a burger is a burger even without the bun. thus, i must accept that substituting the bun (while it may attract from others scorn and mockery, or even outright pity) does not change it from being a burger. a burger is still a burger if you have it on two slices of bread, and it's still a burger if you have it on a biscuit.

supporting this is the fact that you could put sliced deli meat or fried chicken on a hamburger bun, and it wouldn't be a burger. it would just be an odd choice of sandwich.

truly, it's what's on the inside that counts.
