yes!! i have a 2023 paper white (in green :p) yes, it does have ads, but you can pay to not have ads. which is a little dink bc you already pay for the subscription & the actual kindle. HOWEVER, the ads aren’t in the middle of the book or anything. it’s just when your kindle is not in use (like when it’s locked/sleeping) AND the ads are pretty much just book recommendations bc they’re books based off of the ones you read. for example, all the ads i’ve gotten/i get are books from authors who are in my library.

also: the ads are just pictures, & tbh most of the time i don’t even get them. so they’re really not a big deal….its not like a commercial plays in the middle of the book or anything. i totally recommend getting a kindle bc it’s so so convenient & easy to bring everywhere with you!

ah okay thank you my dear!!! all very helpful info 😙😙 it’s good to know the ads aren’t mid-book or anything but wdym when you say subscription that’s another thing i’m confused about, or maybe it varies between versions of the kindle? do you pay like a monthly subscription and then have unlimited book downloads or something? i was under the impression that you had to pay for ea individual book
