Before I start reading the book (which came in the mail today), I wanna know who you picture as Ambrose and Kodiak?

ambrose i don't really have a good outward picture of for an actor. i'm thinking someone skinny in frame, big in character. i've been reading it again to pin it down. but i got nothing.

John pauses, thumb hovering. Before he can choose a response, another message flashes in.

It's Harry

He nearly drops the phone. Or maybe he nearly throws it against the wall. Hard to say. 

His reflex to caretake wars with his lingering resentment of her absence. But he knows he would regret ignoring an olive branch… or whatever this is.

Everything okay?

No small talk, got it

Yes I'm fine, good in fact

and no I'm not going to ask you for money

He breathes in deeply.

John taps his phone to his lip absently and considers his options. A public reunion seems like it could be a volatile mistake, not to mention it's 7pm on a weekday. Sherlock is at the lab, Rosie is having her after-supper blanket time, and John is catching up on charting.

And to be honest, he's pretty bored.

Come to mine for tea?

Harry's three dots wibble for a while, which John supposes is fair.

Okay, yeah, I'm free

He sends her the address, feeling both pleased and annoyed. One would think that hitting his own rock bottom would make him more sympathetic towards his sister. But really, it just piles helpless anger on top of guilt on top of anger, ad nauseum.

He's not even sure she knows he's a father, for Christ's sake.

Turns out, she doesn't. She walks through the door he holds open for her, and stops abruptly when she sees Rosie. 'Oh my God,' she breathes, staring. 'Oh my God. You--' She turns to John, eyes wide. 'She-- Johnny. She's yours?'

He nods, and despite everything, he feels his face curve into a proud smile. 'Her name's Rosie.'

'Can I--' Harry indicates the blanket with a sharp movement. 'Can I say hello to her?'

'Yeah, course.' He follows her, and folds himself down behind Rosie. 'Sweetheart, this is your Aunt Harry.'

Harry makes a bit of a squawking noise, probably at the 'aunt' bit, but tamps it down. 'Hi, Rosie,' she manages, her voice rough but determined. 'It's lovely to meet you. What are you playing with?'

'Avocados,' Rosie mostly manages to say, then holds one up for Harry without hesitation. Harry takes it with a giggle, and before long they're thick as thieves with a pile of emoting avocados between them.

Harry glances up at him when there's a lull. 'So. The dad life is treating you well, yeah?'

He hesitates, then nods. 'It is now.'

She eyes him, but doesn't ask about what came before now. Instead, she says, 'I'm just going to ask, alright -- who's the other parent?'

He raises an eyebrow. 'Why d'you say there is one?'

Her eyes twinkle. 'Because you do not have the fashion sense to have bought her this outfit. Your bird rich, then?'

He coughs. 'Well. No.'

She waits, though he can see she's trying not to be annoyed by his reticence. She's never understood people wanting to keep things private. 'No?'

'My… flatmate. He's able to buy her things I don't give a toss about, yeah.'

She blinks. 'You have a gay flatmate?'

John feels his ears heat up. 'I do, yeah.'

She seems weirdly impressed. 'You've come a long way from being a rugby lad, haven't you?'

He snorts. 'I'm learning how to do plaits, if you'll believe it.'

'She's not got enough hair for that yet.'

'Sherlock--the flatmate--insists it's a useful skill, though I've no idea why.'

She doesn't reply, and he looks up from where he's helping Rosie with her current avocado. 'What?' he asks, though he knows it's useless. Harry is no Sherlock but honestly, she doesn't have to be, because his emotions have always been written all over his face. It's a curse and a blessing.

'Oh holy shit,' she breathes out.

'Language,' he admonishes reflexively.

'Sorry, I mean-- Holy noses, Johnny.'

'Don't be smug.'

'Oh, I take no credit for this, I always knew the overcompensating locker room talk was hiding something.'

He rolls his eyes, but his lips are twitching. 'Yeah, insecurity about willy size.'

'Okay, ew, first of all. Second of all-- What the--' He gives her a warning look. 'Ever-loving heck.'

'Short version?' She nods quickly. He decides to also give her the slightly-less-mad-sounding version. 'Got married, got pregnant, had baby, wife passed away, realised I had feelings for my flatmate. Who is a man. And who is effectively fathering my child.'

She claps her hand over her mouth, and for a moment he fears she's going to cry, but then realises she's laughing.

'Oi, that's just not on,' he protests.

'But it's ridiculous!' She holds out a hand to him placatingly, speaking through continued laughter. 'It's lovely and sad and all that, but you have to admit--'

There are tears escaping the corners of her eyes, and he feels it begin to bubble up in his chest, too. Her laugh has always been a thing of beauty, of loud, annoying, contagious, unforgettable beauty, and he can't help it.

And she's right, really. It is kind of ridiculous.

He lets out his own laugh, finally, and reaches for her hand.

Trick or Treat! I haven't read tlt yet, and I'm sure I would like it, but my pet peeve is that most of the "synopses" I see are basically just "lesbian necromancers in space!" and even the back of the book that I've seen just doesn't give me much of an idea of the plot? I'm sure I would like it, but it's hard to know what it's actually About 😔

treat. thats a similar gripe i have as well! i think its good for attracting an audience but it doesnt do much to get them hooked aside from "it has lesbians in it". if you want to get a genuine tlt fic rec from me i wrote this in goodreads. yes sorry i started a goodreads i just needed to keep track of what books i read:

the locked tomb series is about the horrors of love, the tragedy of relationships beyond romance, why codependency is not as fun as you think, the joy of sacrifices, how imperialism affects culture affects people affects imperialism, and most importantly: the humor of not knowing what the fuck is going on. i PROMISE you that tamsyn ties all of these together perfectly.

gideon the ninth is about the intimacy of hating someone youve known your whole life, the all-consuming desire to make something out of yourself and how it can destroy you if youre not careful, how no man is an island, and how you are not immune to propaganda. it is also a murder mystery. i ALSO promise tamsyn writes this all in efficiently.

throughout the series, muir's gimmick is choosing the person least equipped to narrate objectively: the points of view are opinionated, ignorant, humorous, and challenging to get through if you're someone that asks "can this PLEASE be explained now??" she sets up dominoes in seemingly random places at random times, and then knocks it all over in a beautiful cascade of information that makes you feel thrilled and sick. the series is incredibly rereadable from the layers of foreshadowing and theming between all three (soon to be four) books, but for your first run you HAVE to be patient. you HAVE to be willing to be entertained. the payoff of being invested in this series is glorious; it's red-string 'am i crazy' hype. i have a google doc listing off theme connections and details that i started for fun. the characters are MEAN, which i value with my life. gideon and harrowhark are 17 and 18 years old and they act like it: they're funny, theyre self-flagellating, theyre bitchy, theyre unreasonable, etc etc. every character flaw is consistent with their being.

my biggest gripes with the series is that the worldbuilding is too weak for what i can see it being and the memes can be a little niche. the setting and necromancy is moreso a tool for the characters, so theres a lot of beautiful tidbits and descriptions, but you're not going to get any rules or meta beyond surface-level aesthetics. personally, "lesbian necromancers in space" does not cut it for me. if you were raised catholic though, this book might strike a chord with you. if you were raised catholic AND you are a lesbian, youre the target audience. i hope you have fun YOU WILL LIKE THIS SERIES/BOOK IF YOU LIKE: tragedy, character juxtaposition, the teen butch struggle, the exploration of love and toxic dynamics, mystery, sci-fi written like a fantasy novel, catholic theming, death theming, enemies to lovers but worse, freaky white girls, dyke drama, lesbians that have problems bigger than dyke drama, swordfighting, character duos, morally gray characters YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE THIS BOOK/SERIES IF YOU DISLIKE: being confused, being left in the dark for too long, unreliable narrators, morally gray characters, loose/light worldbuilding

Ted Lasso, Macgyver and a little bit of occasional dabbling in others.

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yes. I'm a little slow, and then I'll do a whole bunch at once.

6. Angstiest Ending?

I don't think I tend to do angsty endings. I write a lot of angst but it's usually wrapped up and left with something hopeful by the end.

7. Fic with the Happiest Ending?

I wrote Living Death, a Macgyver fic and as you can possibly guess from the title, very angsty. It has some presumed death in it, but at the end Mac and Jack take a joy ride in the GTO which is just pure joy so I think I'll count that as my happiest ending.

No, thankfully.

9. Do you write smut?

No, I’m ace, it doesn’t interest me much.

Not usually. Did a short Merlin and Macgyver one once though.

Voyager. Or maybe Enterprise, I'll always have a soft spot for NCC-1701 D but I think Voyager is so much more elegant. I wish I could pick a Stargate ship, but they're all pretty ugly! Unless we count Atlantis? That's a beautiful spacecity.

15. WIPs you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I live in hope for all of them.

16. Writing strengths?

Making things angsty and fIguring out plot problems. I think of them like puzzles, I need X to happen, how do we make that happen and also feel true to the characters? I think my dialogue is a strength too (we'll ignore the grammar of it all though.)

17. Writing Weaknesses?

Finishing wips in a timely manner? I think the technical parts of my writing are improving, albeit slowly. One of my weaknesses is that I don't stray far outside of my preferred genres, I'd probably learn so much more if I tried out some of them.

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?

Use it carefully and it can work really well. I think you need to make sure it works in the context of what you're writing and that it doesn't throw the reader out of the story.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

SPN in 2007-ish? If we're counting published fics. I technically wrote fanfic for a children's book series when I was about six though.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

That's so hard to pick! How can I choose? I love so many of them for so many different reasons. When Darkness Falls is my longest fic, and even after working on it for so long, I'm still not bored of it, I love it. I also love Running Through Emotions because I think I absolutely nailed the tone I was going for in that one. I love Living Death because it's oh-so-painfull angsty and full of love. I think it'd be easier to pick my top ten.

Hey I was a fan of your stuff but literally only realised that you’re a minor writing smut. Not gonna shame you for it or anything since that’s your choice but as a grown adult myself it does make me uncomfortable interacting with a minor who is posting 18+ content and I didn’t realise before since it wasn’t as obvious with there being so much in your bio. Definitely think it would be better if you made it more obvious on your blog at you are under 18 as it’s kinda uncomfortable for some adults read smut that is written by a minor. I definitely try to respond to everything, but I have been slacking lately. I love reading comments and seeing messages and reading reblog notes and tags, so thank you to everyone that's left me something. I get a little overwhelmed and overthink replies to people, and then they just pile up. I need to get better with that - I don't ever want anyone to feel like I don't appreciate the time they take to read and leave comments, because I 100% do.

6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

A lot of my stuff is still ongoing, but I'd have to say that one of my 2023 Summer Smooches for Frankie: A Kiss in the Dark/A Breakup Kiss was really angsty.

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of my stories have somewhat happy endings, but I think the one that is actually the overall happiest is Life Is Good

8. do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten some in the past, yes. It's mainly been due to the things I won't write or include / aimed at trying to get me to not write for a specific character because I don't 'do it right' - but I ignore it. It's not worth my time to focus on what anonymous people have to say about my writing or the content I choose to create.

9. do you write smut?

I do! I like to include it when the story calls for it, and not just have it be gratuitious. My characters have to work for it (unless it's a specifically smutty prompt or one shot) because I like giving them motivation for the smut if that makes sense.

10. craziest crossover?

I haven't ever written a crossover, BUT @the-blind-assassin-12 planted the seed for an Oberyn Martell / Logan Delos Thing a little while ago and I haven't stopped thinking about it.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

I haven't ever had an entire fic stolen, but I have most definitely seen other writers take parts of my stories and include them in theirs - mainly for another fandom, but it was word for word in a couple instances.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

Not translated to repost, but a few people have told me they've used Google Translate to read in their first language, so that was pretty neat!

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

HELL YEAH. Aphelion with @the-blind-assassin-12 and there's no one else I'd rather work so closely with on this story. BUT I would love to co-write something else at some point, too.

14. all time favorite ship?

Kate x Jack on LOST. They're perfect for each other and the confirmation from Evangeline a couple years ago that in her mind, Kate was pregnant the last time she left the island makes me cry.

Also, Nine/Ten and Rose on Dr. Who, and Oberyn and Ellaria.

15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I hope to finish all of my current WIPs, but if I had to choose one that might get abandoned just because of how long it's been ... I'm going to say Starlight, just because I have other ideas for Ezra that I feel more connected with.

16. what are your writing strengths?

I've been told that I'm good at immersive details, and that people enjoy my dialogue because it feels "real". I have also been told that people like my characterization. I personally feel like I'm good at writing action and tension.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

I don't think I'm particularly good with smut. I also feel like I'm too wordy sometimes, and put too much emphasis on details / things only I as a writer will care about.

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

If it benefits a story and makes sense for the characters in question, I love it. But I don't include it a lot just because if it's not a made up language like Valyrian or Mando'a, I always worry I'll use or translate things incorrectly.

Children of the Corn. I don't like to talk about it, but ... here we are.

I am insanely, obsessively proud of Just Too Good To Be Gone. I am so protective over Joel Miller and his characterization, and every single thing I've written and planned for that series is something that I stand behind - and always will. I also think that Aphelion is really special, and it's not just because it's Oberyn, but because Alyssa and I have been on the same page every step of the way and it's been really, really satisfying to watch that all come together the way it has.

972,000 and i'm going to hit a million by the end of the year! i have one co-written collab so we can subtract about 30k (ish) from that total (but with ALTA i'll still make a milly woohoo).

Always. You put in the effort to comment on my work, I'm gonna put in the effort to reply to you. I appreciate comments so much, even if they're just emojis or one line or whatever. I appreciate every single one of them (except the mean ones).

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't usually go here, but I think it has to be Contaminated (RWRB).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

99% of my fics have happy endings (except for the fic above lol) but I'd say the happiest ending is in (Un)Professional Services because they're So. In. Love. and they just *spoiler* together and they're about to *spoiler*.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Rarely and I usually ignore it or delete it (so there's no point doing it).

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

A Lot. Usually served with a heavy side of feelings - I like it when the smut drives the plot, when it helps the characters have those Oh Shit realisations. I'm also a sucker for explicit, enthusiastic consent.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I have written like 30% of a RWRB/Lone Star crossover that may never see the light of day because I keep forgetting about it.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

If I have, I don't know about it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I've had a few of my fics translated by incredible people! Phonography, Warm Whispers and Baby, Make Your Move have all been translated and can be found above. I'm fine with people translating my fics, so long as they're linked to the original and remain on ao3.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes and I love it. I want to do it more often! @rmd-writes collab was an amazing experience. i've also loved working with @dustratcentral on so many of my more unhinged works.

I don't think I can choose between Alex/Henry and TK/Carlos.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Probably that damn crossover, unless there's like significant interest in me finishing it lmao.

Oh no. giving myself a compliment help. I would say worldbuilding. dialogue/banter. gratuitous feelings during sex.

exposition. being concise. overwriting to the max @three-drink-amy (this is an attack on you as well but we are we).

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i've done it before but to be honest i'm scared to. 1) i don't want to get it wrong. 2) i don't want to annoy my very talented friends that can speak other languages by asking them 10 billion questions lol.

Love Game. I don't care that it's not as popular. it's my child. Also, ALTA (because of the many tears that went into it). We are bonded by trauma.

Weight Of The World is still missing its third and final chapter and not having finished that one drives me nuts but i just can't seem to be able to pick up on it

I am the most chaotic writer. i jump back and forth between scenes like a maniac. when inspiration hits, i'll just dive right in without ever thinking about plot lines or mapping out the 'greater picture' beforehand and yet, i always manage to bring it all together in the end (at least i hope so).

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

repetitions and the overuse of certain expressions. english isn't my first language and sometimes the lack of vocabulary for things i want to describe and write about is just frustrating. (thank fuck for OneLook Thesaurus but still)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

as a reader, I love it. Especially if it's little things in a language i understand. Maybe I'll let Eddie be fluent in German or have Steve whip out some very limited French or Portuguese in the future 😆

8. if you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?

i've already written a story without action... so writing one without dialogue would be more of a challenge. it could be a piece in which two characters are cuddling and one is asleep, or in which they've just had a nasty argument and one more word might lead to blows.

17. talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

i hate repeating myself, so please have these links in which i answer this question at length instead:

35. what’s your favorite writing rule to smash into smithereens?

'don't switch character perspectives within a scene! you shouldn't switch at all, but if you do it should only occur once a chapter/once a scene. head-hopping is bad.' oh, bollocks to that. GTFO and go challenge yourself, i beg you. go read some good 19th and 20th century english-language literature and get back to me. if there's a good reason for me to shift between brains in a scene, i will do it; and you, gentle reader, will be none the wiser. you also won't be calling it 'head-hopping', because it shouldn't feel jarring if done well.

most writing 'rules' aren't, really. at best, they're guidelines to help you target your writing for specific audiences. for every prescriptivist so-called rule, i can find ten published pieces of fine english lit that blithely ignore it. the one i smash ignore most often in my writing on this blog is... 'proper' capitalization. i'm sure it annoys some people, but my writing isn't for them.

4. Give me Raisins Girls! I think they're neat and seeing them in FBW was fun. I'd like to see them shown in their normal 'not on the job' personalities. Plus... I just want the girls to have more scenes no matter what.

5. I answered this but non-continuity! The silly plots were just fun :(. I miss seeing them go on weird trips or getting attacked by aliens, etc.

6. I'm ngl, I miss Officer Barbrady. He was a shitty police officer, but he was funny and at least cared about people and the job (even if he was kinda dumb).

8. Queen Hen <3. I love her badass self. I really hope we get to see more of her after her prevalent role in Snow Day and even getting her FBW DLC.

14. C... Can I say Gary? I'm gonna say Gary Harrison. Yes, yes... I know he had an episode and vanished but I DO think seeing his personality and how he functions in South Park(if he didn't move) after telling Stan off would have been a really interesting plot point. Especially considering cartman clearly thought he was cool after that (not like that matters much but still).

17. I'm gonna be an outlier and say- GIVE ME BLOODRAYNE!! (Katie Gelson). I am obsessed with her and I wanna see my vamp girl :(. I wanna know her personality and such so bad cuz she seems neat and I love her character model and interactions from FBW.

18. Space! I'd love to see them play with weird aliens and planetary battles. And not just the greys- just explore various models and the boys go to various "planets" (real or imagined) to do battles and such. I also do not want it to be like Snow Day- I want it to be SoT or FBW style of play.

21. Laura Tucker <3. She's one of the good ones, and just seems like a genuinely loving mom. Ignoring her crazy Ozempic Special stuff...otherwise she just seems like a good one.

22. Thomas Tucker(Can you tell who my fave parents are). He definitely has faults as it was hinted he cheated or at least was on dating sites, plus he killed a guinea pig(supposedly), but lmaoo. In terms of *parenting*, he's so good. He came around to Craig and made him feel okay with himself, and I will forever love that about him.

Chapter Two of JTTOU (Just The Two Of Us) woo :D

Etho’s POV this time :) (for future reference, chapters that are odd numbers- eg chapter one- are BDubs’ POV, and chapters that are even numbers are Etho’s POV)

Etho was reading in his bedroom when he heard the unwelcome sound of knocking on his door. After looking around and coming to the conclusion that there was nowhere he could hide (and pretend he wasn't there), the white haired prince sighed, sitting up and closing his book over. "Come in!" He called, trying to sound like he hadn't been actively avoiding talking to whoever it was.

The door opened to reveal the even more unwelcome sight of a woman with long white/gray hair, dark gray eyes, an overly extravagant red satin dress with ruby embroidery and an excessively shiny golden crown with circles of amber and ruby embedded in it. His mother, the queen of Xobrazia.

"You shouldn't spend so much time reading, you know, there are much better hobbies." The woman commented.

Etho nodded, gritting his teeth slightly. "I'm aware that's what you think, Mother, but I find it quite enjoyable." He said, adjusting the mask that covered his mouth and nose.

"Still." She glanced around with a disdainful expression.

"Why are you here, Mother?" Etho interrupted her with a yawn. "You hardly ever make the time to actually show your face."

"About that... I've been noticing that you haven't been being incredibly productive with the way you use your time, and I figured I could get someone- a servant- to assist you. General Symmetry's brigade recently discovered and captured a group of those... crossbreeds." Hybrids. The prince corrected her silently. "One of General Symmetry's new squires, a boy called Scar, made a very valid point- that it would make more sense to put some of them to work rather than killing them all. I was thinking that one of them could be a servant of sorts to help you be more productive."

"Like... an assistant?" 'Servant' implies that they're getting paid, Mother, Etho thought with an internal eye roll.

"Servant. They could take care of simple tasks that might take up your time- like managing letters you receive from citizens, and reporting back to me on how you make use of your newly gained free time- so that you can be more productive. A future king shouldn't spend all day in his room reading and drawing." The queen added with a somewhat disappointed expression.

"So... an assistant." Etho repeated wryly, ignoring the last part of what his mother had said.

"Servant." His mother repeated stubbornly, smiling icily. "I have a list of some of the more agreeable ... cross-breeds that were captured. Namely, the ones that didn't try to attack any of our knights. I'll be generous- you may choose which one will be your servant." She handed him a scroll with hastily written notes that Etho quickly recognised as General Symmetry's (or False Symmetry, if he was using her first name) handwriting. He scanned the list quietly.

Etho frowned slightly. Jeez, how many were there? That's like... an alarming amount of hybrids, compared to the amount that have been found over the last few years. He paused, shivering slightly under his mother's impatient gaze. "Uh... the second one?" Florans are the plant ones, right? Like- they control plants?

"Of course. I'll send Stress up with him later." The woman said, referring to Etho's friend Stress, a brunette who nearly always had flowers in her hair who worked as a maid in the palace. "Hopefully you'll be more... productive with your time now." His mother added, looking the prince up and down with an unimpressed expression that made the white haired boy want to punch her in the mouth. "Well, that's all. I'll be going now."

Etho waved halfheartedly as the queen left, getting up to close the door behind her before lying back on his bed and opening the book again.

Etho glanced up as the door opened, brightening slightly as Stress walked in. "Oh- Stress! Hi!"

She smiled slightly. "Prince Etho."

"You don't need to be formal, Stress, my mother isn't here." The white haired boy said with a laugh.

"I was just being formal in front of our... guest. Your mother told me to bring him down here. He's your new assistant." Etho smiled slightly under his mask at the term Stress used, and he opened his mouth to speak before stopping and staring as a boy with an incredibly annoyed expression followed her into the room.

The Floran hybrid was a bit shorter than both Stress and Etho, and he had curly brown hair, tanned skin and freckles scattered across his face. He had (rather pretty) heterochromic brown and green eyes, and a small flower tucked behind his ear. The boy also had an odd, dark green tattoo-like pattern on his neck that reminded Etho of criss-crossing flowers and vines.

"Oh. Uh... it's... nice to meet you." Etho said quietly, and the boy rolled his eyes, muttering something under his breath. "My name is Prince Etho. But you can just call me Etho, no need for the formalities-" The prince added hastily as the brunette shot him a skeptical look. Etho watched as Stress quietly left the room before looking back at the person stood in front of him. "What's your name?"

The boy with heterochromic eyes glared at him, meeting Etho's gaze for the first time. "Why do you care? I'm just a 'servant', right?" He said mockingly. Wow, even if he's mocking me, his voice is- cute- cool. Cool, not cute.

"Well, I was just being nice." Etho pointed out.

"Humans? Being nice? Yeah, no, doesn't sound that accurate." The Floran hybrid snapped. I can't even say he's wrong- one of our brigades did just basically destroy his entire village.

"I mean, I'd like to think that I'm different from other humans." Etho said slowly, frowning slightly. "Come on, just tell me your name- I really want to know now."

The other boy paused. "Not that it's any of your business, but... my name is BDubs."

of course!!! i'm a little slow at it (laziness and forgetfulness is a deadly combo) but i love answering comments as much as i love receiving them <3

i struggled to choose, but probably Bat Country. my man Steve's going through some shit rn

i'm not 100% sure if that counts, but i was thinking of Lack (not TOH). it's the closest i have to a happy ending imo

8. Do you get hate on fics?

never quite hate, just unwarranted criticism when i was 15 and not looking for that. i don't think the person had malicious intent, but they were still annoying af lol

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

depends on my mood (and i definitely haven't posted a lot of it), but sometimes i do!! it's either very vanilla and emotional or very kinky, almost no in-between, but in both cases there's a lot more talking than action ahah

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

not a very crazy one, but i have a wip of a Steven Universe/The Owl House crossover!! Steven ends up in Gravesfield during his trip throughout the country and meets the Hexsquad, shenanigans ensue <3

a while ago, someone translated one of my fics in Spanish!! i can't remember which one tho, i think it was an old Undertale fic from my wattpad but i'm not 100% sure

no, i've had some friends beta-reading old fics but that's as close as it gets to co-written

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

hhhh idk :(( either Gustholomule or Luberto, they're both so silly and i'm weak for young, awkward love

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

way too many, i honestly can't choose

16. What are your writing strengths?

definitely dialogues, i know i'm good at making characters interact, whether it's fluff or good ol' angst

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

definitely descriptions of... well, basically anything. my english is alright, but sometimes i tend to go "there was [this], it was [that]" ad nauseam and it gets pretty boring. i feel like i can't get people into the setting like i'd want to

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

it's alright if done correctly. i never had the opportunity to use french in one of my fics, but the way i had to ignore bad use of french in random dialogues annoyed the shit out of me

19. First fandom you wrote for?

my first fandom was Salut Les Geeks, a shitass youtube show a la Ray William Johnson, and i was OBSESSED with the characters (and the whole show in general bc 14 yo me had bad taste). please don't ask me about this

20. Favourite fic you've ever written? 

Bat Country again!! i put a lot of effort and love into it (and a tiny bit of projection), and despite the couple mistakes in it, i'm very happy with the result, especially how i portray the characters. plus it's inspired by one of my favorite songs by a7x <3 (that you should definitely check out if you like metal!!)

3. What fandoms do you write for? I've dabbled in quite a few over the years, but the ones I've written the most fics for are doctor who (eleven/amy) teen wolf (sterek) and the owl house (huntlow)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Every kind comment means so much to me, so I always take the time to respond to all of them (though I'm not always great at getting to them on time.)

Hmm probably The Courtesan and the Writer (doctor who | eleven/amy) I used to dabble in angst a bit more when I first started writing fic, but these days all my fics are pretty much guaranteed to have a happy ending, because real life is hard enough lol

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Pretty much all my fics have happy endings, but one of the happiest I wrote would probably be my huntlow college AU Until You Meet Someone Who Makes The Fall Feel Like Flying

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I wouldn't call it outright hate, but I have gotten a handful of rude comments over the years (complaining that I don't post often enough, telling me my headcanons are wrong, telling me how they think my story should have ended — one time someone yelled at me in all caps because I said that a character chilled red wine lol that one was wild)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! Smut is fun. Mine is typically more focused on the emotional aspect than the physical, is usually the result of a long tension-fueled slow burn buildup, and is usually tooth-rottingly fluffy, soft, and sweet.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I have! Back in the days where superwholock plagued tumblr, I wrote one of the silliest cross-overs imaginable, combining doctor who, torchwood, bbc sherlock, supernatural, the avengers, and sleepy hollow: Lords, Gods, and Madmen

I have! But most of them never saw the light of day 😂 one that did is called An Eggcellent Morning For Cooking Lessons co-written with @ash-mcj @tails89 and @nutellarghh

I think my top three ships are reflected in who I've written the most fic for: huntlow, sterek, and the eleventh doctor/amy pond

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Luckily, everything that's posted to AO3 is finished, but at this point I'm thinking I'll probably never get around to writing the little nightmares, reylo, and captain swan WIPs I've had sitting in my drafts since 2019

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've been told I capture the characters really well, which means a lot to me. I've also been told that my writing is cozy and comforting and fills people with warm fuzzy feelings, which is always nice to hear 🥰

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I will sit there and agonize over the same paragraph trying to make it sound perfect instead of just letting the writing flow, so sometimes a fic will be in the works for a very long time until it's finally ready to be posted (by which time I'm probably sick of it and never want to look at it again 😂)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've dabbled in this a little bit, but it's usually been plot-relevant, like a character learning to speak the language (i.e. when Hunter tried to learn Spanish in Being Human.) When I do write in another language, I always do my best to research and try to get the translations as accurate as possible, and I always include the English translation either in the fic itself or as an author's note so readers don't have to break away from my fic to google anything. (And also so that they know what my intention was, on the off-chance I translated something wrong and accidentally wrote something offensive.) 19. First fandom you wrote for?

Does anyone remember that vampire show that came out back in like 2009? Moonlight? Yeah, that one lol

Angst:

1. "You're not a bad guy" With Druig, after the two of you left the rest of the Eternals with the people

2. "I thought I wanted this" with Kingo, reader thought he/she/they could date someone as famous as Kingo but it's just not working out

3. "How much longer will this last!" With Pietro Maximoff, this could be like- idk before hydra were reader is dating Pietro and she/he/they are sick of him stealing things and committing crimes (because it is canon that he Steals in the movies)

4. "I can't see a way out" With father figure!Gilgamesh, reader with earth powers accidentally looses control and makes the house them and Gilgamesh are in fall down but like It didn't crush them and now their trying to push all the rocks and pieces of the house off of them and get out from under it

5. "Why do you hate me" with Druig, something lovers to enemies with him

6. "You said you'd never leave me!" With father figure!frank castle, Frank's dark past catches up with him... once again

7. "If you leave, don't even think about coming back!" With Druig, Druig thinks reader is better off without him

8. "If we did it my way, the deviant would be dead already!!" With Kingo, Kingo has been having a hard day and accidentally takes it out on reader

9. "Would you please just let me in!" with either just Frank castle or father figure!frank castle, Frank shows up at readers apartment/reader and his shared apartment with bloody knuckles and a bruised face and reader tries to ask him whats wrong just for Frank to ignore reader and lock himself in the bathroom, which for obvious reasons worries reader

10: *in morning voice* "Watcha doing?" With Druig, Druig wakes up to reader pepper kissing his face

11. "We have a problem" with father figure!frank castle, if you do write this PLEASE make reader say this to father figure Frank, he's probably so done with reader

12. "I need your help" with father figure!Gilgamesh, maybe reader got into trouble with some bad people or after a deviant attack reader got hurt but Ajak is busy tending to other people

13. "I thought you said you wouldn't fall inlove" with Kingo, reader and Kingo have been doing long distance but they have been getting through it, but Kingo was always surrounded by such beautiful women it was hard to not fall out of love with a person he didn't see everyday

14. "I need her/him/them to be ok" with father figure!frank castle, maybe something bad happens between Billy and reader and Frank says this to Micro

15. "Its killing me that you don't love me the way you love her" with Druig, reader realizes that Druig was falling out of love with them and that he was falling inlove with Makkari

16. "Maybe you should give up" with Pietro, maybe this could be like a enemies to lovers thing were Pietro is now a hero and part of the avengers and reader is a villain and they have to fight

17. "I'm tired of running" with father figure!frank castle, Frank can't risk reader getting hurt because of him but reader doesn't think they need a "babysitter"

18. "May both sides of your pillow be warm, goodnight!" *slams door* with father figure!frank castle, this is more on the fluff side but oh well, reader is to scared to actually insult Frank so they come up with stupid insults to insult him with

19. "Its three in the morning, what are you- Y/N!" with Kingo, reader decides to come visit Kingo (their former boyfriend) on his bollywood set, just for reader to find out he's been cheating on them

20. "What are you thinking about?" With Druig, Druig just confessed his feelings for reader and reader doesn't know how to react

Fluff:

1. "I'm never letting go" with Kingo, Kingo wants reader to stay in bed and cuddle so he wraps his whole body around them so they don't leave

2. "Do you have a ride home" with father figure!frank castle, a guy starts harassing reader, Frank takes care of it and offers reader a ride home

3. I can't imagine a universe in which I don't adore you" with Druig, reader gets insecure about Druigs relationship with Makkari and reader tries telling him, he should leave them for Makkari

4. "We'll get through this, I promise" with Kingo, reader and kingo are doing long distance and reader starts having doubts

5. "I think it's adorable how easy you blush" with Druig, Druig teasing his s/o as usual

6. "If you're cold why didn't you say something, come here" with Pietro maximoff, so I have a headcanon that he is a human heater due to all his running so I think this goes well for him

7. "I guess time flies when you're with someone you love" "you love me!?" With Kingo, reader was oblivious to Kingo having a crush on them which made Kingo frustrated so one day he just says it

8. "Would you stop stealing the freaking blankets!" With Kingo, PLS THIS SCREAMS KINGO

9. "My hands are cold" with Kingo, Kingo likes holding readers hands so he decides to make up stupid excuses just for them to do it

10. "Why didn't you tell me you were sick?" With father figure!frank castle, I just know this man gets so protective when his loved ones are sick

11. "Will you still be here tomorrow?" With Druig, reader has trust issues

12. "I'm making breakfast :)" with Kingo, Kingo has always taken care of reader so reader decides that their gonna take care of Kingo

13. "You make me feel something I've never felt before" with Pietro, Pietro is so used to being a man whore but then he met you...

14. "You're really gonna kiss me. Right. Now?!" With Kingo, Kingo and reader are sparring but that doesn't stop Kingo from being flirty with reader

15. "It's scary how much I love you" with Druig, Druig wasn't used to love but then you became one of the Eternals and it was love at first sight

16. *in sign language* "Kiss me you coward" with Makkari, whenever you and Makkari are about to kiss she keeps getting scared and speeding away

17. "Why are we always interrupted" with Kingo, Kingo and reader have been trying to have their romantic moment together on valentines day but everytime they try to be alone, one of the other Eternals interrupts them

18. "I swear to arisham steal my food one more time-" with Druig, Druig keeps stealing readers food

19. "Don't. You. Dare" "Watch me" with Pietro, Pietro and reader like pissing eachother off

20. "Pull over. Let me drive for awhile" with frank castle, reader and Frank are on the run and since they're on the road, alone... for a long time... that can sometimes lead to arguments. But they always make it up to eachother

21. "It reminded me of you" with Pietro, Pietro Steals something for you that reminded him of you

22. "No no, it's on me" with father figure Frank castle, Frank buys something for reader and reader tries to pay him back
