Selling 2 tickets for Harry Styles 10/27 Atlanta Date (Night 1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tried to hold onto these until the last possible minute because it saddens me to have to sell these seats I bought two years ago for a tour I was so excited for. With having two high risk family members, I just don’t think the risk is worth it just to see Harry this year. So, I’m selling 😔
• I paid $150 each for these tickets, so I would love to be able to match that but I’ll also take highest offer ✨
• They’re great seats only 11 rows back in one of the sections nearest to the end of the catwalk: 115
• If you want, boosting this post would be extremely helpful!! 🤍
• DM if you’re interested or know of someone who is!! thanks so much 🤧

[YVR] fun @ the Richmond Night Market (part 1)
Prepare yourself for a lengthy post! I have so many pics from this event that I will have to separate it into 2 posts =P
The Richmond Night is a Friday, Saturday, & Sunday evening event that lasts from 7-11pm. It’s not all yr-round & we just made it in time for the 2017 season (typically May to October). The general admission fee is 3.75 for adults. Despite getting there by 7:15pm, the crowd has already formed. The line-up was soooo long already, & the expected wait time was ~20-25mins. Umm... . #1: I didn’t know there was an admission. #2: I didn’t expect there’d be so many ppl. #3: I didn’t know there was a “cap” for visitors allowed inside. Seemed to me like it was just.. . a festival like the Heritage Festival, where you’re just expected to line up at the booths. Thanks to Susan & Brenda, we were introduced to the coupon book. For $25, it was a fast-pass for 7 entries. The 3 of us got 3/7 stamps on the physical pass & got thru right away via the fast-pass line. Along with it, there were coupons for select booths inside the Night Market.
Tumblr media
Once we entered, we saw this huge poster on our left. These are like the highlights of he 2017 Night Market & the “F#” is the booth’s location.
Tumblr media
1st stop: line up for a coupon book item. Takoyaki at this place. Takoyaki was a fairly popular food item here, which I wasn’t surprised about.
Tumblr media
I forgot what the coupon deal was, but it might have been $1 off or something.
Tumblr media
I haven’t witnessed this sight in sooooo long haha
Tumblr media
Got our 3 balls of traditional octopus takoyaki & 3 scallops.
Tumblr media
We all thought the octopus one was better. Just bcos it was chewy & the texture was nice. The scallop one.. . the center was pretty mushy =/
Tumblr media
Stop #2: bbq squid!
Tumblr media
Omg. The smell was just so. .. heavenly. lol just kidding. “Heavenly” wasn’t quite the term but you know what I mean. I love the smell of grilled squid!
Tumblr media
Got our spicy grilled squid. You could choose between “whole”, legs only, or “tube” only, & we got the whole version so we could try both textures. I’ve always been a fan of the les myself, but Susan & Brenda preferred the tube so.. . it worked out well! :D
Tumblr media
Yayyyy!!
Tumblr media
I bought a box of these to bring home as a souvenir. The banner says they’re the 1st dragon’s beard shop in Vancouver. Have you ever tried dragon’s beard candy? The texture is super interesting & it’s where their true value lies. Think of it as sugar floss... & inside the thin floss, there’s various types of filling, most commonly crushed peanuts & sesame.
Tumblr media
Dragon’s beard candy is a very traditional & labour-intensive type of food art of China. This man here is making the sugar floss. It honestly requires a lot of skill, practice, & patience. The whole make-up of the item itself is very delicate.
Tumblr media
Once the floss is made, this lady here wraps filling inside the floss coating. The container here contained crushed peanuts, which is also the one that I bought for my family.
The texture, like I was saying, is very unique & in the western food world, I can’t compare it to anything that’s present...... I guess the floss texture itself is most-resembling to cotton candy, but this is more stiff & not as “fluffy”. Despite being super fine, it does have a bit of a hardness. You have to try it!
In China & Asia, in general, these are becoming lower & lower in number bcos it’s simply too labour-intensive. If they’re sold at a higher price, ppl don’t buy them & .. etc - you know what happens? It’s pretty sad, actually. I wasn’t expecting to see them here at the Night Market, so I was very happy & bought some even though they were expensive. It’s all about the craft, right?!
Tumblr media
Next, we had fusion tacos from here.
Tumblr media
Their menu. We got #1 & #2.
Tumblr media
The soft-shelled crab was ok. .. but the pork belly.. mmmmm! We love pork belly!! & the combo of the ingredients was interesting. Kimchi & apple with pork belly. I almost wished it didn’t have the spicy miso sauce bcos that felt too overwhelming. Look how much they squeezed on (bottom = pork belly).
Tumblr media
Here was a dessert booth near the Tabetai Tacos.
Tumblr media
The edible dessert pot was so cute.
Tumblr media
But we got the strawberry rose pavlova. Do you know what a pavlova is? I did not before this experience.. I don’t think any dessert place in Edmonton serves it, but I could be wrong! Pavlova is essentially a fancy term for meringue. Now you know what that is, right? It’s named after a Russian ballerina named Anna Pavlova. You should all search up why that came to be; the history part of this naming was interesting!
Tumblr media
Selca~
While the dessert looked really good, it wasn’t all that special. A meringue with strawberry sauce & then topped with whipped cream. In all honesty, I didn't like the combo of the strawberries with the soybean powder (the stuff that you normally find on the red bean patbingsoo). I dunno. . it was weird to me. I’m so old-fashioned. I like fruity stuff on its own & non-fruity items on its own. The powdery texture with the crispness of strawberry was not my thing. Overall, I wouldn’t get this again.

Raindrop cake!!! Seen this numerous times on the internet. My cousin in G-Zhou actually makes these. He’s 3 yrs younger than me, works as a barista at a Chinese coffeeshop chain, has experience at local barista events AND recently selected as the company rep to participate in this.. . iuno coffee fair (??) where he did demos of the coffees the company serves. To top it off, he is a flowerboy! lol in the past few yrs, he started experimenting with desserts.
Anyways, the raindrop cake. I got some deets re: how it’s made & what it’s supposed to taste like from said cousin. So in my mind, I had this taste & texture in my head & I was so excited to finally see if it’s all true (more specifically the texture, bcos the taste depends on what flavour you order).
Tumblr media
Susan’s ordered the sakura-flavoured one. You can see a very delicate flower inside the “raindrop”. The syrup was like. .. a light chrysanthemum or osmanthus flower (a familiar floral flavour but I can’t pinpoint it!) syrup. It was SO light, & more floral scented than actually sweet. & feat. the soybean powder again.
Tumblr media
Here’s another look at this $10 dessert.
A $10 dessert that left us in aw.. ..ful disappointment =( oh my gosh. According to my cousin, the raindrop itself looks clear but should be sweet/have flavour. This had nothing. Yeah, it might be the choice of the sakura version - like it might have been so light & subtle that it tasted like nothing. Furthermore, even with the syrup, it was still pretty bland bcos the amount of syrup was insufficient to sweeten the dessert for us. & the incorporation of the soybean powder was both unrelated & did not contribute to overall satisfaction. It was (as you can see) a dense scoop on the side. So sadddddd!!!
Tumblr media
But that taiyaki saved us. ..
Tumblr media
Brenda purchased it from this booth. I like their slogan: “It’s your loss if you don’t try it for the 1st time. It’s my fault if you don’t come back the 2nd time.” --> I like that business attitude! Clearly if I’ve tried it & don’t come back, you did not meet my expectations :P But I can ya.. . I will revisit you if I remember to!
Pls come back in 2 days for my part 2 post of the Richmond Night Market bcos the night did not end here!
