december 8th is always such a beautiful day in the baseball offseason…last year i got to read about shohei ohtani being “on a plane to toronto” with “an entire sushi restaurant booked” before it turned out to be literally just some guy on that flight and this year i get to read about how “i’m going to kill myself” and “i hope juan soto dies” from yankees fans on reddit after he signed with the mets
#i’m gonna be honest if i was juan soto and game one of the world series was on my birthday#and in the bottom of the tenth my manager thought it would be a good idea to bring out a guy who hadn’t pitched in over a month#who then proceeded to give up the first walk-off grand slam in world series history on the second pitch#and this was ON MY BIRTHDAY. well i wouldn’t want to be on that team anymore either even without factoring in literally anything else
