Chapter 5
Ao'ite had just told the Sullys about the fact that you are now Neteyam's mate and is pregnant, after walking for a while through the rainforest to get to their home.
Neytiri wasted no time and started to say:
"We know about it. Jake told me. I would expect something like that from Lo'ak, I never thought Neteyam could be this impulsive but anyway... We are happy to know we are gonna be grandparents." She smiled slightly but was still shaken by all the surprise bombs that have been thrown in her lap since not many hours ago
Neteyam smiled wide, brows together, a heavy breath leaving his catlike nose. He couldn't believe the news he was hearing from Ao'ite. "Thank you, Great Mother! You're too good for us, Ma Eywa." He thought
Neteyam walked to get close to his parents that were in front of Ao'ite
"Excuse me, Ma Ao'ite. When can I see (y/n)? I would love to go see her. I actually need to. I'm the father. It's my responsibility." the Omatikaya boy said, hoping he still sounded respectful towards his mother-in-law but it was hard to still think about formalities when he was dying to see his pregnant mate. Damn. (y/n) was carrying his baby, he thought. He didn't even know what to feel, it was euphoria mixed with nervousness and excitement.
"Calm down, my son. You will see her soon. We just need to talk a bit more about it all with Ao'ite and she will take you to her home" Jake said as Neytiri looked at him
"Actually, you can go without me, kid." Said the mature na'vi woman
"Are you sure?" Neteyam asked, heart racing inside his ribcage
"Yes. You know well how to get there. If it's okay with the Olo'eyktan and the Tsahìk" She looked at Jake and Neytiri "I would like you to take care of your mate from now on. To be always there for her. I know you will do it, it's our culture, but she is human. You know she needs you more than a na'vi girl would. She has a weak body..." Ao'ite looked sad and worried, eyes gazing into nothingness for a second
"Our son is reliable, I can promise you that, with Eywa as my witness. He will help (y/n) with anything she needs. He will build a house for themselves and sleep by her side every night so he can have more time with her in the morning too, before training, to help with the morning sickness. I'm sorry he can't have more time with her but I know you understand the importance of training to become the next clan leader." The Olo'eyktan said
"Of course." Ao'ite said "Thank you for your support." She smiled
"We're only doing the bare minimum, Ao'ite." Neytiri said "Any good type of living being is sacred to Eywa and this baby has na'vi blood too, so, it makes this life even more important." Neytiri said "And we love your daughter as if she was ours." the Tsahìk smiled
Kiri was entering the house carrying flowers in her hands when she said
"What baby?"
"(y/n) is carrying Neteyam's baby. It's a long story." Neytiri said, looking at her daughter
"What?!" Kiri dropped the flowers on the floor "H-how did this happen? She never even told me she liked him or anything! What's going on?" The poor girl was shook to her bones
"Not now, babygirl. Can you leave us for a moment, please?" Jake asked of Kiri
She opened her mouth but gave up on talking, rolled her eyes and left her parents' home.
"I'm sorry but I'm leaving now." Neteyam said
Jake looked at him "It's okay, son. (y/n) must be in a hurry to talk to you as much as you are to talk to her. Go."
"Thank you, dad." The na'vi young male walked out the door as fast as he could without running but when he got some good meters away from his home he did start to run. He was desperate to see his mate. What if she needed him right now to help her with some pregnancy symptom? He knew this pregnancy would be a risky one. It made his heart hurt but he was still so happy she was expecting his child.
There were way too many contradictory feelings swimming inside his body at that moment.
When he finally got to his destination, he saw you lying down in your mat. You were sleeping, tiredness in your pretty face. He smiled and walked slowly to get close to his mate, trying to not make noise that could startle you and wake you up.
When he was close enough to you, Neteyam sat on the floor and gave a chaste kiss to your forehead.
You moved lazily and slowly opened your eyes. The first thing you saw was Neteyam's face, his blue skin calling your attention as it was just so enchanting to look at.
"Teyam." You smiled with eyes still slightly closed
"Hey, beautiful." The Omatikaya was smiling at you, his eyes sparkling "How is our baby?" Tears filled his big amber eyes
You felt your heart start to beat as fast as ilus could swim.
"Our baby is alright. I can't say the same about myself thought" you laughed a bit "I never felt more tired in my life."
Neteyam was worried but tried to conceal it and only give off a positive vibe to you. He wanted to be your rock through this special time of your lives.
"What about if I lay behind you and we cuddle? Would it make my girl feel better?" He asked with affection, smiling, showing no teeth
"Yes!" You said happily
Neteyam quickly lifted the sheets that were covering you and laid behind your body. He tuck you in (he knew humans were so much more sensitive to wind and lower temperatures than the na'vi) and held you. If he wanted to protect you from any harm before, that need was even bigger now that you were carrying his child inside your womb. He fought his instincts to not let that thought give him a boner. Now was not the time. You needed to rest and he was at Ao'ite's house, for Eywa's sake.
Neteyam kissed your cheek and cooed "You don't know how happy I am, my yawne."
"You are, Teyam?"
"Of course, my sweetheart. Did you forget what I told you in the forest? I've always wanted to get you pregnant. I'm a freaking pervert." He laughed, making you roll your eyes "But for real, it's not just about you being pregnant with my child turning me on. You were born to be a mother. Tuk loves you. All babies I ever saw you take care of would fall asleep so fast in your arms. I'm honoured to be the father of your baby."
Hearing Neteyam call himself the father of your baby made you feel a knot in the lowest part of your stomach. You still couldn't believe you were going to grow big with his child inside of you. That was so... so hot.
"I love you so much, my baby. You're only mine. Say you're mine, please." Neteyam spoke next to your ear
"I'm only yours, my yawnetu."
"Yes, you are, my princess. You are my mate and you're carrying my baby in your womb. Does that make you feel good?" The big Omatikaya boy held you tighter, his fingers rubbing your still small belly. He couldn't control himself. If he couldn't have sex with you at that moment, he had to at least tease you a bit. It was too much.
"You know it does." You said, out of breath
Neteyam touched your arm and gently moved you so you could face him. He looked deep into your eyes and went for a kiss. His sweet warm lips touched yours, making you feel your body strength slowly go away. He made you feel like surrendering completely to him. Neteyam kept his lips glued to yours for a while, his saliva wetting your mouth. After a few seconds, you both heard a lip smacking sound as his mouth parted from yours. He cupped your face with his hand, looking you in the eyes and then gave you one last kiss before hugging you from behind again.
"I will take care of you, my mate. I won't let anything happen to you or our little baby. I know Eywa will take care of the both of you too. Bless us, Ma Eywa." He finished the sentence with a prayer
"I love you, my Teyam." You breathed
"I love you forever." Neteyam spoke and then kissed your cheek three times "Now go back to sleep, my baby. You need to rest. I'm here. I'm done with my training for today. I can be with you until the eclipse. I wish I could sleep by your side today but I can't. But I promise I will start building our home tomorrow. I'll ask Lo'ak to help me. I know he won't say "no". That way we can have our home faster and I can sleep with you and our baby every night, okay?"
"Okay. Thank you for being... for being you. You're gonna be the best father. You already take care of Lo'ak, Tuk and Kiri so well." You chuckled and closed your eyes, leaning into his embrace
Neteyam laughed a bit, rolling his eyes. He was immensely happy, even if he was still scared for your health and the baby's health. But he knew one thing. He would live and die for that child. And he hadn't even met the little being yet. He couldn't wait to meet his son or daughter, though.

Note
first of all, the fandom isn't yours to control???
second of all, based on your interpretation of the situation i don't think you read the interaction at all... so you really shouldn't be passing judgment on how you think we acted.
the person didn't demand the trailer at all, she expressed a genuine concern that a large majority of the fandom has with the lack of content we have received, and let me be clear that it's been stated many times that if they are worried about spoilers we would be happy, grateful even, for older content such as bts.
kim made a thread trying to explain how things were and her side of what she sees going on and many of us were thankful she took the time to try to explain it to us. jessica inserted herself into a conversation she had no stock in, a conversation that was previously civil mind you, and mocked the girl for stating her concern. she didn't call anyone out. she blatantly mocked the girl, who is a minor, and was outright rude to many other people in her responses. this wasn't the first time she's been publicly rude and dismissive of fans either. you say we are responsible for our behaviour towards other, mainly cast and crew, because of humanity and the fact that they are human beings, well so are fans. it's about equal respect and the way jess acted was as if we are beneath her and that's not okay.
i can understand her being tired of watching her coworkers be bombarded, stan twitter can be overwhelming at times so i understand her frustration. our problem is not that she's frustrated because frankly we are too, our problem is with the way she handled it. i can think of at least 3 other alternative ways she could have handled it. she could have easily checked up on kim in private, or vented to her husband and other coworkers in private, or better yet set an example but she didn't, therefor that soapbox she's standing on talking about respecting people is null.
calling us entitled is a gross exaggeration. the fandom has put a lot of time and effort into this show just like the cast and crew and we do it without the incentive of being paid. we recognise the hard work that goes into writing, filming, and editing the show and we show our appreciation with all the fic we write, the videos we edit, and theories and meta posts we create because we love this show! it's not wrong to want the same in return.
the fact of the matter is that the show cannot exist without fans, i'm not saying that like we deserve all these things like a poster or trailer or whatever. we're simply asking the cast/crew to promote the show and show that they actually care, i'm also pretty sure promoting the show is part of their job and if it is then we are asking them to do the bare minimum. we literally arent even asking for anything new, we'd be happy with whatever gets shared even if it's bts from s2. its not crazy or wrong to want something you love to be successful and one way to make it successful is to tell people about it and get them excited and that's done through promotion.
a lot of us interact with a prop guy from season 7 and i can honestly say our interactions with him are not about spoilers because we care about him and releasing spoilers would get him in trouble, all he does is talk with us (about his plants and other random stuff) and tells us how excited he is about the season and not once have i seen anyone be rude to him and i've been on every one of his lives. so you're theory that we don't care about the people behind the art is really misguided. we care about the show and the people apart of it and we just want to know that they care and are excited in the same way that we are.
i won't deny that there are fans out there that behave inappropriately and take things to far, there is plenty of evidence of that fact. but it's not right of you to pass judgment on the fandom as a whole when you aren't fully emerged in it. you sit on tumblr and write spec... your not on twitter or instagram interacting with all of the amazingly kind and talented creators in this fandom. so you don't get to pass judgment on them and call them entitled.
Omg can you die of secondhand embarrassment?Fans were conversing w/ Kim, bugging her for the trailer as usual and actress Jessica Harmon commented, calling fans out on their entitlement, for always wanting MORE, forgetting that ppl on the show were affected by the pandemic too. She was tired of having her coworkers attacked non-stop and I don’t blame her. The way the cast must see fans! I’m glad I’m the outskirts of fandom, not involved. But it’s still embarrassing to see them act so cringe. 😬
I did my best trying to create a fandom where people were kind to others and used their logic and didn’t think they were entitled to the labor and output of the cast and crew.
It did not work.
People WANT to act like two year olds.
I guess doing it in fan spaces offers a sort of freedom outside of their daily lives. Like they can just be bratty and demand their treats and scream when they don’t get their way.
And they transfer that fan behavior, which fine, that’s okay, complain and wish for what you want and play barbies with the characters so it turns out how you want, but do it in FAN SPACES. But instead, they do it in public spaces and aim it at the cast and crew.
Who are real life people doing their best to make the show to the best of their ability and don’t have all the power that we think they do.
I see the perspective of fandom, and how we get wrapped up in the canon and fanon and how we engage with the material and it becomes real to us. I’m an ex high school teacher, I’m used to people engaging with the material. I taught creative writing too, and I COMPLETELY support people making up their own stories and telling them their way. But I’m also an artist and writer in my own right and have known SO MANY actors. And there is NO WAY I can’t look at the cast and crew as human beings who are creating art for the audience. And from that perspective I am HORRIFIED by the entitlement that fandom shows.
From gatekeeping others, and not allowing them their own interpretations to stalking actors and cyber bullying them, to demanding the ending/the ship/the bts photos/the trailer that they want, to those AWFUL comments on everything that JR posts.
We are responsible for our behavior towards other people... even if those other people are invisible online, or are “fake people” like actors or showrunners.
That doesn’t sound right, does it? People aren’t invisible or fake. But fandom CONTINUES to ignore the humanity of everyone who is NOT on their fankru, and treat the creators as if they are servants to their fan needs.
It disappoints me.
