it really is interesting to see corners of 911 tumblr framing eddie's part of the episode as him being unfairly punished by the narrative. while i do think it's fair if you dislike the turns his arc took this season (happy, carefree eddie was nice the 3 or 4 episodes we got him) he's not being "punished" for no reason. he's literally facing the consequences of his actions. however unintentionally, he hurt christopher and christopher chose to reach out to his grandparents. and ramon and helena understand! they aren't trying to gleefully ruin eddie's life or hurt eddie by stealing his son away; they get it. if eddie doesn't let christopher make this decision for himself, he'll just end up resenting eddie and they don't want eddie to make the same mistakes they made with him when he was younger. honestly there are no villains in eddie and christopher's situation.

eddie's not being punished. he's being given a wakeup call. will he rise to the challenge? i think he will, but time will tell. and he has a lot of work to do to get there.
