Thinking about Acacius storming the night in his cloak with his most trusted guardsman to accompany him in order to free Lucius before they begin their rebellion.

And Acacius losing all of his men in one moment. Then the next he's presented in front of the emperors, hes not only stripped of all armor but clearly beaten in the face.

I wonder if he tried to deny Lucilla's involvement. Tried to take it all and fault and spare her before they went to claim her anyway. How he was probably chained, tortured, and the whole time having no concern for himself but worried about what they might do to her instead.

Then how relieved he must have been to be reunited with her, even through bloodied lips and bruises, knowing she was here with him and he could still protect her even as they both are doomed.
