i am 42 years old & enhypen is my most listened group for the second year in a row. i do agree that hybe makes bland, super generic music but i vibe with it somehow.

i remain an SM stan at heart, i am just tired of the constant messiness & heartbreak. they have too many artists, their ability to schedule anything keeps getting worse & every release feels rushed & cheap.

i'm not denying that they have some good music, i have a few of their bsides saved, and it just depends on personal taste whether or not you like to listen to generic pop. the thing about hybe's blandness is that it does attract people, just by the basis of not being overtly sonically offensive in some way. it's a strategy that works.

i would disagree with you about all their releases being rushed and cheap however. there have been a few that have had less care put into them than i would have expected, but there's been a LOT of releases, especially from senior artists, that have had very high production value. changmin has said that he was working on devil for almost a year, and he got two full mvs, suho was sitting on grey suit for quite a while and also got two full mvs. invu, gasoline, and dice all had very high production value, as well as all three red velvet cbs. chen's last scene mv has park hae soo in it, minho's trailers have been excellent and we know that it's a full cinematic mv, which is unusual for an sm mv. have some of the nct releases been confusing and poorly timed? absolutely, but it's a stretch to say that everything the company has put out this year has been lower quality.
