Hi! I wanted to ask you about your thoughts on chapter 294 of bllk and your current thoughts about Kaiser! I've seen very polarised opinions about it so I was wondering what yours was!

I hope this doesn't bother u because I've noticed that u haven't posted about bllk or Kaiser in a while, so feel free to ignore this if it's annoying u in any way^^'

hi, it's okay anon i'm flattered you think my opinion is worth hearing and thanks for not spoiling anything. the truth is i stopped following blue lock a while ago because i didn't enjoy the experience anymore and literally the only reason i read blue lock is for my own enjoyment, so i don't have any thoughts about ch.294. (based on my math the end of the volume i left things off at (start: ch.285) should have been at ch.293, so either the match ended there and ch.294 is an aftermath chapter or blue lock is revving up for the mythical 7 volume pxg match and kaiser was killed in a gas leak explosion) 

anyway without knowing anything my thoughts on kaiser is he's my guy of all time, i'm having a blast not reading blue lock but i miss him every day. hopefully blue lock can go on a one year hiatus after pxg match ends so it can sort itself out because sometime i want to meet kaiser again, not right now though because my enjoyment of blue lock these days comes from the experience of not reading blue lock

(note: it's also possible if pxg match did end that ch.291 or 292 was the goal chapter but realistically i think pxg match exists in an unholy purgatory and is cursed to keep going for at least three more years. i hope kiyora scores though)

bfj reading challenge 290

d-257 🩷 day 291 🪻finished chapter 8 of the mandarins (26 pages) and read 26 pages of chapter 9. i'm still wondering what the end result of this story will be. it's definitely a commentary, but i'm interested in reading what others have to say. thoughts while reading: i just don't really care about anne and her "love story" with lewis 😭 like lewis just isn't likeable!!! 🪻read chapter 7-10 of rinkmates. the writing is quite...eh so far. i wanted something more developed. didn't really care about the hockey team's antics or culture in ch 9. blegh!!!!

Black Clover 291 reaction and spoilers

I think Asta and Liebe’s devil union likely isn’t completely because of its unique nature. Since it’s an equal partnership rather than subjugation, they have to strengthen their bond as anyone would have to in any kind of relationship I would think.

Also a bit nervous what all can go down while we wait thirty minutes. Still curious if Luciferio will get to set food in the kingdoms or if some of the Magic Knights will have to travel to the devils’ world to defeat him there. Probably will come down to how willing Tabata is to kill off Vangeance and Yami. I don’t think we can get out of the Spade Arc without facing off against Luciferio directly in some way weather top side or down below at this point.

Hoping the anime does come back to finish this arc because I’m excited to see what they’d do to flesh out the fight between Dante and Jack a bit leading up to this exchange.

Magna: I’m taking you [Dante] down by myself!!

I am beyond here for this. I am super pumped. Kick his ass, Magna!

Good to know Magna and Zora saw Yami get kidnapped. I was curious how far away they were when it went down.

I love how the shaky lines convey so much in the close up of Magna so stressed out and barely restraining himself from immediately fighting a doomed fight that he bit through his lip enhances the emotion of the panel.

Dante: I have no intention of using any of my magic on garbage like you<. Attack all you like!! Once you're satisfied, get lost!!

Now all I can think about is that meme of that transcription of a 911 call about the stabbed person going “What are you going to do? Stab me?” before getting stabbed. Even more hyped for whatever is about to go down.

I see the chain and all I can think of is Bleach and it’s like is Magna going to rip Dante’s soul out of his body?

Magna apparently bound their magic together and then split it evenly. I love it. This is so fitting. I also love how it’s Dante’s own snobby hubris that’s going to take him out with Magna at the helm.

I know. I know. Golden Week, but still absolutely criminal we have to wait two weeks for this glorious beat down.

BnHA/MHA chapter 291 reaction and spoilers

So when I first saw Dabi I thought he was in his mid-20’s (not completely sure why). Then after some thought about the Dabi as Touya theory I amended the headcanon a bit, and when we found out Dabi’s birthday is January 18, I figured maybe he and Fuyumi were less than a year apart or maybe almost two years apart. Now we’ve got some more context. It’s possible that Dabi’s birthday of January 18 is in reference to how Touya died in the winter (but maybe we’ll get Touya’s birthday confirmed sometime soon-ish in a data book). It seems like my original estimate of Touya’s age might be correct since he seems to be about 2 – 3 when Fuyumi is a baby. So, Endeavor and Rei must have gotten married in their late teens and Toya is probably about 20 - 21 years younger than Endeavor like I originally thought, making him about 25 or 26 right now. 

Also, this kind of backs up something I’ve suspected for a while, that Fuyumi might remember when Endeavor did not act the way he did when everything went to hell. I think that’s why Fuyumi is more willing to work with Endeavor and accept his progress than Natuso is because before Natsuo and Shouto were born, Endeavor probably wasn’t at the stage of obsession and abuse he ended up at as things progressed. This of course, isn’t Natsuo or Shouto’s fault, it’s Endeavor’s inability to recognize and/or break free of his own toxic behavior.

I think it’s key that Touya’s body was not found and the bones found could be from any child that age. I am curious though if the fire started because of Touya or he just let it consume him.

I like how Compress and Dabi make the same hand over the face gesture.

The text says, “There is a 99.9% match between my DNA and a sample of Endeavor’s blood from the battle in Kyuushuu.” Small quibble, though I understand there’s no room for the word really in the bubble, but should probably clarify that it’s a paternity test match otherwise this makes it sound like Dabi is a clone of Endeavor. Since there’s no 父 in this section of the raw, it’s possible this is also unclarified in the original text as well.

Dabi turns his video monologue to Shouto with Shouto’s red hair covering his eyes in his panel. Below it we see Fuyumi receiving word from another teacher something’s up and Natsuo watching on his phone. We can see both of their faces. I know I’ve talked before about hoping that Natsuo has a support system, which he probably does. I also hope Fuyumi does too, but I know since she’s had so much responsibility shoved on her, it’s possible she does not.

Also as we watch more citizens witness this, the more I think Inko and Mitsuki must be watching too. They’re the only ones we don’t have confirmation for yet. Though we don’t definitively know the news is playing on the computer Yagi and Eri are in front of, though most likely it might be.

Oh good we get to watch Twice die from a strange angel this time :|

Honestly half expecting Jeanist to be that hero we saw en route via the air and my brain is a tie between that “bet you thought you saw the last of me” meme and “stop telling everyone I’m dead.”

I like how Shouto takes charge of the situation. I also like that it’s not about forgiving Endeavor, it’s just about keeping everyone alive. There’s a lot to process here, as Shouto points out, and they can’t do that if they’re all dead.

I also like that this is set up in such a way that it kind of underscores how Endeavor’s redemption is kind of a too little too late situation. After Touya’s death, whether Endeavor truly believed he died or not, Endeavor had a lot of choices to make and the ones he made were not good and did not learn from his mistakes. It’s good that he’s figuring that out now, but this helps show that he really should have figured this out even before Touya died rather than going all Captain Ahab..

Oh cool. Jeanist actually did show up in this chapter. I can’t wait for next week. This just keeps getting juicier and juicier.
