DILUC

For a man of many qualities, he was sorely lacking in social skills

It was truly a blessing that he’d managed to land such a sweetheart as you, your relationship in its early infancy

Kind, caring, beautiful, beloved by all... by all...all... by the forever nuisance in his life, his dearest brother

Many a night he watched the two of you laugh and joke in a booth at the bar. You had came to accomply him on his shift, but he was too busy dealing with all the customers to pay you enough attention, attention that kaeya had quickly taken for himself

Had he ever made you laugh so? It took him months to form a bond with you, had it taken Kaeya mere days? Were the two of you more compatible?

The already ever present frown grows deeper, scaring off whatever customers were present. Anger which was bubbling fervently inside him was soon replaced with crippling doubt.

You... you weren’t going to leave him, right? You’d spent precious moments together, moments that helped lift the heavy burdens of his ever present torments. The loneliness that he felt deep within himself dissipated whenever you were by his side... he couldn’t stand to lose you

He finishes his shift early that night, the unsettling feeling forming a pit in his stomach, deciding to leave without you, uncertain of what not so kind words would be directed towards his brother should be encounter him

Was he really going to lose you to kaeya?

Only several meters out of the bar, he hears footsteps rapidly approaching, he prepares himself to deal with whoever dared to make his night even worse

But it was you, an arm slipping into his, a look of concern plastered on you face

“Is everything alright? You left without saying anything.” He doesn’t have the heart to take his arm away, resigning himself to his fate. Perhaps... you’d be happier... with someone else. Even if that someone is Kaeya

What could be even offer you? Aside from gifts and riches. He was forever absent, awkward in conversation. He didn’t believe possess an ounce genuine charm, aside from his gentlemanly facade.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, he tentatively begins, already feeling that the end is in sight, “You looked like... you were having a good time. I didn’t want to disturb you.” Eyes downcast, he prepares himself for the words he says next “If...if there’s someone else you’d rather spend your time with... that’s... alright. I won’t hold you back. Please, do what makes you happy.” He truly only wanted your happiness... even...even if it wasn’t with him

You manoeuvre in front of him, clasping both of your hands in his, “ What are you talking about? Kaeya was talking about you! He was telling me what you were like as a kid! I couldn’t get anything out of you... so I thought I’d ask him!” A mischievous grin forming on your face, “He told me all about how you couldn’t sleep without your stuffed dragon, how you still couldn’t say spaghetti correctly until you were 15-“

You’re cut off mid sentence by his arms enveloping you in a bone crushing hug, immense relief flooding through him, smiling softly, you return the embrace.

You realise the reason for his actions, it leaves you feeling guilty inside. he was insecure. Scared. You’d do whatever you could to remidy it. “It’s alright Diluc, I’m not charmed quite so easily.” You whisper gently, wanting nothing more to comfort him and ease the guilt you felt for making him feel so troubled

Looking into his eyes, you steady his face against your palm, “You’re the only one for me. I assure you,”

He leans in, looking deep into your eyes for confirmation, that your word is pure and true.

Satisfied, he seals the deal with a soft kiss on the lips

ALBEDO

Truly doesn’t notice it at first

He trusted you, of course he did, so he didn’t think anything of you hanging out with Timeous

That is, until you were too busy to spend time with him

He took some time to relfect then, noticing that you spent time with him and timeous whenever you came to visit, offering him words of encouragement on his tasks when you noticed his struggles

An unpleasant feeling begins to rise in his chest. One that he has never felt before

He takes more time to confirm that’s what’s causing his discomfort, not wanting to act without complete evidence

He can admit himself that he lacks experience in relationships, often feeling uncertain about how to proceed

You always seemed happy. Eager to help him with his experiments, laying his head in your lap after a long day so you could read to him

What had went wrong?

He thinks for a long time, trying to find a cause and solution

Perhaps he hadn’t spent enough time with you. His experiments were time consuming, often not very interesting for those not involved in alchemy, had Timeous provided the affection you were in need of?

He decided the only way to remedy this problem was to approach you, despite the unfamiliar nerves rising in his chest

You’d already changed his life for the better, made his days even more exciting, finding new enjoyment outside of alchemy, to continue on without you... was that even possible?

Pouring steaming mugs of coffee for the two of you, he sets them on the table in front of you, greeting you with a quick hello, making haste, seeing no reason to delay dealing with the problem

He could always resolve problems, but, what if this was one he couldn’t? He tried to bury thoughts like those before they had a chance to rise to the surface.

Cool eyes regard you over the steam, suddenly unsure where to start. Setting the mug down, he begins. “Ive noticed that a lot of your time has been dedicated towards Timeous as of late. Being a personal friend of mine, It is easy to acknowledge that many are drawn to his kindness.” He watched your brows furrowed in confusion, mouth almost open and ready to rebute him, but he continues on. “ I want satisfactory experiences for both of us. For us to continue forward, I believe it would be best to address the problem at hand.” Now he felt the nerves rising, sticky and prickly in his chest. What words would he hear next? “I... want our relationship to continue past this. I do not think it would be pleasant... if it ended so soon. Whatever issue there is, I want to fix it. Together.” Now, the dreaded question, “...Why is Timeous occupying so much of your time?”

The question hangs in the air for a minute, unsure of how to proceed. Had he felt like this for a while? Scared as to why you weren’t spending time with him?

You reach out, sensing the implications behind his words, clasping his gloved hands in yours, “You have nothing to worry about Albedo. Truthfully, you always looked busy. Concentrated. A little... tense. I didn’t want to bother you. I know how much you dedicate yourself to your craft, I didn’t want to distract you from that.” You smile sadly, realising you caused a problem as you tried to prevent one. “You’re the only one for me, I swear it.” Your smile picks up, hoping to comfort him,giving his hands a soft squeeze, “My chalk prince.”

A smile returns to his own face, relief flooding through him. “I’m truly glad of that. To proceed forward on this path without you... it doesn’t bear thinking about.”

You finish your drinks, hearts as warm as the mugs in hand.

Hi! I was the one who requested the self depracating angst HCs for Kaeya and Diluc. I really liked it, hit me real hard. You did a really really good! I really liked it.

I have another request, if that's alright. May I please ask for HCs of Diluc, Kaeya and Zhongli with a super straightforward S/O who was attracted to them at first sight. Not exactly love at first sight, but like they(s/o) were drawn to him. They're very honest and constantly compliments him. After a certain amount of time together, their S/O is certain that they(s/o) are in love with him and starts to court him very seriously and earnestly.

Straightforward S/O

Diluc:

○ He appreciates your honestly in some regards! It's nice to have someone who doesn't feel the need to change who they are to please him. You're not afraid to tell him how it is, and you're especially not afraid to point it out if he makes a mistake. Diluc wishes more of the people he interacted with was like that.

○ The part Diluc is less appreciative of is how forward you can be. It's not like you're overly flirty. He's used to that from some of the patrons that stop by the tavern. No you're just very quick to compliment him. And you do it with such sincerity it's hard not to get flustered.

○ His cheeks go red and he'll turn away from you, rapidly cleaning up glasses or arranging things behind the bar. You can't help but smile a little every time. You aren't trying to tease him, it's just how he reacts. It's cute.

○ Besides, you aren't lying when you say how strong he is, or how handsome he is, how nice his eyes are, how soothing his voice sounds. It's the truth and... Ah. Something clicked in your mind at that moment. Something very important.

○ You love him. Your cheeks redden at the realisation and you look at him, his determined expression even as he's recovering from your most recent compliment catching him off guard. He really was an interesting man. And honestly, you wouldn't mind dating him.

○ The next time you showed up at the Tavern, you had a bouquet of lamp grass in your hands. Diluc raised an eyebrow, concerned your harmless compliments were now going to enter tasteless flirting territory. But when you told him how you felt, his expression softened, cheeks reddening as he took the flowers in his hands.

○ You mention wanting to court him properly and he chuckles softly, cutting you off and puzzling you.

"Are you really telling me the last 6 months you've spent complimenting me wasn't your attempt at courting me~?"

○ Despite his joke, the two of you do spend time getting to know each other and falling for each other slowly and steadily.

Kaeya:

○ The man is a master of flirting, so expect every compliment you give him to get turned back on you without any hesitation. You talk about how pretty his eyes (or eye I guess) look, he tells you how the stars of Teyvat shine in yours.

○ Tell him how much you admire his strength? He chuckles and offers to carry you back home if you want him to~! Compliment his work ethic? His voice lowers and he smirks softly as he tells you the only place he would work harder would be in the bedroom with you. You have to cut him off with that one or he would get very detailed with his descriptions!

○ The one time he doesn't have a quick come back is when you put your hand on his chest, right over his heart. He smirks, and is about to speak when you beat him to it. You tell him how much you admire his kind heart. How it's one of his best traits. And he stops.

○ There's a silence, and you can feel his heart pounding. You look up at him, worried that perhaps you've insulted him somehow. You were just trying to pay him a compliment so if he's gotten upset by it you would need to rectify that.

○ Instead you were surprised to find that he looked... Flustered? Embarrassed? It was interesting to see and, honestly, you couldn't help but think it made him look rather cute. A small smile formed on your lips as you said just that. The confident and flirty Captain Kaeya looked adorable when he was flustered.

"Careful now, you may just make me fall for you if you keep that up."

○ Kaeya was just trying to tease you, but honestly? You couldn't say that you would mind the idea of dating the man. And so, from that point on, there was a subtle shift in your relation with him. Growing slowly and surely until the two of you were comfortably together.

Zhongli

○ Zhongli was an interesting man. His wisdom seemed unending and he seemed like he could hold a conversation with anyone. You were no exception to this, approaching him one day after overhearing him telling a story of Rex Lapis to the children of Liyue.

○ You complimented his story telling abilities. It was impressive, especially as it was well known to the locals that the particular group of kids who had been listening so intently were often seen running wild around the harbour. They paid little attention to even their own parents so to see them drawn in like that was incredible.

○ And of course, you told him as much. You yourself had even been taken in by his words after all, so you couldn't help but praise him for it.

○ Zhongli accepts your compliments with a smile every time. You're never 100% sure if he's really taken them in or if he's being polite. But still, the two of you enjoyed each other's company. You would often get into debates with him around how Liyue was run, it's history, it's future as a city without an Archon. You could be open and honest with him as could he with you. It was refreshing and much needed for the both of you.

○ The two of you continue like this for months, growing ever more comfortable with each other. It reaches the point where the merchants around town start to assume you're a couple. The first time a merchant made that mistake, it had caught you off guard.

○ But, the more it happened, the more it got you thinking. Would you mind dating him? The two of you already spent so much time together. You got on really well. You often paid him compliments because there was so much about the man you admired. The realisation hit you one morning as you waited for Zhongli at your usual spot. You had feelings for him.

○ Zhongli called out to you with a friendly wave, smiling warmly as he walked closer. You internally made the decision to try and take your relationship to the next level. You turned up the compliments, flirting a little, really making it obvious that you liked him. He didn't quite seem to be picking up the hints though, and that was frustrating.

○ Or, at least he seemed to not be getting it. Just as your frustration was starting to boil over, Zhongli moved closer. His arm coming up to the wall behind you as he trapped you between himself and the building. He looked down at you with an almost hunger in his eyes as he spoke.

"You should be careful when you offer such sweet words so freely my dear. You may just make an old man think you're interested~"

○ You've never backed down from a challenge, and this was no exception. It didn't take long, especially as you two had effectively spent the last few months courting each other without realising it. But now, the two of you were officially together and happily so.
