Still so glad that Nickelodeon finally severed ties with Dan Schneider back in 2018, due to misconduct allegations.
The weird fucker used to put pictures of his actress' feet (all of whom were underage at the time) on his Twitter profile, was accused of gender discrimination and verbally abusing his colleagues, and asked for massages from the adult female ones.
Jennette McCurdy famously turned down a $300k "hush money" offer from Nickelodeon to not discuss her time spent at the network, and it's known among fans that her mom forced her into acting and that she was deeply unhappy being in the role of Sam in iCarly in the first place.

Earth fairies and earth in general
After rewatching winx club, (specially seasons 4 & 5) I just have to say. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED WITH EARTH!?? Like you dedicate a whole season to bringing back magic to a place so different that didn't have it since like centuries and then we don't see what happened after??
Some points to take into account....
• The government
How did all the governments took the news that "oh, fairies are real, there are different dimensions, magic is real!" I'm pretty sure there would be chaos on earth. What about the new magic people being born or people getting magic?? Earth doesn't have the structure and technology to maintain a magic society, there would be havoc, with kids or adults accidentally using magic and destroying stuff or people using magic for their own gain. You know powerful people would want fairies and magi. There could be actual fairy traffickers like in the comics.
• The infrastructure and technology
Compared to the magix dimension, earth is so far behind... they are not ready to suddenly house magical beings running around freely with their magic. I mean, they could shoot them if someone gets crazy and attacks people. But they don't have prisons or specific gear to fight off magic. And the infrastructure.... magic beings would definitely affect buildings, some may be stronger to resist earthquakes or storms, but some fairies could pull a diana o Aurora and start doing crazy things.
The only people prepared to deal with this are the fairies of Tir Nan Og, but they would be too busy rebuilding their own society that they can't handle all the world pressure just like that, not to mention that, they also are far behind in technological advances.
• Schools
Where would the new fairies go?? I mean yeah, in season 6 nebula made the castle a school but like... How did she even get all those new girls to go there? Do the fairies of Tir Nan Og just go looking for new earth fairies and go like "You have magic come to this school!" I'm not sure all parents would be ok by sending their daughters to some random school. It might be the best but also it's just so new... Not to mention that there's definitely very religious people that would treat horribly their child if they saw magic. Not to mention that the government would want to have a close eye in this school, after all "What if they do something to these girls?" Aurora and Diana already attacked humans before, they may have reverted their spells, but I'm sure they didn't leave a good first impression.
Let's also take into account that there's no way that the castle could hold all of earth's magic population, schools should be built around the world. Maybe there aren't many magic beings right now, but there sure will be jn the future. And it's better to be prepared than sorry.
In a good timeline, the governments of the world and the fairies could try to come to an agreement to secure the magic beings in there so they can learn their magic in order to not cause havoc. But I just know stuff isn't going to be so good in the real world...
• The other realms????
After season 4, we don't see any of the winx or anyone mention how is earth doing. Like what happened? Are humans and fairies just coexisting peacefully? Are they having conflict?? Tell us!! It's as if that plot didn't exist and it's probably due to the Nickelodeon takeover....
The girls could have at least said something like "oh yeah the council has sent a lot of help and resources in order to help earth re-adapt to magic" at least a small hint or something.
Did anyone ever even helped earth? Or they were just like "Welp you're on your own bye!" Roxy could have a place as maybe being an earth mediator or something, she's the princess of earth fairies after all. Maybe a sub-plot of season 5 could have been showing the fairies coming back to earth? Giving roxy and her whole people more time to shine.
• The end
In the end... I feel more could have been done with the whole earth and Roxy topic but sadly they did nothing with it.
Hope you liked this, this is probably my first post of many more talking about earth and winx club, so stat tuned for more stuff. ^^
(P.S. Sorry if something seems messy or badly written :()

Do you plan on watching wizards beyond waverly place?
no plans at the moment but ill check it out if OG fans watch and think it's good!
since disney has been going the route of making sequels that are very much kids shows (like GMW, raven's home) as opposed to the nickelodeon approach of making a show for the aged up audience (icarly), i'm not really drawn to them. the lizzie reboot that got cancelled was actually supposed to me more in that aged up, adult problems vein, but creative differences got it pulled, so i think disney really only feels comfortable putting their cherished properties within the confines of children's television.
i'm sure the new wizards will be a good TV show for the new generation, but i think live action children's tv can be very hard to swallow without a nostalgia lens (as in, i could rewatch all of wizards today and love it, but probably will have a hard time with the new one)
but yeah if people say it's out of this world, ill check it out!

This is also really interesting to me
But yes house of Anubis is a remake of the Dutch show it was made by Nickelodeon in 2011, the show was... I wanna say medium popular in the UK I know it aired in the US as well but I can't speak for the US.
Because in the Netherlands het huis anubis was THE show to watch. Every week an episode came out almost every kid in my class would watch it and it would be all everyone was talking about the next day. And we all went to the cinema to watch the movies together. It was so extremely popular here that they even where apart of a sing along last year with the music they put out for the show when it originally aired and so many people came to the sing along specifically for them. Literally everyone I know knows this show, I’d say it’s a part of Dutch culture at this point
I remember I really loved the UK one but it wasn't like HUGE, it was popular in the circles that new about it but that was kinda it, I remember coming home from school the day of the S2 finale and running off my bus into the front door and just like jumping on the sofa in my school uniform to turn the tv over in time and my mum let me have chicken nuggets for dinner and some snacks to watch it with.
I'm surpoised honestly that it still has anyone know about it, but I'm rewatching it now and its really funny as an adult to rewatch shows and movies I used to love cause I see so much of the things that I like... morphed as part of my personality from these things,
But I will be watching the dutch version as soon as I am done with the uK rewatch

Since we've done Nickelodeon's Nicktoons, I thought it'd be nice to talk about their live action originals since they're just as important to Nickelodeon's legacy too. The first batch is hard since most of their pre-1989 originals were either anthology shows with no recurring characters (outside the occasional host), are lost aside from one episode of footage at best (ex. By the Way, Nickel Flicks, and Hocus Focus), or game shows and talk shows with only a host as the recurring character. So gonna skip a lot of pre-1989 stuff. Favorite character from some of the following Nick live action originals from 1979-91: Pinwheel (some episodes are on Youtube and the show that started Nickelodeon in the first place), You Can't Do That On Television (the show that began the Nick slime and helped with Nickelodeon retooling in 1984), Out of Control, Hey Dude, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Fifteen, Welcome Freshman, Salute Your Shorts, and Clarissa Explains It All?
That's fair as i probably haven't seen any of it. I also haven't seen pinwheel, out of control, fifteen, or welcome freshman. But i'm fine with doing this just be warned there will be some eras I have nothing for
You Can't Do That on Television: i've seen this maybe once. it was alright.
Hey Dude: It's a little wild and a little strange, when your living here out on the range. Danny is my faviorite iwth his laidback attitude and nice hats. The show itself.. is okay. It has a great premise, a bunch of teens working on a dude ranch... but it's held back by slow pacing.
The Adventures of Pete and Pete: ARTIE THE STRONGEST MAN... IN THE WORLD! Thoguh Big Pete's a very close second. Okay now THIS is more like it and one of my faviorite nick shows period, one i'm dying to talk about in full at some point. For now Adventures of Pete and Pete is a show I found in college via youtube and dvds and deseves a streaming release. And a proper complete box set. It's a fun show that really captures what it's like to be a kid, with it's exagerated deeply surreal world that's not cartoony but just off enough. Theya lso nicely pair stories; Big Pete's teen stories are usually more grounded: a bigger deal than they would be for an adult, but as big as a teen would see them, while LIttle Pete's are the big bombastic wars you'd expect from a small child railing against the world. The result is pure bilss and well worth your time. Funny, all too real and all it's own, this show is one of Nick's first and finest.
Salute Your Shorts: I saw this one more on teen nick's splat block back when I had cable but I like it. Like Hey Dude it's a tad slow but unlike hey dude has a bit more bombastic characters to make up for it. You have Ug Lee, the counsler, but tmonkey and over the top villian and Danny Cooksey as secondary antagonist yet also sometimes main character Budnick. Add in Donkey Lips and Sponge for color and you've gort a great cast. The Female Cast did feel a bit lacking in comparison, but still felt more fleshed out than hey dude. THe result is a pretty dang fun show with great comedic timing.
Clarissa Explains It All: nananananananana. Alright alright. Ferguson. Was true as a kid, was true rewatching it as an adult: The little shithead is just so delightful egotistical and his plots are a great highlight. The show itself is fantastic, a young melissa joan hart being great and Pushing Up Roses has a greaet video on the shows history. The nicely used fantasy and computer stuff to break up the action and contrasted Clarissa's typical but fun problems with Fergusons zaany schemes and rampant ego perfectly. The result is a fun show that's both creative yet down to earth and relatable.

Yeah, but it began like 9 years ago, which in cartoon years is a fair enough amount of time. :P
I remember actually seeing the premiere of SpongeBob as a kid, like, I remember the hyped up countdown commercials and advertisements and the big fanfare for prepping for what would begin a new era of Nicktoons. It aired a little more than a month before my birthday, so I was still 8. XD
But to be fair, the aforementioned programming is aimed at older audiences well enough to be passable as adult media. In fact, in the case of Samurai Jack, the original four seasons, while originally rated as TV-Y7 FV, is pretty much considered far more mature than that now that S&P has adjusted as deemed the imagery and content matter of the original run more fitting of a TV-PG and above. And I honestly don't disagree: Samurai Jack is a good series that's visually pleasing, but the original series also has some moments where after a recent rewatch, I caught what I missed as a kid.
That said, it's good that the nighttime shift of programming is padded with the timeless classics that can still be passable in front of the youths, as I'd be lying if I told you that I never stayed up past bedtime to watch adult cartoons as a kid and teen... Back when Adult Swim started at 10pm.
By them prefacing the block shift with older programming that can be enjoyed by a wider demographic, they ease the channel into a better transition for the kids who may stay up later but thier parents rightfully want to keep them away from Family Guy.
In the case of Adult Swim, I think a good transition from CN starting with Samurai Jack or Adventure Time is a good choice. It maintains the appropriate content level for the youngsters sticking around, but is still timeless and entertaining for us young adults.
Adult Swim should really see if they can get the rights to play other good CN shows as the transition to the lineup, like maybe bring out some classic Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Foster's, Courage the Cowardly Dog, or maybe even KND, or Billy and Mandy. The stuff that's still good for the kids, but great on a re-watch as they age. Heck, I would pay good money to see Megas XLR again. Maybe bring out the original Teen Titans, or dip into the DCAU. They'd fit right in on the early watershed hours.
As for Nickelodeon, golden era Spongebob is perfect for this block shift. It's been so long running that it's been split into these eras, and they're honestly good enough with thier humor to be considered high brow at times. And the movies are good too, both of which I've seen run in Nick @ Nite.
I'm not sure what else Nick could tap into for this same effect, since they've pretty much disowned Ren & Stimpy (for good reason), and Rugrats is already dominating TeenNick. Doug was bought by Disney, and the Nick era Doug also resides on TeenNick, alongside Hey Arnold.
They COULD probably get some milage with Angry Beavers, Invader Zim and Avatar on Nick @ Nite, but that's just my opinion. :P
The point I'm going for is:
I've been alive for almost three decades and I know too much about cartoons and network hierarchy.
Nick @ Nite runs golden era SpongeBob now, and Adult Swim now runs classic Samurai Jack and Adventure Time
On one hand, this is kinda awesome that these are considered good classic programming.
On the other hand, I feel like I just aged rapid upon realizing these are now considered “retro”

I found out from the fic you posted that there’s an English remake of het huis anubis!? I had no idea that the Dutch show me and all the other kids in the Netherlands and Belgium watched was so successful that they made other versions of it in other countries
I looked up your version of the show and I saw you only got 191? The original Dutch version has 404 episodes and the spin-off series has another 173 episodes excluding crossovers
We also had 3 movies, 7 books, several music albums, a spin-off series, 3 or 4 theatre shows/musicals, several board games, a nintendo ds game and 1 amusement park ride in the Netherlands and Belgium, did they remake any of those into English too?
Could you please tell me where I can watch the English version? I’m really curious to see how it is compared to the original. I’m honestly really excited about this because the character in your fic Jerome reminds me so much of his Dutch counterpart Jeroen, who I had a massive crush on, so it’s really cool to be able to read a fic about him or a version of him
I think I have a link where you can watch the original show, the movies and the spin-off series for free with English subtitles, if you want to watch more of the show I can send it to you?
AHhhh! Hello! Yes Hi!
I got really excited when I saw this!
But yes house of Anubis is a remake of the Dutch show it was made by Nickelodeon in 2011, the show was... I wanna say medium popular in the UK I know it aired in the US as well but I can't speak for the US.
At least for me this show was a huge part of my childhood It came out in 2011 which fun fact I was 12 then and I was a NERD, for history especially I was a big history nerd and this is basically was tripped me into my second egyptology focus but yeah It came for me at kinda just the right time, in just the right way and I have fond memories of sitting down after school to watch this show.
It got I think 3 seasons and then a movie here, but we got nothing like the massive stuff you listed there we got nothing like that, we barely even got any merch or anything of it, I am very jealous.
The funny thing was I never had a thing for Jerome when I first watched it I remember kinda thinking he was a bit of a dick not revisiting it as an adult its like... bring me my cocky little fluffy chaos boy!
And I've been wanting to do more characters for a while now and I was already doing Lancel stuff lately cause I kinda just stumbled on the memory of him in my mind, and had like a heart attack when I learnt Lancel and Jerome are plaid by the same actor which sent me, of course, running to IMDB to see what else I can watch.
As for watching the English version, I said it is steaming on Paramount Plus, on YouTube Premium, Amazon Prime and Apple TV if that helps. I'm rewatching it with friends and we have the physical media so I'm not sure if there are any downloads or stuff online I'm sure there likely is if you go digging.
Ohh I'd love to see the original show and stuff thank you so much!
And thank you so much for talking with me about it! I was kinda worried no one would have a clue what this was.
