the bright light peeking through windows and the bustling noise of Hermes cabin did nothing to help wake you up. the fact that you still slept so peacefully, despite all the ruckus, left Luke questioning if you were alive or not. you were, the soft rise and fall of your chest while you slept assured that.

Luke kneeled beside your bed, trying to figure the best way to wake you up. or any way to wake you up. it was almost two pm and here you were, sleeping without a single sigh or stir. “yo, Castellan! ya’girl dead or something?” a loud voice called from behind him. Luke scoffed, he could tell it was one of the Stolls, but ultimately chose to ignore him.

he watched as you softly snored, eyes fluttering. you were deep in a dream, a soft smile forming on your lips as it continued. the very subject of your dream was sitting in front of you, desperate to wake you, not wanting you to miss all three of your meals.

his calloused fingers delicately brushed your hair from your face. he cooed your name softly, continuing to lure you from your dreamstate. Luke left gentle kisses on both your forehead and your cheek, still coaxing you back to the present with his sweet words.

you sighed in your sleep, half awake. Luke smirked to himself, still running his fingers through your hair. “time to wake up, baby,” he whispered, “you’ve already missed two meals.” his calming chuckle sounded right into your ears.

your eyes fought to open – just a little, though. the bright sunlight burned, causing your eyes to slam shut, and your arm to fling over them, almost hitting Luke right in the face. he laughed as you whined, your whine morphing into a yawn half way through. “hi sweet girl, did ya’ sleep good?”

you muttered out a ‘mhm,’ hesitantly uncovering your eyes. when you finally allowed your eyes to adjust, you were met with the kind eyes of your sweet boyfriend. a precious smile engulfed your lips as you stared up at him. he mimicked your smile, fingers still softly brushing through your hair.

“hi, Lukey,” you mumbled, yawning once again, drowsily blinking up at Luke. “hi, baby, what time did you go to bed last night?” he questioned, you took a moment to think before answering him. “8:30,” you mumbled sweetly.

Luke laughed, you’d almost slept a full twenty-four hours, and you would have if it wasn’t for him. he helped you sit up, chuckling to himself at the sheet marks on your arms and your flushed cheeks. all signs of a good night's rest.

he stood up from his spot on the floor, holding out his hand to you to help you up. you gratefully took his hand, standing up and leaning into him. his strong arms wrapped around you, warming you up. it almost made you fall asleep right there.

before you did, though, Luke spoke. “come on, sleepy girl, let’s go get you something to eat, yeah?” he used his fingers to tilt your head up to look at him, waiting for your nod of agreement. you nodded, letting him help you put on your slippers and leading you out of the cabin.

This is completely self indulgent because, well, I love him, your honor. I was also inspired by the scene in the episode of Schitt’s Creek where Alexis tells David about her breakup with Mutt and realizes she needs a hug 😂

"Hey, Tech?" you murmured into the room he was occupying.

Tech hummed softly in acknowledgment. "It is late and I am in the middle of repairs—what do you need?" he asked quietly, not looking up from his project.

You didn't take offense to his demeanor when interrupted; it was just how his brain worked. His mind never ceasing its search for information and solutions. Sometimes that meant extracting himself from your sleepy cocoon to pursue whatever pathway his incredible mind had opened up to him in the middle of the night. But when you didn't respond for a moment, it shifted his unwavering attention to you, immediately noticing your slightly disheveled state.

"I just…" You paused again. "Maker, this is so stupid," you muttered under your breath, unsure if Tech heard you or not.

There was no room for anxiety in your gut now that the mortified butterflies had taken over. Things were still fairly new with you and Tech. You appreciated that he wasn't one who typically relied on physical affection to convey his feelings—and neither were you, really, but right now you were still a human with a rattled nervous system.

You heard the sound of tools being set down gently and the quiet thump of his approaching footsteps.

Your face was burning with embarrassment. You weren't a child, clearly, you should be able to console yourself and go back to sleep, but you were here now and had his undivided attention. Something that made your chest flutter wildly whenever you had it.

The toes of his boots came into your view as he stopped in front of you. "Sarad?" Tech inquired, his voice softening. "Is something the matter? You seem… unsettled." He offered. The warmth he always radiated displaced some of the chill that had set into your bones, and you instinctively leaned forward into him a little more. "Did I wak—"

"I had a nightmare—" you blurted out, inwardly groaning. Your eyes flicked up to his briefly before focusing on the middle of his chest. “I woke up and you…”

"I see," he said softly after a moment, adjusting his goggles as he regarded you. "You were seeking comfort after your bad dreams had woken you?"

"It's nothing—I was just a bit anxious when I woke up, but it's… it's nothing," you said again, standing on your tiptoes and giving him a soft kiss on the cheek. "I'm fine, I really should go back to sleep…and don’t to stay up too la—" you rambled, still talking yourself out of what you weren’t even sure you needed. You took a few steps back the way you came, but Tech’s hands on your shoulders stopped you.

"Your heart rate is elevated," he said plainly, peering at you. "You are flushed and speaking more quickly than usual." Tech lifted the back of his hand to gently run along your heated cheekbone. "…and you are avoiding eye contact with me, so I can deduce that you are, in fact, not 'fine’, my dear," he said softly, his fingers trailing down your chin before he pulled them away.

"Do you want to tell me about it?" he asked genuinely. “I know that helps you sometimes,”

You shook your head, furrowing your brow. "It's just the same one I told you about," you confessed, biting the inside of your cheek, trying to determine yourself what it is you were seeking. His hand was back at his side, but you wished it was still caressing your face.

"I think I might need a hug…" you said warily, as if you were unsure of the words that came out of your own mouth. "…or something?" You added, crossing your arms over your chest.

"Ah," he said, his eyes darting back and forth processing this information. He did that sometimes. You couldn't help but smile at seeing the brain you adored at work for you. "I understand," he added before walking back to his workbench—making it seem as though he didn't actually understand at all. You took a few steps in his direction as he pulled over a nearby chair and sat down.

Confusion was visible on your face. You told him you needed a hug, or something, and he immediately went and sat down? Possibly to continue the task you had just interrupted? But he didn't start working; he just looked at you expectantly.

"Come here, sarad," he said gently, shifting in the seat and patting his legs.

You smiled slowly, now understanding, and tiptoed over to him, gingerly taking a seat in his lap. He pulled you to him tightly, encouraging you to relax and lounge fully on him. He kissed the top of your head and ran his hand up and down your spine as you curled into the crook of his neck, inhaling his familiar scent of clean soap and mechanical ozone.

"This is nice," you sighed contentedly, feeling the tension in your chest releasing.

"Good," he quipped, brushing your face with his fingers again. "Rest. Fall asleep if you wish… I shall be here."

"Thank you," you murmured, curling your arm around his waist and closing your eyes. Tech's hands eventually left you to resume his task, but he pressed his lips into the top of your head every so often, reminding you he was still right there with you. His warmth and the steady thrum of his heart soothed you, while the sounds of his gentle tinkering and even breathing lulled you back into a peaceful sleep.

When you awoke, you found yourself back in Tech's bunk, but this time he was wrapped around you, snoring softly into your shoulder.

TRAFALGAR LAW x READER

Summary: Law can't seem to shake the uneasy feeling he's had since he's awoken. Is it the smell? Or perhaps he's sick.. and then.. oh dear. Will he give in to that cute, cute pout of yours?

A/N: help this was so frigging cute to write 😭 @ems-c-lee you know I've gotta do it! AHHHHHH *violent screeching over doc ensues*

The first thing he'd noticed when he'd woken up was an odd, cinnamon and - very sweet smelling thing. Wearily blinking his eyes, body heavy from sleep, Law raised his head off his desk, noting he must've fallen asleep during another study. Limbs stretching, and allowing his mind to wake up, he noted the still hot coffee that had been placed on his desk. Of course, he thought, the slightest of smiles gracing his features, (Name)-ya always anticipates when ill wake. Taking the cup and stealing a quick sip from it, Law pulled on a hoodie and made to exit his room.

However, the moment he did, he was hit with a wave of unease. That smell was turning his stomach, just a bit. Which was odd. Being the ship's cook, he had always loved most of your cooking. Each flavor complimented the other, and while his sleepy mind could only tell cinnamon from the smell, he didn't mind cinnamon. Well, it could be how sweet it smells. He wasn't the largest fan of sweets, but what could possibly go wrong?

Each step increased that slightly uneasy feeling. His mind slipped away from the smell, for it couldn't be that: worry drifting into his mind. Somethings wrong. Something must be. Maybe its with me? Am I sick? This feeling could easily be sickness, and I'm mixing it up with anxiety. Ugh.

Opening the door to the kitchen, Law made a mental note to keep a physical distance from anyone until he did a check-up on himself. He was met with the kitchen to be crowded-

"These are so good, (Name)! Why didn't you make these sooner?!"

"My stomach is.. in heaven."

"Thats weird, dude!"

There you were. Leaning against the counter with a satisfied glint in your eyes, laughing at the crews antics with whatever it was you had made. Yet that feeling, it worsened, but in the moment, Law chose to ignore it, feeling his mind melt when your smile directed at him.

"Captain! You're up early." You greeted, moving over to meet him. Law nodded, taking a quick drink from his coffee. "Had a weird feeling. It's a bit early for breakfast." He glanced at the crew, who'd hadn't noticed him. "I'll get breakfast started in a few, yeah. I decided I'd mess around and make an old favorite though! Cinnabuns!"

Oh. Oh that's why he had a weird feeling.

"...bread." Law stated, raising an eyebrow. He found himself physically withdrawing himself closer to the door, and you laughed, "hardly! Sure it's made from dough but it's delicious! Cinnamon and sugary and gooey goodness!"

Law mentally cringed, and by now, the three others in the kitchen had taken note of Law's presence. Penguin chimed in, "mornin' Captain! She's absolutely right, you should try one!"

Bepo, who was currently looking like his brain had gone to heaven, "they're amazing!" And Sachi, "I bet you might even like it! It's (Name)'s cooking, after all."

"No way. Keep that bread nonsense away from me." Law grumbled, slowly moving towards the door. You chuckled softly at his movements, staring up at him with doe like eyes.

"Captain.. I spent hours on these.. atleast try it! One small bite?"

You pleaded with him, knowing damn well what his weakness was. Puppy eyes. That way you peered up at him, eyes so wide and innocent, a smallest of pouts resting on your face. It didn't help that Bepo was right behind him, staring at Law with that damn adorable fuzzy face. He could barely resist Bepo, let alone you. And with the two of you combined?

"...don't make me try the most breadlike sweets in existence, idiot!"

You had him backed to the wall, still staring at him, and god he was struggling. "Captain.. jist one bite! I promise I won't make you try any other bread thing againnnnn.." honestly, you weren't even aiming to make him try it: but the way he was squirming was absolutely precious, his ears turning pink as he mentally battled the pros and cons.

"...Room."

"Ack! Scatter!" Penguin shouted, laughter filling the kitchen once again as you all scrambled to escape, but it was futile. Atleast it was for you. One second, you were almost out the door, and then-

"-shambles."

You were in Law's. You could never quite get used to his powers moving you around, it was rather disorienting for your mind. Looking back, you saw him: tall, stoic, a shadow over his eyes, ..and a cinnamon bun in his hand.

"Cap- Law," you corrected yourself. In private, he insisted you call him by his first name. In public.. well, the crew wasn't aware the two of you were dating, so you kept it professional with them. Even if you both weren't aware the crew had long since figured out you both were dating. "-you don't actually need to try it, I was just teasing-"

He raised a hand to silence you. "..just.. give me a minute." Law was glaring at the sweet bread treat in his hand, mentally battling if it was worth taking a bite. Even now when you reassured him of that, you still had those expectant, curious doe like eyes and that cute pout on your face.

You watched as he took a bite, slow and cautious. He was expressionless, chewing it for what seemed like hours, before swallowing and setting the treat down on his desk.

Slowly, the man moved towards you. You laughed nervously, stepping away with each step towards you, "..was it good?"

He moved closer until your back was to the wall, and he was right in front of you. Tattooed hands gripped at your shoulders as he lowered his forehead to rest on yours, staring at you intently. "...law?" You questioned, unsure if he was having some sort of allergic reaction, or post cinnabun crisis, but you shied away regardless.

"...." He dropped his head on your shoulder and pulled you close- tighter than usual.

"..if it wasn't bread, it might've been good." He forced out at last, pressing his face into your neck. "But please, dear heavens, never make me eat that again."

A relieved breath escaped you as you laughed, wrapping your arms around your tense boyfriend, "Roger that! ...I'll make not bread Cinnamon buns then! ..somehow."

"I'd like that."

Chapter 1

At the phone

"Tchiuuya-kun..."

"eh? Y/n? Is it you? And it's 'Chuuya', not 'Tchiuya'."

"yes, it's me.. and I know your name, it's just my nose's fault..."

"...uh...why? Are you okay?"

"is this the voice of someone who's okay? (sneeze)"

"no, it isn't, I just didn't want to tell you you sounded terrible. Are you sick?"

"yeah..."

"really? Is it because of yesterday? But you wore the scarf and the hat and everything..."

"yeah well, apparently it wasn't enough. I feel shitty..."

"I'm coming over."

Someone knocks at your door. You know it's Chuuya, so you don't even bother to ask it and you just slowly get up from the couch, all wrapped around a blanket as you open the door, looking at him with tired eyes and a red nose "Hi...". He stares at you for a few moments after you greet him, then steps in your apartment, let something fall on the floor before you notice, close the door behind him, and hold you by your shoulders taking you back to the sofa. When you sit down again and adjust the blanket around your body he lets out a soft sigh and mutters "Stay here." He walks back to the door and take a bag, which you guess was what he let on the floor a few moments ago, and take a box out of it. He gets back to the living room and sit on the sofa next to you, handing you the red rectangular box "this is for you.. "...what is it?" He just puts it on your lap "chocolate. You say it makes you feel better.". "oh....yes... it does... thank you.." you say, watching the box and turning it around in your hands to observe it. Then you sneeze loudly and blow your nose, that becomes even redder that before. He looks at you as nothing happened, shrugs slightly and puts his hat on the round wooden table in front of the couch, leaning back slightly and wrapping one arm around your shoulders, keeping you close to him. "Just focus on getting well soon.". You blink a couple of times, surprised by the sudden action, but fastly relax and let yourself be cuddled and slowly falling asleep in his arms. He stays still, holding you firmly. He's not even bored. He's happy to be there for you, to be the one you called when you needed help. He'd do anything for you.

Sure, though, that you sleep a lot. He's already sitting there since an hour, not moving and just observing you to make sure you're okay. He's starting to get sleepy too, like this. He looks at the watch, then decide that since you don't wake up he can fall asleep too. After a few minutes he feels himself falling asleep, his grip on you loosening just slightly as his eyes flush closed too.

Three hours later

You slowly wake up, your eyes fluttering open just slightly, trying to remember what happened. You still have a little headache, but you feel better after sleeping for so long. You adjust your position, grabbing Chuuya's arms and wrapping them a little tighter around yourself, resting your head on his shoulder. He just runs his hand in your hair, half asleep since he just woke up as well. "How do you feel?.." you keep quiet for a while, thinking, then reply "a little better, but not good. My nose and head hurt, and I have a little nausea..". He hums in response and mutters something that can barely be heard, but you think it's "I'll stay here as long as you need me."

Ahhhhhh so this is the second chapter!!! I'm so happy!!! I hope y'all like it 💛💛💛

I didn't want to comment my reply again on the civilian dazai fic but OMG FYO IT WAS REALLY GOOD

I will say it deffo felt much light hearted and had a friday fellthan waterloo and even wykyk but I think that's cause the ✨️drama✨️ btwn them hadn't started yet and also the fact that I know they aren't doomed by the narrative (you) this time 💀

But I am liking the way it is going it already has me hooked and I am so very excited 😊 and God damn I LOVE love the reader so much. She's much more badass and ahhhh dazai is so cute and pathetic I lub him <3

Also fun fact after my 3 hour exam and after 2 sleepless nights, I did the exam well and came rushing home and held myself to read this awesomeness before sleeping for like 8 hours straight. When I woke up I read it again not in a sleepy haze to get the full experience XD that's how much I love your quality top notch fics

I think the reader's ability is a great and beautiful choice. It's not overpowering to change the plot or invite plot holes but powerful enough to impact everyday life. It really keeps me asking if the reader is using her ability on a certain situation or not and I really love that feature.

AHHHHHH I'M SO GLAD U ENJOYED IT ive had soooooo much fun writing civzai and pmreader. IT'S DEFINITELY MUCH MORE LIGHTHEARTED THAN ANY OF THE OTHER SERIES SO FAR but don't worry the drama starts in the next chapter LOLLLL and it doesn't slow down from there. THEY DON'T DIE THO i feel like i have to say this every time LOLLLLL

YESSSSS PM READER IS SO FUN TO WRITE like she's alwaysssss fun to write but it's particularly fun being able to write her from the viewpoint of dazai as a civilian who isn't like used to seeing her already. like she's very similar in the original universe but dazai has known her for so long there that he's become used to her yk, meanwhile this dazai sees her in a very fresh light if u get what i mean. it's the change in perspective that's so fun to write here

AND OMG IM GLAD - i was so conflicted about how to phrase/what to make her ability because i didn't want to make it too op but at the same time .. she's a port mafia executive, she needs to have a pretty notable ability, and then i was like wait ... her whole thing is politics and negotiations, so obviously it has to be something along the lines of fucking with ppl's minds/brains, but i needed to obviously whittle that down because mind control is just too ridiculous, so i got the idea of her being able to like induce emotions + states onto people BUT they're able to draw themselves out of it if they have the strength for it.

some things are easier to brush off, but other things aren't. like she can put people to sleep with her ability and they can't really drag themselves out of that because now they're sleeping, and inducing fear in particular is pretty hard for people to draw themselves out of because it spirals quickly. but for negotiations and stuff, when she's making them feel as if she's more trustworthy/more susceptible to taking bad terms, she has to be SO careful & calculated with her every word because any small thing could make them double take and jar them out of the induced state.

actually, in civzai universe, it's going to be really interesting because without dazai there to stop chuuya from using corruption, reader and chuuya had to figure out a way to knock him out of it themselves - which they DID and it involves her ability but it's SOOOO dangerous for her so they end up not really using corruption often. this actually comes up in the next chapter

hiya carrot giving you this entire fanfic thing I wrote while on the bus (copy and pasted directly from my rambles I gave my sis so the formating is really bad also its like no where near finished if i do finish it ill probablypost it to Ao3 eventually ahh its basicallyjust an idea rn and really really bad like so bad rn)

it starts with Iggy and Genzou outside of a bar Genzou had taken Iggy on a date to just to get some food and good beer after uh Genzou maybe got in an argument with another bar patron and ended up getting a drink spilt on him. Iggy keeps reassuring Genzou that it's alright and that it wasn't his fault that a rude person decided to say something rude to them. And so then uhh they are walking to the bus stop and it's late and as they approach the bus stop Iggy sees the last bus of the night starting to leave and he desperately tries to run after it weezing as he yells in vain. His poor little stick legs don't carry him far before he sees Genzou come up next to him and I'd just like "That was the last bus wasn't it?" and Iggy just gulps and responds "Yeah" cue exasperated and frustrated screaming. The two of them end up walking. Their in a somewhat unfamiliar part of town/maybe in the city(?) but for a while they're like maybe this is nice just walking next to each other and chatting. Until Iggy realizes they have been walking in circles... Genzou decides to try and call an Uber... it starts to rain... Genzou drops his phone... the phone won't turn on anymore... Iggy realizes his phone is also outta juice. Cue Genzou internally freaking out about he fucked everything up and blaming himself for the situation cause he just wanted to have a nice day with iggy and they wouldn't even be in the situation if he hadn't had dragged iggy out there. iggy kinda noticing that genzous being awfully quiet decides to take his hand and they start walking again. The rain is pouring down as they walk it's now probably midnight. Iggys head is starting to nod up and down as he walks. They stop for a bit and take a rest on a bench or something they are soaking wet and shivering. Genzou takes his jacket and drapes it around iggys shoulders and notices how iggys breathing is slowing a bit as his boyfriend starts to nod off to sleep.And so genzou kinda lifts iggy up with one arm kinda carrying him on his hip as they continue with the walk back home. Eventually a very very confused passing car pulls over and asks them if they need help? Genzou deciding to set his pride aside accepts the help of the stranger. Iggy, barely lucid helps direct the person to getting them back to their apartment (and get this they were probably only 20-30 minutes out from getting there by foot) and so they return home and they help each other dry off their hair and maybe have kinda emotional chat and kisses before they both pass out on the couch

yeah its not that great 😵‍💫

but I'm super excited to continue fleshing this out :3 ;3 ahhhhhh yeah I just like them so much I think their neat :]

I really love this! it's such a sweet story ahhh... ahhhh especially the idea of Genzou helping Iggy try to walk even though he's so sleepy and cold. sob I can already imagine them half-snuggling in the back of the car trying to get warm. And then finally getting back and Genzou is all embarrassed and depressed that things went so poorly but Iggy doesn't care and just gives him a kiss on his nose.......

i'm here to pop in with a tiny little modern au scenario that's driven me crazy all day and i can't get it out of my head - so as we established akaza studies educational science and at some point when kyojuro's friends are still in the process of getting closer to him the topic of their subjects comes up. it's late at night, they've all been talking for hours and akaza is leaning onto kyojuro half asleep, his contributions to the conversation are few and most of them are half sentences, he's really tired. sabito talks a bit about the elementary school where he works and mitsuri turns to akaza; "do you wanna be a teacher too? or... i don't know what else there is, what do you wanna do with it?" akaza thinks about the answer for a few seconds and they almost think he fell asleep already but then he answers in this really soft quiet voice you get when you're tired: "help." and before they can say anything to that he passes out on kyojuro's shoulder

*sobs* AHHHHHH! THIS IS SO CUTE! The idea of Akaza being very sleepy and just nodding along with everyone as the chat goes on; he's paying attention, he just doesn't have the strength to contribute now that he's been entrapped in Rengoku's cologne and the warmth of his shoulder.

And the soft little" "help."- JUST AHHH! I love the idea of Akaza possibly being a student counselor? The really great kind who understands even the toughest, most hurt kids and really gets to know each of them on a one to one level! He'd also be couch for the MMA club- they'd have a little dojo just outside the school and all the kids would greet him even if they don't go to the club cause as a counselor he's known for having little candies he gives all the kids who come by (his pockets are always full of treats. He keeps a plastic pumpkin head full of candy in his car 24/7 just for them). He's the chill but respectful kinda guy; a bit intimidating when you first meet him cause of his tattoos, expression and nature, but when you really get to know him you learn he will fight with his entire being for these kids.

Oh my god and everyone in the room just kinda being all overcome with a wave of emotion that's broken when he snores loudly it sounds like Sanemi's dog and BOOM! They've achieved a new understanding of one another.

I'm so sleepy is 1.30 but guys omg HADESTOWN WAS SO SO SO GOOD AHHHHHH I've never seen a musical that's so damn smart!! It had so much to say and so many layers that I'm way to tired to communicate but if any of you ever get the opportunity to see it I really reccomend!!!!!
