I've always been fascinated by the unknown.
The supernatural.
(Younger me particularly loved ghosts, angels, and vampires. Yeah. I went through a Vampire Phase™️.)
When I became a Christian, though...I knew that would be sinful. Idolatry.
So?
I pushed those desires--my innate curiosity--down.
Down, down, down.
...Or. I tried to. :o)
Yeearrss later, I found myself getting fascinated again.
BUT this time: it was the occult. Magic.
Demons, particularly. (Ya think becoming a Christian would nip those things in the bud. But. :o))
Every time I would read a passage about them, I felt a peculiar...surge of excitement? (...What does this say about me as a person?? Lool. 😅)
Particularly in regard to Lucifer/Satan. (Who I then equated as the same Being.)
I was supposed to hate Him--consider Him an enemy...buuut???
I actually felt...a strange...kinship with Him. Admiration.
Imagine being cast down from the only home you ever knew.
Outcast. Hated.
And despite the fact that You're fated to destruction, STILL...you fight. And rage. And press on and on and on.
(Obvs, I have...a different perspective now, as a pagan; but I'm just speaking from my former Christian perspective.)
Near the end of my walk, I even wrote Lord Lucifer a poem. Y'know: like every normal, good Christian girl does. 🙃🙃
I ended it with a line from another poem that always reminded me of Him:
"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
Even now--as I'm moving "away" from my Demonolatry/Satanist roots:
I still wonder--and love, and respect the Demonic.
Including beautiful Lord Lucifer.
