I always struggle to write purely romance, so here- have a drabble where Sonic points out the irony of Amy's choice in partner, for better or for worse.

Weird Pick, Don't You Think?

Sonic shrugged from his seat on the couch, before getting up and stretching his legs. “I mean, Ames, I’m glad that you stopped chasing me and found someone who gets you, but it still is just a little weird that you went for my copy instead.”  

“He’s not a copy of you.” Amy replied. 

“Metal Sonic. Sure. Whatever you say-”

“He’s not a copy! He’s his own person, and I won’t hear you talk that way about him anymore.” Amy snapped. 

“You’re right, you’re right, I’m sorry.” Sonic stopped where he stood. “I didn’t mean to imply that he wasn’t. I’m glad he’s put the work in to have a personality outside of murder.”

“Good.” Amy crossed her arms. 

“Still, you gotta admit, it is pretty funny that you ended up with-”

She stood from the couch. “Would you stop that?!”

“Woah, woah, seriously, I didn’t mean it that way.”

“Don’t you get it? He’s everything I wanted you to be!”

Sonic’s mouth snapped shut. 

“He’s quiet and thoughtful and patient! He writes me poetry. He gets me roses because he knows I like them and sets up dinner dates to spoil me. He’s letting me teach him how to bake and even though he gets frustrated that he’s not good at it right away, he’s not overly competitive about everything all the time! He loves hearing me talk about my ‘girly stuff’ like clothes and tarot and he has so much patience with me whenever I get like, like,” she gestured to herself, “like this!”

Tears burned in the corners of her eyes when Sonic didn’t move, didn’t even blink in response. 

He eventually pointed to the kitchen. “Want some water?”

“Well?” She replied. 

“I’m sorry. For everything.”

“Except it’s not your fault that you’re not all that. You’re not all that. That’s not you.” Amy choked back her tears. “And it’s not fair for me to want that from you, so I found someone who could.”

Sonic looked at her, then to the door. But he didn’t run. “Yeah, yeah, I mean, I guess. . . that makes sense.”

“It’s not that you aren’t, aren’t like that at all, not that you don’t have patience because obviously you do because you’re still here even though I’m yelling at you.”

“Here, I’ll get us some water. Be right back, I promise.”

Three seconds later, he returned with two paper cups from Tails’ kitchen. He set one down on the coffee table. She picked it up and took a sip. She then took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry-”

“-I’m sorry.”

They paused and looked at each other. 

“I’ll go first. I’m sorry. I’ll stop joking about it. I didn’t realize it bothered you so much.” Sonic said.

“Okay. And I’m sorry. You’re still my friend.”

“I’m glad.”

“But yeah, it was pretty rude. Thanks for the apology.”

He gave a small, close-lipped smile. “Honestly though, jokes aside, I’m really glad that you found someone who makes you happy.”

“Thank you.” She smiled in return. 

Sonic once again glanced to the door, before pausing. “Do you want a perfectly platonic make-up hug?”

“Huh?”

“I know how much you like hugging our other friends, so if you want a hug, I’ll give you one?”

“Thanks, but, I also know how much you don’t like hugs. How about a handshake instead?”

He rubbed the back of his quills before extending his hand. She took it, and they shook. 

“I can picture it already!” Sonic grinned. “The lovely bride, Amy, walking down the aisle. . .”

“Maybe not for a while yet. I don’t want to rush anything.”

“Amy Rose? Not rushing into a relationship?”

She playfully swatted his hand away. “Oh, stop that!”

They smiled at each other.

One would've never thought that you were a pirate let alone the crew member of one of the notorious pirate ever; the heart pirates. Yet here you were under the weighted blanket that Law had no idea where you got from since you were always running away finding new things that catch your interest in any new island they land at. Its been a very chilly week and you couldn't stand the cold weather so you decided to lock yourself in your room and under your comfy blanket. "Yes, Captain?" He heard you question from under the blanket and a soft smile found it way on his lips, "how'd you know I'm standing here?" He asked. Still under the blanket you replied, "I heard your footsteps," you lifted the blanket a bit too look at him, "do I need to do something?" You asked that question with pleading face that showed you didn't want to do anything at all. He shook his head and placed his palm on your head, "it's cold outside, you can rest." You nodded and went back under your blanket.

Law left the room and went to stand on the deck for a while as he remembered the first time he met you. They were in a new island because for once and for everyone's shock Law was hurt beyond repair and none of the crew members could help even with the amount of medical training they had so they needed to find a doctor but they kept getting doors shut in their faces because they are pirates and no one wanted to be involved with pirates.

You were sitting on the house porch when you noticed Shachi and Penguin literally struggling to help their Captain walk since they too, were hurt. You placed your book that you were reading down and rushed towards them to find out what's wrong, "uh, what's wrong?" You asked standing near them your hands in fist as you noticed the amount of blood on their captain's shoulder. "W-we need a doctor, he's hurt! Can you help us?" Shachi pleaded and you nodded leading them to your house.

Your father was a skilled doctor but unfortunately he was away for work and luckily he thought you more than enough about medical care. After Shachi and Penguin laid their Captain on the bed and sighed in relief when you told them that you can help him but they need to relax. You quickly rushed to the kitchen and looked around trying to not get overwhelmed. Taking a deep breath you grabbed the needed herbs. Law wasn't fully conscious at this point but he was still crying in low voice and groaning in pain which made you want to cover your ears and hide because that's a sound you didn't want to hear, it made you nervous seeing someone cry like that. But he needed help and you needed to heal him or he will lose more blood; Shachi and Penguin were standing near and waiting for you to give them orders for anything! But you quietly worked your way on removing his shirt trying hard to not think about the blood that was now inside your nails making you hold back the goosebumps.

Law was about to push your hands away when you got near his wound, but Shachi was quick to hold him back, "please, Captain, she's trying to help!" You went back to work on the wound and noticed how he was wearing a hat that was making you distracted, so you slowly took the hat off and handed it to Penguin without a word. It took you a while to clean the dried blood and stop the bleeding; the whole room floor was covered in blood-soaked clothes. You managed to find the torn muscle that was causing the bleeding; it was so tinny that you weren't surprised how no one would've noticed it. After cleaning his wound, you placed the herbs you gathered earlier, and immediately, Law calmed down because of how the herbs healed and numbed the pain away. You let Law rest after that, and the three of you left the room.

You were wrapping Shachi's wound on his leg when he spoke, "you are a skilled doctor, thank you for helping Captain." You shrugged, "I'm not a doctor, I'm a writer." You gave them the most genuine smile and they exchanged looks better Penguin spoke this time, "t-then how did you do-"

"My father is a doctor. He taught me a few things, and your captain will be fine. Are you two hungry? I made some pastries earlier, a bit too much of them, would you like some?" They sighed with a nod because they didn't realise how hungry they were. After serving them the food, you went to your fathers room and gathered clean clothes, making your way to the room to find Law fast asleep, breathing soundly. You took the hat of the floor and noticed how bloody it was before taking it to the washing room and then coming back with a wet cloth and water.

You took his shirt off and cleaned the rest of the blood off his arms, chest and rest of the body making sure to shut your eyes or look away on some parts of his body; maybe he wouldn't want you to look at him. But his tattoos caught your attention as you looked at them for a long time and wondered if he felt a lot of pain getting them, were they painful? Or do some people actually don't feel pain? You thought as you were completely zoned out before shacking your head and dressing him up in clean clothes.

Shachi and penguin helped clean the room even when you told them it's fine and that you could do it, but they wanted to help as their gratitude for helping law. Three days went by and Law hasn't woken up and on the forth days night you were sitting by the bed and reading your book with calming voices playing in your headphones, it's when Law slowly opened his eyes adjusting to the room and he looked to his right than to his left and that's when he saw you focused on your book, and gently nodding your head. You looked up from the book for a second and flinched when you saw him awake. Quickly, you got up from the chair and went to the living room to call Shachi and penguin, who were playing random games you gave them.

They came in running and literally crying over their Captain's while you stood behind the doorframe watching them, Law sighed at how his two crew members were acting but was happy to see them again and told them to inform the rest of the crew and get ready to sail again in the morning. That night, you helped him take a bath while looking away as you wahed his back, chest, "Why are you looking away? Are you scared of the tattoos?" He asked in an annoyed voice to which you shook your head. "No, I think your tattoos are very funny looking, but they really look good on you. I feel like if anyone else had these tattoos, I would find it weird, but they really look good on you, especially the one in the middle of your chest. It's a funny smile face but I like it and they are black like your hair, you have nice hair, very nice hair." You said that with blank face and he blinked at the amount of information you dumped on him in seconds as you tried to smile at him, "I thought you might not want me to look at you naked, I don't want anyone to look at me when I'm naked. But I changed your clothes, I didn't look though. Promise." You went to wash his hair before mumbling to yourself, "Nice hair."

You helped him get dressed and lay on the bed, "you shouldn’t move around so much-" you were interrupted by a knock on the door; it was your father, he was a very gentle elderly man and was happy to see that you helped one in need. He talked with Law for a long while that night until you told them that Law needs to rest because he needs to heal.

The next morning, most of the crew came around to help Law as you watched them get ready to leave. Law thanked you over and over just like Shachi and Penguin did. oh my god absolutely. like at first you're absolutely fine, having the time of your life, and then the puppies start flocking to you and nudging their little heads into your bump because they can tell the baby's there 😭😭 and that basically sets you off, and it only gets worse when matty's holding a tiny little border collie and she falls asleep on him - he just looks at you like 🥺🥺 and you're completely gone. george is next to you and trying so hard not to laugh at how emo you are, but he's nice enough to pat your head and calm you down and hold a baby black lab up to you so it can lick the tears off your face and make you laugh. but that only lasts about two seconds, because when you go and sit next to matty and the border collie the girl from the adoption place is talking about how that particular puppy (maggie. short for magpie lol) and the rest of her litter were found abandoned in an alleyway when they were hours old and she's the only one who hasn't been adopted yet; matty just goes "oh my god" and gently lays maggie on his lap so he can just tug you into his chest and let you cry, and you're between sobs like "i'm sorry i'm just hormonal and that's so sad. i wish we could take her. can we, matty?". and he's like 🥺 again over your shoulder and he says "no, darling, we've got too much happening with the baby right now. but maybe if we post about maggie someone will adopt her, yeah?", and you're like "yes let's do that. if not i'm coming back for her once the baby's born. i'm so serious", and matty's like "i wouldn't be opposed to that at all" lol. you cry again when all the puppies leave, and matty literally just hugs you better for three hours straight until he has to get ready for the show lmao - even then, he keeps running over to kiss your head and make sure you're alright. sweetie <3

I was pleasantly surprised with the CAS items for this pack! Granted, three of the hairs I showcased above are BG, but I still kind of count them with the pack because they came with the prep-update. I love the dirtier clothes and wish more clothes from other packs came with dirty swatches.

Here's a picture of Lea and her horse, Bullet Train; an elder rescue who is supposed to be really defiant, but her and Lea actually clicked right away. 🥺❤️ Lea is already on level 3 horseback riding. I felt like the skill was gained surprisingly fast, but I guess I shouldn't complain haha.

Also, I can't tell if her jeans are glitching with the saddle's texture (the feet place - stirrups I think they're called?). But it looks like there is a texture issue there where the stirrups (?) are the same blue as the jeans... and if that is an issue, it should not be lmao. Especially not with clothes that literally came with the pack lmao... but I digress!

Need a good default eye for these horses. I think they're pretty cute but their eyes are soulless lmfao.

The build and buy stuff in this pack is probably my favorite that has come out in a while. TS4 is good at looking good, and the decor does not disappoint. I love the "shabby" look, I love all the wood tones and the textures. HOWEVER - I am upset there are references to basket weaving, but basket weaving is not a skill. Pottery would have been a great skill for this EP too. I just want more things to do with my sim. For $40.00, I think they should have threw in at least one more skill-building activity, but that's just my opinion.

As for the world/townies, I really like this one. I wasn't crazy about San Sequoia, but I'm loving this world. (Go figure, I'm a Strangerville girly so we already knew that would be the case.) Lea met her neighbors, Don Gooseman and the "Mysterious Rancher" who were really helpful and kind, despite her being incredibly awkward because she's a loner.

Final bright side: I'm shocked that I haven't encountered any major bugs like... at all. Usually new EPs are riddled with issues, but so far things seem to be pretty smooth. That is a welcome change, but the bar is in hell when we're excited about an EP being functional upon release lol...

I haven't tried nectar making, but I'm going to try that tomorrow so uhhhh... more thoughts to come I guess. If you read all of this... ily❤️.

6. Top three favourite episodes of season 1 (and why if you want)

Oooh. One of them is definitely episode 17. I love the slow, quiet look into Kotetsu and his life choices, and the scene where he rescues Kaede is just super cool and super sweet and super beautiful. 💚

Then there's episode 15, which has a cool battle, sneakily introduces the "dragon" to the final villain of the season while seeming like a one-off episode, and most of all, obviously, shows us all the softer (in every sense of the world) sides of Keith. 🥺

And then I'm going to cheat a little here and say episodes 6&7 together, since they're kiiind of a two-parter. They're the closest thing we have in S1 to a Nathan spotlight episode, sure, but they are also the ones where things get real, introducing Lunatic and most of all revealing Barnaby's full backstory and trauma. And the scene in episode 7 where Bunny chases Lunatic across the bridge to Stern Medaille has some of the coolest visuals of the entire season, and I love it to pieces. 💓

1. Who is your favourite character and why

Oh gosh. I've already gushed about Nathan in the "top 3 characters" question here, but fear not, I will never run out of reasons to love her, so here's a few more.

(Look at her, isn't she gorgeous? 💖)

Nathan may initially look like a superficial, brash character, with a temper to boot, but is actually very sensitive and extremely kind, with a sweet side that's a mile wide.

Nathan is a very successful person, especially as a business owner, so you'd think they'd be driven by ambition, but when asked what their dreams for the future are, she answers that yes, she'd like to increase company profits... to help disadvantaged children even more, and that she wants to make a family with a lover. 🥺

Nathan helped me fully embrace my love of the color pink, which I used to hate as a kid, because I despised everything that was too typically "girly" (we'll psychoanalyse me another day). Now pink things give me complete joy, to the point that I have my hair dyed the same color as hers.

And speaking of the color pink... the whole thing with the rose petals in The Rising. Just... every single thing about it, its meaning, the way it was handled, the utter beauty of that scene and everything it says about her.

I'll think about it forever. 🩷

4 things I’m excited about

Thanksgiving with my siblings: I don't get much time with my siblings these days since we're states apart and generally bad at reaching out to each other. But my sister invited me and my other sister to have Thanksgiving at her place. And I would very much like to join my sisters and have it just be the three of us after we've spent so long apart and with minimal contact.

Potential coworkers: my workplace has gotten an influx of applicants recently and I'm hoping that plenty of them get hired. It'd be nice to get more workers since my boss is running herself ragged working on some managerial stuff.

Autumn season: For those of you unaware, I live in a place hotter than Satan's armpit. Summer sucks here. Hot and dry and ugh. But with autumn rolling in, I can look forward to cooler temperatures and later sunrises which I vibe with much more than the sun being up at 5 AM. Unfortunately, I can't enjoy autumn colors in the trees though but hey, at least I'm not cooking in the sun long before noon. 😆

Virche Evermore: Epic Lycoris: I'm (somewhat) proudly an otome game girlie and I gotta say that I'm dying for Virche Evemore's fandisc to finally have its English release! I'm actually finishing up the original Error Salvation game today so I can really look forward to the future content! (I mean I already bought the fanbook so I have spoiled myself for some scenes but a few pictures doesn't equate to a whole story.) Virche is a fun kind of fucked up game. The mc Ceres dies half the time. The other half of the time the love interests die. No one is a morally pure character. For an otome game, the romance is pretty light in favor of the writers saying "hey look at how miserable we can make these characters" and then throwing them into an emotional wood chipper. And I look forward to that trend continuing in the fandisc. Also, Lucas. Time and again I will say he is my favorite and I can't wait to see more of him.

love how you draw hair do you have any headcanons when it comes to hair?

Jackie - I love so much about Jackie and her hair in canon. She cares a lot about it and doesn't let anyone mess with it. When she takes out her scrunchie, it's big and beautiful and by Inez's own words "cool." Not really to do with her hair but I love imagining/drawing her scrunchie as more bow/butterfly like than it is. I already like drawing her hairbun bigger than it is, but I really have to do to compensate for the bow, hahaha. Jackie definitely has the best hair of the main three and probably of anyone in the show. She takes great care and pride in it. It's like one of her many hobbies, her many passions. Her hair is a part of her identity. I hc she would never straighten her hair and the most, ig "extreme" thing she does with it is dye a stripe in it. I like to think as she gets older she gets more bold with hairstyles she tried. I'm still learning about hair with afro texture along with my own hair type so I love thinking about Jackie and her 'do.

Matt - Takes surprisingly good care of his hair. You don't get nice curls like his unless you at least try to upkeep. He really only takes care of his hair bc he feels bad when his mom has to help him, and he feels he looks weird if breaks the curls. He doesn't really care if his hair gets messed up, though. If it's windy or raining or he falls into some mud, well, then them's the breaks. He also really doesn't want anyone to know how much work he puts into his hair. At 11, he's still actively trying to avoid anything that makes him seem too "girly."

Inez - Her hair is naturally wavy, not curly, but wavy. She brushes it out and her mom will straighten her hair. They use protective sprays so it won't damage her hair. When it gets too humid it'll frizz, just like in the show. She straightens her hair just bc it makes it easier to maintain for her. Plus she likes the little outward flip her mom gives the ends of her hair.

Slider - Thick hair with volume but no real curls. He doesn't take care of it so it tends to get greasy, which actually gives it an appealing shine and shape. He's a lucky son of a gun because he'll get up and do nothing to it yet people swoon over it. The most he does is a frequent trim just so it doesn't go past his shoulder, which is why he has a bit of an awkward straight cut at the ends.

Creech - Yes, that's her natural color. I imagine her hair doesn't have real strands but is one mass on her head bc of the markings on it. It's like a doll with rubber hair but maybe much softer. She doesn't have to take care of it at all except for the occasional polish! It takes a lot of work to change her hairstyle which is why it's such a simple bob when she's little.

Shari - I'll be honest, I can't make heads or tails of her hair. They're probably supposed to be dreads or braids but it's so stylized it's almost impossible to see. Her bangs look flat, so it makes all the other strands feel flat to me. If she were borg [or, at least if I saw her as borg] I'd say they're computer ribbons. They're more than likely dreads or braids, though, which I think I've read are styles that can be worn a long time with low maintenance. Sounds perfect for the busy magic student!

Wicked - Big beautiful red hair and you better believe she takes good care of that shi. It has big waves, not curls, partly because they're being weighed down by the sheer amount of it. Her hair is surprisingly low maintenance, but there are days where even magic can't save it. I actually don't have a lot to say about her hair but... I'm love it... I'm love she. 🥺Oh, also the way I draw her bangs is inspired by Ariel, hahaha!

hi!! honestly I'm so utterly obsessed with CBMTHY and how you portray that anxious filled scattered brain of our girly pop cause like... relatable lmao💀 and her relationship with elain 🥺🥺 it's do precious how hard she tries to connect with people, though unwilling, but she tries, how she tries to build something for herself even though she kinda doesn't have a will to it (now understable why), how she finally went out of her way to do things on her own under her conditions, how she grows more backbone. I know she feels a lot of guilt right now but honestly would love to see her stand up to ic finally. and also... kinda wish it took a turn to become eris story😶😶😶 they just always have the best, dynamic and interesting scenes, their chemistry is off the charts and it seems like he knows and understands her more cause she is more comfortable to talk to him when with azriel it's so... awkward? and kinda forced ngl. literally started to read it because of him and the angst and stayed for the reader and eris. I get that her power matches azriel's shadows and everything but fiery couple eris x reader?? HOT DAMN!! they just make so much sense. anyway how about making them all three a poly👀 hahaha

I’m so happy you enjoyed that aspect of reader in cbmthy!! With her trying to connect with people but simultaneously being unsure of herself and uncertain if that’s what she really wants, then also struggling with the conflict of wanting company but feeling undeserving of it :/

I don’t want to say too much since I’ve yet to start chapter 17, but I’m hoping to write a scene where reader does/says something that’s a little out of character? Hopefully it will show a little more about what kind of person she is and how she might choose to resolve a conflict when forced to? I don’t know, I guess I just hope it doesn’t fall flat when it actually gets written! 🧡💛

😭😭😭 i can’t really blame you honestly since Az and reader I don’t think have had many good interactions? Then comparing that with her and Eris? I can see why you want her to end up with him instead, though them swapping rings is likely as far as it will go—I feel any further than that would be out of character for reader since she’s spent so much time being in love with Az it would be odd for her to suddenly develop feelings for someone else :)
