Well, I'm a little late to the post (randomly popped up on my fyp) How would you rank your enjoyment of the different life series and why? Also are smores your favourite food or not, if not, I will be mad (jk jk)

hard question, I love them all, but here’s my attempt at an answer. also, I am in the group of folks who tries to keep up with multiple pov’s, but im also very busy, so mostly I just end up watching grian’s, so that will effect my answers

third life - the og, if i hear any hate for third life, i will rip and tear and bite, twas the beginning of something so fantastic. There’s a reason Desert Duo and Flower Husbands and RenWood and such are still terms that get thrown around in fan discussions today, an icon of a season. 10/10

last life - if I’m ever to forget the major occurrences of any of the life series’, it would be last life, it’s probably the lowest on my list because of that, there are tons of great moments, and the introduction of the boogeyman was great, it just stuck with me less than the others 7/10

double life - YES YES 1000X YES. I’m not brave enough to say it’s my favorite, but just. Watch the Everen animatic for double life on repeat for 13 hours and try to come back to me telling me you’re normal about double life. You can’t. If you can, you’re lying. The angst factor was up to 100 when they decided to make double life. And every pairing in there was iconic. 100/10

limited life - I feel like when I finally get around to watching martyns pov for limited life, I’ll be able to enjoy it more, for now, it’s still highly ranked, it’s just not as highly ranked bc the gimmick wasn’t as gripping from a them actually playing stance. Loved all the timepieces and symbolism in the artwork, and I mean, bad boys, ties, nosey neighbors, the family, the mean gills, all icons in their own right, just. There wasn’t much change to the gameplay imo. 8/10

secret life - so I have been able to watch scars pov for this one and just. 😭😭😭😭the ending, with the “she’s dead, scar. you won” and the “how did the guy with no friends win” and just. AAAAAHHHHH I wanted to eat my own teeth it would’ve been less painful than that. You’ll note that the ones with more angst factor are higher rated in this list, it just gets all the creative folks going feral and I love seeing it and occasionally trying to be a part of it, anyways, yea, we’ll say 50/10

wild life - not a fully formed opinion yet because the series isn’t finished, but this is the most gimmick we’ve ever gotten and I am soo here for it! Put these creatures into situations!! I have been consistently watch both grian and rens POVs for this one since grian uploads a lot later than most of the others (+ I keep up w sarez and jimmy’s reactions to sarez (keep the nickels coming, reddit folks, I ain’t there, but I support you)) and really just. I need to watch more of ren is what I’ve learned from this, he makes everything fun. We’ll say 9/10, subject to change as the series progresses

bonus: real life - such a good April fools episode, 10/10 for being hilarious and putting them folks in funny little situations (this is separate from my other ratings, I still like actual canon seasons more than real life)

and for the second question, s’mores are fantastic, definitely in the top, but I don’t think I can say they’re my number one favorite food, just because there’s so many foods out there. the blog name came from the first friend I ever came out to saying that my chosen name reminded them of a smore and then proceeding to call me smore friend around folks I wasn’t comfortable being out to as a way to not deadname while still keeping stuff under wraps.

OK I lied one last thing because I just activated my brain bc like I need to know how a Cog actually dies when they endlessly repair themselves even when burnt to a crisp and then Atticus dies to a cannon shot and it's a big deal and now i hear his husband is implied to be dead but I can't remember seeing it anywhere was it in stuff I wasn't there for?? Omg I don't know but establishing cog death as a concept but then never doing anything about it and it's swept under the rug and now currently nobody knows what's gonna be canon or not and I'M JUST

i do wonder what age group the manger cogs would be first placed in besides childhood. since i kinda doubt it would be great idea to bring a robot to life and already treat them like an adult even tho their intelligents has yet to understand the world. so maybe teen to young adult?

in bed + it's 3 am currently so it won't be a very lengthy response - but yeah! I imagine the growth upgrades are gradual and go through life stages.

so like you've said I'd imagine it young child, preteen, teen, young adult and adult. wait aren't these just the sims life categories I forgot lol?? anyways yeah.

I imagine during this process they get different hardware upgrades to help them learn more and do more things... Perhaps more personalized now that they're figuring themselves out as a person. But i imagine the parents can have a lot of power over this if they want to.

Also them growing may just be adjusting themselves to bigger size skelecog just to give the impression of growth? Who knows how these sizes are picked for cogs anyway. Though obviously larger sizes would probably be more expensive but also a sign of power. maybe depending on your skelecog type you can't switch between them... Just the available sizes. Like if you have a buff skelecog type you can't switch to skinny or fat skelecog type. perhaps these body types are all that's there in common with some differences and customizations - but the base generally stays the same. heads are the most customizable possibly!

it's still a mystery to me how cogs are made. Who were the first cogs. How they decided on all of this... But I suppose that's for me to fill in now isn't it? Or... Keep purposefully vague, not everything needs an explanation. Would be good to have some, though!

It's wacky stuff but.. Back on the point - yea I imagine it'd be gradual.

also, off topic, but one day I hope to talk about my back up memory chip headcanons because it's the only thing that keeps me sane with the whole Atticus death plot hole. I love you so so dearly what an excellent character but holy shit that execution I'm. Uh. Yeah.. Let's just say I like lost my voice several times in vc bc this is a topic I get so passionate to infodump about...! (BECAUSE I CARE TTCC BUT I CRITICAL OF HYPERFIX AND IMAGINE FIXES)

1. astronomer seishi has 100% eaten a bath bomb at some point in his life, at the urging of shiori. he couldn’t help it, listen, it had sprinkles! it looked so good! he had to be taken to the hospital immediately afterwards RIP

2. he watched the alien movies when he was six because he was interested in space and he didn’t think they’d be that scary, and also they were just on at the time. he couldn’t sleep for weeks afterwards, but surprisingly, this wasn’t enough to crush his love for astronomy! 

3. for a while after the killing game, seishi couldn’t sleep alone. he had to have someone be there, be it akira, marin, shiori, hikaru or tsuki (even though she’s a robot, she still counts of course! :’0) (and her purr function is pretty comforting too ;w;) 

4. sometimes akira and marin talk about coding together, and even collaborate on projects sometimes. seishi has no idea what they’re talking about, but he loves hearing them so excited, so he usually listens in anyway and acts as their snack/water boy when they’re working really hard on something aaaaa

5. you know those little glow in the dark stars you can get for your room? seishi 100% has those all over his walls and ceiling. it’s partially because he lives for the space aesthetic, and partially because he’s deathly afraid of the dark lmao 

pregame drrb (rin’s posts, + marin and seishi) 

1. seishi’s super attached to his monomi plushy, even bringing her to school for a while until some bullies threatened to destroy her. he still adores her, though, and sometimes he talks to her to soothe himself 

2. most of the fanfics seishi would write for danganronpa involved talentswaps he created with marin, and they were often really long and explored how the different talents/personalities would cause different murders to happen. stuff like that’s always really fascinated him, and it was part of the reason why marin was able to get him into the series uwu 

3. seishi has 100% has cosplays of chiaki and mikan! he just….hasn’t worn them in public, because he’s too afraid to. he also wants a kyouko cosplay, but he has to save up for it. meanwhile, marin also has a chiaki cosplay, as well as a sonia cosplay, and they met ayumu at a con because he was wearing a nagito cosplay :0 

4. seishi’s online friends with a username of stardust-nico-xo who also writes fic for danganronpa! she writes a lot of poetic-y f/f stuff and seishi really appreciates her style. it took him like forever to actually work up the nerve to talk to her outside of fic reviews though RIP (if you couldn’t tell already it’s one himuro nico haha) 

5. occasionally, after a really hard day, seishi will invite marin over for comfort’s sake. sometimes though he’ll start to cry, and one time as a spur of the moment decision marin picked up his monomi plush and started talking to him in character until he started to calm down. it’s kinda become a ritual for them now if he gets really worked up and otherwise inconsolable and yes this headcanon is really self-indulgent let me have this okay i’m ;o;

sdr2-drrb talent shift (+ outfits if you guys are interested) 

1. at some point seishi totally wears chiaki’s swimsuit yes i just wanna see him in a bikini shut up okay? and all of his classmates are confused as to why he wants to wear a “girl’s” bathing suit. he just tells them that he wants to feel pretty lol (may or may not have a fic i wanna write about this scenario but ssshh) 

2. as mentioned in the outfit doc, misuzu has a dragon tattoo on her back. at one point she brings this up to seishi and he gets really excited at the thought (he just thinks it’s neat!) and asks if he can see it. at first she thinks he’s hitting on her though which leads to some. awkwardness lmao but like,, oh, honey….no–

3. akira’s music is a mix of emo rock and screamo. basically think mcr and [insert popular screamo band idk i don’t listen to that genre lmao]. he also sings for the group like ibuki does in chapter 3 and while it scares the absolute crap out of seishi, ayumu’s actually kinda into it. he’s emo leave him alone pfft 

4. i’d like to think that marin, maiko, and nico have a love triangle-ish, ot3 dynamic, kinda like gundham, kazuichi and sonia except healthier and with less stalking lmao 

5. like fuyuhiko, misuzu also wanted kasumi to leave their master-swords woman dynamic behind while being on the island. however, kasumi is much more manic and even less socially inclined than peko, so she pretty much botches that plan immediately when seishi and ayumu introduce themselves to the two of them and she pulls her sword on them :’)
