ok i didn't wanna be annoying in the tags on OP's post but, re:last reblog, i hardly find it immersion breaking (and in fact find it really funny) to imagine Ema Skye slowly looting Lana's closet, replacing bits of her outfit over the course of her tenure in Criminal Affairs each time she's written up for code of conduct violations for the way she dresses.

Or, alternate read, based on the fact that you can technically only ever see the heels during trial and in AA4 she's otherwise always just represented with bust sprites: maybe she only wears them on court days as a ploy to make herself look taller and thus more authoritative because (funny reason) she's not taken seriously in her department or by Klavier and (sad reason) she never wants to feel as small as she did in Rise from the Ashes while on the stand again.

(of course all this requires you to ignore the fact that her design didn't change at all in Spirit of Justice, which, well, you should! because no one's design being drastically changed is one of the worst things about that game. you're telling me she finally hits Forensics and all she does is add the armband?? get outta heeeeere)

Something I have recently discovered is that ancient Egypt was probably one of the more progressive civilizations during its time. Women were allowed to own property, initiate divorce, conduct business, and even inherit their family's wealth. Things like these were legal rights women in ancient Greece, for example, could only dream off.

Of course, we have to remember that sexism isn't just shown through legal rights. It is also societal, political, and religious, etc. So, while women were allowed to have all these things on the legal side, they were still expected to perform the roles that are still associated with female stereotypes today. To take care of the house, cook, clean, and care for the kids.

But, while women were expected to remain inside the house, there were still jobs that allowed them to work outside the house, such as being weavers, musicians, and midwives. It does remain true that most high-status jobs were male dominated.

Now, women could still obtain certain potitons of power, like becoming a high-ranking priestess, a scribe, or, in some cases, a ruler. One example I can give is Hatshepsut, who took on the title of Pharaoh even though that is a role usually reserved for men. Was she still one hell of a ruler? Yes. Did that also lead to her son trying to erase her from history? Also, yes. But I personally associate that more with an ungrateful brat thing than anything else

Okay, there was also that priests had the occasional tendency to manipulate the royals towards their favor, but anyway.

The point I'm trying to make is that while ancient Egypt was quite progressive for its time, we still need to remember the flaws that were there in broad daylight, not even trying to hide.

So why did Marinette still have to collect all the miraculous and rings and things, why did Gabriel “saved the day”? shouldn’t it have been as if he died instead of Emily all along? Wasn’t the wish supposed to destroy the whole world or something? Why is everything exactly the same except Emily and Nathalie?

Also I was so glad Gabriel betrayed her I would have been so mad otherwise but then??? Yeah his wish really was self scarifying and “good”??? WHAT

They couldn’t have made it any more clear he doesn’t actually care about anyone, doesn’t give a shit about his son and Nathalie, so suddenly, what? it really is all for them????

How did they end it without Adrien finding out about himself being a senti, and without him finding out about Gabriel being Monarch, and without ladynoir finding out about each other????????

That's one of the major problems I have with the TFwiki. I mean sure, it's one of the most meticulously maintained fandom wikis I have ever seen, but personal biases shine through sometimes.

- i kinda like that she ended up looking like a mother-of-pearl inlay lacquerware!

- oh this was a subconscious choice, but Gale is sitting in seiza which is a posture for showing respect especially to elders. it's also known to be a painful position to sit in for extended periods of time, which is why it was sometimes used as a method of (morally dubious) punishment. however, experienced people can maintain this posture for much longer. food for thought :-)
