I saw a Buffy gifset where Spike made the joke, “I ate a decorator once, maybe something stuck.” and this is 100% not an original concept but now I am fascinated with the idea of vampires just absorbing or keeping some part of their victims, like iZombie (TV) when Liv eats the brains and picks up traits from the person, except permanently.

like, can you imagine if every time one of the BTVS vamps drank from someone, they kept a piece of them? Sure, this has some deeply tragic or heartbreaking potential, especially with the souled vamps,

Angel drank from Buffy, so now sometimes he randomly speaks like a valley girl and is very upset because he can’t do SHIT about it
