imo you can't really brute force developing your own style. i think it slowly develops over time the more media you consume and get inspired by ! (i mean, i'm still trying to find my style so yk,,)

in my case, i tend to gravitate towards more semi-realistic styles, so i would need to develop my fundamentals (gestures, anatomy, line of action, etc, etc..) first as a base point. i would say learning your fundamentals is important even if you want your style to be super cartoony bc it really does help when it comes to deciding which parts you want to exaggerate and stylize and stuff. (it may be boring for some people but i promise u it rlly does help a lot !!!)

btw ur anatomy doesn't have to be perfect on the get go when u want to try stylizing 😭 shit even my anatomy was p bad before i started drawing in my 'style' so dont be discouraged !

ok when it comes to stylizing what i find helpful is copying certain aspects of an art style i like. ur not stealing their whole thing btw !! but u should try to analyze what parts of someone's style that you like !

like for example, i like how Alfons Mucha does hair, so i implement it in how i draw. i remember i liked how Ken Wakui does noses bc its simple enough, so that's what i currently do, i liked the nose bridge lines thing from mha and jjba so i added it to my drawings, and so on and so forth

obv these arent all my influences, there's probably thousands of artists i like, shows i've watched, comics and manga i've read that influenced me etc etc and our art styles are just a mish mash of all of that ! it's actually super cool to see how different people draw depending on what influenced them so ykkk

as for consistency don't be afraid to use your own art as references ! shit even i have a couple of my drawings in my inspo board because of how much i like them and sometimes i would look over and try to remember how i did those LMFAO

but idkkk i don't think you have to strictly adhere to your style. imo experimenting is good and seeing how it changes over time is super cool ! so you shouldn't stress urself out about that :3 eventually you'll develop the habit of sticking to your style, it just takes a bit of time !!

(TW for disturbing imagery + sort've gore) So, I just watched Pelo's COMEDY animation and. It was such a fever trip. But it's nice to know where this comedian guy came from because now I'm kind of obsessed. But I've never seen anyone draw it as like. You know. An Eldritch creature considering the video and everything Spooky Month stands for (even if it's not really part of spooky month. Think it would fit right in though!) So yeah! Below are some art and headcannon if y'all want to see! (And dw, I'll get some puppet au stuff drawn today. I love glass angel Gregor as much as y'all do)

HCs time!

I love the headcannon that Rick and Comedian are brothers since they share a VA and look so similar. And I'd thought it would be funny that since my Comedian is eldritch in nature, Rick is too. But like, he just doesn't care enough to use or show his eldritch powers since he's depressed.

It's hypersensitive to audience reactions. So if you try to get up to use the bathroom during its show, everyone that's 'fake' in the audience and Comedian will watch you get up. And it won't say a word until you're sitting back down. And God forbid you try leaving. (Where else is it going to get spare eyes?)

Speaking of which, it doesn't need eyes to see. So those things fall out all the time. If you smack the back of its head, it's eyes will shoot out like gumballs (eww that's a visual). Luckily, it has a spare in case that happens. (You can probably spot where the spare is..)

If you get it to really laugh, it struggles to keep up its human appearance. You know your joke is good when this guy is *literally* falling at the seams laughing at it.

Its shows slowly gets more and more horrific as it gets more and more into it but it tries to hold back if there are a lot of normal people in the audience.

Dunno if y'all looked at the audience at the end of that animation but only the drunk guy was real. I like to think it summons a whole bunch of shadows to laugh along for the sake of its ego. You know there's about to be a show when a lot of the people around you are weirdly giggly..

The cult knows about it. And it's actually pretty polite to a majority of the cultists, liking to make them laugh with morbid jokes (it's rather popular with Bob and maybe Ignacio!) However, it makes fun of Skiddad all the time just for the sake of it (plus the only jokes he likes are dad jokes, which it doesn't like doing all the time.)

Lets be honest. If you say the number 69 in front of it, it'll giggle.

End of the day, it's actually rather benevolent and lives off laughter. Just stroke its ego and listen to its whole, horrific show, and it'll pat your back and call you a beautiful audience.

Honestly I just love it all sm??? Like I knew I liked your writing style from the Clinic series, but you're so talented at writing for so many genres and it's just beautiful. I really really like how you write fantasy, like the fae, mermaid, and vampire stories you have. They're so creative and the worldbuilding is incredible!

I want to read more of your longer fics, but I noticed that they don't have happy ending tags? Like "The World Forgetting by The World Forgot", "Looking Through A Glass Divine", and "The Stars and Their Children" are all missing an "angst with a happy ending" or "happy ending" tag.

Does this mean that they don't have happy endings, or are they just not tagged that way for whatever reason? I'd really like to know since I can't read long fics without happy endings cause they make me too depressed.

aaaa this is so sweet thank you so much. while I love writing a lot of different genres, I really thrive with fantasy. it's my favorite genre to read so I suppose it makes sense why I'm drawn to it for writing as well. I just love exploring and fleshing out these worlds so different from our own

oh yeah I honestly just forgot about those tags hence why I stopped adding them to my longer fics. also because my endings got more complicated and felt like they couldn't exactly be classified as just happy or sad (or in the case of stars, I wasn't sure how happy the ending was going to be for most of the fic)

I will tell you though for stars it is a happy ending. through a glass divine I'd say is fairly happy though a tiny bit bittersweet. the world forgetting by the world forgot is probably my most controversial fic ending and the one I've gotten the most criticism over, although I wouldn't even think of it as a sad ending? I personally always thought of it as a hopeful ending, but a lot of people didn't like it so idk

take that as you will! if you want my personal recommendation, the stars and their children is definitely the one you should read if you want to read one of my long ones. not only is it the most solid happy ending out of the three, but I also think of it as the best fic I've ever written just overall. if you do read it I hope you enjoy!!

OKAY ALRIGHT LET'S DO THIS (in no particular order)

JK ROWLING IS STINKY 🤬🤬🤬

But I love Remus Lupin. And I love the aesthetic of this movie. And I LOVE werewolves. Professor Lupin is one of THE BEST characters in the entire Harry Potter franchise and I just think he deserves more hype and he's really cool and idk I get nostalgic about this movie and it's definitely a comfort movie for me.

Just this entire franchise. And the Hobbit movies. My Dad has always been a BIG Tolkien fan so I was raised on LOTR and went to see the Hobbit movies in theatres when they first came out (I saw the first one 3 or 4 times, I was OBSESSED). BEFORE ANYONE COMES AT ME I'VE ALSO READ THE BOOKS I READ THEM IN GRADE 3 I KNOW THE LORE DW 🙏. I'm a sucker for fantasy (hence my current dnd obsession lol) and the world of these films is just so immersive and breathtakingly beautiful that I can't help but consider them my favourites, even if it's been years since I've watched them cohesively. ALSO THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD. I'LL LISTEN TO THE LOTR SOUNDTRACK ANY DAY.

Andrew Garfield was SO GREAT in this, and I personally connected to it a lot as a songwriter myself. That being said, this movie makes me SOB EVERY SINGLE TIME. Jonathan Larson was truly a talent and it's such a shame his life ended as early as it did. So glad he lives on through his art, and so glad that he was able to make such a huge impact on people with what he created. (Also fun fact I'm going to see Rent in a few weeks)

IT STARTED AS A BIT IT WAS A JOKE

Word of advice: if you ever think to yourself, "Hey. It'd be silly if I kept suggesting to watch that one Adam Sandler Halloween movie whenever my family asks for movie suggestions despite the fact that it isn't Halloween anymore and it's not that good of a movie- DON'T. DO IT.

Hubie Halloween is my comfort movie now. I don't rewatch movies and tv shows a lot, but I've seen this one probably 5 times in the last few months. It's just a silly little Halloween movie, but I sort of started to appreciate it more after realizing "HEY THAT GUY IN THE TIN MAN COSTUME IS WILL BYERS!!!" Although most of the media I find myself drawn to is more complex and explores the intricacies of how humanity functions, this movie somehow grew on me. My family references it constantly, and every time we play Jackbox games, half of the quiplash answers are just "Hubie". Overall I just think this movie is funny, quirky, subverts expectations in silly ways, and is a nice lighthearted watch compared to my other favourites.

My final movie on this list isn't ACTUALLY a movie but I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT IT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND

MIDNIGHT MASS IS MY FAVOURITE SHOW. EVER. OF ALL TIME.

The music??? Immaculate. THE ACTING??? Immaculate. THE WRITING??? Immaculate (although there are a lot of monologues which can be a lot for some people, but as a theatre kid I REALLY appreciated them).

I've rewatched this show 2 1/2 times now and I'm just so in love with it. It's horror, but it doesn't rely on cheap jumpscares and many of the cheaper tactics some horror movies use nowadays. It's way more focused on its ensemble cast and developing good characters and storytelling. Sure, it starts off a bit slow, but the emotional payoff in the final two episodes is SO. WORTH IT.

Hamish Linklater as Father Paul is just... Awesome. RAHUL KOHLI AS HASSAN??? SO GOOD??? THIS ENTIRE CAST IS SO TALENTED and the way they play their characters is so raw and compelling and human.

Ryan Bergara was so right when he listed Father Paul as a poor little meow meow on Tumblr Top 5 HE SO IS AND I LOVE HIM FOR THAT. Anyway if you wanna see a new take on some classic horror tropes, commentary on the meaning of life and what happens after it, and some really good acting just... Please watch this. It definitely destroys your soul and makes you think but it's so good and the aesthetic is just... Mmmm.

I've been really self conscious about my coloring abilities in digital art, can you maybe give some tips on that because your art looks amazing

of course!

some general tips i can give you with no specific order of method is: *filters, *what are complementary colors, *color picking, *hue direction on lighting and *layer blending modes to summarize what i’m covering here.

tip #1- feel free to mess around with filters. if you have a program with filters like brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, yada yada, value those tools to help you adapt better to understanding flattering coloring. sometimes you may color a piece and it feels super saturated or bright, use the filter tools to adjust it in a way that is less straining for you to look at but also still makes sense.

tip #2- practice identifying complementary colors. what colors work with red? blue, green, etc. what level of contrast/brightness should it be to help the red pop out more? these foundations will help you decide necessary colors for your palette, but try to keep it simple. and dw multiple colors of the same hue (section of the color wheel, like blue) count to, but try to keep it simple.

tip #2.5- you can also just copy off an official color palette if you ever need to, it’s also just helpful for accuracy.

tip #3 for shading, the hue of the lighting will tend to vary both based on position and environment. i wouldn’t worry too much about it but some general tips are, lighting will get gradually cooler the further it is to the darkest area of the shadow.

another general trick is if you don’t know what color to use for the shadow, warm tones like crimson or maybe the color of the skin are good for general lighting like day time or such. cooler tones like sky blue are good for stuff like closer to night time or a cool-lit room, etc. but again it also really depends on what looks good and benefits you.

oh yeah, for shading layers, i tend to switch between multiply and linear burn on blend layers. it just depends how intense i want the shading to be without having to directly go to the filter tool. multiply does general shadow building but linear burn helps emphasize shadows in darker colored areas, like a dark navy blue. again it depends on whatever i need. i also tend to use the add or glow dodge or linear light whatever is the brightness and most saturated blend mode on your program for highlighting certain areas. i typically use warmer colors for this unless it’s nighttime to which i’d use like a cyan.

these are really the main basics i’ve had in my coloring routine for a years that always helped me.

i hope these aren’t to confusing or broad, i would have drawn more examples but i’m kinda tired rn ^^. if you’d also like some recommendations i suggest looking into sinix design and his quick tutorial videos. marco bucci is also really good at coloring but there are really a lot of videos so i’d recommend colour harmony - 10 minutes to better painting. you don’t really need to start digitally painting but it’s just good fundamentals to learn about as it impacts cell shading as well.

I did find a description of sorts for one but- I wasn't sure if it was comparable to any others you've drawn so far, and just... i don't like to assume? and i don't trust myself to try to work with anything new without solid references (especially if there would be Details, which i assume there would be at least. some. and besides, clothing just... in general... is always something of a struggle for me,,)? and 2. ... ajax's sleeping clothes, uh, what would those be like? i just... i can't imagine this particular kind of stuff in the slightest, so sorry to have to ask about every little detail for these, i simply have no idea or too little of one to work with,, (i know you probably know but it really is just the kind of thing which wouldn't be a problem if i were just to leave it at ✨reading the fic ✨ but no, of course art needs more details,,)

also with the whole tailor's clothes situation: i can imagine the frustration, even if for me it's merely a matter of curiosity and ordinarily i wouldn't even notice, but trust me. i know i would be absolutely annoyed with it if i was in your place. although i didn't manage to find anything to check if they had picked those up yet- uh, with the amount of stuff going on basically nonstop.... it's true they just haven't been able to catch a break so that kind of does justify it- it's been what, a month or a bit more? and they've had all that stuff going on? and they basically toppled celestia? that's some darn good progress for only a month. now if only all of them could sleep for a month straight to make up for whatever restless nights they had from it.

morax' non-canon outfits

think along the lines of what was shown in the guizhong reveal cutscene. but since menogias isn't old enough here to tailor clothes (nor did i give him that particular interest), then it isn't that outfit in specific. either an aproximation of that one, or simply more traditional chinese wear from like... your everyday xianxia/wuxia show. basically any fanart that depicts zhongli using traditional chinese wear would be my go-to for reference. i have to be honest in that i didn't think of one outfit in specific while i was writing, more of a hand-wavey 'this is the vibe' situation. i kinda wanted everyone to be able to have their own idea for what outfits morax (and by extension ajax) would wear pre-archon war. the only real set depictions i had in mind were- well, the colors. i wager morax would wear black to brown to amber and golden colors, and everything within that sort of gradient.

so basically any traditional chinese ouftit you can find in zhongli fanart would fit the bill. then just slap that onto ajax for what he borrows. the only major differences would be that ajax would forego any outermost layer of the outfit to avoid heatstroke lmao

2. sleeping clothes

more or less the same train of thought as morax' non-canon outfits. ajax would 100% sleep in boxers only in his original world, but because he's in new lands and would rather die than have guizhong or morax accidentally walk in on him all but butt-naked, he would probably take guizhong up on the offer of borrowed sleeping clothes (which would most likely be a set that morax would use if he slept at all in his human form)

i'm no expert in traditional chinese wear (or anything chinese for that matter), so i can't say for certain what would constitute a historically-accurate set of sleeping clothes of the vague era pre-archon war liyue is set in. so- uh. if you have a better take then by all means, but what i had in mind was, same as with morax' outfits, your standard xianxia/wuxia depiction of sleeping clothes. if my memory isn't failing me, it would be something like an undershirt and underpants? like pajamas but with a traditional chinese cut, if that makes any sense.

anyway uh- yeah

you can probably tell with this why i didn't sit down and try to figure out a more specific outfit;;

i hope that was at least somewhat helpful! at the end of the day my biggest suggestion would be to just go look at zhongli fanart, but like i said, specifically the ones where he's wearing traditional clothes.

these four are the main characters for my story Breyel. From left to right is Azhdar, Sean, Harley and Dennis.

The premise is about these four going on a journey across their home country to subdue a rising danger that rests within the towering mountain, Mount Breyel. Along the way they uncover secrets, deal with buried drama and bonus trauma, ponder why the Haven was so insistent they go on this quest, and take every step closer to their assumed doom.

This is when they make it to the base of the mountain, after a long and painful adventure. They stare ahead, not knowing what lies along the treacherous path into the mountain but knowing with relief they were on the final stretch of this endeavor. Bonding so closely with each other, the four truly believe for the first time since they set out that they have a chance to save their home and make it back alive.

Sean, Azhdar and Dennis are all Perheras, or "Hybrids". Sean is a merman of unknown species, Azhdar is this worlds version of Dragonkin and Dennis is a white house cat. Harley is completely human.

Dragonkin used to be considered their own race till their dwindling numbers needed to be pushed in with Perheras to be included in their protective laws.

This drawing is actually meant to be a parallel to another recent drawing of mine but i cant share it because the reason why its important is a big spoiler ;3

There is an original language in development for this story as I continue working on it. I have a few words rn, and i have a system on how a sentence is formed, along with how nouns work, but its still pretty bare. Hell, I just made up Perheras as the name for Hybrids as im typing this rn!

The other is a mysterious forest with mythical properties so strong its suffocating. So its a death/death scenario :D

This story is my pride, Ive worked on it for 7 years now and considering the pace im going and all the new stuff im coming up with, its 7 years and counting.

Its funny, how i used to consider my other story, Warynwood, my pride, but my friends are fans of Dennis, and for them, Im motivated for once to try and finish this work. This one quickly took Warynwoods place, but though someday I'll dust that one back off, Breyel is my current focus

watched jodie whitaker's last three doctor who specials the other day and found them surprisingly good. i mean, the sea devils one was more of the usual incoherent nonsense but the scenes between the doctor and yaz made it worth it. i'm not giving chibs full credit here as her only interesting characterization across three whole seasons is her yearning for the doctor in the final stretch, but it's emotionally affecting and good for what it is. mandip finally got to do some Acting in these episodes. the regeneration episode was a lot stronger than i was expecting. i've never been that interested in dhawan's master but the character seems more fully realized here, and the idea of wanting to take the doctor's place is a genuinely interesting thread that hasn't been done before, and it's pulled off well. i'm not usually interested in indulging in fanon that i know the show will never embrace, but i'm finding myself more and more willing to hop on the "sacha dhawan's master existed in between jon simm and michelle gomez" train. i still think chibs is completely deranged for bringing the character back less then two dozen episodes after the doctor falls with zero regard for the events of that story, and this interpretation just helps it so much that i have to go with it. thirteen's death/regeneration was also great, imo. i have a hot take that eleven and twelve's regeneration scenes both suffer from being too drawn out and saccharine, and this one was a nice break from that. i don't need you to read me a whole personal essay before you go, you know? even the "tag, you're it" line wasn't bad in context.

honestly i liked these enough that i can see myself starting to come around more to thirteen's era in general. i've always liked most of series 11, and flux, as barely coherent as it is, is still a version of doctor who i've always wanted to see; the epic long-form time-travel-chaos space-opera. it's as close as i think we could ever get to portraying the height of the time war on-screen. a lot of thirteen's stuff reminds me of mid-eighties doctor who in good way. i'm specifically thinking of like, seasons 23 and 24. i know they're not generally well-regarded but i'm very fond of them, and flux and the power of the doctor feel more like a continuation of the show that did trial of a time lord than anything else in the modern era. it has that very specific flavor of weird that i love even when the plot is impossible to follow.

anyway, no conclusion here. just having fun being back on my doctor who shit for the first time in years! happy new year folks!

I Started Typing A Regular Post When Oops It Turned Into An Update Post (Mainly about MH-AU & XXY)

Just spent the last couple hours give-or-take on completing Cleo's profile, which I'm excited to be releasing later today! Her post is scheduled to release around noon EDT (I scheduled Lagoona's and it made things a lot easier to post her at a reasonable hour so I'm doing that from now on cause OH MY GOD :'D). She will be the last in the current set of character designs/bios I have prepared.

I have one teensy tiny more MH-AU goodie for Halloween before I get back to XXY full-time (dw I have been working on it in the background, progress has just been super slow cause I'm trying to finish the fic's outline). I will still be working on the MH-AU, don't get me wrong, just not as my top priority cause my PPG followers have been patient enough with me for more XXY content. I do plan on making another series of character design/bios, this time focusing on the mansters since they actually serve a purpose in the fics other than "the boyfriend" (Sorry they didn't do too much in a majority of the movies okay, I love them in the webisodes tho!). And once Cleo's post drops, I'll make a masterpost for the MH-AU since there's enough out now that I feel it necessary; keeps all the lore organized and junk. I'll have it linked in my general masterpost for quick access should anyone need it for reference. If they are updated at all later on, I'll make a post about it.

My current oneshot WIPs for the MH-AU are: - My equivalent to G1's New Ghoul @ School (tbh I might just use that name cause it's so iconic and I can't really come up with anything better lol), which might end up becoming a SMALL multichapter should it require that (3-6 Chapters max). There's a lot that goes on in Frankie's first week, more than the original series of mishaps unfortunately (poor Frankie :'D), and it also sets up a lot of stuff prior to the first week of school for them that I think is super important to their character. - Taking A Lycan To New Salem (Working Title), a short story about one of Clawdeen's human-side escapades gone wrong. (I want to talk about this one SO BAD but alas, it'll have to wait til I finish the fic. I'm already 1k words into it!) And I have several more in mind that I can't wait to write and share. Until then, I'll keep you guys posted!

(Random side note: I had no idea how many of these characters were gonna have a criminal record like holy shit dgfhgsddfg)

I've been in a super artsy mood so if I can manage to actually complete a sketch of the team, I really wanna post a drawing of XXY as a whole (I tend to ditch my sketches after 1-2 characters are drawn q-q). I also really wanna draw the "Normie Trio/3" as I call them, consisting of Robin, Mitch and Mike. I eventually wanna draw more characters that get redesigns from age, alterations in the case of the reboot villains, and such, but I think I just needed to get into the art mood again cause now I actually plan to do these things! :D

Also, while progress has been slow, I'm gonna assume from my current status that I'll be able to complete XXY's next batch probably around the end of this year, to be released in January. I'm so sorry to delay its release to January, but please understand I am really passionate about this story and wanna make it the best (and most fun) I can make it. And I'm not gonna go out and say "hey this is exactly how many chapters there'll be," but I might end up making about 70 chapters total including all the intermission/MultiPOV chapters, but that remains to be seen.

I do have good news for you guys, however; considering where the story is headed, I've realized I'm gonna need to throw in another intermission chapter at the end of this batch, with a new character's POV! They haven't shown up yet, and won't until that chapter, but believe me when I say I am VERY VERY excited to write it and I really love this character. The chapter name for them is super appropriate too lol.

While I'm here I'm gonna drop the chapter titles, as they don't really reveal anything. The previous theme was weather patterns, focusing on the coming and going of rain and shine. This one's flowers!

A/N, just letting you guys know this is likely going to be a genuinely drawn out series, I'll probably write quick stuff like one shots in the future, but for now my main focus is this story. If you have any requests just let me know, or any suggestions about this story. I've watched all of sons of anarchy plus I'm caught up on Mayans M.C. so DW about spoilers. Anyways enjoy!

As I tailed Angel and Atlas, I took my very first good look at Santo Padre. I noticed a lot more shops and vendors than the ones right outside my house. I've never seen anything so lively- at least not in sad, depressing Ukraine- but it was beautiful. It would be much better without the heat, though. They were right, they do ride fast, but I ride just as fast as they do. I felt the hot wind blow through my hair, stinging my face. Luckily I wore glasses or I'd probably lose my damn sight from all the dust Angel was kicking up in front of me. Eventually though, we arrived at the scrapyard, a mostly bald man opened the gate for us, and I parked my bike right next to Atlas's.

The scrapyard felt surprisingly homey, there was a trailer and dust in the air, the shade of the motorcycle port felt nice- my thoughts were cut off by Angel, getting off his bike and asking me about my model.

"Oh- the model is vintage, a 1980's Harley softtail." I clarified, giving him a weak smile. I kicked open the stand, taking a real good look at the scrapyard.

The clubhouse had a porch painted green and a closed door- probably to keep the heat out. I could see motion in the trailer, but that was none of my business, so I looked away. My attention turned to Angel and Atlas.

"So?" I asked.

"Let's get the fuck inside first," Atlas whined. "Its way to hot to have a casual conversation out here." And with that, we went inside.

I opened the door, Angel and Atlas following behind me. I wiped off my clothes and my face, someone with a prospect patch gave me a damp rag to get rid of the dirt.

"Thanks, prospect." I coughed out. "Get us some water too, it's way too fucking hot out there."

Angel nodded to the prospect in the direction of the cooler, signaling for him to get water. The prospect was shorter than me, with an almost buzz cut and a decent build.

"Sorry I dusted you back there, usually they have the roads sprayed by now." Angel said, he seemed genuine, so I nodded to him. "Yeah, it happens, Don't sweat it-"

I was cut off by a short man with curly hair and a beard. "Valentino? What are you doing here-?"

"Hey, uncle." I said, smiling wide. He laughed and hugged me, rocking me back and forth despite me being almost double his size. He let go of me, and I finally had enough energy to look at the clubhouse as a whole.

There was some music playing, two guys putting their pool match on pause to size me up, 2 other guys sitting on bar stools, and an overall comfortable setting. My thoughts were cut off by the prospect coming back with our waters. "Here you go, both of you." He said, we both nodded in respect. A short and scrawny one stood up off the bar stool and held out his hand. "I'm Coco, got a nickname?" He asked, looking me up and down.

"Call me Hawk." I requested, he looked at me weird.

"Why the fuck are you looking at me like that?" He swore, I shot him a confused look.

"The hell do you mean? I didn't-" Atlas got in between us.

"Nah nah, Coco that's just his resting face. I know he always lookin' like he wants to punch someone in the face." He explained with a nervous laugh. Coco gave him a cautious glare.

"C'mon guys, let's not get into a fight the first minute you meet." Atlas gave Coco a glance.

I held out my hand, looking around at the rest of the guys. They were all staring.

I don't like this.

Coco took it, pulling me into a bro hug. "Aight, just don't go breakin' my jaw now." The guys laughed, approaching me so they could give quick introductions.

"Got any skills?" One of the guys with longer hair asked. "Call me Riz."

"Throwing knives. I can aim really well."

"That's what I like to hear!" Someone said from afar.

Taza?

Taza.

"Uncle Taza!" I laughed, he jogged to give me a hug. He hugged me tight, the guys wooed and laughed, the tension was gone now. Everyone gave me introductions slowly, and I checked my watch.

12:00 P.M.

Good. I started "socializing" with the guys. If you call listening to their conversations and nodding socializing. Despite my quiet demeanor, they made me feel like I knew them for years. I gave all of them a rundown of my situation, and they all said they would help me move in. Even though I've only been in this clubhouse for about 30 minutes, I feel more at home than I've ever felt before.

A few hours later, they took a vote on if I could join the charter. Overwhelming yes. As they gave me my Kutte, Bishop said "you aren't my nephew anymore, you're my brother." All of the guys clapped and cheered, giving me a few free rounds of drinks as the prospect detailed my bike. I felt famous, the president being my blood uncle and the vice president being my uncle by association was kind of a big deal. I was telling a bunch of jokes with the guys while smoking a blunt; being high has always made me less self-conscious. When I noticed a tipsy Angel staring at me. He took me looking as a sign to walk over, then came the big question.

"So like- I don't mean this in a rude way man, but you're kind of odd for some random straight guy.. are y-"

"Am I gay? Yeah."

"Oh shit. Get that question a lot don't ya?"

"Yeah. I do. I get it though, I'm not really the most emotional guy, but some girls like that. I'm kind of bisexual but I'm not sure."

Me and Angel talked for basically the whole night, along with the occasional interruptions from Atlas. The more I talked to him about my hobbies the more I realized how fun this charter was. We talked about hobbies. I suck at social cues. I like libraries and nature, not normal "guy" shit. We ended up getting into a deep conversation about gender and how clothing can make you look way different just from the style you wear, also a huge debate over whether the color brown or yellow is better. (His favorite color is yellow, so it has to be better right?) He seemed actually interested in me and my hobbies, it felt good to have someone listen to you for once.

Our deep conversation was interrupted by a catfight starting, me and Angel jumped to break it up.

"He's MINE! I had him first you BITCH!" The blonde screeched. The blonde pulled her hair and slapped her, but the black haired one got on top of her. You can tell this wasn't her first time.

Me and Atlas made eye contact, he gave me a look as if to ask "you got this?" I nodded.

"You left his lap, so it was only good MANNERS to jump in sweetheart." The black haired one said while pining the blonde down. I grabbed the black haired one by the arms, Angel grabbed the Blonde who was now crying. Basically everyone in the clubhouse had gathered around, the Black haired one pushed me off of her.

"Yo, Chill out Nails. He's new." I heard Atlas say from behind me.

"You are new. What's your name?" She asked, giving me her bedroom eyes.

Atlas gave me a look- a look that says that he knows I'm uncomfortable. So, He tells Nails to chill.

"Not really important..-" I could feel my cheeks getting flushed. All the eyes on me, plus the crying blondie, I was just embarrassed. "You should probably leave, I'll get raging blondie here a ride home." I stated, giving a nervous smile. Angel yelled for the prospect, which I now know as EZ, to give the Blondie a ride home. Taza walked up to me.

"Hey, black hair over there is named Ezian, we call her nails. She's my girl, she can stay." Taza said, he looked pretty embarrassed over the whole situation. "Blondie getting home okay?"

"Yeah," I laughed a bit. "I could smell the alcohol on blondie, so it was probably a drunk issue. Wouldn't be surprised if she threw up all over EZ's car."

Taza let out a laugh, he smiled wide. "You're a good kid, Hawk. You looked a little nervous handling Nails, just don't get on her bad side and you're good." I smiled.

I joined Atlas at one of the tables where most of the guys were. Big mistake. Atlas starts explaining how I used to look before he moved to Santo Padre.

Through a series of me trying to cover his mouth and shushing him, eventually I let it happen.

"This motherfucker used to be 5'8 with SHORT, PIN STRAIGHT hair and ZERO facial hair. When I saw him at the Liquor store I didn't even recognize his ass! He went on and on, while we were all laughing and messing around. "But he has good ass aim with literally anything. He was our sniper and our medic, he mostly dealt with Galindo when he had to talk to us. Life saver honestly, he was kinda our inside guy." Bishop drunkenly patted me on the back, laughing.

"Yo Hawk! wanna come play some pool?" One of the guys shouted, I recognized Angel's voice.

"Yeah, be right over there!" I dapped Bishop up before heading over to the pool table.

I played a pool game with Angel, then another, then another. The commotion from the other guys grew louder, I could hear Bishop telling a bunch of stories at the bar to a few guys willing to listen. I saw Atlas eyeing me and Angel, giving me a knowing look that I rolled my eyes to. He came over to our table, putting his hand on my shoulder as I was aiming.

"Angel, hate to break it to ya' but Hawks' gotta have the second best shot other than Bishop." He remarked, Angel rolled his eyes as I put two balls in the same pocket.

I took a bit of time to look around. I saw people, happy and genuine conversations. Also, a lot of guys with whores on their laps. But, I didn't pay attention to them, I only really cared about what Angel had to say right now. He took his shot, effectively winning by putting the 8 ball in the corner right pocket.

"LOOOSERRRR!" he yelled, he was piss drunk at this point. "Yeah yeah, you win." I laughed, he swung his arm over my shoulder, slurring words about how he had fun and how I should probably drive him home.

Next thing you know, he's in my passenger's seat talking about some of the past parties through drunk hiccups.

"Y'know, one of theseparties, I had threegirls wantingmeatthesame.. *hic* the same ti- *hic*"

"Angel be quiet, I don't want you throwing up all over EZ's car." I said, pushing him back in his seat so he wasn't leaning over the dashboard.

When I got him home, I got him some food and some Graham crackers, making sure he didn't vomit everywhere. I took his Kutte off and he took his shoes off, but not without falling on the floor first. Eventually I dragged him to his bed and I slept on the couch. I checked my watch.

4:00 A.M.

I think I like this town.

I guess it’s dissecting what I like in fanfiction under the cut:

I'm just.....like It's a few things. The big thing is I gotta be in the mood for a fanfic. (right now, I'm not really in the mood for Persona fanfics, even of the games I do like). Sometimes it’s timing (I don’t have a lot of time to read). This is the biggest hurdle.

Then the next obstacle is......what I like, and what I like for each series I read.

I tend to like re-write what ifs. "What if this character dated this char?" or "What if the series was re-written but with this plot point." (Actually....that might be why I'm reading a lot of shojo "I got reincarnated *as the *insert char usually not the MC of* of a game/movie/book" or "I've gone back in time after I was killed and/or wronged and will avoid that fate" recently.....)

In that scenario with Persona (including just.....characterizing the silent MCs)........

P4 I think it's the one by Fortunesrevolver where Souji is NG+ post bad end, and is trying to recruit Naoto to change everyone's fate.

P3: What if Male/Female were both there? (namely The Fools' Tournament, Raison De Vivre, and I think another but the name escapes me). Be it that they are separate people (and will they kiss? O0O) or twins (they do not kiss hopefully, read more of these twin AUs during P3P's early years). There's also just "FeMC but she's kind of a dick but she doesn't voice it and the implications of that" (not really a what if but more leaning on just pure characterizing the MCs)...can't remember the name atm tho. 

I've probs read a few more under that umbrella but it's been a LOOOOONNNNG while

Next would be.....sequel fix. Looooove me some sequel fix. Read a lot of them (mostly P3 or P4/ P3 and P4 crossover) back before we got Arena and then the next sequel spinoffs.

P4: "Five years Later" and "Fate or Fortune" (oh gee they are also SouNao centered fics, how did that happen? 8U)

P3 same, tbh they are usually crossover with P4. I've read A LOT of these (mostly FeMC related ones) but it's too late for me to dig these up. Uhhhh The Fool's Turmoil is one (don't read unless you read The Fools' Tournament tho). 

And of course.....there's shipping. Sometimes it's fluff and not related to the above two. But it's usually related to the above two. I have to really care about a couple for that. (SouNao, MinaAi, SouHam, ShinjiHam, and MinaHam are what's drawn me tbh, MinaHam obvie shipped when they AREN’T siblings not that I’ve seen a whole lot of AU sibling ones that are shippy but it’s been like almost a decade since I last looked so I could be wrong!). Read lots. And yeah, shipping can be important. I'm 100% happy with no ships in my fanfics, but if there's a ship I DON'T like, it's a no-go. My ships or no ships. (this isn’t anything against the authors work obvie, I would like to think they’d be happy with me not....reading something that I know is not my speed). 

So where does P5 fit into all of this?

Well.....I really do not care of rereading P5's plot in a "what if" scenario (tbh I'll happily just stay in my own mind for that, I play around with my own scenario's tbh). Mostly cause I'm afraid of it.....being P5...and all it's.....P5-ness......but with added stuff. The closest I can see myself reading is a "fix it" fic rewrite but.....really depends on if I’m in the mood. 

I....do not care for a sequel with P5. Unless it is literally them falling from grace and getting their just deserts (and painstakingly going through how they really kinda screwed things up, crossover with past games is a plus but not required), then maybe. I'm a messy bitch who loves drama, the drama gives character development, PT become better and learn the error of their ways (and not the half assed bullshit that P5S does). But I’m not sure if people who genuinely like P5 and it’s cast would think that needs to happen. 

Then there's ships......I'm.....not really THAT invested in P5 ships.....to want to read them.... I do have ones I really don't like and other's I do like and would rather prefer seeing (but it’d probs be easier to just read a no-ships involved fic).

Anyway, yeah that’s what I like. Sequels, slight AUs/what if/rewrites (within universe/working relatively within canon, Non Persona Ex: What if Luz never went to the Boiling Isles and instead Amity was trapped in the Human World? still uses canon settings and rules but it’s an interesting “what if” scenario) , bonus points if my ships are in it. I usually like to work “in-universe” to something. If I’m just reading fluff it’s usually something in universe. And I don’t really care for like.....Coffee shop/Flower Shop AU, or doctors AU, or *insert thing that is completely separate from canon/working in universe* AU. I can see the appeal but it’s usually not for me (only real, true AU I think I read was a Samurai era one of SouNao.....can you tell I loved/still love SouNao?)

Hi! I've been on the sidelines of the drarry fandom for a while now, and have written a few works of my own on ao3, but I was wondering how I can get more involved in the community, as everyone seems so lovely!!

Hi @astronomicalblaise !! I’m so excited that you’re ready to jump in! There’s not much a trick to it, you just kinda dive into the deep end. Reaching out to people to say hello is a great way to get started with getting involved, especially on the tumblr end of things. Tumblr can be super quiet and isolating at first, so don’t let that discourage you. It’s not exactly set up for ideal communication between people, and for someone like me who follows over 800 blogs, I almost never see my hp mutual’s posts.The other ways to get involved are definitely through fests! There’s anonymous fests ( @hd-fan-fair, @hd-erised ) and self-posting challenges and events ( @cocksandjoggers, @hpkinkfest ) I linked a list of fest resources in my post on making content you want to see a few days ago, too, so you can find a whole list of them! A lot of them are based on LJ or Dreamwidth, so it’s a good idea to create an account on either of those (I know it’s super annoying to have accounts flying around everywhere, but it’s worth it, I promise! Especially because fandom reaches across multiple platforms outside of just tumblr!) Fests are such a great way to meet other people in the fandom through commenting on their fics or having them comment on yours, and is honestly the best way to get your stuff seen if you’re newer to writing for the fandom! I swear by it! It’s also just really really fun! Some of them are prompt based and others are self-prompting, but some of my favorite fics I’ve written and art I’ve drawn has been because of really cool prompts!Some other ideas are to offer your help as a beta or alpha reader if you’re someone who has a strong grasp on spelling and grammar! A lot of the creators in the hp fandom will beta read for each other, but we always always always need more of them! You can also meet a lot of people by doing fic or art recs of pieces you’ve enjoyed, and that has the bonus of also sharing and connecting with people who you might eventually form a friendship with because you bonded over the same fic or art!And coming back around to LJ and DW, there’s other avenues and pockets of the community outside of Tumblr.
