This ask is like 18 months old bestie I'm sorry but anyway it's finally time to write it let's go lesbians

Ruth was used to sharing the on call room. The space was little more than a supply closet in size, but two teal armchairs, a small table, and a bunkbed with crisp white linen almost made it feel homely. Her first night on call after departure, Ruth had spent rearranging the furniture, hanging a small picture and angling the adjustable lights. There she had thought, that’s better. And it was.

Usually, the rota prioritised a senior member with an apprentice. Night calls tended to fall into two categories: nuisance and crisis. The Folgers were especially good at the former, and Ruth still bristled when thinking about the first time she’d been called at 2am because of a cobweb. But the virus that had almost crippled Third last week had now taken its toll on Hospitality staffing, and so, for the first time, Ruth found herself sharing the small space for the night with Melanie Cavill.

They’d chatted for the first two hours, played cards for a third, and then fallen into an easy, companionable silence. Melanie was easy to get along with, when she wasn’t fighting fires in First or in a rush to return to the engine. For now, Ruth reclined on the bottom bunk, head and shoulders supported by the pillows she had stolen from above. The book she held in her hand, pages splayed open and spine well worn, was from the library. Some low grade romance novel that many hands had held in these past 3 years, searching for something to remind them of how it used to be. The life before.

Melanie sat in the furthest armchair, legs tucked up beneath her, resting a Hospitality clipboard on her thigh. Ruth was vaguely aware that Melanie’s movements were not writing, and tilted her head just slightly to see past the open book. Melanie, who had been looking in Ruth’s direction, smiled gently and dropped her gaze back to the page. Ruth watched her make soft movements, grazing the tip of the pencil across the page.

“What are you drawing?” Ruth asked quietly, and Melanie shifted slightly. Ruth hadn’t been trying to look, but the clipboard now tilted completely away.

“Just doodling. How’s your book?” Melanie replied. If Ruth noticed the deflection, she didn’t mention it.

“Mediocre. Boy meets girl, fate and circumstance keep them apart, and I’m sure by the end they’ll reunite and kiss under the moonlight,” Ruth laughed, motioning to the glimpse of the nearly full moon through the small window.

Melanie smiled again, and the pair slipped back into silence, save for the turning of pages and the barely audible scratch of pencil on paper. At the end of the chapter, Ruth glanced over at her coworker again. This time, Melanie dropped her eyes quickly, and Ruth studied her for a moment, sure that her cheeks hadn’t been quite so pink before. Ruth opened her mouth to speak, but, watching Melanie look so intently down at the paper, thought better of it.

Fischler's just running around coming up with ideas and inventions and the Mechanic is chasing after him adding safety features and making sure nothing explodes.

I don't really ship them anymore, they're fine but like the candy metaphor; I had too much of it and it kinda put me off. There's also been times where I've accidentally stumbled apon nsfw of them and it just kinda made me worried about consuming the ship at all.

Tbh I feel like their relationship would much more interesting if it's familial and/or platonic, I also love lesbian, wlw and aroace Lady Penelope headcanons so there's that too.

My brother and I had a siblings' evening out to watch it in the cinema. Nintendo and Mario played a big role in our relationship when we were kids so going to see the movie together was quite important. We both loved it btw.

My friend convinced me to binge watch the first season with them on Netflix and I'm hooked, I love it!!

She lent me her copy of the books to read before the next season comes out, I'm not really much of a reader anymore but I definitely want to get through these.

mostly rambling about writing my webcomic...

i was doing the typesetting for the next chapter and there's this one part where i was like, i need to explain what this person is referring to for this scene to have any weight. i'll just write a quick backstory thing~

anyway it's. as long as a normal chapter nowwwww :'^) INEVITABLY. i still have one little scene left to write dfghj

generally this arc keeps getting LONGER ;___; i know how it ends and i'm like "wait is this going to have any impact if i don't write something about that??" and in general there are lots of things i know about the characters that aren't in the comic and i'm like DOES IT MATTER???? i don't know.... :'3 (like, not stuff that's going to be revealed later just kinda mundane things that happened before the story starts. but then i hate it when a manga has an entire volume dedicated to one side character's backstory and i'd like my webcomic to END ONE DAY.........)

okay so i wasn't like "i'll just write a quick backstory thing~ tee hee~" I SAID IT BLEAKLY. RESIGNED TO MY FATE.

it is mostly the character in question narrating some stuff so i thought okay i'll do it nagata kabi style and i can totally finish this and another 21 page chapter in two months. i mean her manga is in a simple kinda sketchy style and there's a lot of narration but it's interesting....... anyway that's my current plan. basically how shitty can i get away with this looking..... and what if i made it pink like my lesbian experience with loneliness.......... but i don't want people to see it and think of nagata kabi necessarily i just like pink. MY WEBSITE IS ALREADY PINK. IT'S FINE. NO ONE WOULD EVEN NOTICE. also being like "hey remember this completely unrelated and also way better manga???" at the very beginning of a 30-40 page update. :'^) BAD IDEA.

anyway i own (i can't think of a way to abbreviate this title sdfg why is it so long) my lesbian experience with loneliness but i want to read her newer books too. i think i read exchange diary at a library and found it kinda boring tho? .-.;; ig it's not as sensational as long title. less sex appeal. (that is a joke.)

SEEING THE NEWER TITLES IS. bleak. this poor woman what the hell. like reading long title you'd expect things to get better for her and it's not like her manga hasn't been successful either..... it's kind of depressing, i put them on hold at the library but DO I REALLY WANT TO KNOW???

also somewhat self-conscious about my library holds u__u;;; having three volumes of manga in the first place. whenever i put manga on hold i worry they'll think i don't read real books..... (because i DON'T. i put left hand of darkness & house of leaves on hold too but i've had both of them out before and just never actually read them........ THIS TIME I'M GOING TO. I SWEAR.) i also took impossible people out a few months ago so what if they can see my reading history and are like "why do you read so many comic books about alcoholics??" BUT NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS WILL HAPPEN. i just have an anxiety disorder :v

there was some comedy/romance shojo manga i read back in high school and i think the offenders here were by the same author but i don't remember who for sure :v anyway there were a bunch where something serious was about to happen or the characters were finally going to be honest with each other and then they'd have some kinda joke and it would always annoy me bc as we have established i love some sensational drama :v

With the way this fandom treats black characters in general, frankly no I don’t think racism or classism would be enough to stop them. I mean, Tumblr does a pretty good job of educating people but the fandom is bigger than Tumblr and a lot of people in this fandom have shitty takes in general when it comes to issues regarding the -isms. I mean even a bunch of people on here thought Zoey was partially at fault or even thought she deserved what happened at the Bacchanalia (at least they knew to hide that shitty take behind anon) and loads more had the same thing to say on other platforms with their whole chest. I mean, Nathan Sterling was a classist little shit who thought he and his friends could just do whatever they wanted because they were rich and lots of people still wanted him so classism? Check. And tons of people on here simp for a white dirty fucking cop too so racism? Check

I saw a comment somewhere on here yesterday about how we found out Poppy had a bad childhood or daddy issues and that doesn’t excuse what she did and that’s true; I’m a firm believer in your past/childhood being a reason for bad behavior but not an excuse. For example, I was bullied to shit as a child in elementary school by my entire class and I even lost my two front teeth in the process but I didn’t turn into a school shooter. This is why every time the news tries to portray every white kid school shooter as some kind of loner victim so he won’t get jail time, me, and every other black kid that was ever bullied in school scoffs. And this is why I have such a big problem with people saying Noah from It Lives did nothing wrong and want him to be a love interest (Sorry, I think I’m getting off-topic here...)

I reiterate: Poppy is trash; she is a bad person who crossed several lines and I’m ashamed to say that I stanned her before but let’s not pretend the straights are morally superior to the lesbians and bi girls that picked Poppy because at least in their defense, straight women get their pick of good men and still choose trash but good and interesting LGBT characters are few and far between from PB and even if Poppy is awful, at least she well-written

Side note: @nikkisha16​ made a post about how her MC hooked up with Poppy the second time because her MC is also a bad person and you know what? Valid. She’s right; people asked to get to play a villain and romance one so if that’s how you played it, more power to you

You guys hid your relationship by his request. He was worried the people who bullied him would attack you for being with him.

The first person he tells is Larry. They're hanging at his place one day when he just spilled everything to him. The little blue boy just couldn't help it he had to tell someone about you.

Pretty soon the whole group knows but keeps your secret. Ash is thrilled about it and loves having a third girl in the group. She constantly was helping you to eith your secret relationship

He'd be someone who likes to show off his significant other so a secret relationship might be hard for him.

You two probably made this decision at the beginning to protect you from Travis and he was nervous about his friends finding out and not liking you.

Constant home dates so of course Lisa is suspicious.

Sal starts getting suspicious when Larry keeps texting him that he cant come over just yet

Larry is extremely romantic though to make up for the lack of real dates.

Has several drawings of you and pictures of you both hidden in his room

Gave you one of his shirts to wear to school knowing it was one the others wouldn't recognize

His favorite part of this situation is how hot is sneaking around

At school he'll text you to meet him in th hallway and you'll either end up making out in the men's room or in a janitors closet.

One day you were over at his place and that's all you were doing. He had you pinned to the bed, one of his hands holding yours to the bed while the other roamed your waist. You two were so lost in the kiss you almost didn't hear the door opening. Larry jumped off you expecting it to be Lisa but was shocked to see Sal.

"This is why you've been so busy. You could have just told me man."

Everyone had a good laugh about it and you guys told the group the next day.

He sneaks you notes in your locker all the time. You two do eat lunch together and hold hands under the table

One day he had you meet him at your secret meeting spot. When you get there hes so excited.

"Darling I have the perfect plan! We start a fake church club through the school. That way we can be together two days a week! And if we ask Mr. Cameron to sponsor it we won't have to worry about anyone seeing he'll just be in the teachers lounge watching his show."

So you did just that two days a week you spent at school in one of the classrooms just the two of you.

One day while your sitting there talking about your day and he leaned in closer and gently kissed you.

"That's a nice way of telling me to shut up."

"N-no sorry I just kept thinking about how cute you are."

Another day when you're sitting down listening to Travis talk about the latest church service when all of a sudden someone clears their throat.

You both look up startled to see Mr. Phelps.

What's a Gwendolyn Morningstar?

Gwendolyn Morningstar is my Dnd character of about 4 years now. This blog is specifically to reblog posts that I think match her aesthetic, but I can't promise that more general dnd stuff won't be reblogged to. You have been warned!

What kind of character is a Gwendolyn Morningstar?

In dnd terms, Gwen is a 15 lv. LG Half-elf Paladin of the Crown. In character terms, Gwen is an archetypical knight; chivalric, noble, and generous. She is awkward around girls she likes, prefers harsh honesty over white lies, and loves to sing and play her lyre. Her standards for everyone (including her) are a bit unrealistic, but Gwen believes that anyone can be a hero, and even more crucially, a good person.

Sorry, I don't speak dnd-ese. What's a 15 lv. Palindrome of the Crown?

15th level means she's in the upper ranks of dnd characters in terms of power, and has gone toe-to-toe with would be gods, eldritch monsters and ancient Dragons. A big deal, in short.

"LG" means Lawful Good, which for dnd means that this character is mostly benevolent, and believes that to be moral you must follow a code, the law, or some other external standard. Some people will tell you that lawful literally means "the law", and while there's no exact definition any player "needs" to follow, I found the above definition most helpful to my rping :)

Half-elf just means she is a product of human-elf relations, and is a hybrid between those races.

Paladins in dnd are warriors that draw magical power from their oaths, which in exchange bind that character to a cause or service. Most Paladins are religious, and Gwen is no exception. Her patron is Mïlil, the Elven patron goddess of music and art. Her oath, that of the crown, pledges her to serve her world's nations and their leaders, but she grows ever more and more conflicted to the virtuousness of that cause the more she sees of the world.

Is Gwen LGBT :3?

Gwen is a lesbian! Her pronouns are she her, and I haven't thought much on her gender. I would assume ciswoman, but maybe that might change? Who knows?

What's Gwen's Backstory?

Long and elaborate. Suffice it to say she lost what little remained of her family and home, and had to find them again half the world away.

Does Gwen have a girlfriend :3333?

In the campaign Gwen has pined after two characters, both of whom are player characters. The first was unrequited, and the second is still playing out. Will probs invent tags for them as time goes along.

What was Gwen's inspiration?

Gwen was inspired by a couple of different sources. The most prevalent is the association that I noticed (but by no means discovered) between lesbian culture and chivalric romance tropes. Chivalric romance stresses such things as devotion to the beloved lady and the virtue of love for love's sake, which are tropes that map on to how sapphic women talk and think about their lives. From that insight the idea of a sapphic knight just made so much sense. Things like Gwen's Pre-Raphaelite vibes and other things just followed on from that general idea.

Do you have other characters? Have you Dmed?

Yes to both! Too many to list, but right now I am playing three characters;

• Aesop Fableman - warforged and aspiring wizard. Very anxious but determined.

• Lukas "Lucky" Finch - Human Bard/Warlock multiclass. Stereotypical bard whore. Tried to cheat a deity and was Shanghaied into being an adventurer.

And yes, I have two games right now that I'm Dming. Expect some homebrew posted :3
