Sakura - quality time

He's anxious at the idea of touching you to be honest, he needs time for this but wants to in the end. Yet it's too much for him, so instead he wants to spend time with you. At your place or his, when he's walking around the street. He doesn't even try to touch your hand or anything but he's on alert all the time because he would hate himself if something happens to you.

He shares the things he gets from the citizens with you, so he can spend more time with you and you always look so happy when he brings you those small pieces of bread.

Suo - act of service + physical touch

He can tease the shit out of you, he will always do it while carrying your bag or opening the door for you. He wants you to rely on him, to trust him and if you need anything, to just ask him. He will get it for you. You're scared to come home alone ? He'd gladly walk you home. You need to clear your mind or want to see him when he's already busy ? He's not anymore, and he's going wherever you like with you.

He's subtle about touching you, but he's constantly doing it. It can be fixing your hair with a kind smile when it doesn't really need to be fixed. It's guiding you with his hand on your back or letting his fingers linger on the back of your hand and your arm. He sometimes lets his fingers smooth the side of your thighs if you're sitting next to each other. He just really likes it when nobody can really tell. Unless it's Sakura, then he's all on display, hugging you, touching your cheeks and kissing it.

Kaji - gifts giving + word of affirmation

By gifts, I think he wants to give you things like food or candy and eat with you. He feels better when he sees you smile and accept it gladly. Even more if you're not really into sweets. He makes you a playlist out of the blue, with songs you two might like or even listening to your fav artist even if he doesn't like them to make a playlist with the songs he likes so you know.

He tells you things that seem like nothing serious but you know it means a lot for him. He lets you know that he trusts you, that he feels better and calmer around you or whenever he appreciates something that you do. It gets you all the time, making you blush

Kyotaru - quality time + act of service

He's not big for words, instead he wants to do things with you and for you. He kinda follows you around. When you ask if he wants to do something with you, he always nods and carries your bag or what you brought for you. He likes to come shopping with you, so he can nod when he finds something pretty on you.

He also really likes it when you come around and do things with him ! Including gardening, sadly if you don't really like it. But you know it makes him really happy.

Umemiya - word of affirmation + physical touch

He tells you that he loves you or how good you look all the time. He notices every change and compliments you all the time. He lets you know what he likes the most about you, physically or with your personality. It can go from how you styled your hair to you bringing him snacks during the day ‘cause he forgets to eat sometimes.

He’s a very cuddly guy. He always wants to welcome you with a hug or a kiss - mostly both - and same for goodbyes ! Don’t you dare go without kissing him and squishing his hand in yours. He’ll get sulky. You get shy sometimes at the fact that he spends his time with his arms around your shoulders but at the same time that makes you both feel safe that you can’t blame him. 

Togame - physical touch

He’s on you all the time. He likes to have you close so it's easier to check on you and make sure that everything is alright. He can lay his arm around your shoulders, pulling you to him and nuzzle his nose into your neck or cheek. He loves the fact that it makes you blush all the time. He lays his head on yours or your shoulders too, and closes his eyes. He likes to take naps on you as well ! On your thighs particularly. 

Kiryuu - quality time + physical touch 

He really likes to do his own things with you next to him, but literally. He wants to feel your thighs against his. Or you laying on him/his laps while being on your phone or reading and vice versa. It's his favorite place to play video games. It works too if you just want to cuddle and let him play, so that's perfect. He's always holding your hand outside, no questions. He puts it in his pocket if he feels that your hand gets cold.

I'm finally dipping my toes into the world of Character x Reader writing. This is my first time writing in second person/x reader format, so please go easy on me or I'll cry. I'm posting this before I stare at it for too long and change my mind.

Part 2

“Daryl? Why are you looking at me like that?”

Cocking an eyebrow, you looked past your shoulder at him, your new boyfriend’s eyes quickly averting once he realized he’d been caught.

With winter setting in and temperatures beginning to drop in Virginia, the two of you had been sent on a run to a nearby department store, your goal to find coats, boots, blankets, and whatever sort of winter necessities you could get your hands on. Amongst all the cold-weather attire, you’d found a little something hot for yourself.

“Dunno what ya talkin’ ‘bout,” he mumbled, his normal sun-kissed complexion becoming one akin to a fresh tomato.

Your gaze dropped to the material in your hands, your fingers dancing over the satin cups, and a small smirk crossed your lips. You were holding a set of Christmas lingerie—a babydoll style two-piece. The red cups and mesh of the flyaway bodice were bordered with a fluffy white trim that trailed down the center with a red thong to accompany it.

“Ah, I see,” you teased, your cheeks beginning to heat up as you held up the garment, “this why?”

You’d only been together for a few weeks, the farthest you’d gone in terms of anything physically being a heated make-out session with little hand exploration. You’d been itching for things to move further but not wanting to push any boundaries. Daryl was clearly skittish and uncomfortable in the realm of sex and romance. However, unbeknownst to you, he’d been itching for the same.

He pictured the mesh flowing around your hips as you twirled before him and the thong sliding over your thighs and falling to your ankles. His signature small smile appeared as he pictured your eyes glossed over with lust and thought about what every inch of your soft skin felt like in his work-worn hands. He was reveling in this sweet little daydream, and you’d caught him in it.

“It’s ok, Daryl. I’m flattered.” As you walked back to him, you purposely swayed your hips a little extra, drawing the archer’s eyes to them for just a moment. Yours fell to your feet, that sweet heat returning to your cheeks again.

“Flattered?” He sounded surprised by your choice of words, like you couldn’t possibly be flattered by his longing gaze and the lewd thoughts you knew he was having. Despite having finally made your relationship official after months of going in circles, he was confused by sparkle in your eye he’d caught a glimpse of when you first looked back at him.

“Yeah. I mean, I’ve been…thinking about it too,” you assured, lashes fluttering as you brought your gaze up from the floor to meet his ocean eyes, “hinting at it for a while now. Hasn’t it been kind of obvious?”

The silence from him was loud, deafening as it practically echoing off the white walls. That alone was an answer enough for you.

A sweet giggle emanated from the depths of your chest, the sound like music to your man’s ears. “Okay, maybe not so obvious. I adore you, but you can be incredibly dense sometimes.”

“Grab the coats,” Daryl instructed, clearly flustered as he haphazardly gestured to a box on a nearby table. He was beginning to turn red again, somehow an even darker shade than he had before. He grabbed a box from off the floor and was quickly heading toward the front door. “Talk when we get back.”

“Talk…right…” you mused, a chuckle slipping past your lips as you stowed the lingerie away in your bag, “I’m sure that’s exactly what we’ll do.”

how do you come up with such creative names and designs? once ive made over 200 ocs its hard to try and find names for new ones that dont seem repetitive or overlap too much with canon names ... love ur art sm you truly inspire me ! you are kinda the reason ive got all my little feral cat ocs !! thank u for sharing ur art and ideas !

wow!!! thank you!!! i'm so glad you have so many funny guys!!! for names, i try to create names that 1) sound funny (eggfluff, fishweed, firfur, spikypike, etc) 2) have a prefix and suffix that either rhyme or sound similar (... firfur, spikypike, calamusmoon, skinkslither, squirrelslug, tangerinetwig) or 3) use words that you wouldn't see in canon/are really unusual! (virevalley, coyotegame, sphagnumstar, boreweb, martenwink, doverstick, bellweather, stellarsspeckling, basiliskhaze, lindwormstar, etc!). truthfully it's just about coming up with weird words! i also love to reference warrior cats name generators (here's mine). i try to avoid words overused in canon, -stripe, -heart, -claw, -tail unless the prefix is something really cool. a rule i tend to abide by is if i have a really cool/really long prefix or suffix, the other half of the name needs to be really simple! (lambsearleaf, ponderinglight, shepherdbelly, tangerinetwig). however at the same time, i do break this rule, mostly if i'm using one of the three points i mentioned above (chimingchaffinch, steppingsquirrel, etc). try to think of really weird words! i like using words which end in -ing or -ed or even a plural s! (stellarSspeckling, martyrSomen). lately i've also enjoyed translating cat's names into other languages! (aimaorasi, korakifovia, heidelandkit, kasanagon'silo, langitlap-ok). for designs, a lot of it is just... designing nonstop for ~~~4 years.... you get good at it eventually.... well there are some pieces of advice i can give! 1) trying your goddamn hardest to avoid same face syndrome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! giving your characters different faces is a really good tactic to making them look cool, especially if you give them really unique features! (differently shaped nose leather, nose ridges, chins, head shape, ear shape, weird shaped eyes, funny eyebrows, etc). something else that i make note of is you should also try to avoid giving your characters the same Body and Anatomy! make some really wide & fat or thin with long noses and tails. short legs with a long body, a completely unnatural and un-cat-like build! even if it isn't "realistic", making your cats look weird will make their designs even better! 2) this is something i'm very specific about but: place markings with purpose! markings should wrap around the body where there are curves and such. i try to make marking sizes, placement, and style cohesive throughout the design, unless i have a specific reason to go against it. i don't place markings willy nilly, like some may think to do for pelts like tortoiseshells. unless you have a really detailed style, try to keep small teeny markings to a minimum. 3) have fun with weird body traits or accessories! recently i've been liking giving cats really weirdly shaped ears and giving them funny markings inside of their ear leather. fur can help with this. i love giving cats weird accessories and scars too! i think it helps my designs that i change my artstyle so often. difference in artstyle for me also means difference in how i draw pelt markings. i have a really big tutorial about how i think about designing here! i hope this helps? maybe?

ok i'm an entire month late but here are the results of this competition at last!! i would like to preface this by saying a big thank you to everyone who participated as this was my first time doing smt like this! i'm so glad it was met w so much participation and unique entries, and i genuinely cannot express enough gratitude for the ppl who submitted their version. seeing everyone's individual posts w the diverse amount of art styles and mediums was so cool and i loved each post sm!! so thank you for participating and for your support!! it really does mean the world to me!!

I WAS ABSOLUTEY BLOWN AWAY BY NOT ONLY THE COMPOSITION BUT THE LIGHTING OF THIS PIECE. REALLY. MY JAW IS STILL ON THE FLOOR LOOKING AT IT. the warm golden and red glow like evening rays of sun is so gorgeous not to mention dazai's musing expression. hes soo beautiful in your style op he looks like he was carved from marble. so elegant and sharp.

bea oh my god i still get heart eyes whenever i see this. the fuchsia is so gorgeous it looks like whorls of fire and the marble effect of the background is so ethereal. the color palette and rendering in general just astounds me, i feel like i'm on another plane of existence looking at this.

koko!!!!! i'm always enamored by translucent feel of your pieces and it always looks like rose-tinted glass, i always want to break off a piece and let it melt on my tongue bc it looks so sweet and sugary. said this in the tags but the background also was incredible and dazai kind of reminded me of the mad hatter!! the coy expression, the dramatic pose, the whimsical pastel color palette, the tea spilling from the porcelain cups...100/10 for mood and storytelling

shrimp i'm being so honest rn i want this as a poster and i want it hung on my wall bc my heart still stops every time i look at it. the hard light that casts dazai's entire face into shadow which highlights the red of his eye makes me rattle the bars of my cage every single time, not to mention the rimlight on his entire frame basking the piece is an eerie glow. phenomenal play of lighting. i'm swept off my feet.

The soft hum of the air conditioner fills the room as you lie on the bed, watching Hyunjin pack his suitcase for fashion week. His brow furrows in concentration, a sight you find both endearing and amusing. Clothes are strewn across the room, evidence of his meticulous yet chaotic packing style.

“Are you sure you need all of this?” you tease, propping yourself up on your elbows.

He looks over at you, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "I'm only going to be gone for a few days, but there are so many events. I have to make sure I have everything I need, especially since you're not going with me."

His words sting. Of course, you wish you could be there with him, but your schedules just didn’t line up. You sigh, knowing he doesn’t mean to hurt you. He’s simply focused on his schedule, and he’s right. He can’t take you with him, no matter how much he might want to.

You’re both quiet as he continues to fold clothes, carefully placing them in his suitcase. You watch as his hands delicately place each piece of clothing, his fingers brushing against the fabrics. He’s so focused, his brow furrowed and his lips slightly parted.

“You’re so handsome,” you murmur. “I’m going to miss you.”

He glances up at you, his eyes softening. He crosses the room, sitting down next to you on the bed. His hand reaches out, gently caressing your cheek. "I'm going to miss you, too." He smiles, his eyes full of adoration. "But I'll be back before you know it, and then we can spend some quality time together."

You lean into his touch, your heart fluttering at his words. He presses a kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering for a moment. "I love you," he whispers.

"I love you, too."

He pulls you closer, his arms wrapping around you tightly. His kisses become more insistent, moving from your forehead to your cheeks, and then to your lips. Each kiss feels like a promise, a reassurance that his feelings for you are unwavering.

“I’m going to miss your smile,” he murmurs between kisses. “And your laugh.”

You giggle softly, feeling the warmth of his breath against your skin. “I’ll miss how you always make me feel better.”

Hyunjin’s eyes sparkle with affection as he nuzzles his nose against yours. “I’ll miss waking up next to you,” he says softly. “And the way you make my coffee just the way I like it.”

You smile, your heart swelling with love. “I’ll miss how you sing in the shower and your random dance moves.”

He chuckles, his fingers gently tracing your jawline. “I’ll miss holding you like this,” he whispers, his voice thick with emotion. “But I promise I’ll think of you every moment we’re apart.”

You close your eyes, savoring the feeling of being so close to him. “I’ll be counting down the days until you’re back,” you say, your voice barely above a whisper.

Hyunjin kisses you again, his lips soft and tender against yours. “You’re my everything,” he murmurs. “And I’ll come back to you as soon as I can.”

You tighten your arms around him, holding him close as if you never want to let go. “I’ll be waiting,” you promise.

For a while, you just hold each other, savoring the warmth and comfort of being together. Hyunjin’s fingers stroke your hair, his touch gentle and soothing. You can feel the love and tenderness in every movement, every kiss.

Eventually, he pulls back slightly, his eyes meeting yours.

The warmth of his hand is replaced by a cool breeze as he pulls away, returning to his packing. You watch him for a moment longer before laying back down, letting the sound of his movements lull you to sleep.

When you wake, the room is dark, and Hyunjin is gone. His suitcase is zipped and sitting next to the door. You get out of bed, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. "Hyunjin?" you call out, your voice echoing in the empty apartment.

There’s no response.

You wander into the kitchen, hoping to find a note, but there’s nothing. You’re about to call him when you notice a light in the living room. You let out a sigh of relief, happy that he isn’t gone yet. "Hyunjin?"

He’s standing by the window, looking out at the city below. The glow of the lights reflects off his face, illuminating his features. He turns to you, his expression unreadable.

“What’s wrong?” you ask, moving closer to him.

“Nothing,” he replies, his voice low. “I’m just going to miss you.”

You wrap your arms around him, resting your head on his chest. His arms envelop you, his warmth seeping into your body. "It’s only for a few days," you murmur.

He rests his chin on the top of your head, letting out a soft sigh. "A few days too long," he pouts.

You chuckle, pulling back slightly to look up at him. "Don’t worry, I’ll be waiting for you."

"Promise you’ll be right at the door when I’m back?" he asks, a more serious look on his face.

"Like a puppy," you respond with a small laugh.

Hyunjin smiles, the tension leaving his body. "Alright," he sighs. "I guess I better get going then. My manager is blowing my phone up."

You nod, your heart aching at the thought of him leaving. "I’ll text you when I land," he promises, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

"Be safe," you murmur.

He holds you close one last time, his breath warm against your skin. "I’ll be back soon," he says, his voice filled with emotion. He pulls away, giving you one last lingering look before grabbing his suitcase and heading towards the door.

As he leaves, you can’t help but feel a pang of loneliness. The apartment feels emptier without him, but you know it’s only temporary. You walk over to the window, watching as he gets into the car waiting outside. He waves at you, and you wave back, blowing him a kiss.

❥When you were first hired as an assistant M.E., you hadn’t expected to stumble upon the forensic scientist examining the body you were supposed to. It was your first assignment on your own, given to you by Dr. Leslie Thompkins. He stood there, hands inside the body, his hair slightly falling into his face. You weren’t sure how to proceed as you both just stared at each other awkwardly. 

❥That’s how you met Edward Nygma. The lovely dork of the precinct. He was surprised when you didn’t raise your voice. You didn’t give him a dirty look and you didn’t ask him to leave. No, in fact, he couldn’t believe his ears when you asked him to help. It was your first time being unsupervised after all, so it was comforting that someone who also seemed knowledgeable in your field was there. 

❥What you thought was a one time thing ended up happening more often than you thought. Ed would join you, help you inspect the body, then take anything he needed to analyze as the forensic scientist. It became routine. The times he wasn’t there felt off, though he did have his own job to do. You enjoyed his presence. Being surrounded by death on the daily, his odd mannerisms and riddles brought some life into the environment. 

❥The first time Dr. Thompkins, or Lee as she insisted, walked in on you two hovering over a body, she wasn’t surprised in the slightest. She didn’t even pause to process. Why would she? She had put two and two together forever ago. At first you were mortified. It was your duty to make sure policies and protocols were being followed so that any evidence found couldn’t be thrown out. You and Ed were definitely breaking protocol. He wasn’t trained after all.

❥She just continued on like it was the norm. In fact, it was the norm. Ed had been doing this since before she was hired after all. Best to just let him. He knew what he was doing after all. It got to the point that if anyone needed Ed, they’d just go to the M.E. lab. He was there 9/10 times after all.

❥It didn’t help that Ed found himself liking your presence. You never judged him, you weren’t afraid to ask him for help, and most of all, you didn’t push him away for his ‘unusual’ mannerisms. You genuinely tried to answer his riddles. You never got short with him, and if you couldn’t handle them you would tell him upfront. He thought of you as his safe space. Before, the M.E. lab was a safe space solely due to the bodies being like riddles. He found solace in trying to piece together the puzzle of how and why someone was killed. Now, you were a part of that.

So every year, I like to do a redraw of this Marisa piece, and each year I focus on something new that I have improved on, so down here I will show (from left to right) the 2023, and 2022 versions of the same piece.

Artist's note:

So with the 2024 redraw, I focused on the colours and textures of the piece. I will admit that there are some things in the original 2022 version that I like a bit more (i.e. the colours and lighting) but overall I think I improved a lot on the pose and my colours. I feel like I've gotten more comfortable with picking different colours for my colour palettes, as before, I used to stick with one colour to dominate an entire piece. I'm still trying to figure out how to do lighting in my new art style, as I feel like that's one thing I could improve on a lot. I really like how the rendering on the lantern turned out though, so maybe I could approach rendering characters in a similar way??? IDK I'll have to figure that out.

In terms of how I drew Marisa, I gave her freckles. IDK how easily visible they are but she has them. Also, I really like the idea of Marisa putting stuff on the end of her broomstick, as in the 2022 version, I had a bunch of little charms representing the PC-98 games, and I'm sad that I still couldn't find a way to incorporate that into the redraws... ;-;

I do love the idea of Marisa putting a lantern on the end of her broomstick (that's why I love her 17.5 design sm, the lantern is a perfect detail and I love it), so that's why I put it in.

Most hits - Is happiness on the highway, or is it parked in a driveway? Post lawsuit angst, Buck's planning on leaving after the fight in the grocery store, but then Chris gets sick at school & some things change. I didn't realize this one had gotten so much attention, I really thought my BuckAbby baby fic was still the fic w the most hits, whoops lol.

Second most kudos - You help me find my fire OmegaVerse Buddie, written before Omega Eddie was canon, unfortunately lol, but still fun!

Third most comments - Golden Morning Sunbeams I LOVE THIS FIC SM. Not that I don't like the first two, but they were when I first started writing fics, so I feel like my style & the way I think about stuff from canon has changed, and this one is more indicative of where I'm at now as a writer, I feel? Anyway, Chris gets sick while in El Paso and calls Eddie bc as upset as he was, sometimes you just need your dad, and Eddie drops everything to get to his boy. Featuring guard dog Buck & meddlesome Diaz parents.

Fourth most bookmarks - Lonely Girl Buck discovering he has a teenage daughter fic oh, I love you so so much 😭 Takes place right after Chris Ubers to Buck's house, a teenage girl shows up at the loft, claiming to be his daughter, leading to some fun Buddie interactions, Buck pining while Eddie dates Ana (no Ana bashing in this fic). Idk, this fic is so so special to me, all of my buddie kid fics are. I love making those bitches dads again & again 😂

Fifth most words - It's gonna' take a lot to drag me away from you BUDDIE BLENDED AU. Buck & Eddie are two single dads w 2 kids a piece that end up taking a joint vacation in Africa after getting tickets from Bobby & Athena after a Bathena misunderstanding. Blended is one of my fav movies, it's so so so incredibly silly and sweet, and giving buddie four kids & putting them in Situations was so much fun, this is probably my funniest fic; I can't exactly take credit for that because I used stuff from the movie, but I still love it so much. I was writing this in the middle of the night for Summer of Buddie bc I was obsessed with getting it finished after not thinking I was going to have a fic for the romcom prompt lol.

Fic w the least words - Joy I also jumped on the post-Confessions Buddie getting together ep coda train too, I am only a woman lol. Eddie has the search for joy ringing in his ears & Buck is stuck on somebody other than Tommy being his last, and they figure it all out in only 798 words lol.
