Eight has a lot of facets, but I'm still fascinated by his role as the shepherd to Jadus' flock--or the iteration of him where he accidentally becomes cult leader for the remnants of Jadus' followers after the war with Zakuul. In a meta context, he sees himself as the person necessary to test and guide all servants of Jadus in an effort to gather them all in one place and create a united understanding of the will of their master, though he initially is reluctant to even associate with Jadus' other underlings. Even as a retired 'Hand', he makes it his life's mission to interpret what Jadus left behind, becoming a sort of paranormal investigator for the life and works of this mysterious sith lord, as well as de facto leader of his followers who lacked guidance after Jadus' disappearance into seclusion.
One could call him the missing link to Jadus himself.
#do you ever inherit your boss' mission to change the empire while he haunts your narrative#do you also end up inheriting everything he ever owned with not even a footnote on what to make of it#do you spend your life braving the darkness of his mysteries to make use of it for the betterment of mankind#are you determined to face unimaginable terrors and questions to use the power of someone long gone and change a galaxy that has forgotten#both you and him#are you prepared to question why he left you behind#swtor#ooc#i'm just restating what i said about the bride of jadus#but his role is so important. in a way he does inherit his authority (what remains of it) to make lasting change#but not in the way he imagined#ALSO CRYPTIC INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER HANDS#when jadus leaves you high and dry and the mysterious other servant you didn't know about asks if you wanna solve jadus mysteries together#he's his lorekeeper the shepherd to his flock the caretaker of his life#he patiently waits for his return--even if that never comes#whatever. whatever#it's just. he's willing to lead others by the hand if they share something. but he's incapable of that without that connection#to this greater mystery that they all call jadus#or maybe. it's because he knows naught else in the absence of 'fear'
