What if... WHAT IF

What if it’s not entirely the use of mystic energy that makes Mikey age? At least, not by itself. How did he come to discover that he could open time portals?

What if he got stuck in a different time?

What if he vanished one day during the Kraang War and found himself back long ago? What if he encountered Hamato ancestors who could actually teach him how to use his ninpo?

He becomes a great mystic warrior because he was being properly trained by other great mystic warriors.

But he spends DECADES there... learning, working, living, missing his brothers, and trying every day to understand his power so that he can return home.

And then finally, one day, he does.

It works.

After half a lifetime, he returns to the moment he vanished.

For his brothers, it’s been a blink. They never really lost him, just one moment he’s their kid brother and the next he’s got wrinkles and hair, a hell of a mystic level-up, and eyes filling with tears of grief, relief, and hope

Because Mikey never gave up on the hope that he would return to his brothers. And hope DID bring him back. It was successful.

So he’s older, wiser, and has grieved before. First his brothers, while he was stuck in the past. Now the new friends and family he made while in the past that he won’t see again until the end of his lifetime. And so by the time it’s just him and Leo left with one last hope...

... he can give it everything he has.
