Elendil makes this genre of face whenever he's mildly perturbed. Peeved. Perplexed. His flabbers gasted

So there's a lot of discourse and negativity on the tag right now. I get it, last episode was wild. And I really understand if you didn't like aspects of it, whether they be meaningless or not. Am I mad about the kiss? No. But do I think it was unnecessary? Kinda, yeah. The kiss itself wasn't ambiguous imo but the triumphant music was a weird choice. I guess Galadriel's incredulous look was also mine lol. But was it baiting or catering to the lorebros? Nah. They're pissed about it lol.
Honestly, I don't really think the writers' train of thought went beyond 1) platonic, 2) practical, as in passing that pin, 3) Elrond and Galadriel had been fighting for the entire season, which was sad, so now we can put that behind us (which might or might not be important for the final episode).
That being said, the episode was really good so perhaps try to focus on that? Idk. There seems to be a lot of doom and gloom right now which is a real bummer.
What I'm trying to say is that we are all caught up in the vast sea of leaks - some real, a lot of them fake - and we all have our own ideas in our heads of how the finale is going to go. I think we're all nervous about that lol. I for one still hope that Galadriel will sacrifice herself and join Sauron on his way to Númenor. I'm not counting on it though. Truth is, it is very likely going to deviate from my vision or anyone's vision. And it's a challenge to let go of an idea that you have in your head and think is good and not seeing it executed. But that's why we have fanfiction. It kinda helps to see RoP as fanfiction for LotR (I know that this sometimes gets thrown around as an insult but I - a fanfiction enjoyer - don't mean this in a condescending way at all, just trying to make a point). This is the writers' view, you can enjoy it for what it is and what it gives birth to, and read the tons of fics that sprout forth from it to complement (or depart from) this view.
So yeah I'm rambling. Sorry about that. I just hope we can all be excited about the finale and accept it no matter how it turns out. Because very likely it will be good, even if it doesn't go the way you hoped it would.

Lol every time I see racism or terrible hate it comes from fucking anime fans 😂Every. Single. Time. I don't like saying an entire group of people are assholes maybe some anime fans are okay but every time I've seen hate for my fandoms (and that merthur ship poll is an example) the amine fans said the most atrocious things disgusting vile hate.
Waking up to find an asshole reblogging my top post with their hate as if I give one shit what they think lol I'm thriving I love what I love I could never be a bitter hateful bitch spending time hating shit and even if you wanna waste your life like that at least fucking tag it correctly. No one likes assholes who put their hate in the actual tags.
Hope every hater steps on Legos and has wet socks the rest of their lives. ROP has received the most brutal unfair and disgusting hate so bad some cast even deactivated their accounts so anyone hating is associated with the bullies. You cana hate the show but kindly fuck off and do it in your own space and leave the fans and cast in peace. You embody nothing of LOTR and your poison spreads. What an utter twat 😂

What did Ema’s Reddit interview say? I can’t find any of the questions. Do you have a link or can you do a mini recap? Thanks in advance!
Hey, here is the link for you! Ema's present for about the first 40% or so, I haven't listened past that yet. I will put part of the interview highlights under the cut (I really did not need much prompting to gush about it lol) since some of what she had to share about character backgrounds hasn't been revealed in the show yet so it could be considered spoilers.
First of all, I am more impressed by her with every interview I find, she's just incredibly dedicated to understanding Númenor and its history. She mentions lurking in the subreddit (she used the term "Elendilf" lmao) and having found that really useful while she was figuring out who Eärien really was. She also references a few characters from The Mariner's Wife (one of the Unfinished Tales) and how they informed her understanding of her own character in ROP which I thought was genius (Erendis and Ancalimë make SO much sense in terms of thematic overlap with Eärien, imo). She really did a deep dive into the lore, and she definitely did her homework and then some in terms of the languages.
There's a lot of other great stuff there about other characters and cast members but the part that I was referencing in the tags of this gifset is that in show, the mother of Eärien, Anárion and Isildur died rescuing Isildur from drowning, which is obviously completely devastating and I'm not crying you're crying!!! It makes SO much sense as to why Elendil is having a crisis of faith as well as trouble connecting with Isildur in particular. It really casts a whole new light on Isildur's relationship with his father's expectations, and the rest of his family. This next part is not confirmed but my speculation is that after their mother's death, Anárion left the rest of the family to be with his grandfather Amandil in the west of the island, and we will see the two of them introduced next season along with more of the Faithful--I could be wrong, but either way his mother's death seems to have strengthened Anárion's relationship to his previously held beliefs, contrasted to the way the rest of the family has (understandably) reacted.
In short: Ema Horvath is amazing and I cannot believe what a perfectly angsty storyline I am getting for Isildur. I'm so interested to see where Elendil and Isildur's relationship in particular will go from here (we can generally presume where it will go, but not exactly how!). Maxim Baldry in his Reddit Talk also had some amazing insights, and clearly knows his stuff like Ema does. I cannot get over this cast, they care so much about authenticity to the source material and anyone who claims otherwise could not be more wrong.

Hey man, would you be ok putting some sort of custom tag of your choice on these RoP anon posts from now on so they can be blacklisted, if it's not a bother? I wouldn't mind seeing more of your thoughts on the show as more eps come out or even your own posts on the same discussions you've been having, but tbh the anons in particular you're getting on the topic are just getting really redundant at this point (even the ones agreeing with you, but the asshats especially very obviously have nothing new to add). No worries if not, it'd just gotten to be high enough volume to be hard to scroll past and I'm kind of over the asinine White Whinging lol.
The answer is both yes and no- if I think of a tag that won't land it in the fandom tags (bc I firmly believe stupid fandom wank should be kept out of tags where people are just trying to enjoy the show) and if I can remember it then sure. But there's stuff in my queue that's not tagged and I don't feel like scrolling through it to edit one by one so......
