Chapter 2-Project “Ma” –Eve–; Scene 4
Original Sin Story: Crime, pages 37-48
Seth’s wound wasn’t too bad, but for safety’s sake he wound up receiving treatment at a hospital in the Twelve Royal Capitals.
He got on one of the huge automated carriages of the security force and went back with the soldier driving it.
Adam wound up staying in the village of Nemu for a time along with his bodyguard, Gammon.
Naturally their goal was to search for the “Witch of the Forest”.
And Eve…she served as their guide when the two headed out to the Forest of Held, as well as their driver for the carriage.
The fee they paid her for this service had far greater profit to her than her income selling ingredients from the forest, so she had no reason to refuse.
Eve knew of several of the villages where the people of the forest lived, and so she first took the two of them to those.
And then they tried going around to the places where the witch was rumored to be, or just moved through aimlessly.
But the days passed without achieving any particular result.
.
That day as well the three of them had been advancing along a forest path with the automated carriage.
The sky was overcast with thick clouds. When Eve suggested that it might rain, Adam replied that they perhaps ought to end things early today.
“That aside, you’re quite skilled with driving the automated carriage, Eve,” Adam complimented. “You must be, to move so smoothly through such narrow pathways.”
“It’s no big deal if you’re used to it. But as you’d expect you can’t get to the deeper parts of the forest with a carriage.”
“Still, people would seldom be going in such places. So they’re not likely to be targets of the tribesmen, and thus there’s a low chance of the witch showing up there.”
Putting together the information that Adam and Gammon had been able to obtain up until now, the Witch of the Forest would apparently make her appearances in public to rescue people attacked by the white army.
But strangely, none of the people who had been rescued by her could remember what this witch looked like.
“She has green hair, is a woman, fires lightning from a blue spoon…And that’s all they can remember, oddly enough.”
“They’re all probably in a state of shock from being attacked by the white army, so that’s understandable isn’t it?”
“I wonder. Maybe…this witch can use a spell that manipulates people’s minds.”
Upon hearing that, Eve’s eyes widened for a moment. Then she quickly chuckled. “That’d be pretty convenient, if there really were such a spell. I’d control all the big-wigs into making me the queen.”
“Haha, I guess so. You could have all the wealth and influence you want…Have you ever heard of such a thing?”
“I’ve been raised in a village of sorcerers for over twenty years, but not once, no. Do you know of anything, Adam? You’re seem pretty well educated.”
“I’ve hardly done any studies on magic.”
“Huh…That’s a bit surprising. Don’t you have all this magical potential?”
“I only learned that relatively recently.”
As the two of them talked, Gammon simply looked around at their surroundings without showing the least amount of interest in their conversation.
Over these past few days Eve had been able to learn quite well that taken favorably he was a man who was very dedicated to his work, but taken unfavorably he was a very strait-laced person with little flexibility.
Adam was also a bit too serious, but he at least was easy to get along with.
Among the people who had come over from the capital there were some every now and then who would look down upon a country bumpkin like Eve. But Adam never showed any sign of such behavior.
From what she’d heard, while he was currently living in the Twelve Royal Capitals, originally he had been raised on the coast west from there.
“Just like you…I was an orphan.”
Apparently when he was a child he had been able to make a living and fend off starvation by hunting fish in the sea.
“One day a man suddenly appeared before me. He took me back to his home in the royal capital, and adopted me as his son. Even now I’m not sure why he did that. After that I received an education as a student under my adoptive father—Horus Solntse.”
“Did you…not have any parental figures until then?”
At Eve’s question, Adam responded without hesitation, “I did have a mother. …Though she was a whale.”
“Eh?”
“Ever since I can remember, that white whale had always been by my side. She watched over me…Or so I always thought. Though she never did anything to actually help me, ha ha.”
“…”
“Do you think my story is strange?”
“Mm, nooo…” Eve shook her head, and then replied earnestly, “I’m positive that whale must have been the manifestation of a spirit.”
“A spirit?”
“There are a lot of them in this forest; spirits that take the form of animals. Robins, chipmunks…I can’t talk to them, but I know of them.”
“I see…”
Adam listened in to Eve’s story, offering neither affirmations or denial.
“I too…had times when I was a child where I felt unbearably lonely. My adoptive mother and father were very kind people. But of course they weren’t my real parents…I couldn’t stand that.”
“…I understand that feeling.”
“In the middle of the night I ran out of the village and into the forest. But it was pitch-black, and I couldn’t tell my left from my right…I sat down alone and started crying. And then…it appeared.”
Eve’s shoulders faintly shook.
A drop of water fell from the sky and hit her face.
It had started to rain. There was no roof on this carriage.
Eve stopped the carriage under the shade of a large tree to keep from getting soaked.
“It?” Adam asked.
“A bear. A frightening bear…Here, look.”
Eve suddenly rolled up her skirt.
Adam unthinkingly moved to avert his eyes at catching sight of her bare skin.
But when he noticed the large scar on her thigh, he regained his composure.
“It bit you?”
“Because it was hungry. A little bit longer and I would have ended my life inside that bears stomach. But at that moment—the animals of the forest all attacked the bear at once. And they saved me.”
“And so they…were spirits of the forest.”
“I never saw a bear in this forest again. The spirits might have gotten rid of them, or else directed me so that I never got close to one…In any case, the spirits are my friends, and I owe them my life.”
Eve had never really told that story to anyone.
That was because anyone who didn’t know much about the forest in particular would likely think it was just a silly tall tale.
But in that drizzling rain Adam listened to her speak with a serious countenance. Conversely, Eve started to regret having told him.
Thinking on his goals…It would be only natural for him to start to hold some doubts towards Eve, upon hearing that story.
“Eve. So you really are—"
Before Adam could continue speaking, they could suddenly hear a loud explosion from far off.
“--!?”
They all turned over there at once.
…There was smoke coming from the direction of Nemu village.
“—What’s happened!?” Gammon shouted as he whipped out the sword at his hip.
What came to Eve’s mind was the white army.
They had never once attacked the village directly…And yet, she couldn’t think of anything else it could be.
As though in support of that, several tribesmen wielding weapons appeared from the shadows of the trees and circled the carriage.
“Oh, we’re not letting you get back to the village,” said a woman standing in the center of the tribesmen, glowering at Eve and the others.
Gammon had swiftly leapt down from the carriage, and shifted his piercing gaze to the woman.
“You must be the commander of the white army…The ‘White Fiend of Jakoku’.”
“Oh my. How impressive, that you know of my illustrious title…Your henchmen serve you well, it seems.” Gammon asked her if she had come here as payback for what happened on the plains, but Raisa shook her head. “Though there is a little of that, yes. This is more—a test.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I…Or rather, all of us, are planning to let loose much bigger fireworks after this.”
Giving no indication that she would explain any further, Raisa and her cohorts started to steadily draw closer to the carriage, weapons at the ready.
“You louts, tread cautiously! This military bastard looks pretty tough. Not to mention—” Raisa glared at Eve. “—He’s traveling with the ‘Witch of the Forest’, too.”
As though in response to those words, Eve got down from the carriage and stood next to Gammon.
“…You seem to be under a misunderstanding. I’m not a witch.”
Eve maintained a calm demeanor, but in response to that Raisa laid bare her anger.
“Don’t bullshit me! Countless of my people have been reduced to ashes by you!”
The moment she spoke, Raisa ran towards Eve.
Pale fire curled around the long and thin weapon she held in both hands.
These flames were not put out by the rain; they were likely some type of magic, or else produced by a unique power she had.
“…”
Eve glanced briefly at Adam, still inside the carriage.
He looked like he had something he wanted to say to Eve.
She didn’t have time to hesitate now.
First…she would need to do something about the enemy in front of her.
And she was worried about the village, too.
--Eve took out the spoon she’d kept hidden on her person.
A blue spoon. The item that was publicly referred to as the wand of the Witch of the Forest. For Eve it was a memento that she’d received from her adoptive mother.
She turned it toward Raisa, who was still heading towards her.
And then—expressionlessly, and concisely, she chanted a short spell phrase.
“Medvedi ubit!”
And it was all over.
It was a lightning spell she had been taught by her adoptive father.
A large bolt of lightning shot from the spoon, and then Raisa and her underlings in their entirety were swallowed up in a flash of light.
.
--The lightning strike that had engulfed the area had no effect on the trees of the forest or the animals.
It was the same with Adam and Gammon who were nearby Eve.
The lightning spell could only burn up that which it had been fired at. And after the flash of light went away, all of the tribesmen that had been surrounding the carriage had been reduced to charred corpses.
…No, there was one exception.
Raisa must have taken the direct brunt of the lightning, and yet despite her body having sustained massive burns she was still clinging to life.
“Wow…I’m surprised. That’s the first time anyone’s taken that shot and lived.” Eve looked down on Raisa with a cold expression.
“Y…you bitch…”
Gammon pressed down on Raisa’s body as she tried to crawl into the forest to escape.
“What an unexpected bounty, to be able to capture the head of the white army. For now let’s get her to the village—”
As he turned his face to the village, Gammon stopped speaking.
There was still smoke rising from that direction.
Eve quickly got back into the carriage and put her hand on the control crystal.
But Adam gripped her thin arm.
“The village will be dangerous. The bulk of the white army is probably attacking it now.”
“That’s why we have to go help my father and the others!”
Gammon tossed something at the carriage as it started to move.
Adam caught the weapon.
“This is…”
It was the peculiarly shaped sword that Raisa had been carrying.
“Take it! It should serve as some protection,” Gammon shouted to Adam. “I can’t let Raisa get away. You’ll have to go on your own!”
His words were in a sense an abandonment of his responsibilities as bodyguard, but under the circumstances he must have judged there was nothing more he could do.
Or maybe he was dazzled by the potential for glory that had fallen before him.
Eve didn’t care which it was.
Whatever the case, she was focused on the situation in the village now.
Though I can’t imagine my father would be done in by the white army so easily…
The residents of the village of Nemu were a band of once famous sorcerers.
Even so, Eve couldn’t help the unease in her chest.
The carriage started to race, Adam sitting beside her.
And in this way they advanced at full speed along the forest path, headed for the village.

Tag Meme
i wasn’t tagged, i just saw this and really wanted to do it for the disaster boy. i’m tagging @jennserr @fairy-squad-mother-18 @jovianghost @fearnotthedemons @judgeofeden and literally anyone who sees this with ocs. 1. Choose an OC. 2. Answer the questions as that OC. 3. Tag 5 people to do the same.
1. What is your name? ”Depends on who’s asking. Most people call me Courier, or Six. Not a lot of people get to call me Eli anymore. Just found out my last name is Novak, so there’s that, I suppose. Not that it’s any of your business.” 2. Do you know why are you named that?
“No. I don’t really care either.”
3. Are you single or taken?
“Why? You interested? Anyway, it’s....complicated. Real complicated.”
4. Have any abilities or powers?
“I’m damn good at what I do. I’m quick and quiet and I can get any package you’ve got safely across the Mojave. Only had one delivery that I didn’t make and there were...extenuating circumstances to that. Other than that, I’m a damn good shot.”
5. Stop being a Mary Sue.
“Fuck off.”
6. What’s your eye color?
“Brown. Like Charlie- like my mom.”
7. How about your hair color?
“Also brown. Got that from Dad.”
8. Have any family members?
“I do, all recently acquired, I suppose. My son, Jonah, is nearly fifteen now. My other son, Warren, is two. Dad just moved in with us. Charlie- Mom- is still getting used to it too. Oh, and there’s Leo. He’s my half-brother. He just rolled into town not too long ago.”
9. Oh? How about pets?
“A cat. Her name is Adder. Leo brought her to me. She was feral when he did- she’s still mean. Just like me, I guess.”
10. That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like?
“It’d be quicker to list the things I do like.”
11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
“Wouldn’t you like to know? Sorry. I’m working on the whole antagonistic thing I’ve got going on. I draw, I play the guitar. I pole dance, too. Bet you’d like to see that one, huh?”
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
“It’d be easier to list the ways I haven’t hurt people.”
13. Ever… killed anyone before?
“That’s practically what I do for a living. And for fun.”
14. What kind of animal are you?
“The human kind?”
15. Name your worst habits?
“I hit things when I get mad- usually the wall. I drink- a lot. I...there’s that whole thing with the chems. Sometimes when I get bored I go outside the city and kill Fiends. It’s like fish in a barrel. Of course, a lot of people would say that’s a good habit. Used to I did too. I just...have a lot more in common with them than I’d like to admit. Only difference between me and them is that I got into med-x and jet and they got into psycho.”
16. Do you look up to anyone at all?
“I...his name is James. That’s all I’m going to say about that.”
17. Are you gay, straight or bisexual?
“I like what I like. And I happen to like a lot of things.”
18. Do you go to school?
“I think the only school around here is the King’s School of Impersonation. And I’m not interested in impersonating a guy that was dead well before the world ended.”
19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?
“I...I’ve already proven that I’m not made for that.”
20. Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?
“I suppose so. A lot of people in Mojave know who I am. Pretty sure the whores on the Strip like me a lot, but that’s mostly because I’m a fool with a lot of caps.”
21. What are you most afraid of?
“....Dying alone.”
22. What do you usually wear?
“When I’m out in public, my duster. Always. It lets people know who I am. Beyond that...I’ve not got a lot of clothes that are mine. James, however...well, he doesn’t mind when I steal his shirts, even though they’re way too big.”
23. What’s one food that tempts you?
“Surprisingly enough, lemons. James and Leo bring them back for me. James has taken it upon himself to be my self-control when it comes to those.”
24. Am I annoying to you?
“Yes. But don’t take it personally, damn near everything is.”
25. Well, it’s still not over!
“Great.”
26. What class are you (low/middle/high)?
“When I was growing up, most of the time I didn’t have two caps to rub together. Now, Vegas itself is mine. You tell me.”
27. How many friends do you have?
“I don’t have friends. Not close ones. There’s...I traveled with a few people. Boone, Cassidy. I guess...I guess Arcade is the closest thing I have to an actual friend, and he just patches me up when I get too many holes in me.”
28. What are your thoughts on pie?
“I’m not a fan of it. Or most sweet things, really. I like to watch James bake them, though. He’s good at it. And he looks nice covered in flour. If you repeat any of that, I will shoot you.”
29. Favorite drink?
“Sunset sarsaparilla. Spiked with whiskey, if possible.”
30. What’s your favorite place?
“The cocktail lounge of the Lucky 38. It took me forever to clean all the grime off the windows, but now I can see out, and the air conditioning keeps it nice and cold. Or, on those cool desert nights, there’s a roof in Westside I’m awful fond of now.”
31. Are you interested in anyone?
“Well, I am married. Not that anyone can tell I’m interested with Benny. And there’s- there’s someone else, too. And I’m definitely not saying anything else about that.”
32. That was a stupid question…
“Yes. It was.”
33. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
“I don’t really like to swim. But the lake, if I had to pick.”
34. What’s your type?
“Why? You hoping you might fit the bill?”
35. Any fetishes?
“You looking to help out with it? I don’t see any other reason for you to know that.”
36. Camping or outdoors?
“Practically, camping. I’ve been caught by too many dust storms out in the desert to go anywhere without a tent. Preferably? There’s a rooftop, in Westside, with an old quilt spread out on top. I like to lay out there and look up at the sky at night.”

Mend.Sew.Shred Interview with @Tikedi
Hey, I am Ti, a twenty eight years old city girl living in the country. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York but currently live in Atlanta, Georgia, most people know me as ‘twin’..lol. TiKeDi is my baby brand that I started while in school. If you mispronounce it I wont correct you, but it’s just like saying my initials TKD, just really fast. I am a design fiend, and I am grateful and blessed that I am able to do what I love for a living. I really appreciate things that are aesthetically pleasing and I do pay more for cute packaging. My mom thinks that I am too liberal…and my answer to any question will always be ‘But did you vote?’
Was designing your dream job?
No, designing was not my dream job. Although I have always been creative and my mom always allowed me to explore my creativity and options in life, I come from a family that believes in traditional careers. Having Jamaican parents and family roots, I grew up with people that were very opinionated, I had a vision of what my life was going to and should of been in my head. When I started college at seventeen I did not know what I wanted to do, however because almost every member in my family is a nurse, the most natural decision for me at the time was to pursue a degree in nursing. I started the pre nursing track upon my entrance of college but my heart was never in it. After my freshman year, I spent about a year and half trying to find my niche. Legit, I went through four or five majors during the course of three semesters. Designing itself, was a mistake, long story short… I was laid off and needed an income.
You have a unique process when creating your pieces,? What sets your style apart from others
What makes my process unique is that I believe in imperfect perfection. Truthfully, although I started my brand out of a need, it became bigger than me and my bills that needed to be paid. I genuinely love what I do and I believe that it shows in my work. One of the hardest things for me is seeing people take my pictures and styles, and passing it off as their own. I used to get so upset when it would happen, but I’ve learned not to give those people and it any of my energy. I realized that feeding my energy into dishonest people and situations were and will always be a hindrance to me, not them. That is valuable energy that could be used to fuel my creative process, plus people always tend to want the original. Yes! TiKeDi is largely based around distressed and shredding but when you look at the details and see a TiKeDi piece, you know it’s a TiKeDi piece. I myself, am a plus size woman so I design for every woman, regardless of size. I am not going to make a line that strictly caters to plus size woman or create something that can only fit individuals that are a size 0-10.
Talk about some places and some people we may have seen your designs on?
Man, TiKeDi has been blessed. Like any life process we go through our highs and lows, however, we have touched a lot of people. A few years ago we would have never thought we would be associated with or having pieces requested and worn by half of our clientele, all of which is due to my sister who has a pulse on who what and where.TiKeDi is in boutiques in both New York and Atlanta. On top of boutique placement our pieces have been used at shows during NYFW in 2014, TBoz on her TLC reality show in 2013, VH1 Love and Hip Hop 2015, Young Thug BET Awards 2015, Young Thug Danny Glover Video, Kendrick Lamar Street Dreaming Video, India Arie music video. Outside of television our pieces have been worn by Teyana Taylor, Brittany Hall, Ashunta Sherriff, Tionna Smalls, Makeup Shayla, Hrush, Alexis Branch, Dondria and countless bloggers, just to name a few.
One of your garments was recently seen in Harper's Bazar speak a little bit about that ?
Yes, that was an amazing feeling because it was unexpected. But Hrush, the Kardashians makeup artist wore a couple of our pieces during her time at NYFW so when she featured an article on Harper’s Bazaar website talking about her time at NYFW and the details of her looks, TiKeDi was featured in it as well. Literally 8 slides of TiKeDi on freaking Harpers Bazaar.
What is your personal style like ?
My style is constantly evolving but a few things that stay consistent is black and comfort. Right now I am in a phase where less is more. I live for a good oversized tee, or v neck, and the perfect skinnies. Oh yeah, the higher and thicker the platform, the better. Recently it has come to my attention that I am ‘goth’ but that is not how I identify, I like to think of myself as an NYC downtown girl.
If you were a lipstick what color would you be and why ?
If I were a lipstick I would be a chocolately nude, I am so into nudes right now when it comes to makeup and I think it is because it matches my personality the most. It seems so cool and calm, yet makes a statement at the same time. It is a little bold without being loud. Some may think its boring and others love it. Yup, chocolately nude I would be.
5 things you cant travel without ?
Five things I cannot travel without are my computer, phone, Instax camera, headphones, and a cute bag.
What's the last album you listened to in its entirety ?
I have ran Emile Sande Long Live the Angels down, but the last album that I listened to, which was today is John Legends Darkness and Light
Who is your muse ?
My sister Asia is my muse. It is crazy because we are complete opposites in every way but whenever I am designing or thinking of a new style she is the first person I think of. She is the prototype because sometimes she throw shit together and on someone else it would look like shit, but because of her personality for her it works. And then there’s other times where she is completely downtown edgy and I just love it, she’s a chameleon.
Favorite place to find hidden gems when shopping ?
My all time favorite place to find hidden gems is in….(dun dun) WALMART. I freaking love Walmart! They are so underrated but for me it is a gold mine, especially the men section. I will go in there for cheese and I end up walking out with bags of shit.
What is hardest part about running your own shop?
The hardest part about running my shop, is stopping. There’s 24 hours in the day and I feel like I work 22. Hell truthfully I think I work 21 hours everyday though. You know your business is your baby, and I think that is truer now with us millenials. We’re holding off having actual babies because we’re out her fostering and growing something of our own, putting our own stamp on things. Doing this causes me to be so hard and judgemental on myself, as well as sacrificing a social life and love life for my work life. Seriously, I’ve been finding myself on dates thinking, urggghhh this is a waste of time I could be home working on such and such.
What is the most fulfilling thing about running your own shop ?
The most fulfilling thing about running my own shop is seeing what I’ve done out in the physical world. It’s one thing when it’s in your head, and then when you create it you’re like ‘ok, ok’ but when you put it out and offer it up to others and they fuck with it as much as you do….that feeling is everything. Like I said, your business is your baby, no one ever wants their baby to be rejected or criticized by others.
Something you are looking forward to accomplishing this year 2017?
I am looking forward to releasing a cut and sew collection for TiKeDi, I am currently developing VIII XXIX by TiKeDi which is basically the infusion line to what we already have. I have so many ideas that I just need to get out so I cannot wait to get it solified.
Being a business owner often requires you to be a jack of all trades what are something hidden talents you have ?
This is an understatement of all times, I have to wear so many hats running my own business that sometimes I question myself. But something that I am really really good at is making things really pretty. So when I am not designing for TiKeDi, I am desigining under TKD Designs….yes I am a web and graphic designer beasting both the back end and front end of people websites. I always joke that I wish I knew how to hardcore hack because ultimately that’s what I want to do, hack the hell out of someones computer, phone, or bank account, just because I can.
Favorite childhood hobby ?
My favorite childhood hobby was drawing. I remember growing up I used to draw all the time (which is weird because I don’t know how to draw now). But when I was younger my mom would always find an art class for me and a writing class for my sister. When she was going to college, she enrolled us in classes as well. One of my favorite things that we used to do, was every Saturday my mom, sister, and I would spend the day creating and doing arts and crafts at the dining room table in our apartment. Then we would head to Downtown Brooklyn, shop a little and eat fish and chips.
