this used to be my mindset. this is what i am talking about when i say you have to have an ego as a creative. you have to be arrogant enough to have an idea and think you’re good enough to write it. you have to believe you’re good. you have to. if you don’t, less cool books will exist, your ideas will stagnate, and the world will be a very very sad place. i have always regretted inaction more than action. i have never regretted writing. i have never been so ashamed of my own work i wished it out of existence. you are good enough. there is no writer that is better or worse than you. you are the only person that can write your novel. no one else will ever be able to write it better than you do. you have to write your coolest idea. you have to do it now. you don’t have to earn it.
