So I'm working on giffing something that's 4k and 60fps in my downtime at work right now, and I was curious what other gif makers like to do when it comes to this because I know we all have our own things so:

Just in case this is confusing - by frame rate I mean the frames per second of the footage itself (like a majority of footage / youtube videos these days tend to be 23.9 fps), and by frame delay I mean the delay between frames that you set for your gif program (like setting your gif speed to .05, .06, .07 etc etc). I can clarify in the replies if anyone has any questions, though

Thank you for your perfectly reasonable tags about that pharmacy post. I hate pharmacy posts on this site because it's always like "the pharmacy didn't preemptively order my meds that I waited until the last minute to ask for", "the pharmacy won't break federal regulations to give me my medication", "the insurance/my doctor fucked up but the pharmacy is denying me my medication because they hate me" and it is exhausting.

no thank YOU for the reply! i honestly saw someone in my inbox and was like. great here comes the hate for a very normal sentiment. i see you've been a tech for a while, which is awesome! i just graduated pharmacy school but have been working as an intern for a few years and literally i love retail pharmacy, i love helping people, i love having that rapport with patients and solving their problems, but majority of the time it really could've been avoided with a call to the pharmacy ahead of time.

i've been licensed now as an rph for a month and while i love it, it is a thankless job WHICH is to be expected being in healthcare but the way my team and i move heaven and earth to get a patient their medication and they're like. took you long enough. like OK !!!! LOL

general question for the rp community/rph+ tags. something i've noticed in the rpc a lot lately is a resurgence in writing characters who are s*x/seggs workers to some degree. what i would like to do is to provide a resource for writers that allows space for a richer and more complex understanding of the industry and how it functions so that writers can create more nuanced and multi-faceted characters who participate in s*x work ( whether that be camming / 0nly f@ ns / esc0rting ect ). please note: this guide would be written through the lens of both academia AND as someone who participates in s*x work. i'm very exhausted coming across sw narratives in the rpc that depict the industry as either very one note, conflating it with s*x trafficking or for s*x work to be some sob story / trauma porn narrative for mary sue characters who need a little bit of spice.

obviously i'm not trying to shame anyone who does write a sw character. we all (most of us) strive to do our best when it comes to creating well rounded representations of characters who are minorities or exist outside the social norm to some degree. however, i feel there is still much to be done in the way of opening up discussions about how to better represent s*x workers and unpacking a lot of the internalised wh0rephobia that (civilian) writers often have which ultimately impacts their writing and the way they may depict their characters who happen to be s*x workers.

but of course i'm also not interested in putting in all that time / effort in an attempt to offer an educational resource for people who are going to disregard it naturally because of the subject matter hence this interest check of sorts.

so, with that being said who would be interested in a guide / safe space to discuss s*x work as a plot device and how to create better s*x worker characters?

hey barbie, what do you do when you've put TONS of effort into a roleplay that you feel like has a ton of potential (currently have multiple plot ideas and feel like it could run on a long time) but it's really not gaining any traction? and the people who seem to take a look into it like on discord aren't talking or anything... i feel so bummed

first off, i'm sorry you feel that way, anon 🥲 i know it can be so heartbreaking when your pride and joy of a creation isn't going as expected and you have so many ideas you're so excited about.

i'm going to work with the assumption that you're already advertising in the tags and doing the usual. have you tried going to rph and rpt blogs for shoutouts and additional promotions that way? do you have good friends you can invite into the group (if you haven't already) for some additional members? if you need people to talk about your group, i definitely recommend doing it yourself –– no one better to hype it up than using your own excitement!!

most important thing i'd say is just don't give up if you really, really love this idea. i'd also love to hear a bit more background on what you've done so far so that i can help.

I’m sorry if my ask offended you. There were many posts by you in the tags back to back and it felt like a lot. Like I said, you’ve posted some really good things there. I know the standard reply in the rpc is to say “block me if it bothers you” but again, you’ve posted some really insightful things. Since there were more than one ask that were more personal to your characters and blogs and how you roleplay, it felt like tagging them as rpt/rph might have been more out of reflex.

Hey! I wouldn't say it offended me, but more-so just gave me 'here we go again' vibes. I feel that usually I get berated for 'not doing anything to help' via anons, and then when I do help, I get told it's too much. Also, I've been told I'm hard to relate to and to open myself up some more, and then I do so and I'm berated for that as well. I also get told how to run my blog a lot, and I'm just kinda over it? Not that you're trying to control anything, but to me I have reasons as to why I tag things the way I do.

1.) I am a part of the rpc, I am an rpt and I am an rph; and in order for others to find my blog and connect is through the 'rpc' 'rpt' and 'rph' tags.

2.) I was speaking of roleplaying aspects, which means the posts were not off topic to the tags I utilized. Not only did my posts touch base on 'rpt' (roleplay TALK), but it also did matter to be in 'rph' because it showed another way to connect with muses/build layers to them that maybe not many do or have thought of. Also, my posts rightfully so belonged in 'rpc' cause, I'm in the rpc and have been since 2012-ish? And for as long as I can remember, utilizing the 'rpc' tag was to find others and connect - which someone did comment on one of those posts regarding my muses.

3.) I answer things as they come. I am not one to queue. I very rarely queue anything. This is important to me, because it shows others that I am actively online and that they don't have to wait a week or whatever, to hear from me.

At the end of the day, I understand what you're trying to say - but then again, I do not. My perception of it is vastly different from yours, due to the points I have listed above. Also, I do not see 2 posts back-to-back as clogging anything? I don't understand how that's seen as clogging, yet there's others who post about specific members and what they talk about on Discord or other nonsense that actually doesn't benefit anyone, and I haven't seen them be told they 'clog' the tags.

So, I don't mean any of this to be rude - but I do recommend you blocking my blog if you don't want to see it in the tags so much, I guess? Because I have my reasons as to why I tag the way I do.

The issue with Matt is that he always cleans shit out - him and his wife have both tweeted and liked pro-Trump shit in the past that I personally wasn’t able to screenshot before he deleted them and because people are very... let’s just say he’s been getting a free pass for years. However, I personally think there’s enough without those receipts to cancel him, so... without further ado.

He deleted the rape jokes, but here’s the tweet apologizing for them. I’ve also been informed the set he did that day wasn’t the only time they occurred, however, I still can’t find the receipts for that. 

He was part of the joke that got Dominic Sherwood cancelled / his offense came from the fact that Dom did it on LIVE. (Also I want to add that Dom is LGBT+ himself (according to multiple interviews with him), and while anyone offended by it is justified. I personally think Matthew not getting canceled while he’s straight (also something Matt’s said himself multiple times) is an even bigger issue y’all have been brushing under the rugs for years). Edit: I also was reminded of his behavior in the apology video following it, and him not apologizing for his part / him lying that it was not Dom during the stream as well.

His All Lives Matter BS -- and a former Black fan’s reaction to it, because their opinions on it count WAY MORE than mine. This other former fan also goes into shit I hadn’t even been aware of in their post / their replies so I’m gonna link it too. Also please note that his father resigned from office due to controversies surrounding the program's racial profiling. Given the deleted liked Tweets and shit, this fact makes his all lives matter shit look even worse.

I am going to be posting this in the RPH tags AND his tag (lol time to bring on the death threats from the... more zealous ones in that tag), in case anyone has any of the receipts I’m missing. If you do, please feel free to add them to this post. Edit: Also because people kinda missed my point with mentioning Dom. My stance is simply “if you ban one, you ban them both” - y’all cancel who you want, just don’t give one a pass for the same exact event they both took part in.

Edit 4 (8/23/2022): I’ve been thinking a lot about this post over the past couple of months. It’s reached outside of the community I made it for (the Tumblr roleplay community), and honestly? While I stand by the fact I feel people should be informed about the actions their faceclaims do and decide whether or not they want to continue using them based off of their own morals, and I encourage people banning fcs that make them uncomfortable, the amount of toxicity I’ve seen this community extrude due to this post makes me extremely uncomfortable. Put Matthew on your banned lists, block people who use him if that makes you comfortable but do not harass anyone over this post. I do not condone harassment, and I loathe the fact one of my posts is causing harassment towards people who enjoy him for some reason. I don’t even condone people sending mean messages to Matt, for that matter.

Use him as a faceclaim, or don’t, block people who disagree with you if they make you angry enough you want to engage with them, but most importantly try to walk into these situations with more kindness then I showed in this post. Matthew will continue to be on my banned list, but going forward I will not be updating this post or responding to anything regarding it unless it’s a “Matthew apologized / took accountability for xyz” update because honestly? I don’t have the time and energy to keep up with people I’m not a fan of. It’s not worth it. muse a messed it up with muse b, bad. despite still loving muse b and what they used to have, muse a is despondent and self-pitying while muse b continues to believe that muse a wants nothing more to do with them.

everything’s going for muse a, until they transfer to a new school or town and have to leave it all behind. no one understands their humor anymore, except for the other new kid muse b who they meet in a shared class.

no one understands or supports muse a like muse b does. muse a admires muse b and muse b just adores muse a. but unbeknownst to the pair of them, muse a is a hero and muse b is a villain ordered to kill muse a. they just don’t know it yet.
