Category 5 notalgia incident guys. Found my old phone from 8th-9th grade (2013-2014). Guys the fashion. My makeup was reminiscent of Bendon Urie in "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." Almost all my outfits feature a corset, knee high boots, or both. My old friends are usually with me. I have probably 200 random Vampire Knight screenshots(?) My childhood dog who was notoriously hard to photograph due to her constant hyperactivity is there. Beyond blurry, but there. Fall looked just like fall has always looked, but in lower resolution.

Chapter 9: Game Dey

September 12, 2021

it's been two weeks since joe and i made up and attended the team dinner together.

the dinner ended up being a really fun night. joes teammates are really sweet, so are their girls that were super welcoming, the food was great, and joe gave me a tour of the facility when almost everyone had left.

when joe dropped me off back at my parents house i couldn't wipe the smile off my face, there were some flirty moments we had shared and i couldn't get him off my mind.

even the next morning, i walked downstairs for breakfast grinning like an idiot. it didn't go unnoticed by my mom either.

"who's got you smiling like that?" - your mom

"oh nothing.." - you

"joe?" - your mom gave you a knowing smile

"maybe." - you

"how'd last night go?" - your mom

"really.. really good. i didn't want the night to end." - you

"so did you and joe flirt?" - your mom

"a little bit. i don't know it could've been one sided. after everyone was mostly gone joe gave me a tour of the stadium that ended at his locker. it was dark in the locker room and at one point we were just looking at each other. it was so intense i thought we were going to kiss, but ja'marr walked in and turned the lights on. we both awkwardly backed away from each other and just looked at our feet." - you

"even if it wasn't.. it was probably just in the moment." - you

you didn't know it of course, but later that day joe had a similar conversation with your mom.

"so how'd last night go?" - your mom smiled when the question made joe blush

"really good. it was an amazing night, i'm really glad i found the courage to ask y/n to be my date." - joe

"so did you try to make any moves?" - your mom

"yeah actually. i'm not the best at flirting but i think y/n noticed my attempts at it. after the tour i gave her of the stadium we were standing at my locker, all the lights were off, and we were just staring at each other. i made a split second decision and was going to kiss her but ja'marr walked in and ruined the moment." - joe

"you were gonna kiss her!?" - your mom

"yes, it was the perfect moment. i was gonna finally tell her how i've felt for years." - joe

"i'm sorry ja'marr ruined the moment."

"it's fine, at practice a couple days ago he apologized to me after i told him my plan." - joe

"so, you have a plan b?" - your mom

"i was thinking about asking her to go to my first regular season game, since i'll be playing. it's my first game back from my injury and i really want her to be there. if we win we'll probably have an after party and i can confess there." - joe

"sounds good. i'm so happy you're finally telling her." - your mom

"i am too. i just really hope she feels the same way." - joe

*end of flashback*

a couple days ago, my family went over to the burrow's for dinner. after we were done, joe and i went into the basement and were watching a movie when he asked me to go to his game. i could tell he was nervous about something during the movie and when he asked me the sweetest question it made sense.

"hey so, sundays the first game of the real season. it's home, and my first game back since my injury. i really want you to be there. you don't have to go if you don't want to.. but i'd love if you were there cheering me on." - joe

"i'd love to go joe. i wouldn't miss your first game back for the world." - you

"good. i'll give you your ticket tomorrow, i don't know if my parents are sitting in the stands or the suite but i'm sure they'll do whatever you'd be more comfortable with." - joe

"i think sitting in the stands would be more fun, but you have to promise me one thing." - you

"what's that?" - joe smiled

"you'll dab me up when you come out to stretch." - you

"i can promise that" - joe

the next day joe had given me my ticket, and now today was the day. i woke up extra early today, i wanted to look my best for the game (and joe).

i had washed my face and put my mascara on, wearing leather leggings and joes bengals shirt. my speaker was playing lowly in the back ground, it was kinda sad but i had a playlist to hype me up playing. but, if things went the right way tonight i might be confessing to joe tonight.

a song i really liked came on, and since i was ready for the most part i started dancing along to the song. my back was to the door, using my hairbrush as a microphone.

"any reason why i wasn't invited to the dance party?" - joes deep voice startled you

i jumped as i turned around only to see joe with his arms crossed, leaning against the door frame.

"joe! you can't just walk in my room!" - you

"i knocked! no one answered so i thought i was free to walk in." - joe shrugged

"what do you need" - you sighed

"i actually have a couple things for you" - joe

"what?" - you smiled

joe stood up straight and motioned for me to follow him back into my room, when i did i saw a gift back sitting on my bed.

"what's this for?" - you grinned up at him

"just some gifts, want to show you how much i appreciate you by getting you stuff for the game." - joe

i removed the tissue paper out of the bag only to see a cluster of orange, black, and white.

when i pulled everything out i realized that joe had gotten me his jersey, and not just one either. the orange, black, and white jerseys were all in the bag.

"joe you didn't have to get me all this!" - you smiled at him as you held them to your chest

"yeah i did. you've been supporting me my whole career well my whole life. this is your first bengals game and i really want to make you proud, i want to show you that all the hard work payed off. every time i made you pass with me in the backyard helped me get here, i'm just really excited for you to watch me in the nfl." - joe

"awww, joey. don't make me cry." - you dropped the jerseys on the bed before pulling joe into a hug

"i'm already so proud of you." - you

"thank you. there's more in the bag by the way."

- joe gave a somewhat cocky smirk as he pulled away from you

"you really spoiled me huh?" - you

"yup" - joe grinned

i moved back over to the bag on my bed and looked inside. there was a bengals beanie, a snapback hat, and a tiny box in the corner.

"what's this?" - you picked the box up

"open it" - joe smiled

i returned his smile before opening the box to see a dainty necklace with a "9" charm.

"this is so pretty! you didn't have to do all this joe.." - you

"yeah i did. you've done so much for me, this is just a small thank you." - joe

i walked back over to joe and wrapped my arms around his waist.

"i love everything. thank you so much." - you

"you're welcome, y/n. i knew i wanted to get you a jersey because all you have is my shirt, but i didn't know which jersey color you'd like most.. so i got them all." - joe chuckled

"which one do you think i should wear today??"

- you

"mmm, we're wearing the white jerseys today. wanna match?" - joe laughed

"okay so white jersey, what accessories?" - you

"the necklace of course, i don't think you'll need a hat today." - joe

"i'll put it on right now, can you help me?" - you

joe nodded and i handed the necklace to him. i stood in front of him as he moved my hair to the side and put the necklace around my neck.

"why do they make these clasps so damn small."

- joe grumbled as he struggled to get it clasped

"can you do it?" - you chuckled

"yup.. got it!" - joe moved your hair back in place after he got the necklace on

i turned around to face him and he moved the necklace to where it was perfectly centered.

"it looks really good on you." - joe

"thanks joey" - you

"y/n when are you leaving?!" - your mom stormed into your room

both joe and i's eyes snapped up to my mom, who was now awkwardly standing in the doorway with her jaw slightly dropped.

"sorry.. i didn't mean to interrupt. i didn't know you were here joe.." - your mom

"it's okay, i have to get going anyways. gotta get to the facility." - joe started towards the door

"bye joe. thanks again for everything."

- you smiled

"you're welcome. i'll see you later." - joe winked before walking past your mom and out of the room

"oh. my. god." - your mom mouthed

i licked my lips, recalling everything that just happened.

"what'd he get you? that bag is huge y/n!"

- your mom

"this necklace with his number on it, every color of his jersey, a bengals snapback, and beanie."

"awww isn't that sweet." - your mom smiled

"he put my necklace on for me, i couldn't describe to you the amount of butterflies i had in my stomach mom." - you

"i'd say. you need to hurry up and finish getting ready though, robin and jimmy are already downstairs to go to the game." - your mom

"okay!" - you

when my mom left the room i ran my hand over my face in attempts to wipe the stupid smile off my face as i looked at the gifts laying on my bed.

god joe was the best.

"you excited??" - robin

"oh totally, i'm happy to be here for joes first game back. it's still crazy to me that he's in the nfl." - you

"it's still crazy to me too. he's really excited for you to see him, but a little nervous too. he said he was going to be embarrassed if he lost the first game you saw." - robin

"win or lose im probably gonna tackle him in a hug later." - you chuckled

robin and jimmy exchanged a small smile. what's that about?

"joe came to me a week ago asking what he should get you for your little bengals goodie bag." - robin

"aww how sweet." - you

"that's what i thought too, but he shot down all of my ideas. so i hope you liked everything he got you, because he picked it out all by himself."

i laughed while thinking about how sweet joes gesture was, he has me wrapped around his finger.

"i love everything. especially the necklace." - you

"necklace? i was only showed the jerseys and hats." - robin

"oh uh, yeah he got me a necklace. it's just a dainty little chain with a nine charm." - you pulled the necklace out from under your jersey

"how adorable. i'll need to make sure to get a picture of you two after the game. oh and we're gonna be sitting near the tunnel, it'll be the bottom row so you can say hi to joe during warmups." - robin

"sounds good" - you looked away and out the window, trying to hide your blush

*time skip*

i followed robin and jimmy to our seats, i received a few weird looks from some fans but i understand why. a strange female was walking around with their quarterback's parents so i could see where they were coming from.

"don't take the fangirls looks to heart. they watch joes every move, and here you are a young beautiful woman that's hanging around his parents. they're gonna be a little suspicious."

- robin

"i'll be okay, they'll find out i'm just a close friend soon. but i have to be honest, i didn't know joe had fangirls." - you laughed

"oh yeah, i foresee the number of them increasing with his return. and honey let's be real, you're more to joe than just a close friend." - robin

"i don't know about that-" - you

"here they're coming out to stretch!" - jimmy

my eyes left robin and shot over to the tunnel exit, watching for the familiar 6'4 stature. i was starting to wonder if joe had forgotten because most of the players were out stretching and i hadn't been approached yet.

"he's probably nervous about the game, i'm sorry that he forgot honey." - robin

"it's okay-" - you get cut off by a familiar voice yelling your name

"y/n!" - joe

my eyes darted around till they landed on joe, just a couple rows of people between us. a huge smile formed on my face as i waved at him, he returned the smile and motioned for me to come down.

i stood up and walked down the stairs to the bottom row before sticking my hand over the edge to connect it with joe's.

"you kept your promise" - you smiled

"of course, i always keep the promises i give you. i also thought a picture of us dabbing each other up would be insanely cool." - joe

"you're mom wants to get a pic of us after the game." - you

"we can do that." - joe nodded, his smile never leaving his face

"don't you have to get going?" - you looked around at the other players already warming up

"i've got a couple minutes. i really appreciate you coming by the way. i was kinda nervous because it's my first game since my injury, but you being here really helps." - joe

"of course, i'm happy to be here! do you like my fit??" - you

"well duh. you look amazing always, but you look extra good in my jersey." - joe

"yeah? i wore my necklace too." - you

"it looks really pretty on you." - joe grinned

"thanks, joey." - you

"burrow!!" - zac

joe sighed as he turned around and saw zac motioning for him.

"i gotta go, i'll see you after though?" - joe

"of course. i hope you win." - you

"thanks, i'll try to win it.. for you." - joe

i looked away to try to hide the blush on my cheeks, but joe laughed.

"see ya later, y/n" - joe

"see ya, burrow." - you smiled to yourself as you watched joe turn around and run to his coach across the field

the game was absolutely electric, everyone was so hyped for joes return and start of his redemption story. when the team ran out i got literal chills, it was insane seeing joe play in the nfl and i can’t put into words how proud of him i am.

*time skip*

four quarters and overtime later, i was jumping up and down when the score ended in 27 - 24. joe had won his first game back!

“i’m so proud of him!” - you yelled to robin over the cheering crowd

“i know you are honey! i am too! wanna go ahead and start going towards the players exit?” - robin

“sure!” - you

i couldn’t wipe the smile off my face as i walked with jimmy and robin to the players exit. we stood near the door, leaning against the wall. i knew it was going to take joe awhile, but i didn’t expect him to text me soon after the players got back to the locker room

i’m gonna shower rq, do my press conference, and head straight out to you guys.

okay sounds good, we’re standing by the exit. don’t feel like you have to rush yourself, you need to celebrate the win joe.

i’m going to, we’re going to our go-to bar to celebrate.

oh okay, so are we still gonna get that picture your mom wants?

all three of our heads snapped up in joes direction, we were all kind of dazed while staring at the ground waiting for him.

i tackled him in a hug, and he didn’t seem taken back at all when i jumped on him.

“you’re gonna do great things this year joe, and all the years after that.” - you

“i hope you’re there for all of them” - joe

“i will be, joey.” - you smiled at him as you moved one of his curls out of his face

after that i moved to the side so he could talk to his parents before robin asked to stand together for a picture.

joe had his arm around my back, his big hand on my shoulder as my hand was pressed onto the middle of his back.

“smile!” - robin

she snapped a few pics before showing them to joe and i.

“you make me look so short.” - you jokingly complained

“you make me look so tall.” - joe retorted

“oh whatever” - you laughed as you shoved his chest

joe and i continued to laugh together till robin and jimmy decided to leave, and joe and i were walking to his car.

“im really glad you’re coming with me. you know i dont like settings like that, but you make it more bearable” - joe opened your door for you before he shoveled to the other side and sat down.

“i’m just the best.” - you joked

“you really are.” - joe looked over at you, his eyes going from your eyes to your lips and back.

you didn’t know it, but he wanted to kiss you so bad. hopefully though, if everything goes right tonight, he’ll be able to do that as much as he wants.

Okay So today is the last day of Ramadan and i'm up right now for the last sehri, and i wanted to share something fun i've been doing over the course of the month (tho this started like into week 2)

a sourdough starter! i started this on March 24th

one of my best friends gave my sister a bit of their sourdough starter so she (my sis) can make a sourdough focaccia. there was still some starter left in the jar they gave us so i was like... why not feed it more and see what happens? and things definitely happened:

so i pretty much stuck with a 1:1:1 ratio (tho a bit less water at some point) and kept feeding it once a day and it was rising significantly! it rose so much to the point of uh. well. jar almost full, but look at how active it got, these pics were taken on April 4th so in just 12 days it doubled sooo much:

i'd say 12 days to get to this point is fine tbh, especially since the weather kept going from very cold and rainy to mild, so it was never consistent. however i've kept the jar near the stove anyway so it could get some heat when we would cook.

eventually i discarded some to another jar and fed it a bit for my cousin to put in his starter, and then i moved my guy to a bigger jar. my cousin also gave me some of his starter to mix in :) which was nice:

and now finally.... here we are once again, i've made a lot bc i haven't stuck it in the fridge yet to stop its process and it's very active, these pics are from today, April 9th:

so yeah this is where i'm at now! later today i'll finally be using it in a recipe for banana bread with starter, which i'm very excited about 👀 and i'm looking into making some roti with this too after Ramadan

alright, I'll actually reveal my secret to how I make driver's lips so pink. so, class, gather round, today we're gonna learn how to from this.

tutorial under the cut!

firstly, the basic idea of how to make reds in skintones pop is to build up the green, it will neutralize the yellow and red that you see all over the face, that way when you do up the red it will only grab onto the most red parts of a person's face aka the lips!

LEVELS:

so ofc, as always, I start of with levels, as always, I use the top black pipet to grab the darkest part of the picture which most of the time is at the collar or under a cap.

then at the levels I play around a little with the red, green and blue not just RGB and especially with the red to make sure most of the red is neutralized in the face.

this is what the levels look like

for this gif its not to needed because the lighting is pretty neutral to begin with so I'm mostly using the levels to darken up the imagine and add to the contrast. I yellow up the face a little to make the red in his lips pink up. I will neutralize this later

VIBRANCE:

next thing I do is grab the vibrancy and up the vibrance to about 50+ and actually a little bit of the saturation to make the colours I already have a little bit extra

CURVES:

same as the levels, I grab the black pipet and choose the darkest part of the image to make sure the contrast is high, for curves I will also use some heavy playing around to sharpen the blacks and whites

dont worry the colours will later be neutralized

CHANNEL MIXER:

now this part is really different per gifset, here I'm gonna mostly be playing around with the blue to neutralize the colours even more and make the red pop a little more.

BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST:

because you lose the highlight points when you use channel mixer I'm gonna up the brightness to about +30

SELECTIVE COLOUR:

so this is the fun part, I'm not gonna share all the colours ofc cuz thats 10 pics ajkds, but the red and yellow is the most important here to neutralize the face and make his lips pop, also magenta is really important, the lips almost always have magenta in there so that layer will add even more contrast

here is what they look like

with a gif like this I'd personally recommend upping the blue, blue and red obviously stand in contrast to making the blue stronger with also make the red pop even more

also the white and black are important, white to make eyes pop and black to add contrast and play around further with whatever you think looks pretty

and yeah, sometimes I do another layer of selective colour to up the red and magenta to make the lips even stronger and the blues brighter which is in technique the same as the last explenation

and thats it! thats how I basic edit to make specifically someone's lips pop! this works the best with interviews bc they have the most neutral lighting, its hard to do this techique if you first have to fixx the colouring to get it to a basic neutral but its possible just a fuck ton of work.

So in early 2015 i was kinda getting into kpop, right (due to pump it up fiesta) and following a bunch of blogs right here on tumblr, and ONE OF THEM reblogged a gifset of bts after their FIRST WIN and i was like! Okay okay let's see let's explore. Now I won't say i was blown away by' i need u' per se, but the pretty guy crying bc of their win with thick ass THIGHS also wore some red pants a few months earlier for war of hormone and i was like GYATTTTTT?????? and slowly started exploring them. Liked their songs fair enough, liked the hyyh bsides, and wouldn't you know- they decided to do follow up promotions with one of them! The iconic mystery elevator concept pics were so HYPEEEE, jimins red hair was ugly but they were so active and the fandom, while annoying, was FUN... And then jimins orange hair dropped and i was like 🤤🤤 and then RUN dropped and i begged my parents to get me the album (preordered that shit iktr) and then 2016 and almost all of 2017 were just... BORA BLOOD IN MY VEINSSSSS

But thenn, actually ever since the beginning of 2017, actually, shit, even earlier, with some of the tracks on wings, The Problems arose. I'll link my more detailed post on this later, but basically jungkook not having writing credits on begin, cypher pt4 being trash, bomnal being TRASH yet very popular, bbmas being overbearingly irrelevant yet pushed down everybody's throats, jimin fixing his tooth, namjoon being disgusting, a ~youtube documentary~ aka cashgrab dropping to take fan's money once again, the overabundance of aave in micdrop, chainsmokers, western pandering, fandom getting more and more obsessed with numbers and streaming and voting and their superiority complex while still clinging to an underdog story, 6.5, btsoutcast, the list goes on....

just for fun there's another one: YoiYoi KonKon (lyrics)—my Japanese is nowhere near good enough to parse the lyrics, so i'm purely going by vibes alone. the whole thing screams "reckless indulgence", and the mesh of traditional instruments with a modern beat/melody obviously turned my mind towards settings and characters kinda caught between time? not necessarily literally, just that they're lost/losing themselves in some sense. Hello hello my lovely birdies! It's Tuesday today which means I am now back with a new small playlist for the week! But first things first! How are you doing? How was your weekend? Did anything exciting happen or maybe did you try anything new? I personally took the weekend to relax! Went out with some friends, got myself some nice meals throughout the day and then crashed uninterrupted the entire night hahaha I think I deserved it after working so hard the past few months! Talking about that...

It's been a long way to it, but finally it's done and ready to be launched and I know this might not be what many of you expected BUT I am super excited for it! I'm very passionate about fashion and makeup is a really important part of it too! First drop will be a small collection of gel glitter. Do you ever go get some nice glitter makeup and it turns out its just sticky gel with one single layer of glitter at the top? Or maybe you're deceived by those beautiful stock pictures and when you have the real thing the glitter is barely in the mix? I'm tired of it too! So I've I've working hard on creating my own glitter gel that not only isn't a complete disappointment but also goes well in all skins! If you've noticed the pretty glitter make up on my pics lately, that's it! That's my Popsynote.

ANYHOW! It's been a second since I last shared music! we just got home from the vacation! the stuff we did was very fun (arcade, shopping, swimming at the hotel's pool/hot tub, etc.) and the beaches were very pretty and relaxing (we didn't swim or anything but yeah). very good trip (aside from that one incident with my parents). i forgot how much i liked Ogunquit and Wells Maine. i took some pics, might share them here, idk. if i do, i'll do it later or tomorrow bc i'm tired rn 😂 also i bought a lot of stuff... my new friend invited me out at the end of the month but as I laid in bed all I could feel was guilt and like "what if it's trouble what if ..."

I woke up today really early because of a bad dream. I'm taking an elective with a prof I had before and it reminded me he's got group projects-. How I don't drive so when it's time for my ride I can't stay so it'll be a problem. Or it'll end up like last time where I shared a doc and did it all myself. And then last time I took an elective I almost tanked it. And then if zoom- if I'll be home for it and... just panic if I'll do well, and panic if need to stay on campus and panic thinking about all the times classmates were like "hey come to the cafe" and I looked like a jerk leaving but my ride's here. Bc I don't drive I missed out on hanging and eating with friends. Surreal then I've spent 4 years trapped there waiting for my ride home and then I'll never see it again. Just a place to transition.

Then I started to get scared about my phone - that frequently doesn't work. need to open apps 3 times for them to not crash. and it won't let me take pics or download apps bc it's the model with the lowest memory. but I really don't want to/need to upgrade. it still works...kinda. but also sometimes I don't get texts or notifications and that's terrible.

So then I laid there for a while paralyzed with fear of things I don't have to deal with for a few months. And most of it is caused because I don't drive. group projects, if need me to stay, will I do well, if my phone bugs out, then I graduate in a year and then what...?

Then later seeing everyone out living. Them biking around a diff place, them going to Spain and France. meanwhile look at me. Still exactly the same. Just another day.

what if she's only inviting me bc she feels obligated?

then just being pushed through like a line at six flags. 'go to school go to college it'll be easy by then.' Expecting to wake up some day and be like everyone else- doing things, going places. and it loops in circles - don't go out bc dont drive, then don't get invited bc never out with people, then never go out. I can't fade away I haven't even done anything fun yet.

then still doing my fieldwork. and it might be an additional week. great. so all of may and now almost all of june. I got my hours for it and I'm doing it bc I said I would but everyone else dipped. so... ugh. makes me feel panicked bc then it's tomorrow again and now it's really just me. idk.

I overthink. I feel shame and guilt. I feel jealous of everyone else. idk. whatever. I just won't think about any of it.

Wei comes back home from work one day and Kisa's there. She goes, "Oh, you're not Emi. You know when she’s coming in?"

Wei: "Idk in a few hours maybe"

Kisa: "oooh darn!! Just HOW are we gonna keep ourselves occupied in the meantime!!"

Wei: “....”

Then Wei turns to Kisa like 👌 "We got til 8." And they get 2 work.

But. Like, even though this text was really intended to Make Fucking Her Mom More Convenient, it's not like Emi's able to pick up Intentions from text. So she's like "huh.. Wei warned me about my mom being there.. that was pretty nice of him." (Wei gets a point in her book)

Emi starts treating him a little better bc he seems to understand her situation. Which, in turn, warms Wei up to her bc honestly all you really need to do to get on this guy’s good side is to be persistently nice to him.

As their relationship improves, Wei’s starting to think that maybe this is something he shouldn’t do, but then Kisa swings over like “Yahoo!! Today I’m not wearing panties lol” and his brain turns off. Clothes on the floor.

But after a certain point, Wei and Emi are on pretty good terms with each other, even though they’re not close. He didn’t care about Emi’s opinion before, but now that she’s kind of a friend (?), Wei’s paltry conscience is like ok fuck she can never know I fucked her mom

He takes to leaving the apartment whenever Kisa is there so that her coochie’s siren call doesn’t trap him. He gets pretty bored outside, so he explores the city a lot during this time. He ends up finding a lot of new places to take his friends to for hangouts, which adds more friendship points in this whole gang lol

Then Emi finds out a few years later and it ruins her whole brain. But by then it’s too late. They’re besties ^___^

Kisa was running late to her visit to the apartment (though she technically can't be "late" if this visit was never planned in the first place? Emi didn’t know she's coming over)

and she was all like "HI EMIIII SOOOORRRYYYYY;;;;; I was really really busy ***[redacted. describing all sorts of nastyass shit, probably.]*** and then we just haaaaad to ***[redacted again]***... but i'm here now!!!! 💖 "

and Emi's just,, "god. god. god. god. mom. please dont tell me shit like this ever again please. god. God."

Kisa pouts but she tries (tries. lol.) to respect this!

A few years later, everybody’s moved out of that apartment and gone their separate ways. Emi’s in Boston for a school program. It’s goddamn cold here. It’s also her birthday. She’s got a fun day planned with her pals. Unfortunately, Kisa also decides to drop by to celebrate with her baby ^___^

She spots Wei's name in Emi's contacts (looking over her shoulder @ her phone without permission) and sees the little pic of him in the contact photo with some stupid snapchat filter on his face. “ooo u still talk to that girl? I remember him. His hole was pretty alright.”

Emi’s like, “What.”

Kisa's like, "Oh? I thought you didn't want me to tell about this stuff? Did you change your mind?" (Emi is speechless. It feels like she's about to fall in through the earth's crust)(Kisa starts rattling on about how when it was just the two of them and it'd take a while for anyone else to come home, she'd kill time with him by just fucking like crazy) (Emi hears only static)

Kisa’s like "I was soooo bored waiting for you!!! What else could I have done??" and Emi's like "I DON'T KNOW???? A FUCKING CROSSWORD PUZZLE OR SOMETHING? LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE???"

Emi is so betrayed. She’s never been so thoroughly betrayed in her life. So she gets utterly sloshed.

Later, Wei wakes up to his phone ringing. It’s 4am. Bleary eyed, he accepts the call. If Emi’s trying to contact him at this hour, it’s probably important. He immediately regrets it.

Omg that sounds like so much fun! And you got to see DAY6 I am so jealous 😔 I almost went to see them when they were on tour a few years ago but no one was available to go with me so I decided to go the next time they had a tour... then covid happened and then Jae and Sungjin went on hiatus and then Sungjin enlisted so I'm not going to get to see them all together for at least a couple of years 😭

Huh I never really thought about the linguistics side of stuff like speech-to-text and AI chatbots... I guess I always just considered it part of computer programming. It makes a lot of sense to have people skilled in linguistics working on that though, and I bet that's a super interesting field of study! Math is really cool too, though I don't think I could ever have it as my main focus 😖 I wasn't that interested in it as a kid and then by the time I started to actually appreciate it I didn't have the basics drilled into me to be able to do it well 😩 I love logic though and studying Euclid was one of my favorite things lol

A nature walk in a rainforest? That must have been so amazing oh my goodness... now I really want to go to Puerto Rico haha, I would love to see a rainforest 😍

Oh yeah it's super warm here - I live near the coast so it's not as bad in my area as it is inland but it's still pretty miserable. We've mostly been staying inside where there's air conditioning and opening the windows when it cools off during the night, there are other tricks to keep cool too so if you decide to come here you can ask about it and I'll offer you my wisdom lol

There are actually a lot of really fun things to do in California, we have cool museums and zoos and aquariums and other sightseeing stuff as well as some super pretty and interesting places! Maybe it's just because I live here so I'm biased but I think it's pretty awesome ☺️ there are downsides of course, like the wildfires, earthquakes, etc, but overall I really like it and I'd like to keep living here for as long as I can 😌

right?? i've been enjoying seeing how the linguistics and computer science tie together. i'm about to start this little summer side project/practice with a professor and some others at my school so I'm looking forward to learning more from that! i don't have a lot of programming experience and i've kinda been slacking on practicing 💀 but im slowly getting back into the groove of things.

yeah it sucks how if you don't have the best foundations out can be really hard to grasp other concepts which can make it hard to enjoy learning new things. but i enjoy doing math especially algebra and discrete math and such ^^; part of me wanted to do my masters in math instead (not that I couldn't get another masters later but uhh let's take it one step at a time 😅) but I really wanted to try this linguistics program bc linguistics has always interested me so I wanted to take this chance to explore it.

to get to this part of the rainforest we had to walk up/down some steep hills with rocks and there was like this little cave/tunnel?? i wish I had pics 😂 but this was at the end of the tunnel and leads towards a waterfall if i remember correctly. it was really fun id love to go again or even to any other forest really, I haven't been on any nature walks recently
