Never healing wounds.
convinced myself I was alone.
word count: 535
warnings: animal violence, threats.
a/n: Luke Castellan's POV. First draft.
Another night without an ounce of sleep, because the summer air costumes itself as the warmth of Thalia's fingers wrapped around my arm when we hid together. And I can't both breathe and drawn on the shame. I was not enough to save her.
I draw the bow I borrowed, using the moonlight as a guide.
The best swordman in the last 300 hundred years. Yeah, get the last one for me and I'll show him why I'm tired of his fucking shadow. Distracting myself with just a dumb title to forget why I even pretend to care. She left it all for me. Us. And Annabeth is still here, and new children come every year. Everyone needs this guy. He's so much fucking fun. Worth dying over, apparently.
So die.
I shot without a warn and didnt move until the bird smashed itself on the ground. And as it's blood drained onto the dirt mine started flowing through my veins like it hadn't for a long time. I felt like myself again, just a moment. When survival meant killing, in a way, every day. To eat, to breathe, regret.
I kill myself everyday for them to live. Watch me care.
And watching me she was. I wasn't sure if I wanted to bother with awknowledgment or explanations. She was kinda nuts on her own way but never spoke out of place. Maybe she would just go back to cabin eleven, twirl her hair for another edgy prick's attention and leave me alone this once.
I hoped.
And I was wrong for doing so.
"Why?" She asked, seating nearby on the floor.
It almost made me laugh. She had a way of sucking with words that made me wonder if maybe it was me who didn't tuned in correctly. Always lacking some fundamental sense. She made me feel like I was going mad. And for cringy it felt to think, just her presence made me wanna punch a wall, a sweet way to say, strangle the voice out of her throat until the lack of air turned off the last of her half-assed idiotic thoughts forever.
"Why what?" I asked prepping for the next blow.
"Why not just use your hands?"
'It doesn't scratch me right' was my first thought. Did it even make sense? Was it even true? It was a weird question to make so I shouldn't worry that much anout a good answer. Still I did, I kept trying to aim as an excuse to not speak yet. And eventually I had no running away. "It would feel inhuman." I admitted, maybe to myself before shooting the nest.
"You aren't one." She said, and when I turned to look at her over my shoulder, she was fixed on the broken eggs like I was a moment ago. I wasn't human she said, and somehow I was many people's favorite.
"I'm at least a half." Was my first clever retort as I tried to not let her words dig too deep in my thoughts.
"So, less than one."
"I'm never 'less than'" And silence.
My night was already spoiled so I went to retrieve the arrows, put it all back on it's place, run away, hide under my sheets and never truly sleep. To wake up tomorrow and held a funeral for the bird on the floor after some camper reaches for me with teary eyes. Bury it deeply with the guilt and shame, wash it from my hands in front of everyone, and be a hero like every other day.
"Can I shoot?" She stopped me.
"I'll rather have someone teach you on daylight" Literally anyone at any point that isn't me and isn't now.
"But if I wait I'll get no chance of it being you will I?" At least she didn't played dumb. I had to sigh either way though. Was she so bad at getting cues. Yes. It won't ever be me If I have a choice, still I smiled, I wasn't a stone.
"Not my grounds, no."
"Then just guide me like they do in romances."
"Why exactly?"
"It'll make me feel alive."

how was jmn being there in person for jk's birthday "celebrating for army" when we didnt even see jmn? even jk being w jimin on white day last year-that wasn't for army, silver day this year-they rented out that restaurant for just the 2 of them on a couples holiday, like ??
then that vid of them posted on valentines day way back in 2017 (wearing matching clothes mind you which is a typical couple thing in korea as we know), why is this all so easily excusable? we'd be ecstatic if jk was doing these things w tae (at least i would).
i mean, who spends couple holidays with them & their partner's mutual friend instead of their partner?? that's weird.. the jk/jmn thing is getting weird for me now idk. i'm just not seeing the same coincidences between him and tae. not at the same level. so they went to a premier, so what? we'd say so what if jmn & jk did that too.
and as for the seaweed soup thing i'd be inclined to believe you if jk had ever said his mum has done the same for any other members but he hasn't. it's always jmn. i'm sorry but being from busan is not enough :/
do you have any examples of things hes done exclusively w/for tae? couple related? anything! struggling here :(
Hi anon!
Without wanting to make you feel bad, but you're kinda making me feel like it is on me to convince you. That is not my job you know. Believing in something has to come from within you, not from me. I am more than willing to explain my views, but please just see me as a person... not some Taekook emergency call.
My believe in Tae and Jk comes from how they interact, how their bodies respond to each other, how their knowledge about the other is, how they'r always aware of the other... not from what I know of their outings and material gestures with the other. We can't know those things, because it's hidden. But.. if you do find those things meaningfull, if the last few months (ever since solo era really) have shown us anything, it's that Tae and Jk spend more time together. They are the two members who have mentioned each other the most in regards to private matters, they have publicly hung out the most... even Jkkrs are nervous and aware of that.
How is hanging with friends on a couple day romantic? If anything I'd say they were all not doing something with their partners (or single) and decided to just hang together then. I see little use on overanalyzing details like this, when the whole to me points in a diffreent direction. I see no romance between Jk and Jimin. Their bodylanguage and their awareness of each other is very different from that between Tae and Jk. That is really all I need to know that Jimin and Jk hanging out during some couples holidays isn't in a romantic context.
I'm sure this isn't enough for you... but I am unable to just transfer my believe to you.

Now see, my exboyfriend works with me, he sits in the other room really close so I hear his voice all the time. He has also convinced me to stay his friend. Why would I say yes? So many reasons. I put conditions on it first and foremost. I will be your friend until you start dating again. He believes that by the time he finds my replacement my feelings will have changed and I won't care anymore. Yeah, I didn't date him for his people smarts. There is no way in hell I'm going to be ok with that. Another reason I said ok to friendship is because he has no friends. He has his mom and he's grooming his son for future friend but the kids not old enough yet. Also, as his friend I can ask him questions. Why is that important? I am often curious about the human psyche and his is so unique that I end up pondering a lot of different things that only he can answer. And he tries his best but many of my questions he never really thought about. But he's thinking now and with his personality he'll keep thinking until he figures something out. Being his friend means I can keep him around while I kill these feelings for him. When I miss something it's pretty strong and makes me text stupid things. I can cold turkey a lot of things but not nicotine and not him.
I dont understand why this particular male is hard to let go of. I'm sure it has something to do with being my first after my divorce. And the fact he's younger and pretty. And that he chose me before I had even noticed him in that way.
My story with him began like a dumb romance novel. I have hated the idea of romance and love and soulmates and all that bullshit they peddle to women to make sure they are never satisfied with their partners for close to 10 years. Love is like autism, there's a whole spectrum thing. And I didnt want butterflies in my stomach or my heart to race. That simply feels like anxiety to me. If I HAD been looking for someone romantically then I wanted a man who makes me WANT to wake up the next day just so I can see them again.
When I walked through the door at work and he would smile and gaze at me..and his gaze from before... I'm afraid to meet his eyes now. I dont want to see it gone from his eyes. I will never survive if I see it directed at another. What is "it"? I dont really know. It sparkled, which is dumb even for me to type. The stupid man made this cynical woman see sparkling eyes. He was dangerous...its a good thing it's over.
I miss him.

My BG3 review
Full disclosure: Havent finished the game yet, currently deeply into act 3 but not yet reached a true ending, Act 1 is good at getting you invested and setting up a solid narrative foundation, but is actually sort-of bad at telling players which characters are playable. I legitimately didnt find the vampire until i wanted to go through the mountains and the game prompted me to grind for EXP lest i get my ass stomped, and was convinced that the druid was a camp-buddy like Withers, Scratch or the Baby Owlbear instead of a full-blown partymember. Also the Tiefling Party is weird? The option to romance characters at that moment felt weirdly early, and it didnt comunicate properly that you'd have the option to say no right now and pursue them later should your character come to like them in the future. So I as a player felt really put on the spot. (I regret making my character pick a romance in that moment. But I did see they could come to like Karlach in the future and didnt want to be locked out of it. In hindsight i regret picking romance) Act 2 is bad at telling you where to go. the Cursed Lands are drab, boring and have little in the way of recognisable landmarks, and the quest to un-curse the land requires you enter a random room in the inn to talk to a stranger unprompted and uninvited. I basically spent act 2 lost as fudge, unaware of anything that was going on and only met any of Throms kids after i finished the questline because the town they live in looked like a generic ghosttown that couldn't possibly have antying more to offer then more generic shadowmonsters. Act 3 is bad, like crumbling under its own weight bad. Questlines are interwoven with eachother in ways that basically force you to quit a quest half-way to get on with the another quest they dont actually tell you where to find. (the Gondians) and so many of the quests feel like sudden timers? (first it's "rig the printing press before tonight or be slandered", then its "be quick or Orin kills Zevlor without warning", then it's "You dont know how long you have before Orin kills the Hostage" followed by "defeat the Farslayer in 5 turns or less" and "stage a prisonbreakout in less then a single in-world minute). A lot of the quest objectives in Act 3 feel like annoying time-gimicks. Meanwhile the Act 3 Recruit can only be recruited after going far enough into the sewer to trigger the Hostage, yet refers to the hostage as if they've been allies a long time. Gale refers to Raphaels Contract as a signed thing when I refused to make a contract and just came home from a long day of KILLING HIM IN HELL, and Vos just WONT SPAWN so Lae'zel's questline is actually unfinishable. Act 3 falls apart on a script level as a result of its own attempts at complexity, and makes the world incredibly unbelievable as a result. Act 1 feels like the set-up for a brilliant game, Act 2 feels bad and lost. Act 3 just plain sucks to the point im not certain i'm finishing this game at all. Also tip for Larian: If you do produce some DLC: Please stop hiding your questgivers inside random buildings with closed (but unlocked) doors. Not all players are breaking into every strangers home hoping to beg them for Quests unprompted. I didnt find Marinya in act 3 until I looked up a guide to see if she even makes it there or that I was supposed to find her somewhere in Act 2 and got her killed because i didnt. Meanwhile I couldnt find the Remove The Shadow Curse quest because as far as I can tell from what i read online, starting it involves entering a random hotelroom for seemingly no story-prompted reason at all to speak with a random harper.

Stay with Me.
KAEYA X READER.
Warnings: light angst/heartbreak but nothing bad (happy ending)
The tavern was as crowded as usual, and by that meaning almost completely baren for a rainy Wednesday afternoon. As you order a apple cider from Charles, the tavern door bell rings and you instinctively turn to check.
"Ah~ it is pouring out, I need a drink to combat the dissapointment of getting my fur cape wet."
Kaeya. Of course he wasnt the last person you'd expect to see open the tavern doors, he just wasnt much of a "afternoon delight" type drinker. Still, you stare as he tries to cooly swipe off the wet rain from his uniform as he walks towards the counter and takes a seat next to you.
"Well, well! Good afternoon y/n! What a suprise to see a beauty such as yourself here at this hour."
He raises an eyebrow and smirks as he turns to look straight ahead and run his fingers through his hair, not allowing time for you to respond before he has a drink in his hand.
"Afternoon Captain,"
You face him and smirk with the same intensity of flirty-ness as he just had.
"Of course you would be surprised to see me at this hour, you usually drink yourself to sleep before i order a evening drink."
You chuckle and look straight ahead and take a swig of your beverage, the confidence of your little witty come back replays as the cider burns your throat.
"Oh ho, well thats quite the attitude! I must ask, whats the purpose of this?"
"Hmm?"
"The occasion? I've never seen you drink three days in a row, I've been sober enough to pay attention to that."
The truth is, the last few days you've been at a bit of a crossroads. You know you and the Cavalry Captain share feelings, but you have a job offer in Natlan. This job is a dream to you, ever since you were a child. You could never dream of passing this opportunity, but you question if this possible romance could be the first significant one. You've been meaning to bring it up to him, but recently you just havent seen enough of him to bring up the subject. As a result, you turned to the more than occassional drink at the tavern to brighten your mood from the decision that faces you.
"Well then if you're interested, it actually... might concern you."
Your face is flushed red due to nerves, of course it doesnt directly concern him since nothing astronomical has occured in order to absolutely weigh your decision based on a man, but you didnt want to leave without warning.
"I see, well, we haven't..." His cheeks grow the slightest bit red as his eyes skip to look around then back at you.
"we haven't progressed to that yet, have we? I mean, you're not pregnant are you?"
"What?!" You're taken aback by the direct-ness of his statement, about the fact that he thought it could even have been a possibility. Was it confirming your suspicions of him returning feelings? "No, i- its not that! That is out of the question completely!" You yelp as you shake your hands as a frantic meaning of saying "Absolutely no way".
"Of course! of course.. i just figured i'd ask in case, but i guess drinking for a few days regularly isnt particularly healthy for a baby."
You roll your eyes and take another swig. Oh boy.
"It's actually more of an advice thing, i suppose."
"Ah~ well! lets discuss then, hm!" He happily takes a sip of his wine, his face surprisingly relieved.
"So? What do you need the great Master Kaeya's guidance on?" He smiles and giggles slightly.
"Actually, I'd like to take this outside."
"But its raining cats and-"
"Outside. please."
Your tone picks up more aggresively and he gets the memo. He takes one more sip of his beverage and you do the same with yours. You pay Charles and meet Kaeya right at the door.
"Get ready for the rain, sweetheart"
Your heart jumps as he grabs your wrist and swings open the door, pulling you with him down the street, stopping at a small archway behind a building, big enough to comfortably converse without being cramped or drenched.
"Now, where were we?"
"right.. well.." You look down and fidget with your thumbs, only to look back up at him and see him gazing into your eyes, examining your soul and what felt like your heart. Did he already know? It sure felt like it.
"I have a big decision to make, but i want to ask you before i come to a concrete decision."
He nods as a sign to continue talking, acknkowledging his position in helping you decide.
"I might have to move away. To natlan more specifically. I've recieved a dream~ job offer that i simply cant refuse, unless i was faced with new circumstances here in Mondstadt."
"Hm, And how do i play a role in this?" He asks as he folds his arms and leans back against the stone wall.
You explain to him his part, and he lets you talk until you are completely finished. you tell him your feelings, your worries, your doubts, and your hopes. Every single one that included him in the package. He looks at you sternly the whole time, but he looks hurt at the same time and you wonder why.
"Well, i honestly dont know what to say to this y/n. You know i cant leave Mondstadt if we were to persue eachother."
"I know."
"Then why bother telling me? Why not just leave, hm? Before damage could be done? before you told me all this, confirmed my hopes in our relationship but crushed it with the fact that you 'might' leave? You should have just spared me and left!"
He looks emotional and teary eyed, much more that you're used to seeing from a man who held such a cool composure 24/7. Have you hurt him that much? Does he hate you?
"I can always stay if you wan-"
"No. Its your dream job, and you shouldnt pass it off. I just cant promise that i'll wait for you."
He steps closer to you, inches from your face. His breath is warm and it contrasts with the cold rainy air. He slowly takes your hand and hold it in his, then lands a soft passionate kiss onto your lips. A few seconds of the kiss pass and he breaks for air and looks at you, making strong magnetic eye contact with you.
"Y/n, I can't wait for you."
"You dont have to. I can stay."
He runs his hands up your arms and grips firmly onto your shoulders and kisses you again, and when he pulls back he lets out a heavy sigh.
"There's no staying, just be safe. Please."
Your throat swells like a rock is stuck and your eyes burn hot along with your ears. You cant muster any words, you just stand there maintaining a sorrow eye contact for a few seconds.
As you both stare in silence, he slowly lets go of you, and as soon as his hands depart from yours, he turns and walks out and into the road. The further he walks and fades from your vision, the further you slide down the wall until your behind hits the wet floor as you curl up to your knees. Hard, Hot tears stream steadily down your cheeks as you hide your head in your knees, sobbing hard yet silently. Your heart aches and your stomach churns.
You want to run and look for him, grab him by the waist and embrace him in a hug from behind as you cry against his back, but he has already erased you from his plethora of memories as he sulks in his room with a drink. The night is weary and so are you. You walk home, replaying the scene in your mind over and over, and the instant you step into your home, you fall to your knees and sob once more.
You dont even close the door behind you. You cant do anything but cry, you had no idea you felt so strongly for Kaeya, but you had to put it all behind you.
He probably had.
What feels like an hour or two goes by and you barely made it to the couch, where you lay sprawled out, half on the couch and half not as you stare into empty space, thinking of nothing but everything at once. Why did his mood snap so quickly? Why did he cut you off? Was it self defense? What could he gain by pushing you away? You had no clue, but you didn't want to dwell on it and start crying again, so you just lay there trying to fall asleep.
Suddenly, a warm, slender hand grazes your back and rubs up and down softly.
"I'm sorry."
You jolt a little, but you dont get up immediately.
"How long have you been like this? Its almost night again y/n. Have you gotten up at all!? Your door was wide open, I was worried."
No response from you as you try to analyze the voice. It sounds like Kaeya, but you had remind yourself that he wanted nothing to do with you.
The man sighs and walks away. A hallucination for sure, you thought. The male comes back and lifts you by the shoulders. He sits on the couch and then lays your head onto his lap.
You look up and are met with blue eyes, one scarred and one as normal as you're used to seeing on him, though both glossy as if about to cry.
"Kaeya?"
"Mhm. Sit up Darling, you need to drink water."
You obey and sit close beside him, sipping the water he hands you with both hands on the glass like a child. He puts his arm around you and his hand on your head and gives you a soft yet quite long kiss on the head as you finish your water.
"Im sorry. We can work something out. I know that i shouldn't.. I can't push you away."
You dont fight his embrace as it gets firmer, and his body trembles slightly as if he is crying.
"Do you want me to stay?" you ask sheepishly.
"My dear, its up to you what you want. I'll follow you in whatever you decide. Im choosing to persue you, the rest is yours to seal."
"I want to stay." you state calmly.
"As you wish." He eyes your empty glass of water and gets up to pour you some more. When he comes back you sit against him again, and drink the glass empty, then put the glass on the coffee table and lay your head on his lap.
"Sleepy?"
"Mhm.."
He chuckles and holds you as you fall asleep, giving you tender kisses all over your face. When you fall asleep, he carries you bridal style upstairs to your room and tucks you into your bed. For a moment he stands there and ponders leaving you to rest, but the guilt of the words he said yesterday and seeing your state today convinced him to stay at your side. He walks to the other side of the bed and crawls in beside you, wrapping his arms around your waist and gives you one more peck before falling asleep.
You wake up once in the middle of the night to use the restroom, and when you come back to your room you're awake enough to process the fact that Kaeya was indeed in your bed. You crawl up into where you were in the bed before but this time facing him. You run your fingers along his face, feeling every bone and inch of his smooth skin, his tan beauty enhanced by the glow of the moonlight that peeked in through the window across the room from the bed. Your run your fingers down his hair and admire how his hair falls down his body. You've only been this close to him once, but never had you touched him like this. Your face was red and your smile was definitely pronounced, and as you stroke his cheek his eyes slowly open to see your expression.
"Good morning y/n~" he smiles and wraps his arms around you softly.
"How did you sleep?"
"Actually, its midnight."
"Oh, i see. Well, lets fall back asleep shall we? Or are you wide awake?"
You don't respond immediately but instead wrap your arms around him and hide your face in the crook of his neck.
"Back to sleep.."
He chuckles and brings you closer to his body, rubbing your back and stroking your hair until you both are hazy and about to fall asleep.
"I love you..." you whisper, half aware of what you just said and half not.
He pauses for a second, then gently squeezes your body as if to be his response back.
"I love you too.." he whispers back, his words echo in your mind as you drift to sleep, your dreams filled with nothing but happiness and him.
You would stay in Mondstadt, but occasionally take trips to Natlan for a few weeks, and would try to take Kaeya with you if he wasn't too busy. The two of you became inseperable, and quite the item for some time, the story of your romance left most who heard it in tears.
After every time you tell the story, he grips your hand and grabs your face softly making you look into his eye.
"I'm glad you stayed."
He says as he pulls you in for a tender kiss, which is usually embarrassing in public but you dont mind in this case, because it was of genuine emotion and not of his flirtatious teasing.
You really do love him.

Wimsey Eleven
You were right the beginning was great craic. loved getting all the different perspectives about the wedding/wedding arrangements. Loved Bunter's speech about the nuptuals. Loved how both bunter and harriet were worrying themselves about how they'd get on with each other <3
Bunter had some Great moments all through this one, but poor old boy, he had some stressful times. I'm also now even more convinced of Fae!Bunter
Abominable lack of Parker
harriet and peter continue to be absolutely delightful together both with romance and crime detection and I do hope you get through this book cause at the end theres some heart wrenching moments between them and it's great and sweet and it hurts.
More peter feeling bad for solving the crime and condemning the killer, this time with added guilt for involving his wife and brief conflict between the two because of his feeling obligated to out all evidence. He's got such strong morals (regarding murder at least) and it kinda feels like he wishes he didnt, especially when he knows his detective work leads to folks death, even when they are guilty.
on that cheerful note!
thanks for having put me onto these books, theyre just brilliant
aaah so i actually did finish it the other day! i mean, i skipped over every bit of actual detecting because i really did not care for the mystery in this one, and largely skim-read the rest but i did get to the end haha and ohhh what an ending <3 definitely not my fave and felt a lot like post-canon fanfic where they're just being in love and talking about their relationship a lot. not bad per se, but i didn't feel any real tension or interest. the ending was absolutely hear-wrenching though, and good boy bunter got some cracking moments! appalled ofc at abject lack of parker, though i do love that his only mention is him cheerfully informing horrible helen that one of peter's wedding guests used to be a burglar. absolute troll charles parker. also love that helen says in her letter at the start, "Mary's policeman was bad enough, but he is, at any rate, quiet and well behaved" like idk i just live for the idea of him keeping his mouth shut and making nice and then quietly making the most blisteringly bitchy comments to mary with a completely straight face.
im so glad you've enjoyed them, they're marvellous aren't they!

Genre: mellow, lofi cafe feels idk, long-forgotten romance??
Word Count: 1.9k
your eyes were fixated on the laptop screen, a daily cup of white chocolate mocha steaming next to your laptop on the surface of the table. you stretched and took a deep breath.
the holidays were here, snow was falling like cotton outside, but you were sitting here in your favourite cafe, comitting yourself to your work that, though drained you, was inviting enough to keep you occupied in this season. the sight of couples strolling outside was the first thing that caught your attention, followed by the children running around and making footprints in the snow piled up against the sidewalks.
your eyes drifted back onto your computer screen, when the bell that hung on the entrance door of the cafe jingled. the scent of roses drifted through the air, and you weren't sure if you were just being sensitive with your sense of smell, but you started to wonder how come nobody else was reacting to such a strong scent.
It wasn't a scent that not many wore, much less a man who had just entered the cafe -- your eyes reacted to the scent faster than your thought process, finally realising who it was.
you lifted your hands off the table, leaning back in the seat as your eyes traced the shape of his forehead, his browbone, his nose, his lips. you looked back at the screen, then tried to steal a look at him through your lashes, just that this time, he was looking at you too.
"Latte macchiato with spoon of cocoa powder," you heard him order.
Hmm. you hum. still the same order after five years.
He walks over to the table warily, his hands jammed into his coat pockets and his hair now longer but neatly combed up to expose his forehead, browner with more dye. "Still the workaholic you were when you left, i see."
"i was going to stay a workaholic regardless of the people i was with," you leaned forward and offered him a small smile. he pulls out the chair opposite you and sits down.
he smiles back with his eyes. "five years."
"five years," you almost whisper in response. you take a sip out from your own cup. "if you still think it was easy convincing myself to leave back then--"
"no, i didnt think it was easy," yunho shakes his head. "i just wish... i had more power to keep you here. i just wish whatever we had was enough to make you stay, but i guess i was wrong."
he looks you in the eye, gently blinking his tired, jetlagged eyes.
*flashback
you trudged your way back to the apartment, your mind elated but your heart heavy in your chest as you thought about the conversation earlier that day.
"i'll be sending you over to paris to work with chanel on their promotions."
"Huh?" You raised a brow, your hands held behind your back as you watched your boss pack her table and shove some files back into the shelf behind her.
"you've been producing quality work. so, i'm choosing you to go to paris and be our representative to work with chanel on a new contract."
new contract?
"this isn't a one-time business trip?"
"no, it's not. chanel's picky about the collaborations they offer other companies, and the one we got is based on a 7-year contract. If you accept it, you'll be staying in paris for the next 7 years."
you sucked your lips between your teeth and blink at your boss upon hearing the offer.
"i know you're in a serious relationship right now. but you deserved this offer, which is why i raised the topic in the first place. whatever you choose to do with it is up to you." your boss had her palms flat against her desk as she leaned forward and scanned your facial expression.
reality yanks you back to current time, when yunho gets the door of the small house open before you even reach the walkway.
"Oh, you're back! i was about to drive out to get you--"
"yunho," you breathed, picking up your pace as you turned into the walkway. "we need to talk."
yunho blinks at you, unconsciously wrapping his hands around yours as he pulls you through the door.
*now
"do you regret the decision?" you rested your cheek in your palm, looking at yunho's facial features. five years had zero impact on his looks. he still looked as good as the last time you saw him.
"of letting you go to paris?" yunho raised a curious brow, taking a sip from his latte. you nod.
"no," he shakes his head and licks his lips, resting his forearms on the table top and rests some weight on his arms. "you told me at the start of our relationship that your career was top priority, and i said i respected it. i still do."
there he was. the man you fell in love with. his maturity and ability to understand you on a different level was what made you so attracted to him in the first place.
"we both know i wouldn't have been able to stop you anyway."
your brows tilted backwards on your face, and you cocked your head to the side at his words. you felt shitty the week you left yunho, but all you could remember was him telling you to do your best, and that this was what you had been working for. 'you deserve it', he said. he might have been mature enough to respect your decision to pursue your career, but you were the one who chose to leave him, the only man whom you truly loved and wanted to be with.
"yunho, i--"
"no, please," yunho shows you his palm. "don't apologise."
you look down at your closed laptop, rubbing your eyes and running your hand through your hair. yunho finishes his drink and notices that your eyes were a little red, probably from staring too much at your screen.
"where are you staying now? i'll send you. how long are you staying for?" yunho hands you a napkin.
"hotel rendezvous. about 10 days." you take the napkin, knowing that he's already noticed your tiredness.
"okay. let's get you back to the hotel. you're already exhausted," yunho stands up. you remember this tactic of his. it was a power move that made you anxious, that made you pack up and leave with him, so you did just that.
the drive to the hotel was quiet, but strangely comforting. The car was filled with yunho's scent, so you felt like you had just been thrown back five years to when you first started living with him.
time seemed to pass, even when not many words were spoken. it was almost like god was punishing you for choosing your career over yunho. you fumbled through your wallet for the keycard, pushing the heavy door open and holding it, gesturing into the room towards yunho.
"are you sure? You're exhausted, you should be resting and not entertaining a gue--"
"Oh, shut up and get in," you chuckle, leaning forward and pulling him in.
you got your bag off your shoulders, carefully placing the laptop on the table next to the bed. yunho looked around the small, but elegant room while you pulled off your coat and your earrings.
you leaned down to the corner of the table, reaching for the socket switch to turn on your charger as yunho walked to the large sliding door a few steps away, looking out at the snow falling gently onto the balcony.
"how does it look like in paris?" he asks quietly, the warmth from his breath creating a small cloud of vapour against the glass. you stand straight again after checking that your laptop was charging before walking over to the sliding door, shoving your hands into the pockets on your butt.
"oh, gorgeous. especially when it snows. it's beautiful."
you hear yunho give a small laugh through his nostrils.
"you know, i thought about it. i thought about flying to paris to look for you, because i was never able to let you go."
you purse your lips and gulp, a strange feeling creeping up on your chest. it felt like when you first crushed on him and you had no idea if he would reciprocate. it was a feeling of anxiety and uncertainty.
"can i ask you something?"
oh, no.
"okay."
yunho finally turns to look at you, his height suddenly extremely in your face because of the lack of space between the two of you. you were dangerously close to him, so much that the only thing you could smell was the scent of him mixed with the rose cologne nobody else wore.
"do you still love me?"
you freeze at the question. your eyes try to look away, but yunho shifts his head to meet them. you slowly look down at your feet, only for him to tilt your chin upwards to look at him.
"i just need an honest answer."
you sigh, feeling your heart and presence completely melt at his touch. it was light, and gentle, and you would be lying if you said you didn't miss it.
You'd be lying straight through your teeth if you said you didn't still think about him every other day, even when you were in paris.
yunho realises that you've gone quiet for a very long time, and he is aware that the only time you do that is when you know a truth you refuse to admit.
yunho closes the gap between the both of you, pulling you closer to him by your chin and kissing you lightly on your lips.
a feeling of nostalgia, warmth, and love overwhelmed you all at once. It had been five. long. years.
yunho pulls away and looked you in the eyes, knowing that there was no other person who could read you better.
"i do," you breathed, as yunho's hands shifted to your cheeks, his cold fingertips right below your earlobes. "i do, and i always will."
a small smile pulls his lips up his cheek, and you could see his eyes welling up with tears before he pulls your face to his again, this time, pressing harder, pressing longer, allowing the both of you to reminisce the taste of each other's lips.
"i'll never let you go again. i let you go once, i'm not letting you go again." yunho presses his forehead against yours, then pulled you into his embrace and burying his nose in your hair. you shut your eyes tightly, grimacing at the warmth and presence nobody else besides yunho could provide you.
"yunho," you were trying your best not to cry.
"hmm?"
"i'm assuming you still love me then?"
you felt yunho laugh a little into your hair.
"i'll love you for the rest of my life, and in the lives after this. no matter where you were, no matter where you will be, you will always have my heart."
A/N: i may or may not have busted a big fat uwu writing this, this might be the softest one shots ive ever written.
