i'm gonna reinforce my 2x2 kallax first but i have a hankering to get a betta in my room. i'd prefer a 3g not to fuck w/ weight limits (site claims to go up to 55lb on top) but i'm gonna try to swing a 5g if possible b/c i also prefer it for the lil guy. arguably unpopular opinion but i think that - depending on the betta - a 3gal isn't ideal but can be sufficient enough to maintain a good quality of life for the fish as long as you keep an eye on the parameters etc.

idk. like considering less and less people can afford spacious living spaces that can accommodate bigger tanks, if a heated & filtered 3-4g is easier to find and set up, then that's 1 less betta languishing in a dirty cup somewhere. at a certain point you gotta take your Ws where you can, esp since bettas are already subjected to terrible living conditions all the time w/ people surprised that they died so fast.

anyway i got some neons for the 29gal and i forgot how silly these fish are. so anxious. same. i love them.
