72 unanswered comments in my inbox and if I'm going to respond to them, I want to be fair and respond to all of them. But also I'm lazy and don't want to do all that, so in practice, no. If you've left me a comment, I'm mentally giving you a gentle, affectionate pat on the head in thanks.

6. Angstiest ending?

Most of my original fics, but especially Emmetropia. I wrote the original version for class when I was 14, realized it was too long and also I was coming up on the deadline and needed to wrap things up, a problem which I solved by having the entire main cast die in prison of exposure and dehydration, with the main character hallucinating a miraculous escape right before her death. The version on Ao3 is a rewrite from a few years later, but it kept the same ending.

7. Happiest ending?

Nightlight, which is 500 words and change of pure fluff.

8. Do you get hate?

I haven't! The closest I've come is someone calling part of The Hedgehog's Dilemma "K-drama BS" or something along those lines in an otherwise complimentary comment, which isn't great fandom etiquette in a general sense but which I personally didn't mind.

9. Do you write smut?

Nope! I tend to be more on the indifferent-to-averse end of the aroace spectrum, so it's not really my thing.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I haven't, and probably won't. I understand the appeal in theory but they tend not to be my cup of tea.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so?

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but if anyone wants to, go for it! I might translate some of mine into Russian for practice once I'm better at it.

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic?

My deep and abiding dislike of group projects extends to the creative field, so I have not.

14. All time favourite ship?

Due to the aforementioned aromanticism, shipping isn't really my thing, but maybe Louis and Lestat from Interview with the Vampire because their terrible disaster of a relationship is very entertaining to watch.

15. WIPS you wanted to finish but doubt you ever will

Probably that Black Sails fic I've been meaning to get to forever. I'm sorry Black Sails fic I've been meaning to get to forever.

16. Writing strengths

I have a persistence predator approach to writing where I may not write quickly or a lot all at once, but I only work on one WIP at a time, and I write a little bit of that WIP every day (with the occasional day off) until it's done.

17. Writing weaknesses

The flip side of the persistence predator approach is that I'm terrible at shifting focus, so I have several ideas that are essentially just waiting in line indefinitely instead of getting (at least partially) written while I'm excited about the idea.

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?

I generally don't mind it, although I find it depends a lot on execution and how disruptive it turns out to be for the reading experience.

Fervor Lullaby was fun to write and it honestly just flowed. I think that’s why I like it so much.

Can I Take Your Last Name was my first attempt at humor and I had a ton of fun writing it.

The Cadence of Leaves was my first multi-chapter fic and even though I haven’t posted in a while, I’m on track to finish it!

What is your writing process? How do you approach a fic or original work? (e.g. Are you a Pantser? Plotter? Do you focus on dialogue before description? etc.)

Pantser, now there's a great term! I would have to say that I am definitely more of a pantser but occasionally will try to plot. Most of the time I just write as things come and hope it all flows well. 😅A lot of my ideas come from music. I usually can imagine a scene in my head during a song and then that scene grows (if I'm lucky). Original works have been hard as I have a tendency to want to over-explain things and feel like I can't get the characters back stories across well enough. That's one of the reasons I love fan fiction, those reading already know the characters so I can just dive right into the story.

What was your first story and why did you finally decide to write?

Ooo this is hard. My first ever story was one about cats I think. It was in 1st or 2nd grade. I've had random other stories since then. My first Miraculous fic was titled "Affinity" and I first posted it on Amino. It's one I would like to rewrite (and finish) at some point, but I have a few other projects to finish first. I have always loved to write and as stated in answer 1, I struggle with over-explaining my characters. I fell in love with Miraculous and then found out there was this entire community of writers and realized I had found my version of heaven. That was in 2018 and since then writing for the fandom has been one of my most relaxing hobbies.

Where is your favorite place/time/conditions to write?

This one is easy, mostly. I can honestly write just about anywhere - so long as I don't have other responsibilities to attend to in the moment. I prefer to have music playing, usually it's songs that have inspired my current work, but I can write without it as well. So long as the ideas are flowing, I'm able to write!

What is your favorite pairing, platonic or romantic, and why?

Fandom specific would be the love square. I honestly can't really say why, I just know I adore them. I think a part of it is because I see bits of myself in each character, both in cannon and fanon. I also love the dynamic between Alya and Marinette. Alya reminds me of my best friend of 25 years in so many ways and I find I end up writing from personal experience with them. In terms of anything other than my own writing, I enjoy a variety of parings and ships and enjoy seeing how other creators bring them to life. (Not fandom specific I have a few parings that I'd consider an OTP, but that would make this answer way too long. 🤣)

Do you have any thematic elements you’re interested in or that consistently show up in your writing?

To be honest, I haven't thought much about themes in my writing. I suppose my main theme is cutesy love stories, friends being there for each other. Stuff like that. I'd love to get good at writing adventure or humor, but I'm not sure I'm there yet. I do have a WIP that is an adventure story. The prompt is a Goonies/National Treasure AU I was given in the MWG for December's event. I'm struggling with it, but I also enjoy the challenge. One of my favorite tropes is friends to lovers and I feel like I use that in every story I've posted so far.

How do you deal with writer's block?

Music. Just about everything comes back to music for me. Sometimes I get disheartened if I'm stuck but I've found that listening to music, be it a new song, band or old favorite always sparks something creative.

What do you do if you have too many ideas?

I feel as though that's a normal state of living for me. 😅At any given moment some idea for something is floating around in my mind. (Along with a constant radio of song.) If one idea really sparks an interest I will hyper fixate on it, otherwise they live in my head, rent free. Truthfully, I should be noting them down somewhere...

You said that Fervor Lullaby (which is adorable) was fun and easy to write because it "just flowed." How long did writing the one shot take in that flow tate, and have you ever been able to get back into it for any other pieces?

Thank you! 🥺 Fervor Lullaby took about 3 hours in total to write. I saw the prompt and the ideas just kept coming. Ironically this story didn't have a song to spark it though I found a very fitting one to go with it once it was done. Sadly, I haven't been able to get back that fast of a flow since then and IRL stuff has limited my writing time significantly over the last 6-ish months. I hope to get back into writing more now that things have slowed down a bit. Seeing other creators is always inspiring and I am grateful for the Miraculous community!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

ACOTAR and Fourth Wing mostly, but I'm looking to get more works posted for ToG and Assistant to the Villain (esp with book 2 in hand). Once upon a time I was a Miraculous LB girl too.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments?

Definitely. A single comment can be enough to turn a shitty day or even week on its head and I want my readers to know how much they mean to me. I also just love discussing my work with people who genuinely care about it.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I'm not an angst writer and I haven't looked at this one in a couple of years but my miraculous oneshot Agony has MCD. So does The Night the Stars Fell on Velaris, even if it turns out to just be a nightmare in the end.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Last year for Feysand Week I wrote All's Fair in Love & Paint Wars which is pure HEA tooth-rotting fluff and smut.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I don't thankfully. There have been a few snotty people who claim i should use a beta or whatever, but I have been very lucky to avoid major hate and entitlement to updates. Part of it is probably that I'm not as popular as other writers in the fandom and I keep my Ao3 locked. People don't like to be a bitch when their name is there for all to see.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Oh yes. Both fluffy and dark.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I don't, unless you count combining characters from the SJM universe. In that case I have a worldwalking next gen fic and a modern au for Feysand x Ruhn.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but I'm not opposed to the idea.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes!! You guys should check out the ACOTAR Writing Circle. I participated in the 3rd circle. There's another thing I'm working on with a friend, hopefully for Feysand Week, but we'll see.

14. What is your all-time favorite ship?

Feysand, the Rowaelin. After that, probably the rareships Feyre x Eris x Rhys and Violiaden.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Oof. Um, I've really been struggling to find motivation for Remember me? (Feysand x Ruhn) I started it when I saw an ask @captain-of-the-gwynriel-ship asked, but I'm very much a pantser and didn't do anything more than write one crappy chapter before hitting post.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Banter, I think. It's so much fun to write and since I'm lacking in most other components I let it lead my fics. I've had several people tell me I write great dirty talk, but idk. I just make mean men say 'good girl" repeatedly, so...

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Describing anything. My fics are too dialogue heavy and I'm well aware of it, but I've yet to improve my writing.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I'm great when it comes to learning sign, but I've never managed to hold onto spoken languages beyond English. I'm not brave enough to trust google translate.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

My Percy Jackson and Harry Potter was never published, so probably ACOTAR.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Burning in the Starlight/How Can I Loathe and Crave You? as well as Precious Collateral. Also super excited about my submission for this Saturday.

They're more about the vibes than making a fic that's actually worth reading and there's something so refreshing about just writing for yourself and like, three dark romance/poly fic girlies who hype you up. I'm in my happy little dark!rhys bubble and will be staying here a long while, thank you.

Fanfic 20 questions!

Thank you to my brainrot bestie, my comrade in delusion, @resplendent-chungus for tagging me.

1. How many fics do you have on AO3?

12 at time of writing, which is certainly more than nothing!

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

72,197. Again, non-zero!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

That I've published, RWBY and Steven Universe. That I haven't... Miraculous Ladybug, Sunless Sea, Dark Souls, Discworld, Samurai Jack, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fire Emblem, the Locked Tomb...

A lot of things I've had thoughts on, I've written down those thoughts in prose somewhere. Maybe I should dust some of those off and share them. Hm.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Drabble Roulette (Steven Universe) is in my number 1 spot, but seeing as it was a shortfic collection I took part in with several friends, I'd hesitate to call it mine. With apologies to Chungus; we all did a short fic every week based on the same one-word prompt, and God we kicked ass.

Stress is Bad for the Baby (RWBY) is my number 2; it's a fun little oneshot where Yang crashes her airship while out on a mission and calls Blake, who is on maternity leave and antsy, about it.

Sleeping In (Steven Universe) is my number 3, a oneshot based on that "wake up sleepyhead" vine which I though was funny at the time. I'd still stand by it, even if the prose isn't exactly up to my current standards.

You Can Always Call On Me (Steven Universe) is my number 4, this one is (surprise surprise) a oneshot, which was based on my (at the time positive) reaction to the sequel series, SU Future. ...We'll just say there's a reason I stopped writing for that fandom after the finale, and leave it at that.

There is a Hell (RWBY) finishes out my top five, and is a fanfic of a fanfic, written for my aforementioned good buddy Chungus. give it a read, after you've read the fic it's based on, I Can Almost Hear the Hounds, then yell at us in the comments! We appreciate it!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yeah. I like attention and I like talking about the thing I made with the people who read it. I comment on the things I read too, when I've got the energy.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

The aforementioned There Is A Hell, for sure. Pure Whump. Nobody is having a fun time at castle Evernight.

7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Shit, I don't know... the majority of my stuff is oneshots, so there's like four angsty ones and six happy ones, I think? This question is better for someone more prolific.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes and it is also unpublished. We'll see if that ever leaves the Mind Hole, too.

10. Do you write crossovers? If so, what's the craziest one you've ever written?

One of my unpublished WIPs is a massive crossover shoving the RWBY characters into basically the plot of Star Wars, featuring Ruby as Luke, Yang as Han but with Leia's personal history, Blake as Leia but Han's personal history, Weiss as a very reluctant imperial traitor, and Salem as the evil Emperor of the Galactic Empire. It's planned to cover the equivalent of the Original Trilogy. I really don't want to publish it until at least the New Hope-equivalent is done.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope, not popular enough for that.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

See above.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, though I've made overtures to a couple of friends but aside from the prompt roulette fic mentioned above, it's never panned out.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I'm not a huge ship guy... I'd call Connie & Steven from Steven Universe a very formative ship for me, however, and Ruby Rose & Penny Polendina from RWBY is the biggest thing I'm into right now.

15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Gosh, what isn't, for me? I have more words in unfinished, unpublished works than I do published ones by an order of magnitude. The big one, though, is a little something I like to call Another Stranger Me. Let's do the time warp again, baby.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Word choice/diction, and flow. I love prose and I love writing prose.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Finishing what I start. Help me ADHD medication, you're my only hope...

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Not fluent enough in anything to be confident in it, though I don't usually mind it when I read, if it's done right.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Steven Universe, yup.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Out of my published stuff? So Much For Stardust (RWBY). Now that's what I call an angsty oneshot!
