random thoughts about castaway diva, episode ten
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
Lee Uk is an incredible man!!! I keep repeating myself but he is. The lengths he'll go to to protect his family... <3 I have a lot of respect for him both as a man and as a father. He even went as far as confessing to the police about stealing the family's identity. He's a good man. His face should be the definition of the word "good". I am very tired but know I'll be always rooting for that man.
I'm disgusted by their neighbors' actions: spreading false rumors, turning their backs on so called friends, pitying mr jung when they know nothing about him. I can't wrap my head around the fact they'd stoop that low when they've known them for that long. Victims of ab*se already have a hard time confessing and going to the police to file a complaint, add on top of that nosy and hypocritical neighbors and friends = you'll obtain victims that'll never break out of their silence because of the shame and guilt.
One thing you can count on mok ha for is standing up for the people she loves. She's the first one to confront the neighbors by deconstructing their arguments/theories. It's a beautiful thing to see the relation between mok ha and the kang family. They're one big family 💓
Going back to lee uk, that man is a treasure. He's ready to face the consequences of his actions because he was inspired by his son's words "a lie is a lie. The more you lie, the more weaknesses appear."
Mr Jung is one scary man ewww He talks about his wife and kids as his property and not as people he loves dearly. No wonder they all escaped from him. And in his twisted mind, all his actions are normal and natural. It's natural for a father to search for his wife and kids. It's also normal to hit and ab*se his kids because they didn't obey him. I hope he ends up in jail and away from the family for a long long long time.
Poor Mok ha has a lot to deal with in this episode. First the testimony of mr jung's ab*se towards the family, now ran joo asking her to cut ties with the only people she can call family. I know she's trying to make sure mok ha wouldn't give up just like she did before but that's still a little bit harsh. I'm sensitive I know that.
I can sense the heartbreak coming 💔 ran joo is right about the general public's opinion of mok ha if the latter doesn't cut ties with the family. It breaks my heart but I do understand where she comes from. She has the right to think about herself too. Yoon ran joo is putting a lot into mok ha's career so she has to be sure of whether she'll produce mok ha's album or not.
I know I just said ran joo was harsh with mok ha but she needed to hear that. Mok ha still has this very utopic idea of the world, thinking the rumors won't come back on her once she debuts. She's always been naive so I'm thankful for ran joo shaking her up and opening her eyes.
I admire mok ha because she has so much love to give. She's far from weak, she's proven time and time again how strong she is not only on the deserted island but also in her pursuit of her goals. She prefers to see the glass half full instead of half empty. But sometimes, I can't help but think to myself she needs someone bringing her down to earth from her dreams. Don't get the wrong idea, it's a great thing to have a positive outlook on the world, but sometimes when you do it a lot, it becomes too much.
Oh no... The parallels between young ki ho preparing for their escape from chunsam island and now bo geol putting up the final touches of mok ha's new appartment... my heart is too weak for that!!!
The fact that he bought her an appartment as soon as he found she was alive! Ki ho, the man that you are today 💗💗💗
Mok ha being torn between the two most important things in her life: her dream of becoming a singer & protecting her family. I feel so sorry for her.
It's cute how mok ha thinks she can fool anyone by pretending she's only interested by her reputation as an almost-debuting artist. You can see it. You can hear it. She's not sure of herself. It sounds like she's beating herself up she hears those words come out of her mouth.
There are several things I don't understand: why did ran joo give up her shares when she was so close to the goal? Reaching the goal would've helped both her and mok ha in the long run (ie more money, more creative control, more decision making, etc.). That still doesn't make any sense to me. I'm grateful we got to see ran joo in her element (producing music) but still, i think her getting majority (or half i don't remember) of the shares would have been a better tactic. 2) How did woo hak fall in love with mok ha? It might be because I support bo geol and mok ha more but the love triangle feels a little forced :/ i do wish woo hak to find love, but not with mok ha.
Mok ha learning from her mistakes (distancing herself from the family) and being ready to risk it all to defend ran joo. Just like she said: "If I keep cutting people out, who's going to be left?" She's always been loyal to those close to her so it doesn't surprise me why she said that. And she's right. She's been living alone for a long time, she doesn't need to live that kind of life a second time.
It's nice to see the family all come together to face mr jung. I hope they win this case and mr jung leaves them alone once and for all.
A promising preview for the next episode, I can't wait!
Overall, I'd give this a 8.85/10
#main obstacle of this posts: trying to write mok ha instead of eun bin#i had to correct myself way too many times it's not even funny#i'm contradicting myself a lot in this post#but when have i ever not done so? never#the answer is never lol#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

Drama rec masterlist | Drama rant thread (beware of spoilers)
I don't know what it is about this drama, but something about it just hit me so hard. I cannot count how many times I cried watching this - and not big ugly crying, just tears streaming down my face, from happiness, sadness, hopefulness, hopelessness. Just so many feelings.
It doesn't feel like a drama that would be this emotional from just looking at it, but damn, they really go for the gut punches.
It's about family - both the one you can't choose, and the one you make for yourself. The friends you make along the way - the real ones and the ones you later learn were never on your side. It's about reaching for your dreams, no matter how long the road may be, and to enjoy the journey while you're doing it. It's never too late to do that one thing you've always dreamed of, if you work hard enough, you will succeed - maybe not in the way you first imagined, but in the way that needed to happen.
Go through life with kindness, give people the benefit of the doubt, but at the same time not allowing people to walk all over you. You can stand strong and firm on your own, without trampling on others.
I've been in a drama slump for a while, and every drama I've watched I've either not finished or just felt meh about, but this one... I'm so happy I watched it. I'm about to hit my thirties, and sometimes think about what my life could have been had I done x or y, so seeing Mok-ha still out there chasing her dreams and just doing her best at that same age was really comforting in a way. We're still young, and we still have so much time to do what we want. It's gonna be okay.
And the music! Oh my gosh, the entire soundtrack is amazing. Park Eun-bin has such a magical voice. My favorites are definitely Dream Us, Someday, and Fly Away.
All the actors just blew it out of the park - I'm especially impressed by the two young actors Lee Re and Moon Woo-jin who played the younger versions of Mok-ha and Ki-ho. Their roles dealt with some really sensitive topics, and they just gave us everything they had in raw emotions. It would take too long if I had to go over every single actor in this drama, but just know that they all pulled their weight and more. What a dream cast!
This drama is one of the ones I'll be thinking about randomly for years to come, I can already tell. Highly recommended watch.

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode nine
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
Seeing bo geol confront his father reminds me of that time he blew up and shouted at him, telling him how he wished he left the family alone. He's courageous enough to face him and hopefully get rid of him. I'm still scared for him but he's the only one in the family who is able to do so. Even when he was a teenager, he was the one who told the truth to his father. Both the mom and the older brother were too scared of mr jung. It's heartbreaking to see him go there alone, even though he has a support system now. He doesn't want them to be hurt. Plus, add to that he's the one in the family who spent the longest time with mr jung. I'm rooting for him. I'm sure he can find a way to make the father leave them alone, but I'm still scared about his safety.
It's interesting how ki ho's decision to meet with mr jung was influenced by mok ha's words, stating how she was sad when her father p*ssed aw*y... It's also incredibly kind of her to put herself in her father's shoes, explaining how he too had a harsh past. Mok ha really is kind and empathetic. Even though she was a victim of ab*se, she still tries to defend her father, perpetrator of said ab*se.
And now we see bo geol repeat mok ha's words to his father. He said he should've lived a happier life and ignored his son who abandoned him. Manipulative behavior from the dad who keeps putting all the blame on his family, when he's the one that pushed them away because of his ab*sive behavior.
I'm so proud of my boy ki ho for outsmarting his biological father. But sad at the same time that he had to use such measures to prove he's been ab*sed for such a long time 💔 .
I find it sad that mok ha puts yoon ran joo before herself and she's willing to bow down at her and take all the criticism just because she's admired her for such a long time. Where is the fighting spirit she had when facing people like lee seo jun? I just want her to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a singer. No matter how close she is to ran joo, i don't want her to be so weak in front of her. She can stand up for herself. Mok ha has always been faithful and an incredible support system for ran joo. And to see ran joo take advantage of that by using harsh words directed at mok ha is hurting me too. I find it so unfair.
But at the same time (should become my catchphrase atp), I do understand how ran joo feels because she's been betrayed by a previous artist with a similar path to mok ha's (my bet's on that man is now eun mo rae's manager). She doesn't want to be disappointed a second time. It's true that she put her all into that artist and she now knows the consequences of such actions. However, that doesn't mean it'll be the same for mok ha. They could've sat down and had an adult conversation about mok ha's sudden decision.
Both women are suffering (for different reasons) which is why they're both emotional most of the time. But they're also two of the strongest women i've seen so I hope they make up and start anew with a better mindset.
Me? Don't mind me I'm being emotional because ki ho was finally strong enough to be vulnerable around mok ha. After such a long time putting up a front and acting like nothing happened, he's freeing himself of all that emotional burden that's been there for far too long. Also, we finally see mok ha comfort him after he was the one comforting her when they were kids 💗💗💗 I AM EMOTIONAL :(((
Ah, I was wrong Mok ha told him he'll never see mr jung again because she was the one who was going to take care of him. Now i'm scared for mok ha... Stop playing with my heart please!!!
I knew it! Eun mo rae's manager was the artist who gave up. I'm glad they gave him a backstory and gave us an explanation as to why he seems so harsh and cold.
Yoon ran joo still feels sorry for mok ha and wants what's best for her. I hope they can make up and mok ha starts thinking about herself too.
Seeing mok ha choose rnj ent and standing up for herself is a great thing to see. I really hope ran joo can be a part of her project.
I'm pretty sure stagnant water is either eun mo rae's manager. Edit: and i was right!
So happy to have so many mok ha singing moments. Park eun bin's voice is no joke.
I knew lee uk was doing something behind everyone's back when he overheard that bo geol went to see mr jung. I don't know what but I'm curious to find out.
BO GEOL RUN TO HELP MOK HA AND YOUR MOM THEY'RE IN DANGER!!!
First you're leaving me on a cliffhanger and now you're giving me that preview? How can I wait for the next episode? HOW???
I'll give this episode a 8.5/10
#i don't want anything to happen to my boy ki ho#but i know mr jung will do everything to break the family and take back all the control he had over them#the preview for episode 10 has me on the egde of my seat </3#i really hope there's a happy ending to this drama#or else i'll riot#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode (sau)six
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
now that i think about it, one thing is bothering me. Why is mr jung so obsessed with finding ki ho only? Didn't he mention there were four members in the family? So why is he so adamant on finding his son ki ho and not the other one? I'm confused. It's true that we didn't see the older in the first episodes so I'm wondering if the brother was already with the mother when ki ho was still in chunsam. It might have been mentioned the brother was already with the mother. I'm not sure.
The whole family wants to keep mr jung a secret and pretend nothing happened. Makes you wonder how far he (mr jung) went. No, I don't want to think about it. I just noticed how the mother is always limping. Mr Jung is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad person.
I'm glad we finally got answers but I would be happier if mr jung was behind bars and the whole family can live in peace.
On another note, I am so happy to see president hwang keeping his promise and re-realeasing old ran joo albums. Let's cross fingers she'll reach the 20 million mark before the end of her contract.
I'm grateful that the show doesn't only focus on the ki ho story, they're also giving time for ran joo's story to develop. I just want this whole mess to be over and ran joo must win or else, i'll riot!!!
I've already talked about it but the little details are everything. You can see how rnj company treats ran joo and mok ha like they're less than them. They don't let them know about eun mo rae appearing on heyday again. The Heyday cast treating eun mo rae's manager with way more respect than mok ha. Everyone wants them to fail. It's unfair because there's an obvious power imbalance between ran joo and mok ha vs the rest of the company. Rnj (company) have a lot of connections. The CEO is literally a millionaire, even a billionaire (idk). And then you have ran joo who has been forgotten for her behavior and vocal nodule. The only person on her side is mok ha, a woman that has lived on a deserted island for fifteen years and has a hard time adjusting to the world. No wonder they have a difficult time reaching that goal.
Eun mo rae's manager is as evil and manipulative as lee seo jun. He's blackmailing mok ha into shutting up and agreeing with everything he asked for appearing in heyday again.
I feel for both ran joo and mo rae because lee seo jun is only going to be profiting from them until they're no longer 'young and fresh'. He only describes them as 'cash cows'. He doesn't hold the same value he used to when he was a nobody and ran joo chose him as her new ceo. Money changes people and lee seo jun is a great example of that.
I was worried eun mo rae would just be a filler character but no, the show is giving us the whole backstory behind her career. I am sorry that she knows she was the second choice. If Mok ha was at seoul station to meet with ran joo, then eun mo rae wouldn't be where she is now. She must have a lot of pent up frustration and anger. She idolized ran joo when she was younger but now that she knows ran joo doesn't like her (for many reasons), the image she had of her idol is now broken (like her heart).
There are so any character relations and that's what makes the show good imo. Eun mo rae and ran joo's rivalry is interesting to see.
At this point, I just want bo geol to tell mok ha he is in fact ki ho because this whole back and forth between being caring and all of a sudden distant is tiring me out.
I know he's protecting both himself and mok ha from his father because, once the truth is out, there's no guarantee the boar (mr jung) will leave them alone. Ki ho has tried time and time again to escape from his father but he would be back with him because he is his father. No matter how ab*sive mr jung was, police would bring ki ho back to him because they're related. That's why he changed his entire identity. The psychological damage mr jung has put on the whole family is unfathomable.
Talking about mr jung, here's my theory on why he's obsessed with finding ki ho. So, as we know they were a family of four until the father hit woo hak (forgot his old name) on the head with a chair. The mother didn't leave woo hak for even a second (which is understandable of course). So that left ki ho and mr jung. Ki ho was the only one in the family brave enough to stand up to mr jung. Ki ho's brother and the mom were trying to appease the tension by lying to the father or agreeing with what he was saying in fear of being hit. I think ki ho being the youngest, his patience wasn't as strong as his momand brother's. He was the one admitting to wanting to run away from him. He was the one who said he'd be happier without his dad here. Ki ho got tired and he exploded purely and simply. Mr Jung was so used to everyone being obedient that ki ho's outburst was the final straw. Mr Jung took ki ho with him to chunsam island and that's where the real nightmare started (he was already living it before but in chunsam it was like the ultimate level). Ki ho had no one with him, no one to help him forget for even a second what was going on at home. He was alone. Even when he and mok ha got closer, he didn't confide in her. He kept everything in himself, because he knew the moment he talked his father would find out and make him pay for it. Ki ho is so strong for surviving all of this. He helped mok ha escape from her father, but he couldn't escape from his. Mr Jung won't stop until he finds ki ho, because he's the key to finding the mom and the brother.
The thing that's telling me ki ho and his father living on chunsam island happened after the chair incident is because when the father saw ki ho saved money to try and escape he said something along the lines of "Did you find her (the mom)? Is that why you saved all that money?" He wouldn't have said it if chunsam happened before seoul. Or maybe my brain is too tired and confusing a thing for another.
If the two previous points didn't make any sense to you, it's normal. When I'm trying to explain something that's deep and complex, I have a hard time finding the right words and writing coherent sentences. Sorry for that ehe.
Mok ha confronting eun mo rae was a sweet sweet moment. Both rivals finally meeting and mok ha not backing out. I'm proud of her. When nobody is on her side, mok ha proves she can take care of things on her own.
Bo geol being subtle about his way of helping mok ha is doing things to my heart 💓
this was a good episode, i'll give it a 8.75/10

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode five (pt. 2)
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
I KNEW IT!!! There were four towels in the gift dae woong (ki ho's childhood friend) gave to mr jung (ki ho's father). He said there's one for each of us, meaning one for the dad, one for the mom, one for ki ho and the last for ki ho's sibling. So that means bo geol is ki ho and woo hak is ki ho's older brother. I'VE CONNECTED THE DOTS.
Agh! I'm so mad!!! i don't want president hwang to be swayed by lee seo jun's offer. Please refuse it so ran joo can become the majority shareholder of rnj.
I didn't expect the show to give us the whole backstory on ran joo's singing career. So, president hwang gave up his job and abandoned his family to make ran joo famous. And then she left him to go to lee seo jun's company. He must feel a lot of regret and I hope he didn't sign the contract lee seo jun offered him. I want to believe he still has a little bit of room in his heart to help ran joo.
The parallel between president hwang lashing out at ran joo and ran joo lashing out at mok ha is so clever. I hope ran joo learns from her mistakes and doesn't take mok ha for granted. Like president hwang said, "we tend to take it out on the kindest pushovers" and then the camera pans to mok ha. She's apologized to ran joo when she wasn't even in the wrong, she forgave her quickly, she's doing the most to help ran joo's album sale goal and yet it seems ran joo only hoped mok ha would magically hear her apology when she (ran joo) didn't say it out loud to her (mok ha).
Hilarious how both ran joo and mok ha forgot to talk about album sales with president hwang and bo geol being the one to remind them lmao
I like how president hwang saw right through seo jun. He knew as soon as he signed the contract, lee seo jun would discard him. Finally someone with a brain and using it against lee seo jun!!!
Nice parallel between the two brothers. Bo geol at the beginning of the episode affirming he doesn't know ki ho, but still letting mok ha know he must be doing okay. And woo hak at the end of the episode letting her know he saw ki ho and he's doing well. Each brother taking a different approach to it but still reassuring her ki ho is alive and okay.
So dae woong got into an accident after he tried dissuading mr jung to find ki ho.
Okay so here's my theory as to why woo hak keeps having these flashbacks. So, as I confirmed from the towels (and the mugs in mr jung's seoul house), there are four members in the family: mr jung, his now ex-wife, ki ho and his brother. Woo hak keeps having these flashbacks that happen in the seoul house, not in the chunsam island house. I think woo hak is ki ho's brother that mr jung manage to keep with him when ki ho escaped. Mr Jung is mad about it and takes it out on the other sibling aka woo hak. Woo hak's amnesia must have happened around that time when during one of his bursts of anger, Mr Jung hit woo hak on the head and it was so violent woo hak ended up having amnesia. I'm not sure about that but I wanted to share my thoughts with whoever's reading this.
Okay so the plot thickened a lot and I am not ready for what happens next hahaha laughing in pain emoji.
This episode has developed a lot of storylines and it made me excited more like fearful for what will happen next. It's a 9.75/10 for me
#watch out there's a new detective in town (me)#when i saw the four items i thought to myself that i was a genius lol#i need the compliments and i'll get them wherever i can#a lot of things happened in this episode#i just hope the show doesn't reveal too much because we're only at the first half#i want to find out more in future episodes#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode five (pt. 1)
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
Now i'm sure of it kang bo geol is jung ki ho. No one can change my mind. The way he's expressing anger because mok ha came to seoul station just because of a note. The way he's told her and ran joo time and time again not to share personal information on national television. The fact that he literally ran to seoul station without woo hak telling him what was written on the card. All details leading to him being ki ho. He was scared of his father finding out about mok ha, and subsequently about him. He's releasing all of his pent up fear and anger because he knows that his father is after him. All his efforts of hiding his identity have gone down the drain. It's understandable to see him so stressed and angry.
Mok ha's reaction is also natural. She's been alone for such a long time. She's having a hard time adjusting to the world. Her main goal is to reunite with the only person who was there for her during high school. She has no idea if he's safe or not and it's driving her crazy. Because, as much as ki ho saved and protected her, she wants to do the same now for him. She never got the chance to because he hid the ab*se pretty well. It's only on the ferry/boat that she knew ki ho was also a victim of parental ab*se. It tore her heart to know someone else was going through the same things as her. Mok ha had time to dwell on that when on the deserted island. Now that she's finally "back with the civilization" (if i can call it that), she wants to thank him and know how he's doing. She wants to help him in return. So it's only natural for her to be so adamant on finding ki ho.
I just find it weird that woo hak keeps having flashbacks that seem to involve ki ho's father. It doesn't make any sense because ki ho doesn't have a brother. Not that I know of? Did they mention any siblings in the first episode? I'm certain they talked about ki ho's mother, but I don't think the show mentioned any sibling. Anyway, I am very confused about the flashbacks.
Mok ha feeling relieved that ki ho's father hasn't found him.
It's interesting how both woo hak and bo geol keep questioning mok ha about ki ho but mok ha never stops believing in him. After all, he's the only person she could fully trust. He (ki ho) is the only one who helped her when she was on the brink of giving up completely. It goes to show how powerful kindness and empathy are. Ki ho pushed her towards her dream. He was the glimmer of hope mok ha needed in these dark times. Mok ha will never forget him. I don't know if there will be a love story in this drama but the only thing mok ha wants is to find ki ho alive and safe. She doesn't want anything else. She just needs to know he's doing okay. It's a beautiful thing to see their bond never broke (at least on mok ha's side) even after all these years. Mok ha and ki ho are each other's emotional support.
On a side note, I can't help but wonder why bo geol (who i think is ki ho) is so distant towards mok ha. I mean with all the longing gazes he throws her way and the little details that show he is ki ho (if i'm wrong i'm not it's the show being hashtag hateful towards me), I expect a bit more enthusiasm from him. I have a theory but I'm not sure about it. I believe he is distant because he's spent a really long time building his new identity. He has finally succeeded in escaping from his father so when he found mok ha, he was torn between being happy that she's alive and fearing for his own safety. Being the smart kid that he is, he knew that when his father found out mok ha was alive, he (the father) wouldn't stopped until he found his son. This could explain his cold behavior. I still wonder why he didn't reveal his identity to mok ha.
You can NOT tell me bo geol isn't ki ho. Did you see how fast he was to oppose to reporting his father to the police? The fear in his eyes reminds me of young ki ho hiding from his father and not wanting to cause a scene. The one time he tried to report his own father to the police, things turned sour. Plus add the fact he knows his father is after him. He doesn't want to face him ever again.
The emergency contact scene was wholesome 🥺
I've never wanted to swear at someone so bad. I'm talking about lee seo jun. After taking advantage of ran joo, he slowly distanced himself and the company away from her just so he could be the only ceo. He's so scared of ran joo's success because he knows she'll focus more on the talent aspect, and not so much on the marketing strategy. After becoming a household name, lee seo jun got hungry for more money and fame and it's absolutely disgusting to see. I really hope ran joo can find a loophole and reach the 20 million album sales 🤞
i like that both ran joo and mok ha are trying to find a solution to solve the album sale problem.
It's interesting to note how mok ha seems to be way more accepting towards people she loves and admires. Ran joo took out her frustration on mok ha and blamed her situation on her (mok ha) and mok ha was already apologizing when she did nothing wrong. She's had this fantasy of ran joo for a while and now she's afraid of damaging their friendship. I'm thankful bo geol is there to open her eyes, or else mok ha would still be apologizing.
#hi and welcome to i've connected the dots land#i can't believe i spent three hours on one episode alone#it's a first for me#i don't know if i should be impressed or worried#i don't have the motivation to reread myself so my apologies if there are any sentences that don't make any sort of sense#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode oven four
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
I find it funny that bo geol is considered the mean and condescending brother (in mok ha's eyes) when in reality he seems to be the more mature and rational one.
In that aspect, he does remind me a bit of ki ho because he's always thinking of everything and making sure to prevent risks from happening. He might keep a distance from mok ha because he doesn't know how to approach her after all these years?
As you can see, i'm very invested in the 'who is ki ho?' part of the plot.
For once (exageration), I agree with woo hak on the digital illeteracy. I'm seeing this first hand among neighbours and family friends. Some people take it for granted when they grew up with the internet and know how to work on laptops/computers. However, be geol should take into consideration that mok ha has lived on a deserted island for 15 years, i repeat 15 years!!! It's only normal she doesn't know how to do a lot of things that weren't necessary for survival.
I expected bo geol to be more understanding of mok ha because he seemed more polite than his brother. However, woo hak is the more empathetic one it seems.
Seeing mok ha being so impatient to reunite with ki ho makes me in turn impatient but alas, i don't think it'd be good to make them meet again right now because this drama would be 6 episodes long instead of 12.
it's beautiful how mok ha is offering to eat with woo hak just so he won't be alone. She's felt alone for a long time (both when she lived in chunsam and on that deserted island). The only person who showed her support hasn't reunited with her but she wants to be like ki ho: helping others during harsh times because she doesn't want that to happen to anyone else.
Woo hak, i think, holds a special place in mok ha's heart (unknowingly). I mean he's the first human she's seen after 15 years. She sees him like her savior. So yeah, it's understandable how she extends her hand towards him. Just like he did unintentionnally on the deserted island.
Honestly, is there anything bad about this drama?
The psychological warfare between lee seo jun and yoon ran joo... mind blown
The thing I appreciate the most is how mok ha is protecting ran joo and seeing right through the ceo's tactics. At least, there's one person on ran joo's side. I'm relieved.
The whole time mok ha was singing as ran joo, i was holding my breath and telling her to pay attention to her surroundings because someone might catch her and blow the whole cover up 💔😭😭😭
Mok ha in the white dress she's gorgeous 😍💓😍💓😍💓
I feel for ki ho because he thought by changing his identity he could escape his father. However, mok ha reappeared and everything is back to his teenage years. The vision of officer jung is scaring me.
Is this drama's purpose to confuse everyone watching or what? Because at this point I think ki ho is both brothers. I mean bo geol knew immediately where mok ha was even though woo hak didn't tell him about what's written in the card. But then, you have woo hak getting hit with memories (more like nightmares) of his father. I'm not sure how it'd be possible to get flashbacks from someone else's life. This isn't a sci-fi drama, is it?
Lee seo jun is shady soooooooooooooooooooo shady. I don't trust him and I don't want mok ha nor ran joo being around him.
THAT'S IT! I'm no longer watching the show. Why are you creating a love story between ran joo and lee seo jun? HUH?!!! Is ran joo going to be swayed by him and lose her career just for some man? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I don't approve.
I didn't think I'd say this but I'm thankful for lee seo jun being manipulative and disgusting. I do not want a love story between these two.
But the fact that he's basically stopping any of her albums to be sold so she won't reach the 20 million goal is utterly vile. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
What kind of man is scared of a woman's success? A BIGOT!
I don't know what to think of this episode. So many things happened.
I'm going to give this one a 8.75/10
#hey and welcome to part two of 'i am so confused by everything even i don't know what i'm writing' lol#i'm a little disappointed by this episode#i don't know how to explain it but i was expecting a bit more than what i've watched#my heart did stop a few times#especially when ki ho's dad showed up#other than that i was ready to quit watching the show when they wanted to create a ran joo x lee seo jun love story#thankfully it didn't happen (and it won't happen right? RIGHTN?)#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode two
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
i'm going to preface this by saying i'm contradicting myself a lot in what you're going to read next but that's because i'm writing my comments as i watch the episode. so, when the show explains something that seems nonsensical at first, i'm going back on my words ^^'
the title of this episode (coincidence v fate) is intriguing. I think ki ho is one of the two brothers. I don't know which one yet but I really hope it's not woo-hak because his actions are in contradiction to what he's done when a teenager.
He wants to be a reporter but he chooses to publish mok ha's story when his brother, bo geol, rightfully told him not to do so because it'll attract public attention and mok ha is trying to adjust to the world after being alone for 15 YEARS.
From what i've seen, bo geol is more probably ki ho because he's more considerate towards her and seems to respect boundaries. He's also more polite and kind.
I'm sorry but kang woo hak can not be ki ho. I don't think he'd have changed that much in 15 years. I think that, even though ki ho changed his identity and pretended to be someone else, he'd still have that gentleness and compassion in himself. Which is why i'm leaning more towards be geol being ki ho. It makes more sense to me.
Or maybe ki ho will appear further down the line? I don't know.
Yeah i'm sure ki ho is not woo hak. There can't be any explanation that would change my mind. If he does end up being ki ho, I will riot! That's for sure.
They're planting the seed that woo hak is ki ho by the recurring "and then?". It's a nice detail, but i'm still iffy about him being ki ho.
This episode has left me confused more than anything.
I hope we'll see more mok ha & bo geol interactions so there is more suspense.
Just thought about it but woo hak being very close with his father could be another indicator that he's ki ho. He's never had a bond with his biological father so he wants to do that with his "new father".
On the flip side, if bo geol is ki ho, it's understandable that he seems more distant with his father. He's never had a good relationship with his dad so he has a harder time sharing an emotional connection with him. Hence why he's on his mom's side a lot of the time.
But also, woo hak is someone who pinpoints the importance of planning ahead for the future, something teenage ki ho has done by saving money to escape from his father.
I don't like this show because I sense a headache coming...
"If you keep worrying, you'll just end up with as many regrets down the road" Mok ha is regretting she didn't agree to go meet ran joo in seoul sooner. If she had done so, she might not have ended up on that island. The dilemma was difficult though because her father's presence was a heavy burden on her shoulders. Just like i said in my post for episode one, he destroyed her life and dreams so it's understandable she refused to go to seoul. She was scared and thought that maybe if she stopped wanting to be a singer, her father would calm down. Unfortunately, alcoh*lism is something that has an impact on the person that drinks and the people around them.
Throughout this episode, it was easy to notice how mok ha's personality and mindset hasn't changed at all. I mean, she spent fifteen years alone on a deserted island with no one to talk to. She kept herself company and seeing as she hasn't been influenced by what happened in the world, it's natural for her to be the same as she was when she arrived on that island more than a decade ago.
On that note, I'd like to say park eun bin is doing a wonderful job at being out of place/a foreigner to the world around her.
I'm just happy that mok ha learned from her past mistakes and will do whatever she wants to do. She's growing in front of our eyes.
The whole dodeok performance moment gave me so many feelings. Seeing yoon ran joo fall in disgrace from the public eye, resulting in her drowning her sorrow in cig*r*ttes and alc*h*l. But, even then, there's still someone by her side: seo mok ha. She kept her enthusiasm. She's a yoon ran joo fangirl. She proved it by giving balloons to everyone and asking them to cheer the singer on. She's a devoted fan and she made the impossible possible: impressing everyone with her singing skills and making her favorite singer shine.
I sense a strong bond forming in the future between the two women. I see them helping each other in many ways. I just can't wait to see more of ran joo and mok ha together.
I don't know if this is park eun bin singing but wow she sure does have an amazing voice 😍 edit: i checked and it is her singing voice. What a nice surprise!
before i end up this post, i'd like to apologize because i've been going back and forth in the comments i made on who might be ki ho. It's just that woo hak being ki ho makes sense but at the same time it doesn't. I'm waiting for the next episodes to see what happens.
Once again a great episode, so i'll give it a 9.5/10
#if anyone reads this and doesn't understand a single thing i said it's okay i am the same#i was left very confused by the episode as a whole#which is a good thing because it's making me curious about what will happen further down the line#i wasn't expected to be this hooked on a drama but i'm thankful#it rarely happens but i'm genuinely happy to watch this show#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva
