Excerpt from the upcoming fic:

"Well, well... It seems the case of the mysterious shadow that appears behind the window during my lessons has been solved..."

Aesop said, opening the window of his classroom. He focused all his efforts on ensuring that the stern tone in which he spoke did not betray the joy of her presence, feelings that made his heart flutter with delight, almost leaping out of his chest. No... He didn't want to reveal anything just yet.

He crossed his arms over his chest, raising his eyebrows playfully, looking expectantly at the gray-spotted seal crouched in the thick reeds on the other side of the window. The seal froze in place, hoping to remain unnoticed. Well, the animal was really large, so hiding behind thin leaves didn't quite work, even though its fluffy, silvery fur blended perfectly with the color of the snow-covered rocks, making it indistinguishable from the surroundings... From a distance. Aesop was right next to her, staring at her sternly. He rolled his eyes.

"Ugh. I see you, Selkie... And even if you cast a Disillusionment Charm on yourself, I'd hear you because your nose is stuffed... Now, show yourself..."

The seal's fur suddenly slackened, and from beneath it emerged two delicate hands, which grabbed the limp snout of the animal, whose eyes were now empty and lifeless, and threw it back like a hood, revealing the head of a woman his age who moved closer to the open window, lowering her gaze shyly.

Oh... Aesop whispered in his thoughts, and his heart pounded. Selkie's transformation no longer impressed him, but she herself... Merlin... He had seen her in many forms, but every time he saw those extraordinary, glowing green eyes with their deep, intelligent gaze, his knees went weak.

"Hi, Aesop," she said shyly, leaning against the windowsill and wiping her runny nose with the back of her hand. She avoided his gaze, caught red-handed... Besides, she still felt uncomfortable showing herself to him in this form. At first glance, she was a petite woman with round shapes, an oval face, and short-cut hair... Simultaneously, she was a beast. Her skin had a dark, silvery-gray, inhuman color, speckled with light and dark spots, similar to the pattern on her fur; her eyes, like those of goblins, glowed in the dark, the irises set in dark gray sclerae; her mouth, though charming and very shapely, hid a set of knife-sharp teeth, whose bite Aesop still remembered, and he unconsciously rubbed his right forearm.

One couldn't forget that she was wild.

Rilla.

Despite her different appearance from the people one saw every day, was indeed beautiful. Even now, with her body wrapped in some seaweed, dripping with water. She was always beautiful.

Aesop swallowed hard, trying with all his might not to look at her cleavage, and cleared his throat.

"Tea?" he asked gently, gesturing to the inside of the classroom, but the selkie shook her head.

"I can't, I don't want to cause you any trouble... I've already bent the rules and slipped through the protective charms... You know, as a seal, I'm unnoticed..." she said, looking around nervously, as if someone might see her at any moment, then looked sadly at Aesop. She squinted her eyes. Daylight irritated her a bit; she couldn't see well in it... Besides, yesterday, when she disappeared before Aesop could open the window, she lost her glasses among weeds.

"Did you perhaps leave something here yesterday?" he asked, limping toward one of the cabinets. Rilla peeked after him curiously, and when he returned, he showed her the lost item - round, thick glasses in a gold frame, partly covered in mother-of-pearl. A beautiful trinket worthy of a pearl diver. The woman smiled broadly and reached for them, but Aesop didn't hand them over. Instead, he very gently put them on her nose, taking the opportunity to brush aside her velvety, silver hair and, seemingly by accident, touch her cheeks with his fingers. "They got scratched on the rocks, I repaired them and slightly improved, now you should see much better..." he whispered, trembling when their gazes met, and in Rilla's large eyes, he saw thousands of kind lights... No one had ever looked at him that way, with such admiration, devotion, trust... He playfully picked a seaweed tangled in her hair (as if he was going to use it later as an ingredient, which he definitely did, it was a rare seaweed) and said: "I'll brew you something to get rid of your cold" stepping back a bit, knowing that if he didn't, he'd take her in his arms, and he didn't want to do that here in the classroom, in case some student caught them. She risked enough to see him...

"Do you have any plans for today?" Rilla asked shyly.

Aesop reached for his notebook and glanced at it. Even if he had plans, he'd cancel any meeting for her, even with the Minister himself, nothing was more important...

"Oh, today I have a pretty busy day..." he murmured, looking at her, pretending to flip through the planner, observing her impatience and slight frustration out of the corner of his eye. He was despicable, he knew it, and he scolded himself inwardly, but he couldn't help but enjoy that even though Rilla seemed to be looking around the room uninterested, her expressions, nervous gestures, revealed that she wanted to spend time with him. "Hmmm... I finish lessons at 3 pm and I promised to help a friend, Mrs. Bella Navarro..."

YOU ARE TERRIBLE, HEARTLESS, DESPICABLE, he scolded himself again, when he deliberately paused to look at the Selkie, who made a sour face at the sound of a woman's name. She was jealous.

"... Poachers stole her valuable goods... I was going to ask them nicely to return it alone, but maybe you'd like to accompany me... I know how you like to complicate their lives... Then... Then maybe we'd eat something together on the beach?... M-Maybe you could catch a fish... we could roast it with lemon, parsley, some olive oil?... I got some pretty good wine from Mr. Weasley's parents... How about that? Today, 3 pm, Floo Flame in Cragcroft?"

His voice became velvety soft, trembling, blushing as he awaited her response. He was never good at planning romantic meetings...

Rilla lowered her gaze, blushing, and stifled a giggle, then in a split second dived into the water and disappeared in the blue depths.

If it interests you, also, I have a manga recommendation! Yasashii Umi no Mamono to Hitoribocchi no Onnanoko, or A Gentle Sea Monster and A Lonely Girl. It's only a oneshot, but I think it might be up your alley. It's pretty sweet, as far as yandere stories go...

(Unfortunately, I think the English translation is down right now, but it's basically about a poor girl in a fishing village who helped a humanoid sea monster recover after an injury! And ever since, she's brought him treats and kept him company down at the cove they meet at, in exchange for the sea monster bringing pearls up for her to sell, so she has money to live off of... They're in love. But one day, somehow, the village learns of the sea monster, and broken-hearted, he thinks she's betrayed him, so he gives up on courting her like a human and takes her for his own, to carry his spawn... At the climax, though, she confesses she loves him, and she didn't betray him at all! He weeps and apologizes, they make up, and they plan to leave for somewhere far away.)

Aha, I just think it's sweet! (⁠*⁠´⁠ω⁠｀⁠*⁠) Especially for a yandere story to get such a happy ending... (I know another with a sweet ending like that, reliably in English (though not explicit), but it's much longer, so I won't shove it on you unless you want it.) Don't feel you must read it, but I thought I'd mention.

Who is your most loved person?  I'd say my parents. I'm *really* bad at expressing it but I really think this is the case. They were the first people I thought of, too.

Have you ever been bullied?  Oh you have no idea how much you can be bullied over a name.

Who makes you the happiest?  I'd be lying if I didn't say BTS.

What is the most heroic thing you’ve ever done?  I like to think I saved a life once. I won't delve into it much but I had an orgmate who tweeted something in an extremely distressed yet decided tone and I caught it the second he posted, so I took it as a sign to reach out privately even though we weren't close outside of org work. Stayed with them for like half an hour until they calmed down. It doesn't matter to me whether they still remember that night or not, but I do like to go back to that moment when I need a little self-reminder that I can do nice things too.

What calms you down when you’re upset?  BTS bro.

Have you been betrayed in the past? How?  Yeah I have had a friend spill secrets of mine. Yes multiple ones, and yes it's the same person. I've had her blocked everywhere since 2009 and have no plans to ever talk to her again.

Who do you miss the most?  Nobody in real life.

What’s one sweet/candy you miss from your childhood?  Coffeebeat from Meiji. We used to have a local convenience store that would sell this bundle of Meiji candies - idk how to explain it but it was like a sampler bundle? So like tiny portions of different candies, and sold as one product - and I would only ever eat the Coffeebeats. All the other candies in that bundle, I gave to my sister.

Do you have a favourite celebrity chef?  Baek Jongwon :D I get so excited when BTS does stuff with him or when I see him on my favorite Korean variety shows.

Is there anything coming out soon (books, albums, movies, video games) that you’re looking forward to?  Oppenheimer is already out but I have yet to watch it...maybe this Saturday! I've been meaning to take myself out on a weekend. As for music, just Taehyung's and Jungkook's albums.

How do you go about finding books/movies/music to read/watch/listen to?  Books: I never really read anymore but I'm bound to check a book out if it's related to my interests, like if I find out a favorite wrestler is coming up with a memoir.

Movies: I can pick up movie recos from anywhere. All I need is a plot that resonates with me or with my type of movie (read: drama).

Music: I listen to solely BTS these days but if any of the members share a song reco then I'm likely to check it out. So far my favorite music taste has been Joon's.

Do you find it difficult to keep up with online friendships?  Yes, which is why I quit that life many years ago. It's hard when you're on different timezones, and even harder when you drift apart. After losing my circle of friends from my wrestling fandom, and after experiencing Carley go on and off the radar 1 billion times, I've been too scared to make online friends again.

Has there ever been a person you regret ever being friends with?  Kind of.

Do you think you have a good understanding on love?  I don't know. What counts as 'good'? I don't think I'll ever understand love completely; all I know from it are my own experiences.

What do you think of your parent(s)?  They are very hardworking and have always done the most and best they can for us.

I do wish my mom did not inflict/pass on so much of her mental anguish on us when we were kids, and I wish she didn't treat us and talk to us and get frustrated with us as if we were adults when we were like 5...but the older I get, the more I understand where she was coming from. I get it. But just because I'm able to empathize now doesn't mean I've forgiven all that happened in the past.
