god the narrator's last speech in tspud hits so different when you're an artist and have gotten used to letting fiction run your life
#catch me scream sobbing at the lines 'i suppose it's grown old. i want to think for myself again'#and 'oh but he was so much fun to play with'#i'm inconsolable#like i love partaking in fiction- fandom or otherwise#but man i'm like#i get it#it ties into his rambling speech in the slip button ending 'but the game wasn't meant to be funny....'#like yes!!!! to distract from the horrors of life we have let entertainment become our lives#and like while i get it's a critique of those who take media too seriously and need to express all of their opinions on said entertainment#god it just hits as a creator#both of these monologues are just masterpieces#i'm devastated i wasnt around when tspud was just released i feel a lil late#but in a way this is a good thing#it's a wake up call for me in a way like hey there's more out there don't immerse yourself in fiction to the point#that your decision-making and self is compromised to new ideas etc#this is meant to be a vent post?? just to catalogue the absolute emotion i felt finishing this game#but if someone reading this is a creator in any form this game is great#the skip button ending/epilogue are a gorgeous way to wrap up these concepts#and the narrator leaving/disappearing from the parable rips at my heart bc of just so many reasons#even if it's just tragic in every sense of the word#again i'm inconsolable#words to the void
